har har naam; jeea praan adhaar |
ਸਮੂਹ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਜਿੰਦ-ਜਾਨ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।
are all in the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, the Support of the soul and the breath of life.
ਸਾਚਾ ਧਨੁ; ਪਾਇਓ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ॥
saachaa dhan; paaeo har rang |
ਮੈਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
I have obtained the true wealth of the Lord's Love.
ਦੁਤਰੁ ਤਰੇ; ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥੩॥

ਸਤਿਸੰਗਤ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕਠਨ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
I have crossed over the treacherous world-ocean in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||3||
ਸੁਖਿ ਬੈਸਹੁ; ਸੰਤ ਸਜਨ ਪਰਵਾਰੁ ॥
sukh baisahu; sant sajan paravaar |
ਹੇ ਸਾਧੂਓ! ਮ੍ਰਿਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁਦਾਇ ਸਣੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠੋ।
Sit in peace, O Saints, with the family of friends.
ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਖਟਿਓ; ਜਾ ਕਾ. ਨਾਹਿ ਸੁਮਾਰੁ ॥
har dhan khattio; jaa kaa. naeh sumaar |
ਮੈਂ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਕਮਾਈ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਹੈ।
Earn the wealth of the Lord, which is beyond estimation.
ਜਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ; ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਇ ॥
jiseh paraapat; tis gur dee |
ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਦੋਲਤ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਦਾ ਮਿਲਣਾ ਨਿਯਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
He alone obtains it, unto whom the Guru has bestowed it.
ਨਾਨਕ; ਬਿਰਥਾ ਕੋਇ. ਨ ਹੇਇ ॥੪॥੨੭॥੯੬॥

ਨਾਨਕ, ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁਆਰੇ ਉਤੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਖਾਲੀ ਹੱਥੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ।
O Nanak, no one shall go away empty-handed. ||4||27||96||

ਹਸਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਹੋਹਿ; ਤਤਕਾਲ ॥
hasat puneet hohi; tatakaal |
ਹੱਥ ਝਟ ਪਟ ਹੀ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
The hands are sanctified instantly,
ਬਿਨਸਿ ਜਾਹਿ; ਮਾਇਆ ਜੰਜਾਲ ॥
binas jaeh; maaeaa janjaal |
ਮੋਹਣੀ ਦੇ ਅਲਸੇਟੇ ਮੁਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
and the entanglements of Maya are dispelled.
ਰਸਨਾ ਰਮਹੁ; ਰਾਮ ਗੁਣ ਨੀਤ ॥
rasanaa ramahu; raam gun neet |
ਜੇਕਰ ਜੀਭ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੀ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ।
Repeat constantly with your tongue the Glorious Praises of the Lord,
ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਹੁ; ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ਮੀਤ ॥੧॥
sukh paavahu; mere bhaaee meet |1|
ਐਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਠੰਢ ਚੈਨ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਾ ਤੇ ਮਿੱਤ੍ਰ।
and you shall find peace, O my friends, O Siblings of Destiny. ||1||
ਲਿਖੁ ਲੇਖਣਿ; ਕਾਗਦਿ ਮਸਵਾਣੀ ॥
likh lekhan; kaagad masavaanee |
ਆਪਣੀ ਕਲਮ ਤੇ ਦਵਾਤ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਕਾਗਜ ਉਤੇ ਲਿਖਾਈ ਕਰ,
With pen and ink, write upon your paper
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ; ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤ ਬਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
raam naam; har amrit baanee |1| rahaau |
ਉਸ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਤੇ ਰੱਬੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਮਈ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
the Name of the Lord, the Ambrosial Word of the Lord's Bani. ||1||Pause||
ਇਹ ਕਾਰਜਿ; ਤੇਰੇ ਜਾਹਿ ਬਿਕਾਰ ॥
eih kaaraj; tere jaeh bikaar |
ਏਸ ਕਰਮ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਧੋਤੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
By this act, your sins shall be washed away.
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਰਾਮ; ਨਾਹੀ ਜਮ ਮਾਰ ॥
simarat raam; naahee jam maar |
ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਰਿਸ਼ਤਾ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।
Remembering the Lord in meditation, you shall not be punished by the Messenger of Death.
ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਕੇ ਦੂਤ; ਨ ਜੋਹੈ ॥
dharam raae ke doot; na johai |
ਪਰਮ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਕਾਸਦ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਤਕਾਉਣਗੇ ਨਹੀਂ,
The couriers of the Righteous Judge of Dharma shall not touch you.
ਮਾਇਆ ਮਗਨ; ਨ ਕਛੂਐ ਮੋਹੈ ॥੨॥
maaeaa magan; na kachhooai mohai |2|
ਮੋਹਨੀ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਭੋਰਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਫ਼ਰੇਫ਼ਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
The intoxication of Maya shall not entice you at all. ||2||
ਉਧਰਹਿ ਆਪਿ; ਤਰੈ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
audhareh aap; tarai sansaar |
ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜਗਤ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ,
You shall be redeemed, and through you, the whole world shall be saved,
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿ; ਏਕੰਕਾਰੁ ॥
raam naam jap; ekankaar |
ਜੇਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ।
if you chant the Name of the One and Only Lord.
ਆਪਿ ਕਮਾਉ; ਅਵਰਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ ॥
aap kamaau; avaraa upades |
ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਖੁਦ ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖ-ਮਤ ਦੇ।
Practice this yourself, and teach others;
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ; ਹਿਰਦੈ ਪਰਵੇਸ ॥੩॥
raam naam; hiradai paraves |3|
ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਬਿਠਾ।
instill the Lord's Name in your heart. ||3||
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਾਥੈ; ਏਹੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥
jaa kai maathai; ehu nidhaan |
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਇਸ ਖਜਾਨੇ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਲਿਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ,
That person, who has this treasure upon his forehead
ਸੋਈ ਪੁਰਖੁ; ਜਪੈ ਭਗਵਾਨੁ ॥
soee purakh; japai bhagavaan |
ਉਹ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਸਾਈਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਰਾਧਦਾ ਹੈ।
that person meditates on God.
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ; ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥
aatth pehar; har har gun gaau |
ਸਾਰੀ ਦਿਹਾੜੀ ਹੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰ।
Twenty-four hours a day, chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ; ਹਉ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥੪॥੨੮॥੯੭॥
kahu naanak; hau tis bal jaau |4|28|97|
ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਉਤੋਂ ਘੋਲੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
Says Nanak, I am a sacrifice to Him. ||4||28||97||

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik oankaar satigur prasaad |
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹੈ, ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਜੋ ਪਰਾਇਓ; ਸੋਈ ਅਪਨਾ ॥
jo paraaeo; soee apanaa |
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੀ ਮਲਕੀਅਤ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਿੱਜ ਦਾ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ।
That which belongs to another - he claims as his own.
ਜੋ ਤਜਿ ਛੋਡਨ; ਤਿਸੁ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਰਚਨਾ ॥੧॥
jo taj chhoddan; tis siau man rachanaa |1|
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੁਝ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨੂਆਂ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
That which he must abandon - to that, his mind is attracted. ||1||
ਕਹਹੁ; ਗੁਸਾਈ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਕੇਹ ॥
kahahu; gusaaee mileeai keh |
ਦਸੋਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
Tell me, how can he meet the Lord of the World?
ਜੋ ਬਿਬਰਜਤ; ਤਿਸ ਸਿਉ ਨੇਹ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jo bibarajat; tis siau neh |1| rahaau |
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੁਛ ਮਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
That which is forbidden - with that, he is in love. ||1||Pause||
ਝੂਠੁ ਬਾਤ; ਸਾ ਸਚੁ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਤੀ ॥
jhootth baat; saa sach kar jaatee |
ਕੂੜੀ ਗੱਲ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸੱਚੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
That which is false - he deems as true.
ਸਤਿ ਹੋਵਨੁ; ਮਨਿ ਲਗੈ ਨ. ਰਾਤੀ ॥੨॥
sat hovan; man lagai na. raatee |2|
ਭੋਰਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਦਿਲ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ।
That which is true - his mind is not attached to that at all. ||2||
ਬਾਵੈ ਮਾਰਗੁ; ਟੇਢਾ ਚਲਨਾ ॥
baavai maarag; ttedtaa chalanaa |
ਉਹ ਖਬੇ ਰਾਹੇ ਵਿੰਗਾ ਤੜਿੰਗਾ ਹੋ ਟੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
He takes the crooked path of the unrighteous way;
ਸੀਧਾ ਛੋਡਿ; ਅਪੂਠਾ ਬੁਨਨਾ ॥੩॥
seedhaa chhodd; apootthaa bunanaa |3|
ਸਿੱਧੇ ਸਤੇਲ ਰਸਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ, ਉਹ ਪਿਛੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
leaving the straight and narrow path, he weaves his way backwards. ||3||
ਦੁਹਾ ਸਿਰਿਆ ਕਾ; ਖਸਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
duhaa siriaa kaa; khasam prabh soee |
ਉਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੌਨਾ ਜਹਾਨਾਂ (ਕਿਨਾਰਿਆਂ) ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ।
God is the Lord and Master of both worlds.
ਜਿਸੁ ਮੇਲੇ ਨਾਨਕ; ਸੋ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਹੋਈ ॥੪॥੨੯॥੯੮॥
jis mele naanak; so mukataa hoee |4|29|98|
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
He, whom the Lord unites with Himself, O Nanak, is liberated. ||4||29||98||

ਕਾਲੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਤੀ ਤੇ ਪਤਨੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਲਬੰਧ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
In the Dark Age of Kali Yuga, they come together through destiny.
ਜਿਚਰੁ ਆਗਿਆ; ਤਿਚਰੁ ਭੋਗਹਿ ਭੋਗ ॥੧॥
jichar aagiaa; tichar bhogeh bhog |1|
ਜਦ ਤਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਫੁਰਮਾਨ ਹੈ, ਉਦੋਂ ਤਾਈ ਉਹ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ।
As long as the Lord commands, they enjoy their pleasures. ||1||
ਜਲੈ. ਨ ਪਾਈਐ; ਰਾਮ ਸਨੇਹੀ ॥
jalai. na paaeeai; raam sanehee |
ਸੜ ਜਾਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।
By burning oneself, the Beloved Lord is not obtained.
ਕਿਰਤਿ ਸੰਜੋਗਿ; ਸਤੀ ਉਠਿ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kirat sanjog; satee utth hoee |1| rahaau |
ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਉਠ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੜ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
Only by the actions of destiny does she rise up and burn herself, as a 'satee'. ||1||Pause||
ਦੇਖਾ ਦੇਖੀ; ਮਨਹਠਿ ਜਲਿ ਜਾਈਐ ॥
dekhaa dekhee; manahatth jal jaaeeai |
ਰੀਸੋ ਰੀਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੂਏ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੱਦ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਸੜ ਬਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
Imitating what she sees, with her stubborn mind-set, she goes into the fire.
ਪਿ੍ਰਅ. ਸੰਗੁ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ; ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨਿ ਭਵਾਈਐ ॥੨॥
pria. sang na paavai; bahu jon bhavaaeeai |2|
ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੇਕਾ ਜੂਨੀਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਭਟਕਾਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
She does not obtain the Company of her Beloved Lord, and she wanders through countless incarnations. ||2||
ਸੀਲ ਸੰਜਮਿ; ਪਿ੍ਰਅ ਆਗਿਆ ਮਾਨੈ ॥
seel sanjam; pria aagiaa maanai |
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਪੱਲੇ ਸ਼ਰਾਫਤ ਤੇ ਸਵੈ-ਕਾਬੂ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨਦੀ ਹੈ,
With pure conduct and self-restraint, she surrenders to her Husband Lord's Will;
ਤਿਸੁ ਨਾਰੀ ਕਉ; ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਜਮਾਨੈ ॥੩॥
tis naaree kau; dukh na jamaanai |3|
ਉਹ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋ ਤਕਲੀਫ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਠਾਉਂਦੀ।
that woman shall not suffer pain at the hands of the Messenger of Death. ||3||
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ; ਜਿਨਿ. ਪਿ੍ਰਉ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥
kahu naanak; jin. priau paramesar kar jaaniaa |
ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫੁਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਸ਼ਰੋਮਣੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੰਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਜਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ,
Says Nanak, she who looks upon the Transcendent Lord as her Husband,
ਧੰਨੁ ਸਤੀ; ਦਰਗਹ ਪਰਵਾਨਿਆ ॥੪॥੩੦॥੯੯॥
dhan satee; daragah paravaaniaa |4|30|99|
ਉਹ ਪਾਕ ਦਾਮਨ ਪਤਨੀ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਕਬੂਲ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
is the blessed 'satee'; she is received with honor in the Court of the Lord. ||4||30||99||

ਮੈਂ ਦੋਲਤ-ਮੰਦ ਤੇ ਖੁਸ਼ਕਿਸਮਤ ਹਾਂ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੱਚਾ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
