ਨਾਨਕ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਅਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰੀ ਬਚ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
O Nanak, the Gurmukhs are saved, by contemplating the True Name. ||1||

ਗਲਂੀ ਅਸੀ ਚੰਗੀਆ; ਆਚਾਰੀ ਬੁਰੀਆਹ ॥

ਗੱਲਾ ਬਾਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸੀਂ ਭਲੀਆਂ ਹਾਂ, ਪਰ ਅਮਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੈੜੀਆਂ।
We are good at talking, but our actions are bad.
ਮਨਹੁ ਕੁਸੁਧਾ ਕਾਲੀਆ; ਬਾਹਰਿ ਚਿਟਵੀਆਹ ॥
manahu kusudhaa kaaleea; baahar chittaveeaah |
ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸੀਂ ਮਲੀਨ ਤੇ ਸਿਆਹ ਹਾਂ, ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਬਾਹਰਵਾਰੇ ਸੂਫੈਦ।
Mentally, we are impure and black, but outwardly, we appear white.
ਰੀਸਾ ਕਰਿਹ ਤਿਨਾੜੀਆ; ਜੋ ਸੇਵਹਿ. ਦਰੁ ਖੜੀਆਹ ॥

ਅਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਰਾਬਰੀ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਬੂਹੇ ਖਲੋਤੀਆਂ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
We imitate those who stand and serve at the Lord's Door.
ਨਾਲਿ ਖਸਮੈ ਰਤੀਆ; ਮਾਣਹਿ ਸੁਖਿ ਰਲੀਆਹ ॥
naal khasamai rateea; maaneh sukh raleeaah |
ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਤ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਜੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕਲੋਲ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਲੈਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
They are attuned to the Love of their Husband Lord, and they experience the pleasure of His Love.
ਹੋਦੈ ਤਾਣਿ. ਨਿਤਾਣੀਆ; ਰਹਹਿ ਨਿਮਾਨਣੀਆਹ ॥

ਤਾਕਤ ਦੇ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਸੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਉਹ ਬੇ-ਤਾਕਤੀਆਂ ਵਿਚਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਆਜਿਜ਼ ਤੇ ਮਸਕੀਨ ਹਨ।
They remain powerless, even while they have power; they remain humble and meek.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਜਨਮੁ ਸਕਾਰਥਾ; ਜੇ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਹ ॥੨॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਡੀਆਂ ਜਿੰਦਗੀਆਂ ਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਜੇਕਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ (ਐਸੀਆਂ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ) ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਲ-ਮਿਲਾਪ ਕਰੀਏ।
O Nanak, our lives become profitable if we associate with them. ||2||

ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਜਲੁ. ਮੀਨਾ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ; ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਆਪਿ ਜਾਲੁ ॥

ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਹੈਂ ਤੇ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਮੱਛੀ। ਤੂੰ ਖੁਦ-ਬ-ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਹੈਂ।
You Yourself are the water, You Yourself are the fish, and You Yourself are the net.
ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਜਾਲੁ ਵਤਾਇਦਾ; ਆਪੇ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੇਬਾਲੁ ॥

ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਫੰਧੇ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਟਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ (ਉਪਰ) ਦਾ ਜਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ!
You Yourself cast the net, and You Yourself are the bait.
ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਕਮਲੁ ਅਲਿਪਤੁ ਹੈ; ਸੈ ਹਥਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਗੁਲਾਲੁ ॥
toon aape kamal alipat hai; sai hathaa vich gulaal |
ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੈਕੜੇ ਹੱਥ ਡੂੰਘੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੂੜ੍ਹੇ ਲਾਲ ਰੰਗ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਕੰਵਲ ਹੈ।
You Yourself are the lotus, unaffected and still brightly-colored in hundreds of feet of water.
ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕਰਾਇਦਾ; ਇਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਘੜੀ ਕਰਿ ਖਿਆਲੁ ॥

ਤੂੰ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦ-ਖਲਾਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਇਕ ਅੱਖ ਦੇ ਫੋਰੇ ਜਾਂ ਮੁਹਤ ਭਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
You Yourself liberate those who think of You for even an instant.
ਹਰਿ ਤੁਧਹੁ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਹੀ; ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਵੇਖਿ ਨਿਹਾਲੁ ॥੭॥
har tudhahu baahar kichh nahee; gurasabadee vekh nihaal |7|
ਹੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! ਤੇਰੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇਡੇ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ। ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਜਰੀਏ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮ-ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹਾਂ।
O Lord, nothing is beyond You. I am delighted to behold You, through the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ||7||
ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੩ ॥

ਸਲੋਕ, ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
Salok, Third Mehl:
ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ; ਬਹੁਤਾ ਰੋਵੈ ॥
hukam na jaanai; bahutaa rovai |
ਜੋ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਫੁਰਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੀ ਉਹ ਘਣਾ ਵਿਰਲਾਪ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
One who does not know the Hukam of the Lord's Command cries out in terrible pain.
ਅੰਦਰਿ ਧੋਖਾ; ਨੀਦ ਨ ਸੋਵੈ ॥
andar dhokhaa; need na sovai |
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਛਲ ਫਰੇਬ ਹੈ, ਸੋ ਉਹ ਗੂੜੀ ਨੀਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੌਦੀ।
She is filled with deception, and she cannot sleep in peace.
ਜੇ ਧਨ; ਖਸਮੈ ਚਲੈ ਰਜਾਈ ॥
je dhan; khasamai chalai rajaaee |
ਜੇਕਰ ਪਤਨੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਭਾਣੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਟੁਰੇ ਤਾਂ,
But if the soul-bride follows the Will of her Lord and Master,
ਦਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਸੋਭਾ; ਮਹਲਿ ਬੁਲਾਈ ॥
dar ghar sobhaa; mehal bulaaee |
ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿੱਜ ਦੇ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਤੇ ਸੱਦ ਲਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
She shall be honored in her own home, and called to the Mansion of His Presence.
ਨਾਨਕ; ਕਰਮੀ ਇਹ ਮਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, by His Mercy, this understanding is obtained.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ; ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੧॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
By Guru's Grace, she is absorbed into the True One. ||1||

ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
Third Mehl:
ਮਨਮੁਖ. ਨਾਮ ਵਿਹੂਣਿਆ; ਰੰਗੁ ਕਸੁੰਭਾ ਦੇਖਿ. ਨ ਭੁਲੁ ॥
manamukh. naam vihooniaa; rang kasunbhaa dekh. na bhul |
ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੇ, ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕੂਲ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਕੁਸੰਭੇ ਦੀ ਫੁੱਲ ਦੀ ਰੰਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਨਾਂ ਪਉ।
O self-willed manmukh, devoid of the Naam, do not be misled upon beholding the color of the safflower.
ਇਸ ਕਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਦਿਨ ਥੋੜਿਆ; ਛੋਛਾ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਮੁਲੁ ॥
eis kaa rang din thorriaa; chhochhaa is daa mul |
ਇਸ ਦੀ ਭਾ ਭੜਕ ਕੁਝ ਦਿਹਾੜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੁੱਛ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਕੀ ਕੀਮਤ।
Its color lasts for only a few days-it is worthless!
ਦੂਜੈ ਲਗੇ ਪਚਿ ਮੁਏ; ਮੂਰਖ ਅੰਧ ਗਵਾਰ ॥

ਦਵੈਤ-ਭਾਵ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਣ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਬੇਵਕੂਫ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਤੇ ਬੁਧੂ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਗਲ ਸੜ ਕੇ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Attached to duality, the foolish, blind and stupid people waste away and die.
ਬਿਸਟਾ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਕੀਟ ਸੇ; ਪਇ ਪਚਹਿ ਵਾਰੋ ਵਾਰ ॥
bisattaa andar keett se; pe pacheh vaaro vaar |
ਉਹ ਟੱਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਰਮ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਪੈਦੇ ਹਨ। ਅਤੇ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਉਸੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਬਿਨਸਦੇ ਹਨ।
Like worms, they live in manure, and in it, they die over and over again.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮ ਰਤੇ. ਸੇ ਰੰਗੁਲੇ; ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਜੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਾਲੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
O Nanak, those who are attuned to the Naam are dyed in the color of truth; they take on the intuitive peace and poise of the Guru.
ਭਗਤੀ ਰੰਗੁ. ਨ ਉਤਰੈ; ਸਹਜੇ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੨॥

ਸੁਧਾ-ਪਰੇਮ ਦੀ ਰੰਗਤ ਲਹਿੰਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸੁਖੈਨ ਹੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The color of devotional worship does not fade away; they remain intuitively absorbed in the Lord. ||2||

ਸਿਸਟਿ ਉਪਾਈ ਸਭ ਤੁਧੁ; ਆਪੇ. ਰਿਜਕੁ ਸੰਬਾਹਿਆ ॥
sisatt upaaee sabh tudh; aape. rijak sanbaahiaa |
ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਮੂਹ ਰਚਨਾ ਰਚੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਜ਼ੀ ਪੁਚਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
You created the entire universe, and You Yourself bring sustenance to it.
ਇਕਿ ਵਲੁ ਛਲੁ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਖਾਵਦੇ; ਮੁਹਹੁ. ਕੂੜੁ ਕੁਸਤੁ ਤਿਨੀ ਢਾਹਿਆ ॥
eik val chhal kar kai khaavade; muhahu. koorr kusat tinee dtaahiaa |
ਕਈ ਧੋਖਾ ਤੇ ਫਰੇਬ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਤੋਂ ਉਹ ਝੂਠ ਅਤੇ ਅਸੱਤਤਾ ਸੁਟਦੇ ਹਨ।
Some eat and survive by practicing fraud and deceit; from their mouths they drop falsehood and lies.
ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪੇ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਕਰਹਿ; ਤੁਧੁ ਓਤੈ ਕੰਮਿ ਓਇ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
tudh aape bhaavai so kareh; tudh otai kam oe laaeaa |
ਤੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਕਾਰੇ ਲਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਹੋ ਕੁਛ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
As it pleases You, You assign them their tasks.
ਇਕਨਾ. ਸਚੁ ਬੁਝਾਇਓਨੁ; ਤਿਨਾ ਅਤੁਟ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਦੇਵਾਇਆ ॥
eikanaa. sach bujhaaeon; tinaa atutt bhanddaar devaaeaa |
ਕਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਸੱਚਾਈ ਦਰਸਾਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਮੁੱਕ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।
Some understand Truthfulness; they are given the inexhaustible treasure.
ਹਰਿ ਚੇਤਿ ਖਾਹਿ, ਤਿਨਾ ਸਫਲੁ ਹੈ; ਅਚੇਤਾ. ਹਥ ਤਡਾਇਆ ॥੮॥
har chet khaeh, tinaa safal hai; achetaa. hath taddaaeaa |8|
ਫਲ-ਦਾਇਕ ਹੈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਗਮਨ ਜੋ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜੋ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਉਹ ਮੰਗਣ ਲਈ ਹੱਥ ਅੱਡਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who eat by remembering the Lord are prosperous, while those who do not remember Him stretch out their hands in need. ||8||
ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੩ ॥

ਪੜਿ ਪੜਿ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਬੇਦ ਵਖਾਣਹਿ; ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਸੁਆਇ ॥

ਧੰਨ ਦੌਲਤ ਦੇ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਦੀ ਖਾਤਰ, ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮਣ ਵੇਦਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਵਾਚਦੇ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The Pandits, the religious scholars, constantly read and recite the Vedas, for the sake of the love of Maya.
ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ. ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ; ਮਨ ਮੂਰਖ. ਮਿਲੈ ਸਜਾਇ ॥
doojai bhaae. har naam visaariaa; man moorakh. milai sajaae |
ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਬੇਵਕੂਫ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਭੁਲਾ ਛਡਿਆ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੰਡ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ।
In the love of duality, the foolish people have forgotten the Lord's Name; they shall receive their punishment.
ਜਿਨਿ. ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਦਿਤਾ, ਤਿਸੁ. ਕਬਹੂੰ ਨ ਚੇਤੈ; ਜੋ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਰਿਜਕੁ ਸੰਬਾਹਿ ॥
jin. jeeo pindd ditaa, tis. kabahoon na chetai; jo dendaa rijak sanbaeh |
ਉਹ ਕਦਾਚਿਤ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਜੀ ਬਖਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ।
They never think of the One who gave them body and soul, who provides sustenance to all.
ਜਮ ਕਾ ਫਾਹਾ ਗਲਹੁ. ਨ ਕਟੀਐ; ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ॥
jam kaa faahaa galahu. na katteeai; fir fir aavai jaae |
ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਫਾਂਸੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਗਰਦਨ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੱਢੀ ਜਾਣੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ।
The noose of death shall not be cut away from their necks; they shall come and go in reincarnation over and over again.
ਮਨਮੁਖਿ. ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਸੂਝੈ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ; ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਕਮਾਇ ॥

ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਆਪ-ਹੁਦਰਾ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹੋ ਕੁਛ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਮੁਢ ਤੋਂ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
The blind, self-willed manmukhs do not understand anything. They do what they are pre-ordained to do.
ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ; ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਨਾਮੁ. ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥

ਪੂਰਨ ਚੰਗੇ ਨਸੀਬਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਆਰਾਮ ਦੇਣਹਾਰ, ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ, ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਕੇ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਦੇ ਅੰਤਰ ਆਤਮੇ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Through perfect destiny, they meet the True Guru, the Giver of peace, and the Naam comes to abide in the mind.
ਸੁਖੁ ਮਾਣਹਿ. ਸੁਖੁ ਪੈਨਣਾ; ਸੁਖੇ ਸੁਖਿ ਵਿਹਾਇ ॥
sukh maaneh. sukh painanaa; sukhe sukh vihaae |
ਉਹ ਆਰਾਮ ਭੋਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਰਾਮ ਪਹਿਨਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਗੁਜਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
They enjoy peace, they wear peace, and they pass their lives in the peace of peace.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਨਾਉ. ਮਨਹੁ ਨ ਵਿਸਾਰੀਐ; ਜਿਤੁ. ਦਰਿ ਸਚੈ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥

ਓ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਉਸ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਂ ਭੁਲਾ, ਜਿਸ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, they do not forget the Naam from the mind; they are honored in the Court of the Lord. ||1||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ; ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਗੁਣਤਾਸੁ ॥

ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਤਾ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਉਤਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਤਾਈਆਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ।
Serving the True Guru, peace is obtained. The True Name is the Treasure of Excellence.
