ਮਾਝ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Maajh, Fifth Mehl:

ਜਹਾਨ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ ਤੇ ਆਲਮ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਧਾਰੀ ਹੈ,

The Life of the World, the Sustainer of the Earth, has showered His Mercy;

ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕਾ ਲਏ ਹਨ।

the Guru's Feet have come to dwell within my mind.

ਉਸ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਪੱਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਦਾ ਅੱਡਾ ਪੁਟ ਸੁਟਿਆ ਹੈ।

The Creator has made me His Own. He has destroyed the city of sorrow. ||1||

ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਹ ਸੱਚਾ ਸਾਈਂ ਵਸਦਾ ਹੈ,

The True One abides within my mind and body;

ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਹ ਸੱਚਾ ਸਾਈਂ ਵਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਦੁਖਦਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਭਾਸਦੀ।

no place seems difficult to me now.

ਸਾਰੇ ਕੁਕਰਮੀ ਤੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਗਹੇ ਹਨ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕੋ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਸੱਧਰ ਹੈ।

All the evil-doers and enemies have now become my friends. I long only for my Lord and Master. ||2||

ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੁਝ ਉਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਖੁਦ-ਬ-ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Whatever He does, He does all by Himself.

ਅਕਲ ਤੇ ਦਾਨਾਈ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕਰਤਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।

No one can know His Ways.

ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਦਾ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਹੈ ਉਸਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਵਹਿਮ ਤੇ ਭੁਲੇਖਾ ਦੁਰ ਕਰ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ।

He Himself is the Helper and Support of His Saints. God has cast out my doubts and delusions. ||3||

ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਵਲ ਪੈਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਫਰ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹਨ।

His Lotus Feet are the Support of His humble servants.

ਦਿਹੂੰ ਰੈਣ ਉਹ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਵਣਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Twenty-four hours a day, they deal in the Name of the Lord.

ਆਰਾਮ ਤੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਹਿਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਮਾਲਕ ਰਮਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ!

In peace and pleasure, they sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe. O Nanak, God is permeating everywhere. ||4||36||43||

ਮਾਝ, ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Maajh, Fifth Mehl:

ਸੰਚਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮਹਿਲ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਚਾ ਸਾਈਂ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

True is that temple, within which one meditates on the True Lord.

ਸੁਭਾਇਮਾਨ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਜਿੰਦੜੀ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਵਾਦ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।

Blessed is that heart, within which the Lord's Glorious Praises are sung.

ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਜ਼ਿਮੀ ਜਿਥੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਗੋਲੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਮੈਂ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਉਤੋਂ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਨੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

Beautiful is that land, where the Lord's humble servants dwell. I am a sacrifice to the True Name. ||1||

ਸੱਚੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲਤਾ ਦਾ ਮੁਲ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।

The extent of the True Lord's Greatness cannot be known.

ਸਾਈਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਤੇ ਬਖਸ਼ਸ਼ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ।

His Creative Power and His Bounties cannot be described.

ਤੇਰੇ ਗੋਲੇ, ਹੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਜੀਊਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸੱਚੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

Your humble servants live by meditating, meditating on You. Their minds treasure the True Word of the Shabad. ||2||

ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਪਰਮ ਚੰਗੇ ਨਸੀਬਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

The Praises of the True One are obtained by great good fortune.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆਲਤਾ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਉਸਤਤੀਆਂ ਗਾਇਨ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

By Guru's Grace, the Glorious Praises of the Lord are sung.

ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਜੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੇ ਲਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਛਾਣੂ ਚਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਹੈ।

Those who are imbued with Your Love are pleasing to You. The True Name is their Banner and Insignia. ||3||

ਸੱਚੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਓੜਕ ਕੋਈ ਜਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ।

No one knows the limits of the True Lord.

ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਰਮਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

In all places and interspaces, the True One is pervading.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰ ਜੋ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਾਣੂ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਕਿਛ ਜਾਨਣਹਾਰ ਹੈ।

O Nanak, meditate forever on the True One, the Searcher of hearts, the Knower of all. ||4||37||44||

ਮਾਝ, ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Maajh, Fifth Mehl:

ਉਹ ਰਾਤ੍ਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਭਾਇਮਾਨ ਦਿਹਾੜਾ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ,

Beautiful is the night, and beautiful is the day,

ਜਦ ਬੰਦਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਤੇ ਸਤਿਸੰਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

when one joins the Society of the Saints and chants the Ambrosial Naam.

ਫਲਦਾਇਕ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਉਥੇ ਜਿਥੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹਿਕ ਛਿਨ, ਲੰਮ੍ਹਾ ਤੇ ਮੁਹਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਜਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

If you remember the Lord in meditation for a moment, even for an instant, then your life will become fruitful and prosperous. ||1||

ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਅਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,

Remembering the Naam, the Name of the Lord, all sinful mistakes are erased.

ਅਤੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਬਾਹਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Inwardly and outwardly, the Lord God is always with us.

ਡਰ, ਤ੍ਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਵਹਿਮ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋ ਦੁਰ ਕਰ ਦਿਤੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

Fear, dread and doubt have been dispelled by the Perfect Guru; now, I see God everywhere. ||2||

ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਾਨ, ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਬੁਲੰਦ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੰਤ ਹੈ।

God is All-powerful, Vast, Lofty and Infinite.

ਨੌ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਤੇ ਕੋਸ਼ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਲਬਾਲਬ ਹਨ।

The Naam is overflowing with the nine treasures.

ਆਰੰਭ, ਅਖੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ, ਉਹ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੈ। ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਾਗੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਾਉਂਦਾ।

In the beginning, in the middle, and in the end, there is God. Nothing else even comes close to Him. ||3||

ਮੇਰੇ ਤੇ ਤਰਸ ਕਰ, ਹੇ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਤੇ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ!

Take pity on me, O my Lord, Merciful to the meek.

ਮੰਗਤਾ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ।

I am a beggar, begging for the dust of the feet of the Holy.

ਨਫਰ ਨਾਨਕ, ਹੇ ਸਾਈਂ! ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਦਾਤ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦੀਵ ਤੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੇ।

Servant Nanak begs for this gift: let me meditate on the Lord, forever and ever. ||4||38||45||

ਮਾਝ, ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Maajh, Fifth Mehl:

ੲੈਥੇ ਤੂੰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਏਦੂੰ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।

You are here, and You are hereafter.

ਸਾਰੇ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਪਸ਼ੂ ਪੰਛੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਅਸਥਾਪਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।

All beings and creatures were created by You.

ਤੇਰੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ, ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ, ਹੇ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਨਾਹ ਹੈਂ।

Without You, there is no other, O Creator. You are my Support and my Protection. ||1||

ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਜੀਭਾ ਜੀਊਦੀ ਹੈ।

The tongue lives by chanting and meditating on the Lord's Name.

ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਾਨਣਹਾਰ ਹੈ।

The Supreme Lord God is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.

ਜੋ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਜੂਏ ਦੀ ਖੇਡ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਰਦਾ।

Those who serve the Lord find peace; they do not lose their lives in the gamble. ||2||

ਤੇਰੇ ਉਪਾਸ਼ਕ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਵਾਈ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ,

Your humble servant, who obtains the Medicine of the Naam,
