ਅਤੇ ਜੇਕਰ ਪਹਾੜ ਸੋਨੇ ਤੇ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ, ਅਤੇ ਜਵਾਹਿਰਾਤ ਤੇ ਮਾਣਕਾ ਨਾਲ ਜੜੇ ਜਾਣ।
if the mountains became gold and silver, studded with gems and jewels
ਭੀ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਸਾਲਾਹਣਾ; ਆਖਣ. ਲਹੈ ਨ ਚਾਉ ॥੧॥
bhee toonhai saalaahanaa; aakhan. lahai na chaau |1|
ਤਾਂ ਭੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਜੰਸ ਹੀ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਆਲਾਪਣ ਦੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਉਮੰਗ ਮੁੱਕੇਗੀ ਨਹੀਂ।

ਭਾਰ ਅਠਾਰਹ. ਮੇਵਾ ਹੋਵੈ; ਗਰੁੜਾ ਹੋਇ ਸੁਆਉ ॥

ਜੇਕਰ ਬਨਾਸਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਅਠਾਰਾ ਬੋਝ ਫਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ਅਤੇ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਹਰਾ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਘਾਹ ਸੁਆਦੀ ਚਾਉਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ।
If all the eighteen loads of vegetation became fruits,
ਚੰਦੁ ਸੂਰਜੁ ਦੁਇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਰਖੀਅਹਿ; ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਥਾਉ ॥

ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਦੋਨਾਂ ਚੰਨ ਤੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਰਗਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕ ਰੱਖਾਂ ਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਸਥਿਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ।
and the growing grass became sweet rice; if I were able to stop the sun and the moon in their orbits and hold them perfectly steady

ਜੇ. ਦੇਹੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਲਾਈਐ; ਪਾਪ ਗਰਹ ਦੁਇ ਰਾਹੁ ॥

ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਪਾਪੀ ਤਾਰਿਆਂ ਰਾਹੂ ਤੇ ਕੇਤੂ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਰੀਏ ਦਰਦ ਚਮੋੜ ਲਵਾਂ।
If my body were afflicted with pain, under the evil influence of unlucky stars;
ਰਤੁ ਪੀਣੇ ਰਾਜੇ. ਸਿਰੈ ਉਪਰਿ ਰਖੀਅਹਿ; ਏਵੈ ਜਾਪੈ ਭਾਉ ॥

ਜੇਕਰ ਲਹੂ-ਚੂਸਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੀਸ ਵੁਤੇ ਹਕੂਮਤ ਰਖਦੇ ਹੋਣ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਐਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਿਸਦੀ ਹੋਵੇ।
and if the blood-sucking kings were to hold power over me
ਭੀ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਸਾਲਾਹਣਾ; ਆਖਣ. ਲਹੈ ਨ ਚਾਉ ॥੩॥

ਤਾਂ ਭੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਜੱਸ ਹੀ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਆਲਾਪਣ ਦੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਉਮੰਗ ਮੁੱਕੇਗੀ ਨਹੀਂ।
-even if this were my condition, I would still worship and adore You, and my longing to chant Your Praises would not decrease. ||3||

ਅਗੀ ਪਾਲਾ ਕਪੜੁ ਹੋਵੈ; ਖਾਣਾ ਹੋਵੈ ਵਾਉ ॥

ਜੇਕਰ ਅੱਗ ਤੇ ਕੱਕਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਪੁਸ਼ਾਕ ਹੋਵੇ, ਹਵਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਹੋਵੇ,
If fire and ice were my clothes, and the wind was my food;
ਸੁਰਗੈ ਦੀਆ ਮੋਹਣੀਆ ਇਸਤਰੀਆ ਹੋਵਨਿ; ਨਾਨਕ. ਸਭੋ ਜਾਉ ॥
suragai deea mohaneea isatareea hovan; naanak. sabho jaau |
ਅਤੇ ਜੇਕਰ ਬਹਿਸ਼ਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੋਹਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਹੂਰਾ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਹੋਵਣ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਛ ਬਿਨਸ ਜਾਊਗਾ।
and even if the enticing heavenly beauties were my wives, O Nanak-all this shall pass away!
ਭੀ ਤੂਹੈ ਸਾਲਾਹਣਾ; ਆਖਣ. ਲਹੈ ਨ ਚਾਉ ॥੪॥

ਤਾਂ ਭੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਹੀ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਹੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ ਸਨਾ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਤੀਬਰ ਉਮਾਹ ਮਿਟਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
Even then, I would worship and adore You, and my longing to chant Your Praises would not decrease. ||4||

ਬਦਫੈਲੀ ਗੈਬਾਨਾ; ਖਸਮੁ. ਨ ਜਾਣਈ ॥
badafailee gaibaanaa; khasam. na jaanee |
ਮੰਦੇ ਅਮਲ ਕਮਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਭੂਤਨਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ।
The foolish demon, who does evil deeds, does not know his Lord and Master.
ਸੋ ਕਹੀਐ ਦੇਵਾਨਾ; ਆਪੁ ਨ ਪਛਾਣਈ ॥
so kaheeai devaanaa; aap na pachhaanee |
ਉਹ ਝੱਲਾ ਆਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦਾ।
Call him a mad-man, if he does not understand himself.
ਕਲਹਿ ਬੁਰੀ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ; ਵਾਦੇ ਖਪੀਐ ॥
kaleh buree sansaar; vaade khapeeai |
ਹਾਨੀਕਾਰਕ ਹੈ ਝਗੜਾ ਝਾਂਝਾ ਇਹ ਜਹਾਨ ਅੰਦਰ। ਬਹਿਸ ਮੁਬਾਹਿਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਦਾ ਵਿਆਕੁਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The strife of this world is evil; these struggles are consuming it.
ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਵੇਕਾਰਿ; ਭਰਮੇ ਪਚੀਐ ॥
vin naavai vekaar; bharame pacheeai |
ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਫਜੂਲ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ। ਸੰਦੇਹ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਹ ਬਰਬਾਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Without the Lord's Name, life is worthless. Through doubt, the people are being destroyed.
ਰਾਹ ਦੋਵੈ. ਇਕੁ ਜਾਣੈ; ਸੋਈ ਸਿਝਸੀ ॥

ਜੋ ਦੋਨਾਂ ਮਾਰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਲ ਲੈ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਬੰਦ-ਖਲਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
One who recognizes that all spiritual paths lead to the One shall be emancipated.
ਕੁਫਰ ਗੋਅ. ਕੁਫਰਾਣੈ; ਪਇਆ ਦਝਸੀ ॥
kufar goa. kufaraanai; peaa dajhasee |
ਨਾਸਤਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਰਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਝੂਠ ਬਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੜ ਕੇ ਸੁਆਹ ਹੋ ਜਾਏਗਾ।
One who speaks lies shall fall into hell and burn.
ਸਭ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਸੁਬਹਾਨੁ; ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਈਐ ॥
sabh duneea subahaan; sach samaaeeai |
ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਮ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਜੋ ਸੱਚ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
In all the world, the most blessed and sanctified are those who remain absorbed in Truth.
ਸਿਝੈ ਦਰਿ ਦੀਵਾਨਿ; ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਈਐ ॥੯॥

ਆਪਣੀ ਸਵੈ-ਹੰਗਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਟਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਇਨਸਾਨ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੁਰਖਰੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
One who eliminates selfishness and conceit is redeemed in the Court of the Lord. ||9||
ਮਃ ੧ ਸਲੋਕੁ ॥

ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ, ਸਲੋਕ।
First Mehl, Salok:
ਸੋ ਜੀਵਿਆ; ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਸੋਇ ॥
so jeeviaa; jis man vasiaa soe |
ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹੀ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਹ ਮਾਲਕ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਰੰਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
They alone are truly alive, whose minds are filled with the Lord.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਅਵਰੁ; ਨ ਜੀਵੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
naanak. avar; na jeevai koe |
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ।
O Nanak, no one else is truly alive;
ਜੇ ਜੀਵੈ; ਪਤਿ ਲਥੀ ਜਾਇ ॥
je jeevai; pat lathee jaae |
ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਗੁਆ ਕੇ ਟੁਰ ਜਾਏਗਾ।
those who merely live shall depart in dishonor;
ਸਭੁ ਹਰਾਮੁ; ਜੇਤਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਖਾਇ ॥
sabh haraam; jetaa kichh khaae |
ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਹ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਵਰਜਿਤ ਹੈ।
everything they eat is impure.
ਰਾਜਿ ਰੰਗੁ; ਮਾਲਿ ਰੰਗੁ ॥
raaj rang; maal rang |
ਹਕੂਮਤ ਦੀ ਮਸਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਧਨ-ਦੌਲਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਰੰਗ ਰਲੀਆਂ,
Intoxicated with power and thrilled with wealth,
ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤਾ; ਨਚੈ ਨੰਗੁ ॥
rang rataa; nachai nang |
ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਜਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਬੇਸ਼ਰਮ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਨੱਚਦਾ ਹੈ।
They delight in their pleasures, and dance about shamelessly.
ਨਾਨਕ; ਠਗਿਆ ਮੁਠਾ ਜਾਇ ॥
naanak; tthagiaa mutthaa jaae |
ਨਾਨਕ ਉਹ ਛਲਿਆ ਤੇ ਲੁੱਟਿਆ ਪੁੱਟਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, they are deluded and defrauded.
ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ; ਪਤਿ ਗਇਆ ਗਵਾਇ ॥੧॥

ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਆਬਰੂ ਵੰਞਾ ਕੇ ਤੁਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Without the Lord's Name, they lose their honor and depart. ||1||

ਖਾਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਹਿਨਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀ ਬਣ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ,
What good is food, and what good are clothes,
ਜਾ ਮਨਿ; ਨਾਹੀ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਇ ॥
jaa man; naahee sachaa soe |
ਜਦੋਂ ਤਾਈਂ ਉਹ ਸੱਚਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਸਦਾ?
if the True Lord does not abide within the mind?
ਕਿਆ ਮੇਵਾ. ਕਿਆ ਘਿਉ ਗੁੜੁ ਮਿਠਾ; ਕਿਆ ਮੈਦਾ ਕਿਆ ਮਾਸੁ ॥
kiaa mevaa. kiaa ghiau gurr mitthaa; kiaa maidaa kiaa maas |
ਕੀ ਹੈ ਫਲ, ਕੀ ਘੀ ਤੇ ਮਿੱਠੜਾ ਗੁੜ, ਕੀ ਮਹੀਨ ਆਟਾ ਅਤੇ ਕੀ ਗੋਸ਼ਤ?
What good are fruits, what good is ghee, sweet jaggery, what good is flour, and what good is meat?
ਕਿਆ ਕਪੜੁ. ਕਿਆ ਸੇਜ ਸੁਖਾਲੀ; ਕੀਜਹਿ ਭੋਗ ਬਿਲਾਸ ॥

ਕੀ ਹੈ ਪੁਸ਼ਾਕ ਅਤੇ ਕੀ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ਪਲੰਘ, ਸੁਹਬਤ ਤੇ ਰੰਗ-ਰਲੀਆਂ ਮਾਨਣ ਲਈ।
What good are clothes, and what good is a soft bed, to enjoy pleasures and sensual delights?
ਕਿਆ ਲਸਕਰ. ਕਿਆ ਨੇਬ ਖਵਾਸੀ; ਆਵੈ ਮਹਲੀ ਵਾਸੁ ॥
kiaa lasakar. kiaa neb khavaasee; aavai mahalee vaas |
ਕੀ ਲਾਭ ਹੈ ਸੈਨਾ ਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਕੀ ਲਾਭ ਚੋਬਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਮੰਦਰਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਸਣ ਦਾ?
What good is an army, and what good are soldiers, servants and mansions to live in?
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਣੁ; ਸਭੇ ਟੋਲ ਵਿਣਾਸੁ ॥੨॥
naanak sache naam vin; sabhe ttol vinaas |2|
ਨਾਨਕ, ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ, ਸਮੂਹ ਸਾਜ਼ੋ ਸਮਾਨ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, without the True Name, all this paraphernalia shall disappear. ||2||

Pauree:
ਜਾਤੀ ਦੈ ਕਿਆ ਹਥਿ; ਸਚੁ ਪਰਖੀਐ ॥

ਜਾਤ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀ ਹੈ? ਸੱਚਾਈ ਪਰਖੀ ਤੇ ਪੜਤਾਲੀ ਜਾਣੀ ਹੈ।
What good is social class and status? Truthfulness is measured within.
ਮਹੁਰਾ ਹੋਵੈ ਹਥਿ; ਮਰੀਐ ਚਖੀਐ ॥
mahuraa hovai hath; mareeai chakheeai |
ਉੱਚੀ ਜਾਤੀ ਦਾ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਆਈ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈਣ ਅਤੇ ਖਾਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Pride in one's status is like poison-holding it in your hand and eating it, you shall die.
ਸਚੇ ਕੀ ਸਿਰਕਾਰ; ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਜਾਣੀਐ ॥
sache kee sirakaar; jug jug jaaneeai |
ਸੱਚੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਯੁਗਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਾਣੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
The True Lord's Sovereign Rule is known throughout the ages.
ਹੁਕਮੁ ਮੰਨੇ ਸਿਰਦਾਰੁ; ਦਰਿ ਦੀਬਾਣੀਐ ॥
hukam mane siradaar; dar deebaaneeai |
ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਫੁਰਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਮਨਸਬਦਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
One who respects the Hukam of the Lord's Command is honored and respected in the Court of the Lord.
ਫੁਰਮਾਨੀ ਹੈ ਕਾਰ; ਖਸਮਿ ਪਠਾਇਆ ॥
furamaanee hai kaar; khasam patthaaeaa |
ਆਪਣੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਮਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਫੁਰਮਾ ਕੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ।
By the Order of our Lord and Master, we have been brought into this world.
ਤਬਲਬਾਜ ਬੀਚਾਰ; ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ ॥
tabalabaaj beechaar; sabad sunaaeaa |
ਗੁਰੂ-ਨਗਾਰਚੀ ਨੇ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਰੀਏ, ਇਸ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਦੇਹੀ ਫੇਰੀ ਹੈ।
The Drummer, the Guru, has announced the Lord's meditation, through the Word of the Shabad.

ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਕਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਕਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
Some have mounted their horses in response, and others are saddling up.
ਇਕਨੀ ਬਧੇ ਭਾਰ; ਇਕਨਾ ਤਾਖਤੀ ॥੧੦॥

ਕਈਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੋਝ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਲਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਤਾਂ ਸਵਾਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਤੁਰ ਭੀ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
Some have tied up their bridles, and others have already ridden off. ||10||

ਸਲੋਕ, ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
Salok, First Mehl:
ਜਾ ਪਕਾ. ਤਾ ਕਟਿਆ; ਰਹੀ. ਸੁ ਪਲਰਿ ਵਾੜਿ ॥
jaa pakaa. taa kattiaa; rahee. su palar vaarr |
ਜਦ ਪੈਲੀ ਪੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਇਹ ਵੱਢ ਲਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਕੇਵਲ ਫੂਸ ਤੇ ਵਾੜ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
When the crop is ripe, then it is cut down; only the stalks are left standing.
ਸਣੁ ਕੀਸਾਰਾ. ਚਿਥਿਆ; ਕਣੁ ਲਇਆ. ਤਨੁ ਝਾੜਿ ॥

ਕਸੀਰਾਂ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਬੱਲੀਆਂ ਸਣੇ ਫਸਲ ਗਾਹ ਲਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਡਾ ਕੇ ਫਸਲ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਦਾਣੇ ਵੱਖਰੇ ਕੱਢ ਲਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
The corn on the cob is put into the thresher, and the kernels are separated from the cobs.
ਦੁਇ ਪੁੜ ਚਕੀ ਜੋੜਿ ਕੈ; ਪੀਸਣ ਆਇ ਬਹਿਠੁ ॥

ਚੱਕੀ ਦੇ ਦੋਵੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕਰਕੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਦਾਣਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੀਹਣ ਬਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Placing the kernels between the two mill-stones, people sit and grind the corn.
ਜੋ ਦਰਿ ਰਹੇ. ਸੁ ਉਬਰੇ; ਨਾਨਕ. ਅਜਬੁ ਡਿਠੁ ॥੧॥

ਜਿਹੜੇ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਧੁਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਇਕ ਅਸਚਰਜ ਗੱਲ ਦੇਖੀ ਹੈ।
Those kernels which stick to the central axle are spared-Nanak has seen this wonderful vision! ||1||

ਦੇਖ ਕਿ ਕਮਾਦ ਵਢਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਫ ਕਰਕੇ ਤੇ ਹਿਸ ਦੇ ਆਗ ਉਤਾਰ ਕੇ ਪੈਰਾ ਤੋਂ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਇਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਭਰੀਆਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
