ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਵੇਖਦਾ; ਕਿਉ ਮੁਕਰਿ ਪਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
sabh kichh sunadaa vekhadaa; kiau mukar peaa jaae |
ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਆਦਮੀ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਨਕਾਰੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
He hears and sees everything. How can anyone deny Him?
ਪਾਪੋ ਪਾਪੁ ਕਮਾਵਦੇ; ਪਾਪੇ ਪਚਹਿ ਪਚਾਇ ॥
paapo paap kamaavade; paape pacheh pachaae |
ਜੋ ਗੁਨਾਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਗੁਨਾਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਗੁਨਾਹਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਗਲ-ਸੜ ਕੇ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who sin again and again, shall rot and die in sin.
ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨਦਰਿ. ਨ ਆਵਈ; ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝ. ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥
so prabh nadar. na aavee; manamukh boojh. na paae |
ਉਹ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਦੇ। ਆਪ-ਹੁਦਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।
God's Glance of Grace does not come to them; those self-willed manmukhs do not obtain understanding.
ਜਿਸੁ ਵੇਖਾਲੇ ਸੋਈ ਵੇਖੈ; ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਇ ॥੪॥੨੩॥੫੬॥
jis vekhaale soee vekhai; naanak guramukh paae |4|23|56|
ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਵਿਖਾਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
They alone see the Lord, unto whom He reveals Himself. O Nanak, the Gurmukhs find Him. ||4||23||56||

Siree Raag, Third Mehl:
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ. ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਤੁਟਈ; ਹਉਮੈ ਪੀੜ. ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
bin gur. rog na tuttee; haumai peerr. na jaae |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਬੀਮਾਰੀ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਤੇ ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਦਰਦ ਰਫ਼ਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
Without the Guru, the disease is not cured, and the pain of egotism is not removed.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ; ਨਾਮੇ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ-ਸਦਕਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
By Guru's Grace, He dwells in the mind, and one remains immersed in His Name.
ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ; ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ. ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਇ ॥੧॥
gurasabadee har paaeeai; bin sabadai. bharam bhulaae |1|
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਆਦਮੀ ਵਹਿਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the Lord is found; without the Shabad, people wander, deceived by doubt. ||1||
ਮਨ ਰੇ; ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
man re; nij ghar vaasaa hoe |
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਤੂੰ ਵਿਆਪਕ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕਰ।
O mind, dwell in the balanced state of your own inner being.
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਾਲਾਹਿ ਤੂ; ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣੁ. ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
raam naam saalaeh too; fir aavan jaan. na hoe |1| rahaau |
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿੱਜ ਦੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਪਾ ਲਵੇਗੀ ਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਆਉਣਾ ਤੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
Praise the Lord's Name, and you shall no longer come and go in reincarnation. ||1||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਇਕੋ ਦਾਤਾ ਵਰਤਦਾ; ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ. ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
har iko daataa varatadaa; doojaa avar. na koe |
ਕੇਵਲ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਹੀ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਛ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਹੋਰ ਦੂਸਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ।
The One Lord alone is the Giver, pervading everywhere. There is no other at all.
ਸਬਦਿ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ; ਸਹਜੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
sabad saalaahee man vasai; sahaje hee sukh hoe |
ਜੇਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਕਰੇ, ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਸੁਤੇ ਸਿੱਧ ਹੀ, ਠੰਢ-ਚੈਨ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਵੇਗਾ।
Praise the Word of the Shabad, and He shall come to dwell in your mind; you shall be blessed with intuitive peace and poise.
ਸਭ ਨਦਰੀ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਵੇਖਦਾ; ਜੈ ਭਾਵੈ ਤੈ ਦੇਇ ॥੨॥
sabh nadaree andar vekhadaa; jai bhaavai tai dee |2|
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਨਿਗ੍ਹਾ ਹੇਠਾਂ (ਰਖਦਾ) ਜਾਂ (ਦੇਖਦਾ) ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Everything is within the Lord's Glance of Grace. As He wishes, He gives. ||2||
ਹਉਮੈ ਸਭਾ. ਗਣਤ ਹੈ; ਗਣਤੈ ਨਉ. ਸੁਖੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
haumai sabhaa. ganat hai; ganatai nau. sukh naeh |
ਹੰਕਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਹਨ ਸਮੂਹ ਗਿਣਤੀਆਂ। ਆਪਣੇ ਕਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਗਿਣਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਕੋਈ ਠੰਢ-ਚੈਨ ਨਹੀਂ।
In egotism, all must account for their actions. In this accounting, there is no peace.
ਬਿਖੁ ਕੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵਣੀ; ਬਿਖੁ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥
bikh kee kaar kamaavanee; bikh hee maeh samaeh |
ਮਨੁਖ ਮੰਦੇ ਅਮਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਪ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਗਰਕ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Acting in evil and corruption, people are immersed in corruption.
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ. ਠਉਰੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਨੀ; ਜਮਪੁਰਿ ਦੂਖ ਸਹਾਹਿ ॥੩॥

ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਤਕਲੀਫ ਉਠਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Without the Name, they find no place of rest. In the City of Death, they suffer in agony. ||3||
ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭੁ ਤਿਸ ਦਾ; ਤਿਸੈ ਦਾ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥
jeeo pindd sabh tis daa; tisai daa aadhaar |
ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਸਭ ਉਸੇ ਦੀ ਮਲਕੀਅਤ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸੇ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।
Body and soul all belong to Him; He is the Support of all.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਬੁਝੀਐ; ਤਾ ਪਾਏ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥
gur parasaadee bujheeai; taa paae mokh duaar |
ਜੇਕਰ ਬੰਦਾ, ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਲਵੇ, ਤਦ ਉਹ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
By Guru's Grace, understanding comes, and then the Door of Liberation is found.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿ ਤੂੰ; ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰੁ ॥੪॥੨੪॥੫੭॥
naanak. naam salaeh toon; ant na paaraavaar |4|24|57|
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਤੂੰ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਓੜਕ ਐਹ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਕਿਨਾਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ!
O Nanak, sing the Praises of the Naam, the Name of the Lord; He has no end or limitation. ||4||24||57||

ਕੇਵਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਆਰਾਮ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।
Those who have the Support of the True Name are in ecstasy and peace forever.
ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਇਆ; ਦੂਖ ਨਿਵਾਰਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
gurasabadee sach paaeaa; dookh nivaaranahaar |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, they obtain the True One, the Destroyer of pain.
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਾਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ; ਸਾਚੈ ਨਾਇ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
sadaa sadaa saache gun gaaveh; saachai naae piaar |
ਸਦੀਵ ਤੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਸਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਨੇਹੁੰ ਗੰਢਦੇ ਹਨ।
Forever and ever, they sing the Glorious Praises of the True One; they love the True Name.
ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਆਪਣੀ; ਦਿਤੋਨੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਭੰਡਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
kirapaa kar kai aapanee; diton bhagat bhanddaar |1|
ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਧਾਰਕੇ, ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਨੁਰਾਗ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪਰਦਾਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।
When the Lord Himself grants His Grace, He bestows the treasure of devotion. ||1||
ਮਨ ਰੇ; ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥
man re; sadaa anand gun gaae |
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਪਰਸੰਨਤਾ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
O mind, sing His Glorious Praises, and be in ecstasy forever.
ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ; ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਸੱਚੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਰੱਬ ਨਾਲ ਅਭੇਦ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
Through the True Word of His Bani, the Lord is obtained, and one remains immersed in the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਸਚੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਲੁ ਥੀਆ; ਰਤਾ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
sachee bhagatee man laal theea; rataa sehaj subhaae |
ਦਿਲੀ ਉਪਾਸ਼ਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਆਤਮਾ ਸੂਹੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਭਾਵਕ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
In true devotion, the mind is dyed in the deep crimson color of the Lord's Love, with intuitive peace and poise.
ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਹਿਆ; ਕਹਣਾ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
gurasabadee man mohiaa; kahanaa kachhoo na jaae |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਲਾਮ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਐਸੀ ਫਰੇਫਤਾ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਵਰਨਣ ਕੀਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
The mind is fascinated by the Word of the Guru's Shabad, which cannot be described.
ਜਿਹਵਾ ਰਤੀ. ਸਬਦਿ ਸਚੈ; ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤੁ ਪੀਵੈ. ਰਸਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥
jihavaa ratee. sabad sachai; amrit peevai. ras gun gaae |
ਜੀਭ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਸੁਧਾ-ਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਨ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
The tongue imbued with the True Word of the Shabad drinks in the Amrit with delight, singing His Glorious Praises.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਏਹੁ ਰੰਗੁ ਪਾਈਐ; ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਰਜਾਇ ॥੨॥
guramukh ehu rang paaeeai; jis no kirapaa kare rajaae |2|
ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਸ ਈਸ਼ਵਰੀ-ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Gurmukh obtains this love, when the Lord, in His Will, grants His Grace. ||2||
ਸੰਸਾ ਇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਹੈ; ਸੁਤਿਆ. ਰੈਣਿ ਵਿਹਾਇ ॥
sansaa ihu sansaar hai; sutiaa. rain vihaae |
ਇਹ ਜਹਾਨ ਗਲਤ-ਫਹਿਮੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੁਤਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨੀਦਰਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਰਾਤਰੀ (ਜੀਵਨ) ਬੀਤ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
This world is an illusion; people pass their life-nights sleeping.
ਇਕਿ ਆਪਣੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਕਢਿ ਲਇਅਨੁ; ਆਪੇ ਲਇਓਨੁ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
eik aapanai bhaanai kadt leian; aape leon milaae |
ਕਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
By the Pleasure of His Will, He lifts some out, and unites them with Himself.
ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਆਪਿ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ; ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਚੁਕਾਇ ॥
aape hee aap man vasiaa; maaeaa mohu chukaae |
ਉਹ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ (ਆਦਮੀ ਦੇ) ਆਤਮੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆ ਟਿਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਹਨੀ ਦੀ ਮੁਹੱਬਤ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
He Himself abides in the mind, and drives out attachment to Maya.
ਆਪਿ ਵਡਾਈ ਦਿਤੀਅਨੁ; ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਦੇਇ ਬੁਝਾਇ ॥੩॥
aap vaddaaee diteean; guramukh dee bujhaae |3|
ਉਹ ਆਪੇ ਇਜ਼ਤ ਆਬਰੂ ਬਖਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
He Himself bestows glorious greatness; He inspires the Gurmukh to understand. ||3||
ਸਭਨਾ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ; ਭੁਲਿਆ ਲਏ ਸਮਝਾਇ ॥
sabhanaa kaa daataa ek hai; bhuliaa le samajhaae |
ਕੇਵਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਘੁਸਿਆ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਰਾਹੇ ਪਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The One Lord is the Giver of all. He corrects those who make mistakes.
ਇਕਿ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਖੁਆਇਅਨੁ; ਦੂਜੈ ਛਡਿਅਨੁ ਲਾਇ ॥
eik aape aap khuaaeian; doojai chhaddian laae |
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਮਰਾਹ ਕਰ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਸ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
He Himself has deceived some, and attached them to duality.
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ; ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਤਾਬੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਪਰਮ-ਆਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
Through the Guru's Teachings, the Lord is found, and one's light merges into the Light.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੇ ਰਤਿਆ; ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੪॥੨੫॥੫੮॥
anadin naame ratiaa; naanak naam samaae |4|25|58|
ਰੈਣ ਦਿਹੁੰ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਜੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਨਾਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Attuned to the Name of the Lord night and day, O Nanak, you shall be absorbed into the Name. ||4||25||58||

ਗੁਣਵੰਤੀ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਇਆ; ਤਿ੍ਰਸਨਾ ਤਜਿ ਵਿਕਾਰ ॥
gunavantee sach paaeaa; trisanaa taj vikaar |
ਗੁਣਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੀ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਮ ਸੱਚ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
The virtuous obtain Truth; they give up their desires for evil and corruption.
ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਮਨੁ ਰੰਗਿਆ; ਰਸਨਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥
gurasabadee man rangiaa; rasanaa prem piaar |
ਅਜੇਹਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਗੁਰਾਂ-ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਬਾਨ ਉਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਤੇ ਪਿਰਹੜੀ ਹੈ।
Their minds are imbued with the Word of the Guru's Shabad; the Love of their Beloved is on their tongues.
