ਦਯਿ ਵਿਗੋਏ. ਫਿਰਹਿ ਵਿਗੁਤੇ; ਫਿਟਾ ਵਤੈ ਗਲਾ ॥
day vigoe. fireh vigute; fittaa vatai galaa |
ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਉਹ ਬੇਇਜਤ ਹੋਏ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਮੂਹ ਸਮੂਦਾਅ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Ruined by the Merciful Lord, they wander around in disgrace, and their entire troop is contaminated.
ਜੀਆ ਮਾਰਿ ਜੀਵਾਲੇ ਸੋਈ; ਅਵਰੁ. ਨ ਕੋਈ ਰਖੈ ॥
jeea maar jeevaale soee; avar. na koee rakhai |
ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਧਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੇਵਲ ਓਹੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
The Lord alone kills and restores to life; no one else can protect anyone from Him.
ਦਾਨਹੁ ਤੈ ਇਸਨਾਨਹੁ ਵੰਜੇ; ਭਸੁ ਪਈ ਸਿਰਿ ਖੁਥੈ ॥
daanahu tai isanaanahu vanje; bhas pee sir khuthai |
ਉਹ ਪੁੰਨ ਕਰਨੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੱਜਨ ਸਾਧਣੋਂ ਵਾਂਞੇ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੋਚਿਆਂ ਮੂੰਡਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਖੇਹ ਪੈਦੀ ਹੈ।
They go without giving alms or any cleansing baths; their shaven heads become covered with dust.
ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਰਤਨ ਉਪੰਨੇ; ਮੇਰੁ ਕੀਆ ਮਾਧਾਣੀ ॥
paanee vichahu ratan upane; mer keea maadhaanee |
ਜਦ ਸੁਮੇਰ ਪਰਬਤ ਨੂੰ ਮਧਾਣੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਜਲ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜਵੇਹਰ ਨਿਕਲੇ।
The jewel emerged from the water, when the mountain of gold was used to churn it.
ਅਠਸਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ. ਦੇਵੀ ਥਾਪੇ; ਪੁਰਬੀ ਲਗੈ ਬਾਣੀ ॥

ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਅਠਾਹਟ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਮੁਕੱਰਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਥੇ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਮਨਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਭਜਨ ਗਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
The gods established the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage, where the festivals are celebrated and hymns are chanted.
ਨਾਇ ਨਿਵਾਜਾ. ਨਾਤੈ ਪੂਜਾ; ਨਾਵਨਿ ਸਦਾ. ਸੁਜਾਣੀ ॥
naae nivaajaa. naatai poojaa; naavan sadaa. sujaanee |
ਗੁਸਲ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਨਿਮਾਜ ਪੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਹਨ, ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਉਪਾਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਆਣੇ, ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਨ੍ਹਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
After bathing, the Muslims recite their prayers, and after bathing, the Hindus perform their worship services. The wise always take cleansing baths.
ਮੁਇਆ ਜੀਵਦਿਆ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ; ਜਾਂ ਸਿਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਪਾਣੀ ॥

ਮਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਤੇ ਜੀਉਂਦੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਦ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੀਸਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਜਲ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
At the time of death, and at the time of birth, they are purified, when water is poured on their heads.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਸਿਰਖੁਥੇ ਸੈਤਾਨੀ; ਏਨਾ. ਗਲ ਨ ਭਾਣੀ ॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਮੂੰਡ ਖੁਹਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਭੂਤਨੇ ਹਨ। ਮੱਤ ਦੀ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦੀ।
O Nanak, the shaven-headed ones are devils. They are not pleased to hear these words.
ਵੁਠੈ ਹੋਇਐ ਹੋਇ ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ; ਜੀਆ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥
vutthai hoeiai hoe bilaaval; jeea jugat samaanee |
ਜਦ ਪਾਣੀ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੀ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
When it rains, there is happiness. Water is the key to all life.
ਵੁਠੈ. ਅੰਨੁ ਕਮਾਦੁ ਕਪਾਹਾ; ਸਭਸੈ ਪੜਦਾ ਹੋਵੈ ॥
vutthai. an kamaad kapaahaa; sabhasai parradaa hovai |
ਜਦ ਪਾਣੀ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਨਾਜ, ਗੰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਪਾਸ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਜਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਚਾਦਰ ਬਣਦੀ ਹੈ।
When it rains, the corn grows, and the sugar cane, and the cotton, which provides clothing for all.
ਵੁਠੈ. ਘਾਹੁ ਚਰਹਿ ਨਿਤਿ ਸੁਰਹੀ; ਸਾ ਧਨ ਦਹੀ ਵਿਲੋਵੈ ॥
vutthai. ghaahu chareh nit surahee; saa dhan dahee vilovai |
ਜਦ ਮੀਹ ਵਰ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗਾਈਆਂ ਸਦਾ ਘਾਸ ਚਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਆਣੀਆਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਧ ਦਾ ਖੱਟਾ ਰਿੜਕਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
When it rains, the cows always have grass to graze upon, and housewives can churn the milk into butter.
ਤਿਤੁ ਘਿਇ. ਹੋਮ ਜਗ ਸਦ ਪੂਜਾ; ਪਇਐ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਸੋਹੈ ॥

ਉਸ ਘਿਓ ਦੇ ਪਾਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹਵਨ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਭੰਡਾਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਪ੍ਰਾਸ਼ਨਾਵਾ ਨਿੱਤ ਹੀ ਸਰੰਜਾਮ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ ਸੁਸ਼ੋਭਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
With that ghee, sacred feasts and worship services are performed; all these efforts are blessed.
ਗੁਰੂ ਸਮੁੰਦੁ. ਨਦੀ ਸਭਿ ਸਿਖੀ; ਨਾਤੈ ਜਿਤੁ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥

ਗੁਰੂ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸਿਖਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਦਰਿਆ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬਜੁਰਗੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
The Guru is the ocean, and all His Teachings are the river. Bathing within it, glorious greatness is obtained.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਜੇ ਸਿਰਖੁਥੇ ਨਾਵਨਿ ਨਾਹੀ; ਤਾ ਸਤ ਚਟੇ ਸਿਰਿ ਛਾਈ ॥੧॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਜੇਕਰ ਮੂੰਡ ਨੁਚਵਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਨਾਂ ਕਰਨ, ਤਦ ਸਤ ਬੁੱਕ ਸੁਆਹ ਦੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਝਾਟੇ ਉਤੇ ਪੈਣ।
O Nanak, if the shaven-headed ones do not bathe, then seven handfuls of ashes are upon their heads. ||1||

ਅਗੀ. ਪਾਲਾ ਕਿ ਕਰੇ; ਸੂਰਜ. ਕੇਹੀ ਰਾਤਿ ॥
agee. paalaa ki kare; sooraj. kehee raat |
ਠੰਢ ਅੱਗ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਰੈਣ ਸੂਰਜ ਤੇ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਸਰ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ?
What can the cold do to the fire? How can the night affect the sun?
ਚੰਦ. ਅਨੇਰਾ ਕਿ ਕਰੇ; ਪਉਣ ਪਾਣੀ ਕਿਆ ਜਾਤਿ ॥
chand. aneraa ki kare; paun paanee kiaa jaat |
ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਚੰਨ ਤੇ ਕੀ ਅਸਰ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਜਾਤੀ ਦਾ ਹਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਜਲ ਤੇ ਕੀ ਅਸਰ ਹੈ?
What can the darkness do to the moon? What can social status do to air and water?
ਧਰਤੀ ਚੀਜੀ ਕਿ ਕਰੇ; ਜਿਸੁ ਵਿਚਿ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੋਇ ॥

ਜਮੀਨ ਵਸਤੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਕਰੇ, ਜੀਹਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ?
What are personal possessions to the earth, from which all things are produced?
ਨਾਨਕ. ਤਾ ਪਤਿ ਜਾਣੀਐ; ਜਾ ਪਤਿ ਰਖੈ ਸੋਇ ॥੨॥

ਨਾਨਕ, ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਕੇਵਲ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਪਤਵੰਤਾ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦ ਉਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਊਸ ਦੀ ਇਜਤ ਆਬਰੂ ਬਰਕਰਾਰ ਰੱਖੇ।
O Nanak, he alone is known as honorable, whose honor the Lord preserves. ||2||

ਤੁਧੁ ਸਚੇ ਸੁਬਹਾਨੁ; ਸਦਾ ਕਲਾਣਿਆ ॥

ਤੇਰੀ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅਸਚਰਜ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਮੈਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਗਾਇਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
It is of You, O my True and Wondrous Lord, that I sing forever.
ਤੂੰ ਸਚਾ ਦੀਬਾਣੁ; ਹੋਰਿ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਿਆ ॥
toon sachaa deebaan; hor aavan jaaniaa |
ਤੇਰਾ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਸਥਿਰ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਹੈ। ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਉਣ ਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਹਨ।
Yours is the True Court. All others are subject to coming and going.
ਸਚੁ ਜਿ ਮੰਗਹਿ ਦਾਨੁ; ਸਿ ਤੁਧੈ ਜੇਹਿਆ ॥
sach ji mangeh daan; si tudhai jehiaa |
ਜੋ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਦੀ ਯਾਚਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਊਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਰਗੇ ਹੀ ਹਨ।
Those who ask for the gift of the True Name are like You.
ਸਚੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਫੁਰਮਾਨੁ; ਸਬਦੇ ਸੋਹਿਆ ॥
sach teraa furamaan; sabade sohiaa |
ਸਤਿ ਹੈ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੁਕਮ। ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Your Command is True; we are adorned with the Word of Your Shabad.
ਮੰਨਿਐ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਧਿਆਨੁ; ਤੁਧੈ ਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
maniai giaan dhiaan; tudhai te paaeaa |
ਤੇਰੇ ਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਹੇ ਸਾਈਂ! ਬੰਦਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ ਬੋਧ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Through faith and trust, we receive spiritual wisdom and meditation from You.
ਕਰਮਿ ਪਵੈ ਨੀਸਾਨੁ; ਨ ਚਲੈ ਚਲਾਇਆ ॥
karam pavai neesaan; na chalai chalaaeaa |
ਤੇਰੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਆਦਮੀ ਤੇ ਇਜਤ ਆਬਰੂ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਿਟਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮਿਟਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
By Your Grace, the banner of honor is obtained. It cannot be taken away or lost.
ਤੂੰ ਸਚਾ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ; ਨਿਤ ਦੇਵਹਿ ਚੜਹਿ ਸਵਾਇਆ ॥
toon sachaa daataar; nit deveh charreh savaaeaa |
ਤੂੰ ਸੱਚਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
You are the True Giver; You give continually. Your Gifts continue to increase.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਦਾਨੁ; ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਇਆ ॥੨੬॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਦਾਤ ਦੀ ਯਾਚਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ!
Nanak begs for that gift which is pleasing to You. ||26||

ਦੀਖਿਆ ਆਖਿ ਬੁਝਾਇਆ; ਸਿਫਤੀ ਸਚਿ ਸਮੇਉ ॥
deekhiaa aakh bujhaaeaa; sifatee sach sameo |
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀ) ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਠੀਕ ਰਸਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who have accepted the Guru's Teachings, and who have found the path, remain absorbed in the Praises of the True Lord.
ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਕਿਆ ਉਪਦੇਸੀਐ; ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਉ ॥੧॥

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹੜੀ ਸਿੱਖ-ਮਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਬ-ਰੂਪ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੈ।
What teachings can be imparted to those who have the Divine Guru Nanak as their Guru? ||1||

ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
First Mehl:
ਆਪਿ ਬੁਝਾਏ; ਸੋਈ ਬੂਝੈ ॥
aap bujhaae; soee boojhai |
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਖੁਦ ਸਮਝਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ।
We understand the Lord only when He Himself inspires us to understand Him.
ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਸੁਝਾਏ; ਤਿਸੁ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਸੂਝੈ ॥
jis aap sujhaae; tis sabh kichh soojhai |
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਆਪੇ ਗਿਆਤ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਜਾਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
He alone knows everything, unto whom the Lord Himself gives knowledge.
ਕਹਿ ਕਹਿ ਕਥਨਾ; ਮਾਇਆ ਲੂਝੈ ॥
keh keh kathanaa; maaeaa loojhai |
ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰਕ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਤੇ ਧਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਧੰਨ ਦੋਲਤ ਨੂੰ ਤਰਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
One may talk and preach and give sermons but still yearn after Maya.
ਹੁਕਮੀ; ਸਗਲ ਕਰੇ ਆਕਾਰ ॥
hukamee; sagal kare aakaar |
ਹਾਕਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਮੁਹ ਰਚਨਾ ਰਚੀ ਹੈ।
The Lord, by the Hukam of His Command, has created the entire creation.
ਆਪੇ ਜਾਣੈ; ਸਰਬ ਵੀਚਾਰ ॥
aape jaanai; sarab veechaar |
ਉਹ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਸਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਨੁਕਤਾ-ਨਿਗਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ।
He Himself knows the inner nature of all.
ਅਖਰ ਨਾਨਕ; ਅਖਿਓ ਆਪਿ ॥
akhar naanak; akhio aap |
ਨਾਨਕ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, He Himself uttered the Word.
ਲਹੈ ਭਰਾਤਿ; ਹੋਵੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਦਾਤਿ ॥੨॥
lahai bharaat; hovai jis daat |2|
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਖਸ਼ੀਸ਼ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੇਹ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Doubt departs from one who receives this gift. ||2||

ਮੈਂ ਨਿੰਕਮੇ ਭੱਟ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
I was a minstrel, out of work, when the Lord took me into His service.
ਰਾਤਿ ਦਿਹੈ ਕੈ ਵਾਰ; ਧੁਰਹੁ ਫੁਰਮਾਇਆ ॥
raat dihai kai vaar; dhurahu furamaaeaa |
ਐਨ ਆੰਰਭ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਰੈਣ ਦਿਨ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਹਿਨ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
To sing His Praises day and night, He gave me His Order, right from the start.
ਢਾਢੀ ਸਚੈ ਮਹਲਿ; ਖਸਮਿ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ॥
dtaadtee sachai mehal; khasam bulaaeaa |
ਮਾਲਕ ਨੇ ਭੱਟ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੱਦ ਘਲਿਆ।
My Lord and Master has summoned me, His minstrel, to the True Mansion of His Presence.
ਸਚੀ ਸਿਫਤਿ ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਪੜਾ; ਪਾਇਆ ॥
sachee sifat saalaah kaparraa; paaeaa |
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਜੱਸ ਦੀ ਪੁਸ਼ਾਕ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਵਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
He has dressed me in the robes of His True Praise and Glory.
ਸਚਾ ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ; ਭੋਜਨੁ ਆਇਆ ॥
sachaa amrit naam; bhojan aaeaa |
ਤਦ ਤੋਂ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਧਾ ਸਰੁਪ ਖਾਣਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
The Ambrosial Nectar of the True Name has become my food.
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਖਾਧਾ ਰਜਿ; ਤਿਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
guramatee khaadhaa raj; tin sukh paaeaa |
ਜੋ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਤਾਬੇ ਇਸ ਖਾਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਜ ਕੇ ਛਕਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who follow the Guru's Teachings, who eat this food and are satisfied, find peace.
ਢਾਢੀ ਕਰੇ ਪਸਾਉ; ਸਬਦੁ ਵਜਾਇਆ ॥
dtaadtee kare pasaau; sabad vajaaeaa |
ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਗਾਹਿਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਮੈਂ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਉਂਦ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਵਿਸਤਾਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
His minstrel spreads His Glory, singing and vibrating the Word of His Shabad.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਲਾਹਿ; ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨੭॥ ਸੁਧੁ

ਨਾਨਕ, ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
