Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji

ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।

He is the Giver of all souls.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।

By Guru's Grace, He blesses us with His Glance of Grace.

ਸਮੁੰਦਰ, ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਅਸਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਜੀਵ ਧਰਾਪ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਮੈਂ ਸੰਤ-ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਧੋਦਾਂ ਹਾਂ।

The beings in the water, on the land and in the sky are all satisfied; I wash the Feet of the Holy. ||3||

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਚਿੱਤ ਦੀ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।

He is the Fulfiller of the desires of the mind.

ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਤੇ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

Forever and ever, I am a sacrifice to Him.

ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਦ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਦਾਤ ਦਿਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਤਾ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਹੈ।

O Nanak, the Destroyer of pain has given this Gift; I am imbued with the Love of the Delightful Lord. ||4||32||39||

ਮਾਝ, ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Maajh, Fifth Mehl:

ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਮੇਰੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਭੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੈ।

Mind and body are Yours; all wealth is Yours.

ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਮਾਲਕ ਤੇ ਸਿਰ ਦਾ ਸਾਈਂ ਹੈ।

You are my God, my Lord and Master.

ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਸਮੂਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਤਿਆ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਕ।

Body and soul and all riches are Yours. Yours is the Power, O Lord of the World. ||1||

ਸਦੀਵ ਤੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਲਈ ਤੂੰ ਆਰਾਮ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।

Forever and ever, You are the Giver of Peace.

ਮੈਂ ਨਿਮਸਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਸਦਾ ਨਿਮਸਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੈਰੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

I bow down and fall at Your Feet.

ਜੇਕਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਵੇਂ ਹੇ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਪੁਰਖ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਘਾਲ ਘਾਲਾਂਗਾ।

I act as it pleases You, as You cause me to act, Kind and Compassionate Dear Lord. ||2||

ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਮੈਂ ਕੇਵਲ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋ ਹੀ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਜੇਵਰ ਹੈਂ।

O God, from You I receive; You are my decoration.

ਜੋ ਕੁਛ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਰਾਮ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਸਹਾਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

Whatever You give me, brings me happiness.

ਜਿਥੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਵਰਗ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਰਵਰਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।

Wherever You keep me, is heaven. You are the Cherisher of all. ||3||

ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਤੇ ਅਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

Meditating, meditating in remembrance, Nanak has found peace.

ਦਿਨ ਦੇ ਅਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Twenty-four hours a day, I sing Your Glorious Praises.

ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਕਦਾਚਿੱਤ ਦੁਖੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।

All my hopes and desires are fulfilled; I shall never again suffer sorrow. ||4||33||40||

ਮਾਝ, ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Maajh, Fifth Mehl:

ਉਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੇ ਬੱਦਲ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ।

The Supreme Lord God has unleashed the rain clouds.

ਦਸਾਂ ਹੀ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੀਂਹ ਵਰ੍ਹਾਇਆ ਹੈ।

Over the sea and over the land-over all the earth's surface, in all directions, He has brought the rain.

ਠੰਢ ਚੈਨ ਵਰਤ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਸਾਰੀ ਤੇਹ ਮਿਟ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।

Peace has come, and the thirst of all has been quenched; there is joy and ecstasy everywhere. ||1||

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਆਰਾਮ ਦੇਣਹਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਤਕਲੀਫ ਰਫਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।

He is the Giver of Peace, the Destroyer of pain.

ਉਹ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

He gives and forgives all beings.

ਆਪਣੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਪਾਲਦਾ ਪੋਸਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਗੀ ਡਿਗ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

He Himself nurtures and cherishes His Creation. I fall at His Feet and surrender to Him. ||2||

ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਣਾਗਤ ਸੰਭਾਲਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ,

Seeking His Sanctuary, salvation is obtained.

ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਰ ਸੁਆਸ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ।

With each and every breath, I meditate on the Lord's Name.

ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਹੋਰਸ ਕੋਈ ਦੂਸਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਨਹੀਂ। ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਕੇਵਲ ਉਸੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਹਨ।

Without Him, there is no other Lord and Master. All places belong to Him. ||3||

ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੀ ਇਜ਼ਤ ਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਈਂ! ਮੇਰੀ ਤਾਕਤ।

Yours is the Honor, God, and Yours is the Power.

ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ, ਵਡਿਆਈਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ।

You are the True Lord and Master, the Ocean of Excellence.

ਨਫਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਦਿਨ ਦੇ ਅਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਅਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

Servant Nanak utters this prayer: may I meditate on You twenty-four hours a day. ||4||34||41||

ਮਾਝ, ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Maajh, Fifth Mehl:

ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਆਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਜਦ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪਰਮ-ਪਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

All happiness comes, when God is pleased.

ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਸਦੇ ਹਨ।

The Feet of the Perfect Guru dwell in my mind.

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਅਫੁਰ ਤਾੜੀ ਲੱਗ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਅਨੰਦ ਮਾਨਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।

I am intuitively absorbed in the state of Samaadhi deep within. God alone knows this sweet pleasure. ||1||

ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੇ ਗਿਆਤ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ।

My Lord and Master is Inaccessible and Unfathomable.

ਉਹ ਹਰ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Deep within each and every heart, He dwells near and close at hand.

ਉਹ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਕੋਈ ਟਾਂਵਾਂ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ।

He is always detached; He is the Giver of souls. How rare is that person who understands his own self. ||2||

ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਲੱਛਣ ਹੈ।

This is the sign of union with God:

ਇਨਸਾਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਕੇਵਲ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਫੁਰਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਿੰਞਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।

in the mind, the Command of the True Lord is recognized.

ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਟੁਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹਿਨਸਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਆਰਾਮ, ਸੰਤੁਸ਼ਟਤਾ, ਚੱਜ ਅਤੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

Intuitive peace and poise, contentment, enduring satisfaction and bliss come through the Pleasure of the Master's Will. ||3||

ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ।

God, the Great Giver, has given me His Hand.

ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਜੰਮਣ ਤੇ ਮਰਣ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿਤੇ ਹਨ।

He has erased all the sickness of birth and death.

ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੋਲੇ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਭੋਗਦੇ ਹਨ।

O Nanak, those whom God has made His slaves, rejoice in the pleasure of singing the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises. ||4||35||42||
