ਖੁੰਢਾ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਰਖਿ ਕੈ; ਦੇਨਿ. ਸੁ ਮਲ ਸਜਾਇ ॥
khundtaa andar rakh kai; den. su mal sajaae |
ਘੁਲ੍ਹਾੜੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੱਕੜ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੋਗੜਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੀੜਦੇ ਤੇ ਡੰਡ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
and then, it is placed between the wooden rollers and crushed.
ਰਸੁ ਕਸੁ ਟਟਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ; ਤਪੈ ਤੈ ਵਿਲਲਾਇ ॥
ras kas ttattar paaeeai; tapai tai vilalaae |
ਰਹੁ ਨੂੰ ਕਸ਼ੀਦ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਕਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੜਾਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਸੜਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਚੀਕ ਚਿਹਾੜਾ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
What punishment is inflicted upon it! Its juice is extracted and placed in the cauldron; as it is heated, it groans and cries out.
ਭੀ ਸੋ ਫੋਗੁ ਸਮਾਲੀਐ; ਦਿਚੈ ਅਗਿ ਜਾਲਾਇ ॥

ਖਾਲੀ ਪੀੜੇ ਹੌਏ ਤੱਥੇ ਭੀ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕਰਕੇ ਅੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾੜ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
And then, the crushed cane is collected and burnt in the fire below.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਮਿਠੈ ਪਤਰੀਐ; ਵੇਖਹੁ ਲੋਕਾ ਆਇ ॥੨॥

ਨਾਨਕ, ਮਿੱਠੜੇ ਪਤਿਆਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਮਾਦ ਨਾਲ ਕੇਹੋ ਜੇਹਾ ਸਲੂਕ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਓ! ਆ ਕੇ ਦੇਖੋ।
Nanak: come, people, and see how the sweet sugar-cane is treated! ||2||

ਇਕਨਾ. ਮਰਣੁ ਨ ਚਿਤਿ; ਆਸ ਘਣੇਰਿਆ ॥

ਕਈਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੌਤ ਚਿੱਤ ਚੇਤੇ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਬੜੀਆਂ ਉਮੀਦਾਂ ਬੰਨ੍ਹੀ ਬੈਠੇ ਹਨ।
Some do not think of death; they entertain great hopes.
ਮਰਿ ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮਹਿ ਨਿਤ; ਕਿਸੈ ਨ ਕੇਰਿਆ ॥
mar mar jameh nit; kisai na keriaa |
ਉਹ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਮਰਦੇ, ਬਿਨਸਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਜੰਮਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ।
They die, and are re-born, and die, over and over again. They are of no use at all!
ਆਪਨੜੈ ਮਨਿ ਚਿਤਿ; ਕਹਨਿ ਚੰਗੇਰਿਆ ॥
aapanarrai man chit; kehan changeriaa |
ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਹੀ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ।
In their conscious minds, they call themselves good.
ਜਮਰਾਜੈ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ; ਮਨਮੁਖ ਹੇਰਿਆ ॥
jamaraajai nit nit; manamukh heriaa |
ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਫ਼ਰਿਸ਼ਤਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਸਦੀਵ ਤੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੀ ਆਪ-ਹੁਦਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The King of the Angels of Death hunts down those self-willed manmukhs, over and over again.
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਲੂਣ ਹਾਰਾਮ; ਕਿਆ ਨ ਜਾਣਿਆ ॥

ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕੂਲ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਲੂਣ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਬੁਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਉਤੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਨੇਕੀ ਲਈ ਧੰਨਵਾਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।
The manmukhs are false to their own selves; they feel no gratitude for what they have been given.
ਬਧੇ ਕਰਨਿ ਸਲਾਮ; ਖਸਮ. ਨ ਭਾਣਿਆ ॥
badhe karan salaam; khasam. na bhaaniaa |
ਜੋ ਦਬਾ ਹੇਠ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦੇ!
Those who merely perform rituals of worship are not pleasing to their Lord and Master.
ਸਚੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ; ਸਾਹਿਬ ਭਾਵਸੀ ॥
sach milai mukh naam; saahib bhaavasee |
ਜੋ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੇ ਲਗਣ ਲਗ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who attain the True Lord and chant His Name are pleasing to the Lord.
ਕਰਸਨਿ ਤਖਤਿ ਸਲਾਮੁ; ਲਿਖਿਆ ਪਾਵਸੀ ॥੧੧॥

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਲਬੰਧ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸiਾਹਬ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ-ਸਿੰਘਾਸਣ ਮੂਹਰੇ ਨਿਊਦੇ ਹਨ।
They worship the Lord and bow at His Throne. They fulfill their pre-ordained destiny. ||11||

ਮਛੀ ਤਾਰੂ. ਕਿਆ ਕਰੇ; ਪੰਖੀ ਕਿਆ ਆਕਾਸੁ ॥

ਡੂੰਘਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਮੀਨ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅਸਮਾਨ ਪੰਛੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ?
What can deep water do to a fish? What can the vast sky do to a bird?
ਪਥਰ ਪਾਲਾ ਕਿਆ ਕਰੇ; ਖੁਸਰੇ ਕਿਆ ਘਰ ਵਾਸੁ ॥
pathar paalaa kiaa kare; khusare kiaa ghar vaas |
ਠੰਢਕ ਪਾਹਨ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਆਹੁੰਤਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਹਿਜੜੇ ਦਾ ਕੀ?
What can cold do to a stone? What is married life to a eunuch?
ਕੁਤੇ ਚੰਦਨੁ ਲਾਈਐ; ਭੀ ਸੋ ਕੁਤੀ ਧਾਤੁ ॥
kute chandan laaeeai; bhee so kutee dhaat |
ਕੂਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਨਣ ਮਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕੁੱਤੇ ਵਾਲੀ ਖਸਲਤ ਹੀ ਰਹੇਗੀ।
You may apply sandalwood oil to a dog, but he will still be a dog.
ਬੋਲਾ. ਜੇ ਸਮਝਾਈਐ; ਪੜੀਅਹਿ ਸਿੰਮਿ੍ਰਤਿ ਪਾਠ ॥

ਭਾਵੇਂ ਆਦਮੀ ਡੋਰੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਖ-ਮਤ ਦੇਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਤੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਧਰਮ ਅਨਵਾਦਨ ਵਾਚ ਕੇ ਸੁਣਾਵੇ।
You may try to teach a deaf person by reading the Simritees to him, but how will he learn?
ਅੰਧਾ. ਚਾਨਣਿ ਰਖੀਐ; ਦੀਵੇ ਬਲਹਿ ਪਚਾਸ ॥
andhaa. chaanan rakheeai; deeve baleh pachaas |
ਬੰਦਾ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਮੁਨਾਖੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮੂਹਰੇ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਧਰ ਦੇਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਹ ਲੈਪ ਬਾਲ ਦੇਵੇ, ਪਰ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਛ ਬੇਫਾਇਦਾ ਹੈ।
You may place a light before a blind man and burn fifty lamps, but how will he see?
ਚਉਣੇ ਸੁਇਨਾ ਪਾਈਐ; ਚੁਣਿ ਚੁਣਿ ਖਾਵੈ ਘਾਸੁ ॥
chaune sueinaa paaeeai; chun chun khaavai ghaas |
ਬੰਦਾ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਗ ਮੂਹਰੇ ਸੋਨਾ ਰੱਖ ਦੇਵੇ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਘਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਚੁਗ ਤੇ ਛਾਂਟ ਕੇ ਖਾਣਗੇ।
You may place gold before a herd of cattle, but they will pick out the grass to eat.
ਲੋਹਾ ਮਾਰਣਿ ਪਾਈਐ; ਢਹੈ. ਨ ਹੋਇ ਕਪਾਸ ॥
lohaa maaran paaeeai; dtahai. na hoe kapaas |
ਜੇਕਰ ਧਾਤ ਪਿਘਲਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਸਾਲਾ ਸਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਦਿਤਾ, ਜਾਵੇ ਇਹ ਢਲ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਕਪਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣੇਗਾ।
You may add flux to iron and melt it, but it will not become soft like cotton.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਮੂਰਖ ਏਹਿ ਗੁਣ; ਬੋਲੇ ਸਦਾ ਵਿਣਾਸੁ ॥੧॥
naanak. moorakh ehi gun; bole sadaa vinaas |1|
ਨਾਨਕ, ਬੇਵਕੂਫ ਦੀ ਖਸਲਤ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਲੇਵਾ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, this is the nature of a fool-everything he speaks is useless and wasted. ||1||

First Mehl:
ਕੈਹਾ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਤੁਟੈ ਸਾਰੁ ॥

ਜਦ ਕਾਂਸੀ, ਸੋਨਾ ਤੇ ਲੋਹਾ ਟੁਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
When pieces of bronze or gold or iron break,
ਅਗਨੀ ਗੰਢੁ ਪਾਏ ਲੋਹਾਰੁ ॥
aganee gandt paae lohaar |
ਤਾਂ ਧਾਤ ਦਾ ਕਾਰੀਗਰ ਅੱਗ ਨਾਲ ਟਾਂਕਾ ਲਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
the metal-smith welds them together again in the fire, and the bond is established.
ਗੋਰੀ ਸੇਤੀ; ਤੁਟੈ ਭਤਾਰੁ ॥

ਵਹੁਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਜਦ ਖਸਮ ਰੁੱਸ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
If a husband leaves his wife,
ਪੁਤਂੀ; ਗੰਢੁ ਪਵੈ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥
putanee; gandt pavai sansaar |
ਪੁੱਤ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਸ ਜਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੁੜ ਸੰਬਧ ਕਾਇਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
their children may bring them back together in the world, and the bond is established.
ਰਾਜਾ ਮੰਗੈ; ਦਿਤੈ ਗੰਢੁ ਪਾਇ ॥
raajaa mangai; ditai gandt paae |
ਜਦ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਕੁਛ ਤਲਬ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਦੇ ਦੇਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਸੰਬਧ ਕਾਇਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
When the king makes a demand, and it is met, the bond is established.
ਭੁਖਿਆ ਗੰਢੁ ਪਵੈ; ਜਾ ਖਾਇ ॥
bhukhiaa gandt pavai; jaa khaae |
ਭੁੱਖੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਠੰਢ ਚੈਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਦ ਉਹ ਕੁਛ ਖਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
When the hungry man eats, he is satisfied, and the bond is established.
ਕਾਲਾ ਗੰਢੁ; ਨਦੀਆ ਮੀਹ ਝੋਲ ॥
kaalaa gandt; nadeea meeh jhol |
ਕਹਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੇਕਰ ਬਾਰਸ਼ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਦੀਆਂ ਨਾਲੇ ਛੱਲਾਂ ਮਾਰਨ।
In the famine, the rain fills the streams to overflowing, and the bond is established.
ਗੰਢੁ ਪਰੀਤੀ; ਮਿਠੇ ਬੋਲ ॥

ਪਿਆਰ ਤੇ ਮਿੱਠੜੇ ਬਚਨ-ਬਿਲਾਸ ਦਾ ਮੇਲ-ਜੋਲ ਹੈ।
There is a bond between love and words of sweetness.
ਬੇਦਾ ਗੰਢੁ; ਬੋਲੇ ਸਚੁ ਕੋਇ ॥
bedaa gandt; bole sach koe |
ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਜਣਾ ਸੱਚ ਆਖੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਗੰਢ ਜੋੜ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
When one speaks the Truth, a bond is established with the Holy Scriptures.
ਮੁਇਆ ਗੰਢੁ; ਨੇਕੀ ਸਤੁ ਹੋਇ ॥

ਭਲਿਆਈ ਤੇ ਸੱਚ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮਰਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਦਾ ਜਿਉਦਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਕ ਸਨਬੰਧ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Through goodness and truth, the dead establish a bond with the living.
ਏਤੁ ਗੰਢਿ; ਵਰਤੈ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
et gandt; varatai sansaar |
ਐਹੋ ਜੇਹੇ ਮੇਲ-ਮਿਲਾਪ ਇਸ ਜਹਾਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਚਲਤ ਹਨ।
Such are the bonds which prevail in the world.
ਮੂਰਖ ਗੰਢੁ ਪਵੈ; ਮੁਹਿ ਮਾਰ ॥
moorakh gandt pavai; muhi maar |
ਬੇਵਕੂਫ ਦੇ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਦਾ ਤਰੀਕਾ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੂੰਹ ਦੀ ਮਾਰ ਖਾਏ।
The fool establishes his bonds only when he is slapped in the face.
ਨਾਨਕੁ; ਆਖੈ ਏਹੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
naanak; aakhai ehu beechaar |
ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹ ਕੁਛ ਯੋਗ ਸੋਚ ਵੀਚਾਰ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Nanak says this after deep reflection:
ਸਿਫਤੀ; ਗੰਢੁ ਪਵੈ ਦਰਬਾਰਿ ॥੨॥

ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ ਸਨਾ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਕਾਇਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
through the Lord's Praise, we establish a bond with His Court. ||2||

ਆਪੇ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਸਾਜਿ ਕੈ; ਆਪੇ ਕਰੇ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
aape kudarat saaj kai; aape kare beechaar |
ਆਪੇ ਆਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਰਚ ਕੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਖਿਆਲ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
He Himself created and adorned the Universe, and He Himself contemplates it.
ਇਕਿ ਖੋਟੇ ਇਕਿ ਖਰੇ; ਆਪੇ ਪਰਖਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
eik khotte ik khare; aape parakhanahaar |
ਕਈ ਕੂੜੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਕਈ ਸੱਚੇ। ਸਾਹਿਬ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਨਿਰਖ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
Some are counterfeit, and some are genuine. He Himself is the Appraiser.
ਖਰੇ. ਖਜਾਨੈ ਪਾਈਅਹਿ; ਖੋਟੇ. ਸਟੀਅਹਿ ਬਾਹਰ ਵਾਰਿ ॥
khare. khajaanai paaeeeh; khotte. satteeeh baahar vaar |
ਅਸਲੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਸ਼ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਾ ਦਿਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਦ ਕਿ ਜਾਲ੍ਹੀ ਬਾਹਰ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
The genuine are placed in His Treasury, while the counterfeit are thrown away.
ਖੋਟੇ ਸਚੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਸੁਟੀਅਹਿ; ਕਿਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਕਰਹਿ ਪੁਕਾਰ ॥
khotte sachee daragah sutteeeh; kis aagai kareh pukaar |
ਝੂਠੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਸੁਟੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਕੀਹਦੇ ਮੂਹਰੇ ਫਰਿਆਦ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
The counterfeit are thrown out of the True Court-unto whom should they complain?
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਿਛੈ ਭਜਿ ਪਵਹਿ; ਏਹਾ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਾਰੁ ॥
satigur pichhai bhaj paveh; ehaa karanee saar |
ਉਹ ਦੌੜ ਕੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਣਾਗਤ ਜਾਂ ਡਿੱਗਣ, ਇਹ ਹੀ ਦਰੁਸਤ ਜੀਵਨ ਰਹੁ-ਰੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
They should worship and follow the True Guru-this is the lifestyle of excellence.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ. ਖੋਟਿਅਹੁ ਖਰੇ ਕਰੇ; ਸਬਦਿ ਸਵਾਰਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
satigur. khottiahu khare kare; sabad savaaranahaar |
ਸਚਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਸਸ਼ੋਭਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
The True Guru converts the counterfeit into genuine; through the Word of the Shabad, He embellishes and exalts us.
ਸਚੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਮੰਨੀਅਨਿ; ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥

ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਰਹੜੀ ਪਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਾਣੀ ਸੱਚੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਡਿਆਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who have enshrined love and affection for the Guru, are honored in the True Court.
ਗਣਤ ਤਿਨਾ ਦੀ ਕੋ ਕਿਆ ਕਰੇ; ਜੋ. ਆਪਿ ਬਖਸੇ ਕਰਤਾਰਿ ॥੧੨॥

ਜਿਨ੍ਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਨੇ ਖੁਦ ਮਾਫੀ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਕੌਣ ਗਿਣ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੇ?
Who can estimate the value of those who have been forgiven by the Creator Lord Himself? ||12||

ਸਲੋਕ, ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
Salok, First Mehl:
ਹਮ ਜੇਰ ਜਿਮੀ. ਦੁਨੀਆ; ਪੀਰਾ ਮਸਾਇਕਾ ਰਾਇਆ ॥

ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰੂਹਾਨੀ ਰਹਿਬਰ ਊਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਜੇ ਜਮੀਨ ਦੇ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਹਨ।
All the spiritual teachers, their disciples and the rulers of the world shall be buried under the ground.
ਮੇ ਰਵਦਿ ਬਾਦਿਸਾਹਾ; ਅਫਜੂ ਖੁਦਾਇ ॥
me ravad baadisaahaa; afajoo khudaae |
ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਟੁਰ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਕੇਵਲ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਹੀ ਸਦੀਵ ਪ੍ਰਫੁਲਤ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
The emperors shall also pass away; God alone is Eternal.
ਏਕ ਤੂਹੀ. ਏਕ ਤੁਹੀ ॥੧॥

ਕੇਵਲ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ, ਕੇਵਲ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!
You alone, Lord, You alone. ||1||

ਨ ਦੇਵ ਦਾਨਵਾ; ਨਰਾ ॥

ਨਾਂ ਦੇਵਤੇ, ਦੈਂਤ ਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ,
Neither the angels, nor the demons, nor human beings,
ਨ ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕਾ ਧਰਾ ॥
n sidh saadhikaa dharaa |
ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਕਰਾਮਾਤੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਅਭਿਆਸੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ।
Nor the Siddhas, nor the seekers shall remain on the earth.
ਅਸਤਿ ਏਕ; ਦਿਗਰਿ ਕੁਈ ॥

ਕੇਵਲ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੀ ਹੈ। ਹੋਰ ਕੌਣ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
