ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ. ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਇਓ; ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖਹੁ ਮਨਿ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥

ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਭੀ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਉਤੇ ਖਿਆਲ ਕਰਕੇ ਦੇਖ ਲਓ।
Without the True Guru, no one has found Him; reflect upon this in your mind and see.
ਮਨਮੁਖ. ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ; ਜਿਚਰੁ. ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ. ਨ ਕਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥੧॥

ਜਦ ਤਾਈਂ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਰਹੜੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ, ਅਧਰਮੀ ਦੀ ਗੰਦਗੀ ਧੋਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ।
The filth of the self-willed manmukhs is not washed off; they have no love for the Guru's Shabad. ||1||
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ; ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਚਲੁ ॥
man mere; satigur kai bhaanai chal |
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ! ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਟੁਰ।
O my mind, walk in harmony with the True Guru.
ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਸਹਿ. ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤੁ ਪੀਵਹਿ; ਤਾ. ਸੁਖ ਲਹਹਿ ਮਹਲੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਐਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿੱਜ ਦੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸੇਗਾ, ਆਬਿ-ਹਿਯਾਤ ਛਕੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਹਜੂਰੀ ਦੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
Dwell within the home of your own inner being, and drink in the Ambrosial Nectar; you shall attain the Peace of the Mansion of His Presence. ||1||Pause||
ਅਉਗੁਣਵੰਤੀ. ਗੁਣੁ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ; ਬਹਣਿ ਨ ਮਿਲੈ. ਹਦੂਰਿ ॥
aaugunavantee. gun ko nahee; behan na milai. hadoor |
ਗੁਣ-ਬਿਹੁਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਕੋਈ ਖੂਬੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਬੈਠਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ।
The unvirtuous have no merit; they are not allowed to sit in His Presence.
ਮਨਮੁਖਿ. ਸਬਦੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਈ; ਅਵਗਣਿ. ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦੂਰਿ ॥
manamukh. sabad na jaanee; avagan. so prabh door |
ਅਧਰਮਣ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਨੇਕੀ-ਵਿਹੁਣ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਸ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਦੁਰੇਡੇ ਹੈ।
The self-willed manmukhs do not know the Shabad; those without virtue are far removed from God.
ਜਿਨੀ ਸਚੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ; ਸਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥
jinee sach pachhaaniaa; sach rate bharapoor |
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੰਞਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸੱਚ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਪਰੀ-ਪੂਰਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who recognize the True One are permeated and attuned to Truth.
ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਮਨੁ ਬੇਧਿਆ; ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਆਪਿ ਹਦੂਰਿ ॥੨॥

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਨ੍ਹਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਆਪਣੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Their minds are pierced through by the Word of the Guru's Shabad, and God Himself ushers them into His Presence. ||2||
ਆਪੇ ਰੰਗਣਿ ਰੰਗਿਓਨੁ; ਸਬਦੇ ਲਇਓਨੁ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਰੰਗ-ਦੀ ਮੱਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
He Himself dyes us in the Color of His Love; through the Word of His Shabad, He unites us with Himself.
ਸਚਾ ਰੰਗੁ. ਨ ਉਤਰੈ; ਜੋ ਸਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥
sachaa rang. na utarai; jo sach rate liv laae |
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਰੰਗੀਜੇ ਹਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੱਚੀ-ਰੰਗਤ ਲਹਿੰਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ।
This True Color shall not fade away, for those who are attuned to His Love.
ਚਾਰੇ ਕੁੰਡਾ ਭਵਿ ਥਕੇ; ਮਨਮੁਖ. ਬੂਝ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥
chaare kunddaa bhav thake; manamukh. boojh na paae |
ਆਪ ਹੁੰਦਰੇ ਚਾਰੇ ਪਾਸੀਂ ਭਉਂਦੇ ਹੰਭ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪੰਤੂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੀ।
The self-willed manmukhs grow weary of wandering around in all four directions, but they do not understand.
ਜਿਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲੇ ਸੋ ਮਿਲੈ; ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੩॥
jis satigur mele so milai; sachai sabad samaae |3|
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਮਿਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸੱਚੇ-ਸਾਈਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
One who is united with the True Guru, meets and merges in the True Word of the Shabad. ||3||
ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਘਣੇਰੇ ਕਰਿ ਥਕੀ; ਮੇਰਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਾਟੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
mitr ghanere kar thakee; meraa dukh kaattai koe |
ਇਹ ਖਿਆਲ ਕਰਕੇ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਦੁਖੜੇ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਸੱਜਣ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਹਾਰ ਗਈ ਹਾਂ।
I have grown weary of making so many friends, hoping that someone might be able to end my suffering.
ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ. ਦੁਖੁ ਕਟਿਆ; ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਇ ॥

ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਗਮ ਮੁਕ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
Meeting with my Beloved, my suffering has ended; I have attained Union with the Word of the Shabad.
ਸਚੁ ਖਟਣਾ. ਸਚੁ ਰਾਸਿ ਹੈ; ਸਚੇ ਸਚੀ ਸੋਇ ॥
sach khattanaa. sach raas hai; sache sachee soe |
ਸਤਿਵਾਦੀ-ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਦੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਹੀ ਸੋੰਭਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਪੱਲੇ ਸਚਾਈ ਦੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸੱਚ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਖੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ।
Earning Truth, and accumulating the Wealth of Truth, the truthful person gains a reputation of Truth.
ਸਚਿ ਮਿਲੇ. ਸੇ ਨ ਵਿਛੁੜਹਿ; ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥੨੬॥੫੯॥

ਨੇਕ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੋ ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਛੜਦੇ।
Meeting with the True One, O Nanak, the Gurmukh shall not be separated from Him again. ||4||26||59||

ਆਪੇ ਕਾਰਣੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਰੇ; ਸਿ੍ਰਸਟਿ ਦੇਖੈ ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਇ ॥
aape kaaran karataa kare; srisatt dekhai aap upaae |
ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਾਰਯ ਦਾ ਸਾਧਨ ਤੇ ਰਚਨਹਾਰ ਰਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਜ ਕੇ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Creator Himself created the Creation; He produced the Universe, and He Himself watches over it.
ਸਭ ਏਕੋ ਇਕੁ ਵਰਤਦਾ; ਅਲਖੁ. ਨ ਲਖਿਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
sabh eko ik varatadaa; alakh. na lakhiaa jaae |
ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕੱਲਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
The One and Only Lord is pervading and permeating all. The Unseen cannot be seen.
ਆਪੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੈ; ਆਪੇ ਦੇਇ ਬੁਝਾਇ ॥
aape prabhoo deaal hai; aape dee bujhaae |
ਸਾਹਿਬ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਮਝ ਪਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
God Himself is Merciful; He Himself bestows understanding.
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਸਦ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ; ਸਚਿ ਰਹੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੧॥
guramatee sad man vasiaa; sach rahe liv laae |1|
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਤਾਬੇ ਸੱਚਾ-ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਰiੰਹਦਾ ਹੈ।
Through the Guru's Teachings, the True One dwells forever in the mind of those who remain lovingly attached to Him. ||1||
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ; ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਮੰਨਿ ਲੈ ਰਜਾਇ ॥
man mere; gur kee man lai rajaae |
ਹੇ ਮੈਡੇਂ ਮਨੂਏ! ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਾਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਕਰ।
O my mind, surrender to the Guru's Will.
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਸਭੁ ਥੀਐ; ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
man tan seetal sabh theeai; naam vasai man aae |1| rahaau |
ਤੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਸਮੂਹ ਸ਼ਾਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਵਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
Mind and body are totally cooled and soothed, and the Naam comes to dwell in the mind. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਨਿ ਕਰਿ ਕਾਰਣੁ ਧਾਰਿਆ; ਸੋਈ ਸਾਰ ਕਰੇਇ ॥
jin kar kaaran dhaariaa; soee saar karee |
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਹਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਟਿਕਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Having created the creation, He supports it and takes care of it.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਛਾਣੀਐ; ਜਾ ਆਪੇ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥
gur kai sabad pachhaaneeai; jaa aape nadar karee |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਅਸੀਂ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੀ ਸਿੰਞਾਣ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਜਦ ਉਹ ਖੁਦ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ-ਦੀ-ਨਿਗ੍ਹਾ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Word of the Guru's Shabad is realized, when He Himself bestows His Glance of Grace.
ਸੇ ਜਨ ਸਬਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ; ਤਿਤੁ ਸਚੈ ਦਰਬਾਰਿ ॥
se jan sabade sohane; tith sachai darabaar |
ਉਹ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਸੱਚੇ-ਸਾਹਿਬਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ,
Those who are beautifully adorned with the Shabad in the Court of the True Lord
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੇ; ਆਪਿ ਮੇਲੇ ਕਰਤਾਰਿ ॥੨॥

ਉਹ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਜੋ ਗੁਰਾਂ-ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੱਚੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
-those Gurmukhs are attuned to the True Word of the Shabad; the Creator unites them with Himself. ||2||
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹਣਾ; ਜਿਸ ਦਾ. ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰੁ ॥
guramatee sach salaahanaa; jis daa. ant na paaraavaar |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਖ-ਮਤ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਚੇ-ਪੁਰਖ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤੀ ਕਰ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਓੜਕ, ਇਹ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਿਰਾ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ।
Through the Guru's Teachings, praise the True One, who has no end or limitation.
ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਆਪੇ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਵਸੈ; ਹੁਕਮੇ ਕਰੇ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
ghatt ghatt aape hukam vasai; hukame kare beechaar |
ਹਰ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਈਂ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
He dwells in each and every heart, by the Hukam of His Command; by His Hukam, we contemplate Him.
ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਸਾਲਾਹੀਐ; ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਖੋਇ ॥
gurasabadee saalaaheeai; haumai vichahu khoe |
ਆਪਣੀ ਹੰਗਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਕੇ, ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰ।
So praise Him through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, and drive out egotism from within.
ਸਾ ਧਨ ਨਾਵੈ ਬਾਹਰੀ; ਅਵਗਣਵੰਤੀ ਰੋਇ ॥੩॥
saa dhan naavai baaharee; avaganavantee roe |3|
ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੀ ਪਾਪਣ ਪਤਨੀ ਰੋਂਦੀ ਤੇ ਚੀਕਦੀ ਹੈ।
That soul-bride who lacks the Lord's Name acts without virtue, and so she grieves. ||3||
ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹੀ ਸਚਿ ਲਗਾ; ਸਚੈ ਨਾਇ ਤਿ੍ਰਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
sach salaahee sach lagaa; sachai naae tripat hoe |
ਮੈਂ ਸਚੇ-ਸਾਈਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਸਚੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਚੇ-ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਰੱਜ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Praising the True One, attached to the True One, I am satisfied with the True Name.
ਗੁਣ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ. ਗੁਣ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹਾ; ਅਵਗੁਣ ਕਢਾ ਧੋਇ ॥
gun veechaaree. gun sangrahaa; avagun kadtaa dhoe |
ਨੇਕੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਮੈਂ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਨੇਕੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਜਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਬਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਧੋ ਸੁਟਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
Contemplating His Virtues, I accumulate virtue and merit; I wash myself clean of demerits.
ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਦਾ; ਫਿਰਿ ਵੇਛੋੜਾ. ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥
aape mel milaaeidaa; fir vechhorraa. na hoe |
ਸੁਆਮੀ ਖੁਦ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਅੰਦਰ ਮਿਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਜੁਦਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।
He Himself unites us in His Union; there is no more separation.

ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ੳਪਮਾ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
O Nanak, I sing the Praises of my Guru; through Him, I find that God. ||4||27||60||

ਸਿਰੀ ਰਾਗ, ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਕਾਮ ਗਹੇਲੀਏ; ਕਿਆ ਚਲਹਿ ਬਾਹ ਲੁਡਾਇ ॥
sun sun kaam gahelee; kiaa chaleh baah luddaae |
ਕੰਨ ਕਰ, ਕੰਨ ਕਰ, ਨੀ ਤੂੰ ਸ਼ਹਿਵਤ ਦੀ ਫੜੀ ਹੋਈ, ਤ੍ਰੀਮਤੇ! ਤੂੰ ਬਾਂਹ ਉਲਾਰ ਕੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਤੁਰਦੀ ਹੈਂ?
Listen, listen, O soul-bride: you are overtaken by sexual desire-why do you walk like that, swinging your arms in joy?
ਆਪਣਾ ਪਿਰੁ. ਨ ਪਛਾਣਹੀ; ਕਿਆ ਮੁਹੁ ਦੇਸਹਿ. ਜਾਇ ॥
aapanaa pir. na pachhaanahee; kiaa muhu deseh. jaae |
ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਿੰਞਾਣਦੀ। ਉਥੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਦਿਖਾਵੇਗੀ?
You do not recognize your own Husband Lord! When you go to Him, what face will you show Him?
ਜਿਨੀ ਸਖਂੀ. ਕੰਤੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ; ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਲਾਗਉ ਪਾਇ ॥

ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਸਹੇਲੀਆਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਪਰਸਦੀ ਹਾਂ।
I touch the feet of my sister soul-brides who have known their Husband Lord.
ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਜੈਸੀ. ਥੀ ਰਹਾ; ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੧॥

ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਅੰਦਰ ਜੁੜਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਰਗੀ ਹੀ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਾਂ।
If only I could be like them! Joining the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, I am united in His Union. ||1||
