Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji

ਜਗਤ ਪਾਲਣ-ਪੋਸਣਹਾਰ ਇਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਫ਼ਰ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।

The One Lord of the Universe is the Support of His humble servants.

ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਪਿਰਹੜੀ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ।

They love the One Lord; their minds are filled with love for the Lord.

ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਖਜਾਨੇ ਹਨ।

The Name of the Lord is all treasures for them. ||3||

ਜੋ ਉਚੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,

They are in love with the Supreme Lord God;

ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਮਲ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੀ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਰਹੁ-ਰੀਤੀ।

their actions are pure, and their lifestyle is true.

ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰਾ ਨਵਿਰਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।

The Perfect Guru has dispelled the darkness.

ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੰਦਬੰਨਾ ਰਹਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੰਤ ਹੈ।

Nanak's God is Incomparable and Infinite. ||4||24||93||

ਗਊੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ।

Gauree Gwaarayree, Fifth Mehl:

ਜਿਸ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Those whose minds are filled with the Lord, swim across.

ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Those who have the blessing of good karma, meet with the Lord.

ਦਰਦ, ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਤੇ ਡਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੋਰਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਅਸਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ,

Pain, disease and fear do not affect them at all.

ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਆਬਿ-ਹਿਯਾਤੀ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

They meditate on the Ambrosial Name of the Lord within their hearts. ||1||

ਹੇ ਬੰਦੇ! ਤੂੰ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਉਚੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰ।

Meditate on the Supreme Lord God, the Transcendent Lord.

ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

From the Perfect Guru, this understanding is obtained. ||1||Pause||

ਕਰਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਕ ਹੈ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ।

The Merciful Lord is the Doer, the Cause of causes.

ਉਹ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਇਨਸਾਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਧਾਰੀਆਂ, ਦੀ ਪਰਵਰਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

He cherishes and nurtures all beings and creatures.

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਸਾਡੀ ਸੋਚ ਸਮਝ ਤੋਂ ਉਚੇਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਹੱਦਬੰਨਾ-ਰਹਿਤ ਹੈ।

He is Inaccessible, Incomprehensible, Eternal and Infinite.

ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ! ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਤਾਬੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰ।

Meditate on Him, O my mind, through the Teachings of the Perfect Guru. ||2||

ਉਸ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਖਜਾਨੇ ਹਨ।

Serving Him, all treasures are obtained.

ਸਾਈਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇੱਜਤ ਪਾਈ ਦੀ ਹੈ।

Worshipping God, honor is obtained.

ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ,

Working for Him is never in vain;

ਉਸ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰ।

forever and ever, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||3||

ਦਿਲਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਾਨਣਹਾਰ, ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ, ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਧਾਰ।

Show Mercy to me, O God, O Searcher of hearts.

ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਾਲਕ ਆਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਹੈ।

The Unseen Lord and Master is the Treasure of Peace.

ਬੰਦੇ ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਲੋੜਦੇ ਹਨ ਹੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ!

All beings and creatures seek Your Sanctuary;

ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਮਹਾਨਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਵੇ।

Nanak is blessed to receive the greatness of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||4||25||94||

ਗਊੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ।

Gauree Gwaarayree, Fifth Mehl:

ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੀ ਰੁਹੁ-ਰੀਤੀ ਹੈ,

Our way of life is in His Hands;

ਤੂੰ ਹੇ ਬੰਦੇ! ਨਿਖਸਮਿਆ ਦੇ ਖਸਮ, ਉਸ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰ।

remember Him, the Master of the masterless.

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਸਾਰੇ ਗ਼ਮ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

When God comes to mind, all pains depart.

ਭਗਵਾਨ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਮੂਹ ਡਰ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

All fears are dispelled through the Name of the Lord. ||1||

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਹੋਰਸ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਕਿਉਂ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ?

Why do you fear any other than the Lord?

ਜੇਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਆਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਉਂ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ? ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Forgetting the Lord, why do you pretend to be at peace? ||1||Pause||

ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਕਈ ਧਰਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਕਾਇਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ,

He established the many worlds and skies.

ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਨੂਰ ਨਾਲ ਆਤਮ ਪਰਕਾਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ,

The soul is illumined with His Light;

ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ,

no one can revoke His Blessing.

ਉਸ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਤੇ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰ ਹੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਡਰ-ਰਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਜਾ।

Meditate, meditate in remembrance on God, and become fearless. ||2||

ਦਿਨ ਦੇ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰ।

Twenty-four hours a day, meditate in remembrance on God's Name.

ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਨੇਕਾ ਯਾਤ੍ਰਾ-ਅਸਥਾਨਾ ਦੇ ਨ੍ਹਾਉਣੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

In it are the many sacred shrines of pilgrimage and cleansing baths.

ਤੂੰ ਉੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਸੰਭਾਲ, ਹੇ ਬੰਦੇ!

Seek the Sanctuary of the Supreme Lord God.

ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਬਦਨਾਮੀਆਂ, ਇਕ ਮੁਹਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੇਸਤੇ-ਨਾਬੂਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ।

Millions of mistakes shall be erased in an instant. ||3||

ਉਹ ਮੁਛੰਦਗੀ-ਰਹਿਤ ਪੂਰਨ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੈ।

The Perfect King is self-sufficient.

ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਗੋਲੇ ਦਾ ਉਸ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੱਚਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਹੈ।

God's servant has true faith in Him.

ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਰਖਿਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

Giving him His Hand, the Perfect Guru protects him.

ਨਾਨਕ, ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਾਨ ਹੇ ਉੱਚਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ।

O Nanak, the Supreme Lord God is All-powerful. ||4||26||95||

ਗਊੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ।

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

By Guru's Grace, my mind is attached to the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

ਅਨੇਕਾ ਜਨਮਾ ਦਾ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਇਹ ਹੁਣ ਜਾਗ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ।

Asleep for so many incarnations, it is now awakened.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਮਈ ਕਲਾਮ ਦੇ ਜਰੀਏ, ਮਨ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

I chant the Ambrosial Bani, the Glorious Praises of God.

ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਸਿਖ-ਮਤ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੇ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਆਈ ਹੈ।

The Pure Teachings of the Perfect Guru have been revealed to me. ||1||

ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ।

Meditating in remembrance on God, I have found total peace.

ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੋਖੇ ਹੀ ਸਮੂਹ ਆਰਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Within my home, and outside as well, there is peace and poise all around. ||1||Pause||

ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੰਞਾਣ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

I have recognized the One who created me.

ਮਿਹਰ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ, ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਅਭੇਦ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।

Showing His Mercy, God has blended me with Himself.

ਬਾਂਹ ਤੋਂ ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਿੱਜ ਦਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।

Taking me by the arm, He has made me His Own.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਵਾਰਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਮੈਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

I continually chant and meditate on the Sermon of the Lord, Har, Har. ||2||

ਜਾਦੂ ਟੂਣੇ ਟਾਮਣ, ਦੁਆਈ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਸਚਿਤ ਕਰਮ,

Mantras, tantras, all-curing medicines and acts of atonement,
