ਅਮਰ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਵਿਆਹੁਤਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਸੋਚ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਉਚੇਰਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਲਾੜ੍ਹਾ, ਹੇ ਗੋਲੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਸਹਿਤ ਹੈ।
Her marriage is eternal; her Husband is Inaccessible and Incomprehensible. O Servant Nanak, His Love is her only Support. ||4||4||11||

ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ; ਦਰਸਨ ਚਾਹੇ ॥

ਤੈਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਦਾ ਤੇ ਭਾਲਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦਾ ਚਾਹਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ।
I have searched and searched, seeking the Blessed Vision of His Darshan.
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ; ਬਨ ਬਨ ਅਵਗਾਹੇ ॥
bhaat bhaat; ban ban avagaahe |
ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੰਗਲ ਤੇ ਬੇਲੇ ਮੈਂ ਗਾਹੇ ਹਨ।
I travelled through all sorts of woods and forests.
ਨਿਰਗੁਣੁ ਸਰਗੁਣੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਰਾ; ਕੋਈ ਹੈ ਜੀਉ. ਆਣਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥

ਕੀ ਕੋਈ ਐਸਾ ਜੀਵ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ, ਜੋ ਇਕ ਸਾਥ ਗੁਪਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੈ, ਕੋਲਿ ਲੈ ਜਾਵੇ ਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇਵੇ?
My Lord, Har, Har, is both absolute and related, unmanifest and manifest; is there anyone who can come and unite me with Him? ||1||
ਖਟੁ ਸਾਸਤ; ਬਿਚਰਤ ਮੁਖਿ ਗਿਆਨਾ ॥
khatt saasat; bicharat mukh giaanaa |
ਕੋਈ ਛੇ ਫਲਸਫੇ ਦੇ ਮਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਆਤ ਨੂੰ ਮੂੰਹ-ਜ਼ਬਾਨੀ ਪਿਆ ਪੜ੍ਹ।
People recite from memory the wisdom of the six schools of philosophy;
ਪੂਜਾ ਤਿਲਕੁ; ਤੀਰਥ ਇਸਨਾਨਾ ॥
poojaa tilak; teerath isanaanaa |
ਉਹ ਉਪਾਸ਼ਨਾ ਕਰੇ, ਟਿੱਕਾ ਲਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਮ ਅਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਨਾਹੁਣਾ ਕਰੇ।
they perform worship services, wear ceremonial religious marks on their foreheads, and take ritual cleansing baths at sacred shrines of pilgrimage.
ਨਿਵਲੀ ਕਰਮ ਆਸਨ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ; ਇਨ ਮਹਿ. ਸਾਂਤਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
nivalee karam aasan chauraaseeh; in meh. saant na aavai jeeo |2|
ਉਹ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਾਫ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਆ ਕਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਗੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਚੁਰਾਸੀ ਬੈਠਣ ਦੇ ਢੰਗ ਭੀ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਲਵੇ, ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਠੰਢ ਚੈਨ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣੀ।
They perform the inner cleansing practice with water and adopt the eighty-four Yogic postures; but still, they find no peace in any of these. ||2||
ਅਨਿਕ ਬਰਖ; ਕੀਏ ਜਪ ਤਾਪਾ ॥

ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਪਾਠ ਤੇ ਤਪਸਿਆ ਪਿਆ ਕਰੇ,
They chant and meditate, practicing austere self-discipline for years and years;
ਗਵਨੁ ਕੀਆ; ਧਰਤੀ ਭਰਮਾਤਾ ॥
gavan keea; dharatee bharamaataa |
ਤੇ ਉਹ ਚੱਕਰ ਕਟੇ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਿਮੀ ਉਤੇ ਭਊਦਾ ਫਿਰੇ।
they wander on journeys all over the earth;
ਇਕੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਹਿਰਦੈ. ਸਾਂਤਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਜੋਗੀ; ਬਹੁੜਿ ਬਹੁੜਿ. ਉਠਿ ਧਾਵੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥

ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਇਕ ਮੁਹਤ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਠੰਢ-ਚੈਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਗੀ ਦਾ ਮਨੂਆ ਖੜਾ ਹੋ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਦੌੜਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
and yet, their hearts are not at peace, even for an instant. The Yogi rises up and goes out, over and over again. ||3||
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ; ਮੋਹਿ ਸਾਧੁ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥
kar kirapaa; mohi saadh milaaeaa |
ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੰਤ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ।
By His Mercy, I have met the Holy Saint.
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ; ਧੀਰਜੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
man tan seetal; dheeraj paaeaa |
ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਠੰਢੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹੌਸਲਾ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
My mind and body have been cooled and soothed; I have been blessed with patience and composure.
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਬਸਿਆ ਘਟ ਭੀਤਰਿ; ਹਰਿ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਗਾਵੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੫॥੧੨॥
prabh abinaasee basiaa ghatt bheetar; har mangal naanak gaavai jeeo |4|5|12|
ਅਮਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤੀ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Immortal Lord God has come to dwell within my heart. Nanak sings the songs of joy to the Lord. ||4||5||12||

ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੱਦ ਬੰਨਾ-ਰਹਿਤ, ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਵਾਨ, ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ,
The Supreme Lord God is Infinite and Divine;
ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਵਾ ॥
agam agochar alakh abhevaa |
ਸੋਚ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਉਚੇਰਾ ਆਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਅਤੇ ਭੇਦ-ਰਹਿਤ ਹੈ।
He is Inaccessible, Incomprehensible, Invisible and Inscrutable.
ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਗੋਬਿੰਦਾ; ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ. ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗਾਤੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
deen deaal gopaal gobindaa; har dhiaavahu. guramukh gaatee jeeo |1|
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਤੇ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ, ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਆਲਮ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਤਾਬੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਅਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਦੀ ਪਰਾਪਤੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
Merciful to the meek, Sustainer of the World, Lord of the Universe-meditating on the Lord, the Gurmukhs find salvation. ||1||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਧੁਸੂਦਨੁ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥
guramukh madhusoodan nisataare |
ਗੁਰਾ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਮਧ ਰਾਖਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਾਰਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Gurmukhs are emancipated by the Lord.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੰਗੀ; ਕਿ੍ਰਸਨ ਮੁਰਾਰੇ ॥
guramukh sangee; krisan muraare |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਹੰਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਵੈਰੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਸਾਥੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Lord Krishna becomes the Gurmukh's Companion.
ਦਇਆਲ ਦਮੋਦਰੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਈਐ; ਹੋਰਤੁ ਕਿਤੈ ਨ ਭਾਤੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਸੀਲੇ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪੇਟ ਉਦਾਲੇ ਰੱਸੀ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਮਾਲਕ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
The Gurmukh finds the Merciful Lord. He is not found any other way. ||2||
ਨਿਰਹਾਰੀ ਕੇਸਵ ਨਿਰਵੈਰਾ ॥
nirahaaree kesav niravairaa |
ਨਾਂ ਖਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਸੁੰਦਰ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਨੀ-ਰਹਿਤ ਹੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ,
He does not need to eat; His Hair is Wondrous and Beautiful; He is free of hate.
ਕੋਟਿ ਜਨਾ; ਜਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਜਹਿ ਪੈਰਾ ॥
kott janaa; jaa ke poojeh pairaa |
ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾ ਹੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸ਼ਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Millions of people worship His Feet.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ; ਸੋਈ ਭਗਤੁ ਇਕਾਤੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
guramukh hiradai jaa kai har har; soee bhagat ikaatee jeeo |3|
ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹੀ ਅਨਿੰਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
He alone is a devotee, who becomes Gurmukh, whose heart is filled with the Lord, Har, Har. ||3||
ਅਮੋਘ ਦਰਸਨ; ਬੇਅੰਤ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
amogh darasan; beant apaaraa |
ਸਦੀਵੀ ਸਫਲ ਹੈ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਅਨੰਤ ਤੇ ਲਾਸਾਨੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ!
Forever fruitful is the Blessed Vision of His Darshan; He is Infinite and Incomparable.
ਵਡ ਸਮਰਥੁ; ਸਦਾ ਦਾਤਾਰਾ ॥
vadd samarath; sadaa daataaraa |
ਮਾਲਕ ਪਰਮ ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
He is Awesome and All-powerful; He is forever the Great Giver.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀਐ ਤਿਤੁ ਤਰੀਐ; ਗਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ. ਵਿਰਲੀ ਜਾਤੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੬॥੧੩॥
guramukh naam japeeai tith tareeai; gat naanak. viralee jaatee jeeo |4|6|13|
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ, ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਨਕ! ਕੋਈ ਟਾਵਾਂ ਹੀ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਇਸ ਦਸ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ।
As Gurmukh, chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and you shall be carried across. O Nanak, rare are those who know this state! ||4||6||13||

ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਮੈਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਮੈਂ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
As You command, I obey; as You give, I receive.
ਗਰੀਬਾ ਅਨਾਥਾ; ਤੇਰਾ ਮਾਣਾ ॥
gareebaa anaathaa; teraa maanaa |
ਮਸਕੀਨ ਤੇ ਨਿਖਸਮੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਫਖਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
You are the Pride of the meek and the poor.
ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਤੂੰਹੈ. ਤੂੰਹੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ; ਤੇਰੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਕਉ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
sabh kichh toonhai. toonhai mere piaare; teree kudarat kau bal jaaee jeeo |1|
ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਅਪਾਰ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
You are everything; You are my Beloved. I am a sacrifice to Your Creative Power. ||1||
ਭਾਣੈ ਉਝੜ; ਭਾਣੈ ਰਾਹਾ ॥
bhaanai ujharr; bhaanai raahaa |
ਤੇਰੀ ਰਜਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਹ ਠੀਕ ਰਸਤਾ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
By Your Will, we wander in the wilderness; by Your Will, we find the path.
ਭਾਣੈ; ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗਾਵਾਹਾ ॥
bhaanai; har gun guramukh gaavaahaa |
ਤੇਰੀ ਰਜਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਹ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
By Your Will, we become Gurmukh and sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
ਭਾਣੈ. ਭਰਮਿ ਭਵੈ ਬਹੁ ਜੂਨੀ; ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਤਿਸੈ ਰਜਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
bhaanai. bharam bhavai bahu joonee; sabh kichh tisai rajaaee jeeo |2|
ਤੇਰੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਹਿਮ ਦੇ ਸਬੱਬ, ਉਹ ਘਨੇਰੀਆਂ ਜੂਨੀਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਛ ਉਸ ਹਾਕਮ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਤਾਬੇ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
By Your Will, we wander in doubt through countless lifetimes. Everything happens by Your Will. ||2||
ਨਾ ਕੋ ਮੂਰਖੁ; ਨਾ ਕੋ ਸਿਆਣਾ ॥
naa ko moorakh; naa ko siaanaa |
ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ, ਨਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਬੇਵਕੂਫ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਅਕਲਮੰਦ।
No one is foolish, and no one is clever.
ਵਰਤੈ ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ; ਤੇਰਾ ਭਾਣਾ ॥
varatai sabh kichh; teraa bhaanaa |
ਹਰ ਸਥਾਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਹੀ ਕਾਰਗਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
Your Will determines everything;
ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਅਥਾਹਾ; ਤੇਰੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ. ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ. ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
agam agochar beant athaahaa; teree keemat. kehan na jaaee. jeeo |3|
ਤੂੰ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ, ਸਮਝ ਸੋਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇਡੇ ਅਨੰਤ ਅਤੇ ਅਗਾਧ ਹੈ। ਤੇਰਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਦਸਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ!
You are Inaccessible, Incomprehensible, Infinite and Unfathomable. Your Value cannot be expressed. ||3||
ਖਾਕੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ; ਦੇਹੁ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
khaak santan kee; dehu piaare |
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੁੜ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ!
Please bless me with the dust of the Saints, O my Beloved.
ਆਇ ਪਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਦੁਆਰੈ ॥
aae peaa har terai duaarai |
ਮੈਂ ਆ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਬੂਹੇ ਤੇ ਡਿੱਗਾ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ, ਹੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ।
I have come and fallen at Your Door, O Lord.
ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪੇਖਤ. ਮਨੁ ਆਘਾਵੈ; ਨਾਨਕ. ਮਿਲਣੁ ਸੁਭਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੭॥੧੪॥

ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦੇਖਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਧ੍ਰਾਪ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਅਤੇ ਸੁਖੈਨ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
Gazing upon the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, my mind is fulfilled. O Nanak, with natural ease, I merge into Him. ||4||7||14||
ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

ਮਾਝ, ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
Maajh, Fifth Mehl:
ਦੁਖੁ ਤਦੇ; ਜਾ ਵਿਸਰਿ ਜਾਵੈ ॥
dukh tade; jaa visar jaavai |
ਕੇਵਲ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਉਠਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
They forget the Lord, and they suffer in pain.
ਭੁਖ ਵਿਆਪੈ; ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਧਾਵੈ ॥
bhukh viaapai; bahu bidh dhaavai |
ਖੁਦਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਤਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਉਹ ਘਨੇਰਿਆਂ ਰਾਹਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਦੌੜਦਾ ਹੈ।
Afflicted with hunger, they run around in all directions.
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ; ਜਿਸੁ ਦੇਵੈ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
simarat naam sadaa suhelaa; jis devai deen deaalaa jeeo |1|
ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਅਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਉਹ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਲਈ ਸੁਖੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਸਕੀਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਰਹਿਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Meditating in remembrance on the Naam, they are happy forever. The Lord, Merciful to the meek, bestows it upon them. ||1||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਰਾ; ਵਡ ਸਮਰਥਾ ॥
satigur meraa; vadd samarathaa |
ਮੇਰਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਾਨ ਹੈ।
My True Guru is absolutely All-powerful.
