ਕਬ ਚੰਦਨਿ. ਕਬ ਅਕਿ ਡਾਲਿ; ਕਬ ਉਚੀ ਪਰੀਤਿ ॥
kab chandan. kab ak ddaal; kab uchee pareet |
ਕਦੇ ਇਹ ਚੰਨਣ ਦੇ ਬਿਰਛ ਅਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਅੱਕ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਣੀ ਤੇ ਬੈਠਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਦੇ ਇਹ ਊਚੇ ਉਡੱਣ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Sometimes it is perched on the sandalwood tree, and sometimes it is on the branch of the poisonous swallow-wort. Sometimes, it soars through the heavens.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਹੁਕਮਿ ਚਲਾਈਐ; ਸਾਹਿਬ ਲਗੀ ਰੀਤਿ ॥੨॥

ਨਾਨਕ, ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਜਾ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਟੋਰਣ ਦੇ ਸੁਭਾਵ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਤ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, our Lord and Master leads us on, according to the Hukam of His Command; such is His Way. ||2||

Pauree:
ਕੇਤੇ ਕਹਹਿ ਵਖਾਣ; ਕਹਿ ਕਹਿ ਜਾਵਣਾ ॥
kete kaheh vakhaan; keh keh jaavanaa |
ਕਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਮਝਾਉਂਦੇ ਤੇ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਰਨਣ ਤੇ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਟੁਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Some speak and expound, and while speaking and lecturing, they pass away.
ਵੇਦ ਕਹਹਿ ਵਖਿਆਣ; ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਵਣਾ ॥

ਵੇਦ, ਸਾਹਿਬ ਬਾਰੇ ਆਖਦੇ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਓੜਕ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ।
The Vedas speak and expound on the Lord, but they do not know His limits.
ਪੜਿਐ. ਨਾਹੀ ਭੇਦੁ; ਬੁਝਿਐ ਪਾਵਣਾ ॥

ਵਾਚਣ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ, ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਸਮਝਣ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਭੇਤ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Not by studying, but through understanding, is the Lord's Mystery revealed.
ਖਟੁ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੈ ਭੇਖਿ; ਕਿਸੈ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵਣਾ ॥
khatt darasan kai bhekh; kisai sach samaavanaa |
ਛੇ ਹਨ ਮੱਤ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰਾਂ ਦੇ, ਪਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਹੀ ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਅੰਦਰਲੀਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
There are six pathways in the Shaastras, but how rare are those who merge in the True Lord through them.
ਸਚਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਅਲਖੁ; ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਹਾਵਣਾ ॥

ਸੱਚੇ ਤੇ ਅਗਾਧ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਸ਼ੋਭਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The True Lord is Unknowable; through the Word of His Shabad, we are embellished.
ਮੰਨੇ ਨਾਉ ਬਿਸੰਖ; ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਵਣਾ ॥
mane naau bisankh; daragah paavanaa |
ਜੋ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਿਸਚਾ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ੳਸ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
One who believes in the Name of the Infinite Lord, attains the Court of the Lord.
ਖਾਲਕ ਕਉ ਆਦੇਸੁ; ਢਾਢੀ ਗਾਵਣਾ ॥

ਮੈਂ ਕੀਰਤਨੀਆਂ, ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਅਲਾਪਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
I humbly bow to the Creator Lord; I am a minstrel singing His Praises.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਏਕੁ; ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਵਣਾ ॥੨੧॥

ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ, ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸਮੂਹ ਯੁਗਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਕੇਵਲ ਇੱਕ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
Nanak enshrines the Lord within his mind. He is the One, throughout the ages. ||21||

ਸਲੋਕ, ਦੂਸਰੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
Salok, Second Mehl:
ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਹੋਇ ਅਠੂਹਿਆ; ਨਾਗੀ ਲਗੈ ਜਾਇ ॥

ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਬਿਛੂਆਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਂਦ੍ਰੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਤੇ ਸੰਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਹੱਥ ਪਾ ਲਵੇ,
Those who charm scorpions and handle snakes
ਆਪਣ ਹਥੀ ਆਪਣੈ; ਦੇ ਕੂਚਾ ਆਪੇ ਲਾਇ ॥
aapan hathee aapanai; de koochaa aape laae |
ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਆਤਾ ਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Only brand themselves with their own hands.
ਹੁਕਮੁ ਪਇਆ. ਧੁਰਿ ਖਸਮ ਕਾ; ਅਤੀ ਹੂ ਧਕਾ ਖਾਇ ॥

ਐਨ ਆਰੰਭ ਤੋਂ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਫੁਰਮਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਊਹ ਮਹਾਨ ਭਾਰੀ ਠੋਕਰ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
By the pre-ordained Order of our Lord and Master, they are beaten badly, and struck down.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸਿਉ. ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਅੜੈ; ਡੁਬੈ. ਹਕਿ ਨਿਆਇ ॥

ਅਧਰਮੀ ਜੋ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਇਟ-ਖੜਕਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਨੇਸਤੋ-ਨਾਬੂਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਹੈ ਸੱਚਾ ਇਨਸਾਫ।
If the self-willed manmukhs fight with the Gurmukh, they are condemned by the Lord, the True Judge.
ਦੁਹਾ ਸਿਰਿਆ. ਆਪੇ ਖਸਮੁ; ਵੇਖੈ. ਕਰਿ ਵਿਉਪਾਇ ॥
duhaa siriaa. aape khasam; vekhai. kar viaupaae |
ਉਹ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੈ, ਦੇਖਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
He Himself is the Lord and Master of both worlds. He beholds all and makes the exact determination.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਏਵੈ ਜਾਣੀਐ; ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਰਜਾਇ ॥੧॥

ਨਾਨਕ, ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਐਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਮਝ ਕਿ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਰਜਾ ਮਰਜੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, know this well: everything is in accordance with His Will. ||1||

ਦੂਸਰੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
Second Mehl:
ਨਾਨਕ. ਪਰਖੇ ਆਪ ਕਉ; ਤਾ ਪਾਰਖੁ ਜਾਣੁ ॥
naanak. parakhe aap kau; taa paarakh jaan |
ਨਾਨਕ, ਜੇਕਰ ਬੰਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਸਿਨਾਖਤ ਕਰ ਲਵੇ, ਕੇਵਲ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਿਨਾਖਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਮਝ।
O Nanak, if someone judges himself, only then is he known as a real judge.
ਰੋਗੁ ਦਾਰੂ ਦੋਵੈ ਬੁਝੈ; ਤਾ ਵੈਦੁ ਸੁਜਾਣੁ ॥
rog daaroo dovai bujhai; taa vaid sujaan |
ਜੇਕਰ ਬੰਦਾ ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਤੇ ਦਵਾਈ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ਹਕੀਮ ਜਾਣ।
If someone understands both the disease and the medicine, only then is he a wise physician.
ਵਾਟ. ਨ ਕਰਈ ਮਾਮਲਾ; ਜਾਣੈ ਮਿਹਮਾਣੁ ॥
vaatt. na karee maamalaa; jaanai mihamaan |
ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਅਡੰਬਰ ਰਚਨਾ ਉਚਿਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਹੁਣਾ ਸਮਝਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
Do not involve yourself in idle business on the way; remember that you are only a guest here.
ਮੂਲੁ ਜਾਣਿ ਗਲਾ ਕਰੇ; ਹਾਣਿ ਲਾਏ ਹਾਣੁ ॥
mool jaan galaa kare; haan laae haan |
ਊਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਦੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਨਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਬਾਤ ਕਰਨੀ ਲੋੜੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਨੀਕਾਰਕ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
Speak with those who know the Primal Lord, and renounce your evil ways.
ਲਬਿ. ਨ ਚਲਈ. ਸਚਿ ਰਹੈ; ਸੋ ਵਿਸਟੁ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥
lab. na chalee. sach rahai; so visatt paravaan |
ਉਹ ਨੇਕ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਜੋ ਲਾਲਚ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਟੁਰਦਾ ਤੇ ਸੱਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਬੂਲ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
That virtuous person who does not walk in the way of greed, and who abides in Truth, is accepted and famous.
ਸਰੁ ਸੰਧੇ ਆਗਾਸ ਕਉ; ਕਿਉ ਪਹੁਚੈ ਬਾਣੁ ॥
sar sandhe aagaas kau; kiau pahuchai baan |
ਜੇਕਰ ਨੇਕ ਤੀਰ ਅਸਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ, ਜਾਵੇ, ਉਹ ਤੀਰ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਥੇ ਪੁੱਜ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
If an arrow is shot at the sky, how can it reach there?
ਅਗੈ. ਓਹੁ ਅਗੰਮੁ ਹੈ; ਵਾਹੇਦੜੁ ਜਾਣੁ ॥੨॥

ਊਪਰ ਉਹ ਅਸਮਾਨ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇਡੇ ਹੈ। ਸਮਝ ਲੈ ਕਿ ਤੀਰ, ਤੀਰ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਲਗੇਗਾ।
The sky above is unreachable-know this well, O archer! ||2||

ਨਾਰੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਪਿਆਰੁ; ਪ੍ਰੇਮਿ ਸੀਗਾਰੀਆ ॥

ਪਤਨੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਹੱਬਤ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
The soul-bride loves her Husband Lord; she is embellished with His Love.
ਕਰਨਿ ਭਗਤਿ. ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ; ਨ ਰਹਨੀ. ਵਾਰੀਆ ॥
karan bhagat. din raat; na rahanee. vaareea |
ਦਿਹੁੰ ਰੈਣ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਮਈ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਮਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਰੋਕਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਰੁਕਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ।
She worships Him day and night; she cannot be restrained from doing so.
ਮਹਲਾ ਮੰਝਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ; ਸਬਦਿ ਸਵਾਰੀਆ ॥

ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਵਸੇਬਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਊਹ ਸਜੀ ਧਜੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
In the Mansion of the Lord's Presence, she has made her home; she is adorned with the Word of His Shabad.
ਸਚੁ ਕਹਨਿ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ; ਸੇ ਵੇਚਾਰੀਆ ॥
sach kehan aradaas; se vechaareea |
ਉਹ ਮਸਕੀਨ ਸੱਚੇ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾਂ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
She is humble, and she offers her true and sincere prayer.
ਸੋਹਨਿ ਖਸਮੈ ਪਾਸਿ; ਹੁਕਮਿ ਸਿਧਾਰੀਆ ॥
sohan khasamai paas; hukam sidhaareea |
ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਫੁਰਮਾਨ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਤੁਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
She is beautiful in the Company of her Lord and Master; she walks in the Way of His Will.
ਸਖੀ ਕਹਨਿ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ; ਮਨਹੁ ਪਿਆਰੀਆ ॥
sakhee kehan aradaas; manahu piaareea |
ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਦਿਲੀ ਤੇ ਸਨੇਹੀ ਸਹੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਆਖਦੀ ਹੈ।
With her dear friends, she offers her heart-felt prayers to her Beloved.
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ. ਧਿ੍ਰਗੁ ਵਾਸੁ; ਫਿਟੁ ਸੁ ਜੀਵਿਆ ॥
bin naavai. dhrig vaas; fitt su jeeviaa |
ਲਾਨ੍ਹਤ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਵਾਸਾ, ਅਤੇ ਧ੍ਰਿਕਾਰ ਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਜੀਵਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੋ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਹਨ।
Cursed is that home, and shameful is that life, which is without the Name of the Lord.
ਸਬਦਿ ਸਵਾਰੀਆਸੁ; ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤੁ ਪੀਵਿਆ ॥੨੨॥

ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਧਾ-ਰਸ ਪਾਨ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
But she who is adorned with the Word of His Shabad, drinks in the Amrit of His Nectar. ||22||

ਰੇਤਲਾ ਥਲ ਬਾਰਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਤੁਸ਼ਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਗ ਦੀ ਖੁਦਿਆ ਨਵਿਰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।
The desert is not satisfied by rain, and the fire is not quenched by desire.
ਰਾਜਾ. ਰਾਜਿ ਨ ਤਿ੍ਰਪਤਿਆ; ਸਾਇਰ ਭਰੇ. ਕਿਸੁਕ ॥

ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹਤ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਜਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਕਦੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ?
The king is not satisfied with his kingdom, and the oceans are full, but still they thirst for more.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਕੀ; ਕੇਤੀ ਪੁਛਾ ਪੁਛ ॥੧॥

ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਿੰਨੀਆਂ ਪੁੱਛਾਂ ਗਿੱਛਾਂ ਕਰੇ? ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਕਦਾਚਿਤ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।
O Nanak, how many times must I seek and ask for the True Name? ||1||

ਨਿਹਫਲੰ. ਤਸਿ ਜਨਮਸਿ; ਜਾਵਤੁ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ. ਨ ਬਿੰਦਤੇ ॥

ਜਦ ਤਾਈਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਨਿਸਫਲ ਹੈ।
Life is useless, as long as one does not know the Lord God.
ਸਾਗਰੰ ਸੰਸਾਰਸਿ; ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਤਰਹਿ ਕੇ ॥
saagaran sansaaras; gur parasaadee tareh ke |
ਜਗਤ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਹੀ ਪਾਰ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Only a few cross over the world-ocean, by Guru's Grace.
ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਹੈ; ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥

ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਨੇਪਰੇ ਚਾੜ੍ਹਨ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ। ਗੂੜ੍ਹੀ ਸੋਚ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Lord is the All-powerful Cause of causes, says Nanak after deep deliberation.
ਕਾਰਣੁ ਕਰਤੇ ਵਸਿ ਹੈ; ਜਿਨਿ ਕਲ ਰਖੀ ਧਾਰਿ ॥੨॥

ਰਚਨਾ ਰਚਣਹਾਰ ਦੇ ਅਖਤਿਆਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਆਪਣੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਸਰਾ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
The creation is subject to the Creator, who sustains it by His Almighty Power. ||2||

ਖਸਮੈ ਕੈ ਦਰਬਾਰਿ; ਢਾਢੀ ਵਸਿਆ ॥

ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਅੰਦਰ ਭੱਟ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
In the Court of the Lord and Master, His minstrels dwell.
ਸਚਾ ਖਸਮੁ ਕਲਾਣਿ; ਕਮਲੁ ਵਿਗਸਿਆ ॥
sachaa khasam kalaan; kamal vigasiaa |
ਸੱਚੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦਿਲ ਕੰਵਲ ਖਿੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Singing the Praises of their True Lord and Master, the lotuses of their hearts have blossomed forth.
ਖਸਮਹੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇ; ਮਨਹੁ ਰਹਸਿਆ ॥

ਮਾਲਕ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਪੂਰਨ ਗਿਆਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਪਰਮ ਪਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
Obtaining their Perfect Lord and Master, their minds are transfixed with ecstasy.
ਦੁਸਮਨ ਕਢੇ ਮਾਰਿ; ਸਜਣ ਸਰਸਿਆ ॥
dusaman kadte maar; sajan sarasiaa |
ਵੈਰੀ ਮਾਰ ਕੁੱਟ ਕੇ ਪਰੇ ਹਟਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ, ਸੋ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
Their enemies have been driven out and subdued, and their friends are very pleased.
ਸਚਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਨਿ; ਸਚਾ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਦਸਿਆ ॥
sachaa satigur sevan; sachaa maarag dasiaa |
ਸਹੀ ਰਸਤਾ ਉਹਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਖਾਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
