har kaa naam. amrit ras chaakhiaa; mil satigur. meetth ras gaane |2|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਥਿ-ਹਿਯਾਤ ਪਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕਮਾਦ ਦੇ ਗੰਨੇ ਦੇ ਰੇਹੁ ਦੀ ਮਾਨੰਦ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਹੈ।
I have tasted the Ambrosial Nectar of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, by meeting the True Guru. It is sweet, like the juice of the sugarcane. ||2||
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਭੇਟਿਆ; ਤੇ ਸਾਕਤ ਮੂੜ ਦਿਵਾਨੇ ॥
jin kau gur satigur nahee bhettiaa; te saakat moorr divaane |
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਵਡੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲੇ, ਉਹ ਮੂਰਖ ਅਤੇ ਝੱਲੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪੁਜਾਰੀ ਹਨ।
Those who have not met the Guru, the True Guru, are foolish and insane - they are faithless cynics.
ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਕਰਮਹੀਨ. ਧੁਰਿ ਪਾਏ; ਦੇਖਿ ਦੀਪਕੁ. ਮੋਹਿ ਪਚਾਨੇ ॥੩॥

ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਨੇਕ ਅਮਲਾ-ਰਹਿਤ ਹੋਣੇ ਨੀਅਤ ਹੋਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ! ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਦੇ ਦੀਵੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਪਤੰਗੇ ਦੇ ਵਾਂਙੂ ਸੜ-ਬਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who were pre-ordained to have no good karma at all - gazing into the lamp of emotional attachment, they are burnt, like moths in a flame. ||3||
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਤੁਮ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਮੇਲਹੁ; ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵ ਲਗਾਨੇ ॥
jin kau tum deaa kar melahu; te har har sev lagaane |
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਹੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਮਾਲਕ! ਰਹਿਮ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਜੁਟਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those whom You, in Your Mercy, have met, Lord, are committed to Your Service.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ. ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ; ਮਤਿ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਨੇ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੮॥੫੬॥

ਨਫਰ ਨਾਨਕ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪਰਸਿਧ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਨਾਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
Servant Nanak chants the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, Har. He is famous, and through the Guru's Teachings, He merges in the Name. ||4||4||18||56||

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ. ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਦਾ ਨਾਲਿ ਹੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ; ਕਹੁ ਕਿਥੈ. ਹਰਿ ਪਹੁ ਨਸੀਐ ॥
mere man. so prabh sadaa naal hai suaamee; kahu kithai. har pahu naseeai |
ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ, ਉਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਮਾਲਕ, ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਥ ਹੈ। ਦਸ! ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਭੱਜ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ?
O my mind, God is always with you; He is your Lord and Master. Tell me, where could you run to get away from the Lord?
ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਲਏ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਚਾ; ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਛਡਾਏ ਛੁਟੀਐ ॥੧॥

ਸੱਚਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਮਾਫੀ ਬਖਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇਕਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਖੁਦ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The True Lord God Himself grants forgiveness; we are emancipated only when the Lord Himself emancipates us. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ. ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ; ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਜਪੀਐ ॥

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ! ਦਿਲ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਤੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ।
O my mind, chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, Har - chant it in your mind.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ. ਭਜਿ ਪਉ. ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ; ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੀਛੈ. ਛੁਟੀਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਦੌੜ ਕੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਣਾਗਤ ਸੰਭਾਲ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨੂਏ! ਵਡੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਟੁਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਿਹਾਈ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
Quickly now, run to the Sanctuary of the True Guru, O my mind; following the Guru, the True Guru, you shall be saved. ||1||Pause||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ. ਸੇਵਹੁ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸ੍ਰਬ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ; ਜਿਤੁ ਸੇਵਿਐ. ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਸੀਐ ॥
mere man. sevahu so prabh srab sukhadaataa; jit seviai. nij ghar vaseeai |
ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਸਾਰੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਬਖਸ਼ਣਹਾਰ ਉਸ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿੱਜ ਦੇ ਧਾਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।
O my mind, serve God, the Giver of all peace; serving Him, you shall come to dwell in your own home deep within.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਇ ਲਹਹੁ ਘਰੁ ਅਪਨਾ; ਘਸਿ ਚੰਦਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਘਸੀਐ ॥੨॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਧਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ, ਅਤੇ ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਚੰਨਣ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਮਲ ਤੇ ਲਾ।
As Gurmukh, go and enter your own home; anoint yourself with the sandalwood oil of the Lord's Praises. ||2||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ. ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ, ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਊਤਮੁ; ਲੈ ਲਾਹਾ ਹਰਿ. ਮਨਿ ਹਸੀਐ ॥
mere man. har har har har, har jas aootam; lai laahaa har. man haseeai |
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ, ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ। ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਨਫਾ ਖਟ ਅਤੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋ।
O my mind, the Praises of the Lord, Har, Har, Har, Har, Har, are exalted and sublime. Earn the profit of the Lord's Name, and let your mind be happy.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਵੈ; ਤਾ. ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਖੀਐ ॥੩॥
har har aap deaa kar devai; taa. amrit har ras chakheeai |3|
ਜੇਕਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਖੁਦ ਮਿਹਰ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਪਰਦਾਨ ਕਰੇ, ਕੇਵਲ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨੂੰ ਭੂੰਚਦਾ ਹੈ।
If the Lord, Har, Har, in His Mercy, bestows it, then we partake of the ambrosial essence of the Lord's Name. ||3||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ. ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਜੋ ਦੂਜੈ ਲਾਗੇ; ਤੇ ਸਾਕਤ ਨਰ. ਜਮਿ ਘੁਟੀਐ ॥
mere man. naam binaa jo doojai laage; te saakat nar. jam ghutteeai |
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨੂਏ, ਜੋ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਸੁ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਾਦਾਪ੍ਰਸਤ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਦੂਤ ਗਲ ਘੁਟ ਕੇ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।
O my mind, without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and attached to duality, those faithless cynics are strangled by the Messenger of Death.
ਤੇ ਸਾਕਤ ਚੋਰ. ਜਿਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ; ਮਨ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਨਿਕਟਿ. ਨ ਭਿਟੀਐ ॥੪॥
te saakat chor. jinaa naam visaariaa; man tin kai nikatt. na bhitteeai |4|
ਐਸੇ ਮਾਦਾਪ੍ਰਸਤ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ, ਤਸਕਰ ਹਨ। ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਾਗੇ ਨ ਲਗ।
Such faithless cynics, who have forgotten the Naam, are thieves. O my mind, do not even go near them. ||4||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਸੇਵਹੁ. ਅਲਖ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਨਰਹਰਿ; ਜਿਤੁ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਲੇਖਾ ਛੁਟੀਐ ॥

ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ ਅਗਾਧ ਅਤੇ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਮਨੁੱਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹਿਸਾਬ-ਕਿਤਾਬ ਬੇ-ਬਾਕ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
O my mind, serve the Unknowable and Immaculate Lord, the Man-lion; serving Him, your account will be cleared.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ. ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀਏ; ਖਿਨੁ ਮਾਸਾ ਤੋਲੁ. ਨ ਘਟੀਐ ॥੫॥੫॥੧੯॥੫੭॥

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੇ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਬਣਾ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਵਜਨ ਹੁਣ ਇਕ ਮਾਸੇ ਦੇ ਭੋਰਾ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਭੀ ਘਟ ਨਹੀਂ।
The Lord God has made servant Nanak perfect; he is not diminished by even the tiniest particle. ||5||5||19||57||

hamare praan vasagat prabh tumarai; meraa jeeo pindd sabh teree |
ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਜਾਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ! ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਸਮੂਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਹਨ।
My breath of life is in Your Power, God; my soul and body are totally Yours.
ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ. ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਦਿਖਾਵਹੁ; ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਲੋਚ ਘਣੇਰੀ ॥੧॥

ਰਹਿਮਤ ਧਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਵਿਖਾਲ, ਹੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਭਾਰੀ ਸੱਧਰ ਹੈ।
Be merciful to me, and show me the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. There is such a great longing within my mind and body! ||1||
ਰਾਮ. ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਲੋਚ; ਮਿਲਣ ਹਰਿ ਕੇਰੀ ॥

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ, ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੀ ਚਾਹਨਾ ਹੈ।
O my Lord, there is such a great longing within my mind and body to meet the Lord.
ਗੁਰ ਕਿ੍ਰਪਾਲਿ. ਕਿ੍ਰਪਾ ਕਿੰਚਤ ਗੁਰਿ ਕੀਨੀ; ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਆਇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਜਦ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਭੋਰਾ ਜਿੰਨੀ ਭੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ, ਮੇਰਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
When the Guru, the Merciful Guru, showed just a little mercy to me, my Lord God came and met me. ||1||Pause||
ਜੋ ਹਮਰੈ ਮਨ ਚਿਤਿ ਹੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ; ਸਾ ਬਿਧਿ. ਤੁਮ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਮੇਰੀ ॥
jo hamarai man chit hai suaamee; saa bidh. tum har jaanahu meree |
ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਤੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਈਂ! ਉਸ ਮੇਰੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
Whatever is in my conscious mind, O Lord and Master - that condition of mine is known only to You, Lord.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈ; ਨਿਤ ਜੀਵਾ ਆਸ ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰੀ ॥੨॥

ਰੈਣ ਦਿਹੁੰ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੱਧਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਿਊਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਹੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ!
Night and day, I chant Your Name, and I find peace. I live by placing my hopes in You, Lord. ||2||

ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ, ਦਾਤਾਰ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਰਸਤਾ ਵਿਖਾਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਤੇ ਮੈਂਡਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੇ ਨਾਜ਼ਲ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
The Guru, the True Guru, the Giver, has shown me the Way; my Lord God came and met me.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ; ਸਭ ਆਸ ਪੁਜੀ. ਜਨ ਕੇਰੀ ॥੩॥

ਰੈਣ ਦਿਹੁੰ ਬੈਕੂੰਠੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਬਰਸਦੀ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਭਾਰੇ ਨਸੀਬ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਗੋਲੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ਾ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
Night and day, I am filled with bliss; by great good fortune, all of the hopes of His humble servant have been fulfilled. ||3||
ਜਗੰਨਾਥ ਜਗਦੀਸੁਰ ਕਰਤੇ; ਸਭ ਵਸਗਤਿ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੇਰੀ ॥

ਹੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੇ ਆਲਮ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ, ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਤੇਰੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ।
O Lord of the World, Master of the Universe, everything is under Your control.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਆਏ; ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਪੈਜ ਜਨ ਕੇਰੀ ॥੪॥੬॥੨੦॥੫੮॥

ਨੌਕਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਲਈ ਹੈ, ਹੈ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! ਆਪਣੇ ਨਫਰ ਦੀ ਇੱਜਤ ਦੀ ਰਖਵਾਲੀ ਕਰ।

ਗਊੜੀ ਪੂਰਬੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਚੋਥੀ।
Gauree Poorbee, Fourth Mehl:
ਇਹੁ ਮਨੂਆ. ਖਿਨੁ ਨ ਟਿਕੈ. ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗੀ; ਦਹ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਚਲਿ ਚਲਿ ਹਾਢੇ ॥
eihu manooaa. khin na ttikai. bahu rangee; deh deh dis chal chal haadte |
ਘਣਿਆਂ ਤਰੰਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਇਹ ਮਨੂਆਂ ਇਕ ਮੁਹਤ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਠਹਿਰਦਾ। ਇਹ ਦਸਾਂ ਹੀ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਟੱਕਰਾਂ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
This mind does not hold still, even for an instant. Distracted by all sorts of distractions, it wanders around aimlessly in the ten directions.
