Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji

ਸਿਰੀ ਰਾਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੱਸ-ਮਈ ਕਵਿਤਾ, ਚਉਥੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਦੀ, ਸਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ।

Vaar Of Siree Raag, Fourth Mehl, With Saloks:

ਸਲੋਕ, ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Salok, Third Mehl:

ਰਾਗਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਰਾਗ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵਧੀਆ ਰਾਗ ਹੈ, ਜੇਕਰ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨਾਲ ਪਰੇਮ ਪੈ ਜਾਵੇ।

Among the ragas, Siree Raag is the best, if it inspires you to enshrine love for the True Lord.

ਜਿਸ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੱਚਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਰਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਸਥਿਰ ਤੇ ਲਾਸਾਨੀ ਹੈ।

The True Lord comes to abide forever in the mind, and your understanding becomes steady and unequalled.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਚਣ ਤੇ ਸਮਝਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਅਣਮੁੱਲ ਜਵੇਹਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

The priceless jewel is obtained, by contemplating the Word of the Guru's Shabad.

ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜੀਭ ਸੱਚੀ ਹੈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਆਤਮਾ ਸੱਚੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਦੇਹਿ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ।

The tongue becomes true, the mind becomes true, and the body becomes true as well.

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਦੀਵੀ ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ ਵਣਜ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੋ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

O Nanak, forever true are the dealings of those who serve the True Guru. ||1||

ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Third Mehl:

ਸਿਵਾਏ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੇ ਜੋ ਬੰਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਬਾਕੀ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮੁਹੱਬਤਾਂ ਅਨਿਸਥਿਰ ਹਨ।

All other loves are transitory, as long as people do not love their Lord and Master.

ਮੋਹਣੀ ਨੇ ਏਸ ਮਨੂਏ ਦੀ ਐਨੀ ਮਤ ਮਾਰ ਛੱਡੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ।

This mind is enticed by Maya-it cannot see or hear.

ਕੰਤ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪੈਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਕੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?

Without seeing her Husband Lord, love does not well up; what can the blind person do?

ਨਾਨਕ, ਜਿਸ ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਨੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਨੇਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਮਹਿਰੂਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੋੜ ਕੇ ਦੇ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

O Nanak, the True One who takes away the eyes of spiritual wisdom-He alone can restore them. ||2||

ਪੌੜੀ।

Pauree:

ਕੇਵਲ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਹੀ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਹੈ।

The Lord alone is the One Creator; there is only the One Court of the Lord.

ਕੇਵਲ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਹੁਕਮ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਇਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਾ।

The One Lord's Command is the One and Only-enshrine the One Lord in your consciousness.

ਉਸ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ। ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਤ੍ਰਾਹ, ਸੰਦੇਹ ਤੇ ਭੈ ਰਫਾ ਕਰ ਦੇ।

Without that Lord, there is no other at all. Remove your fear, doubt and dread.

ਉਸੇ ਹੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕਰ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰਵਾਰ ਰਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Praise that Lord who protects you, inside your home, and outside as well.

ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਡਰ ਦੇ ਕਠਨ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

When that Lord becomes merciful, and one comes to chant the Lord's Name, one swims across the ocean of fear. ||1||

ਸਲੋਕ, ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Salok, First Mehl:

ਬਖਸ਼ਸ਼ਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਥ ਕੀ ਚਾਰਾ ਚਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?

The gifts belong to our Lord and Master; how can we compete with Him?

ਕਈ ਜੋ ਜਾਗਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਸਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਕਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਨੀਦਂ ਤੋਂ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਕੇ ਦੇ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Some remain awake and aware, and do not receive these gifts, while others are awakened from their sleep to be blessed. ||1||

ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

First Mehl:

ਭਰੋਸਾ ਤੇ ਸੰਤੁਸ਼ਟਤਾ ਸਿਦਕਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਹਿਨਸ਼ੀਲਤਾ ਫਰਿਸ਼ਤਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਖ਼ਰਚ ਹੈ।

Faith, contentment and tolerance are the food and provisions of the angels.

ਪੂਰਨ-ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਸੂਰਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ।

They obtain the Perfect Vision of the Lord, while those who gossip find no place of rest. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ।

Pauree:

ਤੂੰ, ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਖੁਦ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਚਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਹਰ ਇਕਸ ਨੂੰ ਧੰਦੇ ਲਾਇਆ ਹੈ।

You Yourself created all; You Yourself delegate the tasks.

ਆਪਣੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

You Yourself are pleased, beholding Your Own Glorious Greatness.

ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ, ਤੇਰੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਹੋਰ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ। ਤੂੰ ਸੱਚਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੈ।

O Lord, there is nothing at all beyond You. You are the True Lord.

ਤੂੰ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਮਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

You Yourself are contained in all places.

ਤੁਸੀਂ, ਹੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਪੁਰਸ਼ੋ! ਉਸ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰੋ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਅੰਤ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਬੰਦਖਲਾਸ ਕਰਾਵੇਗਾ।

Meditate on that Lord, O Saints; He shall rescue and save you. ||2||

ਸਲੋਕ, ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Salok, First Mehl:

ਬੇਮਾਨ੍ਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਾਤ ਅਤੇ ਫਜੂਲ ਹੈ ਨਾਮਵਰੀ।

Pride in social status is empty; pride in personal glory is useless.

ਕੇਵਲ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੀ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਇਆ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

The One Lord gives shade to all beings.

ਕੋਈ ਜਣਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਸ਼ਕ ਚੰਗਾ ਆਖੇ,

You may call yourself good;

ਕੇਵਲ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਚੰਗਾ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਜਦ ਉਸਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ!

O Nanak, this will only be known when your honor is approved in God's Account. ||1||

ਦੂਜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Second Mehl:

ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪਰੀਤਮ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੂਹਰੇ ਮਰ ਜਾ।

Die before the one whom you love;

ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਗਰੋ ਜੀਊਣਾ ਜਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਲਾਨ੍ਹਤ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਬਸਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ।

to live after he dies is to live a worthless life in this world. ||2||

ਪਊੜੀ।

Pauree:

ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਮੀਨ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਨ ਤੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਦੀਵੇ ਰਚੇ ਹਨ।

You Yourself created the earth, and the two lamps of the sun and the moon.

ਤੂੰ ਦਸ ਤੇ ਚਾਰ ਹੱਟੀਆਂ (ਚੌਦਾ ਪੁਰੀਆਂ) ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਣਜ-ਵਪਾਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

You created the fourteen world-shops, in which Your Business is transacted.

ਕਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹਡੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਫਾ ਬਖਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ।

The Lord bestows His Profits on those who become Gurmukh.

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਦੂਤ ਛੋਹਦਾ ਤੱਕ ਨਹੀਂ, ਜੋ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸੁਧਾ-ਰਸ ਪਾਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

The Messenger of Death does not touch those who drink in the True Ambrosial Nectar.

ਉਹ ਖੁਦ ਸਣੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਟੱਬਰ ਕਬੀਲੇ ਦੇ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਜਣਾ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਟੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਭੀ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

They themselves are saved, along with their family, and all those who follow them are saved as well. ||3||

ਸਲੋਕ, ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Salok, First Mehl:

ਆਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਰਚਿ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਉਸ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

He created the Creative Power of the Universe, within which He dwells.
