har har nikatt vasai, sabh jag kai; aparanpar purakh atolee |
ਬੇ-ਹਦ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਾਪ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਸਾਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਲਾਗੇ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Lord, Har, Har, dwells close by, all over the world. He is Infinite, All-powerful and Immeasurable.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੁ ਕੀਓ, ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ; ਸਿਰੁ ਵੇਚਿਓ. ਗੁਰ ਪਹਿ ਮੋਲੀ ॥੩॥

ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਕੋਲ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੀਸ ਮੁੱਲ ਵੇਚ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ, ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਤੱਖ ਵਿਖਾਲ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ।
The Perfect Guru has revealed the Lord, Har, Har, to me. I have sold my head to the Guru. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ, ਤੁਮ ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ; ਤੁਮ ਵਡ ਪੁਰਖ ਵਡੋਲੀ ॥

ਹੇ ਪੂਜਨੀਯ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਿਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਤਾਬੇ ਹਾਂ, ਤੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲਾ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੈ।
O Dear Lord, inside and outside, I am in the protection of Your Sanctuary; You are the Greatest of the Great, All-powerful Lord.

ਤੂੰ ਹੈ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਜਗਤ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਜਾਨ, ਪਰੇਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਰਮ ਪਰੇਡੇ, ਆਲਮ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ, ਸ੍ਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਦਾ ਲਿਖਾਰੀ ਹੈ।

ਜਿਤੁ ਮਾਰਗਿ. ਤੁਮ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ; ਤਿਤੁ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਹਮ ਜਾਤੇ ॥੧॥
jit maarag. tum prerahu suaamee; tith maarag ham jaate |1|
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਭੀ ਰਸਤੇ ਦੀ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਹੀ ਰਸਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਹੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ।
Whichever way You turn me, O my Lord and Master, that is the way I shall go. ||1||
ਰਾਮ. ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ; ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਰਾਤੇ ॥

ਹੈ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
O Lord, my mind is attuned to the Lord's Love.
ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਇਆ; ਹਰਿ ਰਾਮੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਤੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
Joining the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, I have obtained the sublime essence of the Lord. I am absorbed in the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ. ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਗਿ ਅਵਖਧੁ; ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਤੇ ॥
har har naam. har har jag avakhadh; har har naam har saate |
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਬੀਮਾਰ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਦਵਾਈ ਹਨ। ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਸੱਚੇ ਹਨ।
The Lord, Har, Har, and the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is the panacea, the medicine for the world. The Lord, and the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, bring peace and tranquility.
ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੋਖ ਸਭਿ ਬਿਨਸੇ; ਜੋ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਰਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਖਾਤੇ ॥੨॥
tin ke paap dokh sabh binase; jo guramat raam ras khaate |2|
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੁਨਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਅਉਗਣ ਸਮੂਹ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਹੜੇ, ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਤਾਂਬੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਜੋਹਰ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੰਚਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who partake of the Lord's sublime essence, through the Guru's Teachings - their sins and sufferings are all eliminated. ||2||
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ. ਲਿਖਤੁ ਲਿਖੇ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ; ਤੇ. ਗੁਰ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਸਰਿ ਨਾਤੇ ॥
jin kau. likhat likhe dhur masatak; te. gur santokh sar naate |
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਮੁਢ ਦੀ-ਲਿਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਐਸੀ ਲਿਖਤਾਕਾਰ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਸੰਤੁਸ਼ਟਤਾ ਦੇ ਤਾਲਾਬ ਅੰਦਰ ਨ੍ਹਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who have such pre-ordained destiny inscribed on their foreheads, bathe in the pool of contentment of the Guru.
ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਮੈਲੁ. ਗਈ ਸਭ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ; ਜੋ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ॥੩॥

ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਜੇ ਹਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੰਦੀ ਅਕਲ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਮਲੀਨਤਾ ਧੌਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
The filth of evil-mindedness is totally washed away, from those who are imbued with the Love of the Lord's Name. ||3||
ਰਾਮ ਤੁਮ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ. ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਠਾਕੁਰ; ਤੁਮ ਜੇਵਡ. ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦਾਤੇ ॥

ਹੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਛ ਖੁਦ-ਬ-ਖੁਦ ਹੈ। ਤੇਰੇ ਜਿੱਡਾ ਵਡਾ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ।
O Lord, You Yourself are Your Own Master, O God. There is no other Giver as Great as You.
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ. ਨਾਮੁ ਲਏ ਤਾਂ ਜੀਵੈ; ਹਰਿ ਜਪੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੬॥੫੪॥

ਗੋਲਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇਵਲ ਸਾਈਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਲੈਣ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਜੀਊਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Servant Nanak lives by the Naam, the Name of the Lord; by the Lord's Mercy, he chants the Lord's Name. ||4||2||16||54||

ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਤਰਸ ਕਰ ਹੇ ਜਹਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੰਦ ਜਾਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ! ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਅਭੇਦ ਹੋਈ ਰਹੇ।
Show Mercy to me, O Life of the World, O Great Giver, so that my mind may merge with the Lord.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਬਚਨੁ ਦੀਓ. ਅਤਿ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ; ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ. ਹਰਿ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਚੇ ॥੧॥

ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸਿਖਿਆ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਪਰਮ ਪਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
The True Guru has bestowed His most pure and sacred Teachings. Chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, Har, my mind is transfixed and enraptured. ||1||
ਰਾਮ. ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ; ਬੇਧਿ ਲੀਓ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਚੇ ॥

ਹੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ, ਸੱਚੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਵਿੱਨ੍ਹ ਸੁਟੇ ਹਨ।
O Lord, my mind and body have been pierced through by the True Lord.
ਜਿਹ ਕਾਲ ਕੈ ਮੁਖਿ, ਜਗਤੁ ਸਭੁ ਗ੍ਰਸਿਆ; ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ, ਹਰਿ ਹਮ ਬਾਚੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jih kaal kai mukh, jagat sabh grasiaa; gur satigur kai bachan, har ham baache |1| rahaau |
ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ, ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ (ਪੰਜੇ) ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਹਾਨ ਫਸਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
The whole world is caught and held in the mouth of Death. Through the Teachings of the Guru, the True Guru, O Lord, I am saved. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ. ਨਾਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ; ਤੇ ਸਾਕਤ ਮੂੜ ਨਰ ਕਾਚੇ ॥
jin kau preet. naahee har setee; te saakat moorr nar kaache |
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਿਰਹੜੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਅਧਰਮੀ, ਮੂਰਖ ਅਤੇ ਕੂੜੇ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਹਨ।
Those who are not in love with the Lord are foolish and false - they are faithless cynics.
ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਜਨਮੁ ਮਰਣੁ ਅਤਿ ਭਾਰੀ; ਵਿਚਿ ਵਿਸਟਾ ਮਰਿ ਮਰਿ ਪਾਚੇ ॥੨॥
tin kau janam maran at bhaaree; vich visattaa mar mar paache |2|
ਉਹ ਜੰਮਣ ਤੇ ਮਰਣ ਦਾ ਮਹਾਨ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਦੁਖ ਉਠਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਰੰਬਾਰ ਮਰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਗੰਦਗੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਗਲਦੇ ਸੜਦੇ ਹਨ।
They suffer the most extreme agonies of birth and death; they die over and over again, and they rot away in manure. ||2||
ਤੁਮ ਦਇਆਲ. ਸਰਣਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਕ; ਮੋ ਕਉ ਦੀਜੈ ਦਾਨੁ. ਹਰਿ ਹਮ ਜਾਚੇ ॥

ਤੂੰ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਰਨਾਰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ-ਪੋਸ਼ਣਹਾਰ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਯਾਚਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂ ਆਪਣੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰ, ਹੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ!
You are the Merciful Cherisher of those who seek Your Sanctuary. I beg of You: please grant me Your gift, Lord.
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਦਾਸ. ਦਾਸ ਹਮ ਕੀਜੈ; ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਿ ਨਾਚੇ ॥੩॥

ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਗੋਲਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਗੋਲਾ ਬਣਾ ਦੇ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਪਰਮ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਨਿਰਤਕਾਰੀ ਕਰੇ।
Make me the slave of the Lord's slaves, so that my mind might dance in Your Love. ||3||
ਆਪੇ ਸਾਹ ਵਡੇ. ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਆਮੀ; ਹਮ ਵਣਜਾਰੇ ਹਹਿ ਤਾ ਚੇ ॥

ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਮਾਲਕ ਭਾਰਾ ਸ਼ਾਹੂਕਾਰ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪਰਚੂਨ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਹਾਂ।
He Himself is the Great Banker; God is our Lord and Master. I am His petty merchant.
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਜੀਉ ਰਾਸਿ, ਸਭ ਤੇਰੀ; ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਸਾਹ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਾਚੇ ॥੪॥੩॥੧੭॥੫੫॥

ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੇਹਿ ਤੇ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਸਮੂਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਹੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ! ਨੌਕਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਾਹੂਕਾਰ ਹੈ।
My mind, body and soul are all Your capital assets. You, O God, are the True Banker of servant Nanak. ||4||3||17||55||

ਤੂੰ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਮੇਰੀ ਇਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੰਨ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸੁਣ।
You are Merciful, the Destroyer of all pain. Please give me Your Ear and listen to my prayer.
ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਤੁਮ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਨੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ; ਸੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਿ. ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੇ ॥੧॥

ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਜਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਹੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਤੂੰ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Please unite me with the True Guru, my breath of life; through Him, O my Lord and Master, You are known. ||1||

ਹੇ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਮੈਂ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਤਸਲੀਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
O Lord, I acknowledge the True Guru as the Supreme Lord God.
ਹਮ ਮੂੜ ਮੁਗਧ. ਅਸੁਧ ਮਤਿ ਹੋਤੇ; ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ. ਹਰਿ ਹਮ ਜਾਨੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ham moorr mugadh. asudh mat hote; gur satigur kai bachan. har ham jaane |1| rahaau |
ਮੈਂ ਮੂਰਖ ਜੜ੍ਹ ਅਤੇ ਅਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਮਝ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
I am foolish and ignorant, and my intellect is impure. Through the Teachings of the Guru, the True Guru, O Lord, I come to know You. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਤਨੇ ਰਸ ਅਨ ਰਸ. ਹਮ ਦੇਖੇ; ਸਭ ਤਿਤਨੇ ਫੀਕ ਫੀਕਾਨੇ ॥
jitane ras an ras. ham dekhe; sabh titane feek feekaane |
ਜਿੰਨੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸੁਆਦ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖੇ ਹਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਫਿਕਲੇ ਪਾਏ ਹਨ।
All the pleasures and enjoyments which I have seen - I have found them all to be bland and insipid.
