ਮਨਮੁਖ ਜਨਮੁ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਗਇਆ; ਕਿਆ ਮੁਹੁ ਦੇਸੀ ਜਾਇ ॥੩॥
manamukh janam birathaa geaa; kiaa muhu desee jaae |3|
ਅਧਰਮੀ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਬੇ-ਅਰਥ ਬੀਤ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਮੂਹਰੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਖਾਏਗਾ?
The life of the self-willed manmukh passes uselessly. What face will he show when he passes beyond? ||3||
ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਹੈ; ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਿ. ਕਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
sabh kichh aape aap hai; haumai vich. kehan na jaae |
ਸੁਆਮੀ ਖੁਦ-ਬ-ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਹੈ। ਹੰਕਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ।
God Himself is everything; those who are in their ego cannot even speak of this.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਛਾਣੀਐ; ਦੁਖੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥
gur kai sabad pachhaaneeai; dukh haumai vichahu gavaae |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਬੀਮਾਰੀ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਪੁੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, He is realized, and the pain of egotism is eradicated from within.
ਸਤਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਨਿ ਆਪਣਾ; ਹਉ. ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਲਾਗਉ ਪਾਇ ॥
satagur sevan aapanaa; hau. tin kai laagau paae |
ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿੱਜ਼ ਦੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਘਾਲ ਕਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
I fall at the feet of those who serve their True Guru.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਦਰਿ ਸਚੈ ਸਚਿਆਰ ਹਹਿ; ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ॥੪॥੨੧॥੫੪॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਸੱਚੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੱਚੇ ਪਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
O Nanak, I am a sacrifice to those who are found to be true in the True Court. ||4||21||54||

ਜੇ ਵੇਲਾ ਵਖਤੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੀਐ; ਤਾ ਕਿਤੁ ਵੇਲਾ ਭਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
je velaa vakhat veechaareeai; taa kit velaa bhagat hoe |
ਜੇਕਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਮੁਨਾਸਬ ਵਕਤ ਤੇ ਮੁਹਤ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਕਰੀਏ, ਤਦ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
Consider the time and the moment-when should we worship the Lord?
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੇ ਰਤਿਆ; ਸਚੇ ਸਚੀ ਸੋਇ ॥

ਰੈਣ ਦਿਹੁੰ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੱਚੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਹੀ ਸ਼ੁਹਰਤ ਹੈ।
Night and day, one who is attuned to the Name of the True Lord is true.
ਇਕੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਵਿਸਰੈ; ਭਗਤਿ ਕਿਨੇਹੀ ਹੋਇ ॥

ਜਦ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਇਕ ਮੁਹਤ ਭਰ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲ ਜਾਵੇ, ਉਹ ਕਿਸ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ ਪਰੇਮ-ਮਈ ਸੇਵਾ ਹੈ?
If someone forgets the Beloved Lord, even for an instant, what sort of devotion is that?
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਸਾਚ ਸਿਉ; ਸਾਸੁ. ਨ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਕੋਇ ॥੧॥
man tan seetal saach siau; saas. na birathaa koe |1|
ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਠੰਢੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਸੁਆਸ ਭੀ ਬੇਅਰਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ।
One whose mind and body are cooled and soothed by the True Lord-no breath of his is wasted. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ; ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥
mere man; har kaa naam dhiaae |
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ! ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ।
O my mind, meditate on the Name of the Lord.
ਸਾਚੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਤਾ ਥੀਐ; ਜਾ ਹਰਿ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saachee bhagat taa theeai; jaa har vasai man aae |1| rahaau |
ਕੇਵਲ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਉਪਾਸ਼ਨਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਜੇਕਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਆ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਵੇ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
True devotional worship is performed when the Lord comes to dwell in the mind. ||1||Pause||
ਸਹਜੇ ਖੇਤੀ ਰਾਹੀਐ; ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਬੀਜੁ ਪਾਇ ॥
sahaje khetee raaheeai; sach naam beej paae |
ਆਤਮਕ-ਟਿਕਾਉ ਅੰਦਰ ਪੈਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਸ਼ਤ ਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਬੀ ਬੀਜ।
With intuitive ease, cultivate your farm, and plant the Seed of the True Name.
ਖੇਤੀ ਜੰਮੀ ਅਗਲੀ; ਮਨੂਆ ਰਜਾ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
khetee jamee agalee; manooaa rajaa sehaj subhaae |
ਫਸਲ ਨਿਹਾਇਤ ਚੰਗੀ ਉਗ ਆਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਦਰਤੀ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਮਨ ਐਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
The seedlings have sprouted luxuriantly, and with intuitive ease, the mind is satisfied.
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤੁ ਹੈ; ਜਿਤੁ ਪੀਤੈ ਤਿਖ ਜਾਇ ॥
gur kaa sabad amrit hai; jit peetai tikh jaae |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸੁਧਾ-ਰਸ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਤੇਹ ਬੁਝ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
The Word of the Guru's Shabad is Ambrosial Nectar; drinking it in, thirst is quenched.
ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਸਾਚਾ. ਸਚਿ ਰਤਾ; ਸਚੇ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੨॥
eihu man saachaa. sach rataa; sache rahiaa samaae |2|
ਇਹ ਸੱਚੀ-ਆਤਮਾ ਤਾ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੰਗੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ-ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
This true mind is attuned to Truth, and it remains permeated with the True One. ||2||
ਆਖਣੁ ਵੇਖਣੁ ਬੋਲਣਾ; ਸਬਦੇ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
aakhan vekhan bolanaa; sabade rahiaa samaae |
ਆਪਣੇ ਬਚਨ-ਬਿਲਾਸ, ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਬੋਲ-ਬਾਣੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਇਹ ਆਤਮਾ ਨਾਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਮੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
In speaking, in seeing and in words, remain immersed in the Shabad.
ਬਾਣੀ ਵਜੀ ਚਹੁ ਜੁਗੀ; ਸਚੋ ਸਚੁ ਸੁਣਾਇ ॥
baanee vajee chahu jugee; sacho sach sunaae |
ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਚੌਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਯੁਗਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਸਿੱਧ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਨਿਰੋਲ-ਸੱਚ ਦਾ ਪਰਚਾਰ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
The Word of the Guru's Bani vibrates throughout the four ages. As Truth, it teaches Truth.
ਹਉਮੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਰਹਿ ਗਇਆ; ਸਚੈ ਲਇਆ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
haumai meraa reh geaa; sachai leaa milaae |
ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਹੰਗਤਾ ਤੇ ਅਪਣੱਤ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Egotism and possessiveness are eliminated, and the True One absorbs them into Himself.
ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਮਹਲੁ ਹਦੂਰਿ ਹੈ; ਜੋ ਸਚਿ ਰਹੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੩॥
tin kau mehal hadoor hai; jo sach rahe liv laae |3|
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸੱਚੇ-ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਸਨੇਹ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮੰਦਰ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਦਿਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
Those who remain lovingly absorbed in the True One see the Mansion of His Presence close at hand. ||3||
ਨਦਰੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ; ਵਿਣੁ ਕਰਮਾ. ਪਾਇਆ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
nadaree naam dhiaaeeai; vin karamaa. paaeaa na jaae |
ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰiਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਇਹ ਹਾਸਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।
By His Grace, we meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. Without His Mercy, it cannot be obtained.
ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਲਹੈ; ਸਤਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਇ ॥
poorai bhaag satasangat lahai; satagur bhettai jis aae |
ਪੂਰਨ ਚੰਗੇ ਨਸੀਬਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆ ਕੇ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਾਧ-ਸੰਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Through perfect good destiny, one finds the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, and one comes to meet the True Guru.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੇ ਰਤਿਆ; ਦੁਖੁ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਜਾਇ ॥

ਹਰੀ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਰੈਣ ਦਿਹੁੰ, ਰੰਗੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਦੁਖਦਾਈ ਬਦੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
Night and day, remain attuned to the Naam, and the pain of corruption shall be dispelled from within.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੜਾ; ਨਾਮੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੪॥੨੨॥੫੫॥

ਨਾਨਕ, ਨਾਮ ਸਰੂਪ-ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਅਭੇਦ ਹੋਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਦਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, merging with the Shabad through the Name, one is immersed in the Name. ||4||22||55||

ਜੋ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਡਰ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Those who contemplate the Word of the Guru's Shabad are filled with the Fear of God.
ਸਤਸੰਗਤੀ ਸਦਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੇ; ਸਚੇ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਰਿ ॥
satasangatee sadaa mil rahe; sache ke gun saar |
ਉਹ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਸਾਧ-ਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਜੁੜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਦੀਆਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟਤਾਈਆਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
They remain forever merged with the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation; they dwell upon the Glories of the True One.
ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਮੈਲੁ ਚੁਕਾਈਅਨੁ; ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
dubidhaa mail chukaaeean; har raakhiaa ur dhaar |
ਉਹ ਦੁਚਿੱਤੇ-ਪਨ ਦੀ ਗਿਲਾਜ਼ਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਰ੍ਹੇ ਸੁਟ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਈ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ।
They cast off the filth of their mental duality, and they keep the Lord enshrined in their hearts.
ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਚੁ ਮਨਿ; ਸਚੇ ਨਾਲਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥੧॥
sachee baanee sach man; sache naal piaar |1|
ਸੱਚੀ ਹੈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੋਲ ਚਾਲ, ਸੱਚਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਸਾਥ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਹੈ।
True is their speech, and true are their minds. They are in love with the True One. ||1||
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ; ਹਉਮੈ ਮੈਲੁ ਭਰ ਨਾਲਿ ॥
man mere; haumai mail bhar naal |
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨੂਏ! ਤੂੰ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਗੰਦਗੀ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
O my mind, you are filled with the filth of egotism.
ਹਰਿ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੋਹਣਾ; ਸਬਦਿ ਸਵਾਰਣਹਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har niramal sadaa sohanaa; sabad savaaranahaar |1| rahaau |
ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਕਰਣਹਾਰ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
The Immaculate Lord is eternally Beautiful. We are adorned with the Word of the Shabad. ||1||Pause||
ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਹਿਆ; ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪੇ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
sachai sabad man mohiaa; prabh aape le milaae |
ਸਾਹਿਬ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੇ ਮੋਹਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
God joins to Himself those whose minds are fascinated with the True Word of His Shabad.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੇ ਰਤਿਆ; ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥

ਰੈਣ ਦਿਹੁੰ ਉਸ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਪਰਮ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
Night and day, they are attuned to the Naam, and their light is absorbed into the Light.
ਜੋਤੀ ਹੂ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਪਦਾ; ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਗੁਰ. ਬੂਝ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥
jotee hoo prabh jaapadaa; bin satagur. boojh na paae |
ਕੇਵਲ (ਅੰਦਰੂਨੀ) ਚਾਨਣ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਗਿਆਤ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।
Through His Light, God is revealed. Without the True Guru, understanding is not obtained.
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ; ਸਤਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਆਇ ॥੨॥
jin kau poorab likhiaa; satagur bhettiaa tin aae |2|
ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਪਰਾਪੂਰਬਲੀ ਐਸੀ ਲਿਖਤਾਕਾਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
The True Guru comes to meet those who have such pre-ordained destiny. ||2||
ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ. ਸਭ ਡੁਮਣੀ; ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਖੁਆਇ ॥

ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਅਵਾਜਾਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਨੇ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਛਡਿਆ ਹੈ।
Without the Name, all are miserable. In the love of duality, they are ruined.
ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ. ਘੜੀ ਨ ਜੀਵਦੀ; ਦੁਖੀ ਰੈਣਿ ਵਿਹਾਇ ॥
tis bin. gharree na jeevadee; dukhee rain vihaae |
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ (ਆਤਮਾ) ਮੁਹਤ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਸੁਖੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੀਉਂਦੀ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਾਤਰੀ (ਜੀਵਨ) ਤਕਲੀਫ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਜਾਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
Without Him, I cannot survive even for an instant, and my life-night passes in anguish.
ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਣਾ ਅੰਧੁਲਾ; ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ॥
bharam bhulaanaa andhulaa; fir fir aavai jaae |
ਵਹਿਮਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਘੁਸਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Wandering in doubt, the spiritually blind come and go in reincarnation, over and over again.
ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਣੀ; ਆਪੇ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੩॥
nadar kare prabh aapanee; aape le milaae |3|
ਜੇਕਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਧਾਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਅਭੇਦ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
When God Himself bestows His Glance of Grace, He blends us into Himself. ||3||
