ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਪੀਵਤੇ. ਸਦਾ ਥਿਰੁ ਥੀਵਤੇ; ਬਿਖੈ ਬਨੁ ਫੀਕਾ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥
amrit har peevate. sadaa thir theevate; bikhai ban feekaa jaaniaa |
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਆਬਿ-ਹਿਯਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਛਕਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਸਥਿਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਫਿਕਲਾ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ।
They drink in the Lord's Ambrosial Nectar, and become eternally stable. They know that the water of corruption is insipid and tasteless.
ਭਏ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ; ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਿਧਿ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥

ਜਦ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ-ਪੋਸਣਹਾਰ, ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਤਸਲੀਮ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਤਿਸੰਗਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਨੌ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਹਨ।
When my God, the Lord of the Universe became merciful, I came to look upon the Saadh Sangat as the treasure.
ਸਰਬਸੋ ਸੂਖ. ਆਨੰਦ ਘਨ ਪਿਆਰੇ; ਹਰਿ ਰਤਨੁ. ਮਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸੀਵਤੇ ॥

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ! ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਤਹਕਰਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਹੀਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਊ ਲੇਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
All pleasures and supreme ecstasy, O my Beloved, come to those who sew the Jewel of the Lord into their minds.
ਇਕੁ ਤਿਲੁ. ਨਹੀ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਆਧਾਰਾ; ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਨਕ. ਜੀਵਤੇ ॥੩॥

ਇਕ ਮੁਹਤ ਭਰ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਉਹ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਜੀਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹੈ ਨਾਨਕ!
They do not forget, even for an instant, the Support of the breath of life. They live by constantly meditating on Him, O Nanak. ||3||

ਜੋ ਤਉ ਕੀਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ; ਤਿਨਾ ਕੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਓਹਿ ॥

ਤੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿੱਜ ਦੇ ਬਣਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ!
O Lord, You meet and merge with those whom you have made Your Own.
ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਆਪਿ ਮੋਹਿਓਹੁ; ਜਸੁ ਨਾਨਕ. ਆਪਿ ਸੁਣਿਓਹਿ ॥੧॥

ਆਪਣੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਸਰਵਣ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹੈ ਨਾਨਕ! ਤੂੰ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਫ਼ਰੇਫ਼ਤਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
You Yourself are entranced, O Nanak, hearing Your Own Praises. ||1||

ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੀ ਨਸ਼ੀਲੀ ਬੂਟੀ ਵਰਤ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹਿਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
Administering the intoxicating drug of love, I have won over the Lord of the Universe; I have fascinated His Mind.
ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ; ਅਗਾਧਿ ਕੰਠੇ ਲਗਿ. ਸੋਹਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥
santan kai parasaad; agaadh kantthe lag. sohiaa jeeo |
ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਅਥਾਹ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੀ ਛਾਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਭਾਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
By the Grace of the Saints, I am held in the loving embrace of the Unfathomable Lord, and I am entranced.
ਹਰਿ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਗਿ ਸੋਹਿਆ. ਦੋਖ ਸਭਿ ਜੋਹਿਆ; ਭਗਤਿ ਲਖੵਣ ਕਰਿ. ਵਸਿ ਭਏ ॥
har kantth lag sohiaa. dokh sabh johiaa; bhagat lakhayan kar. vas bhe |
ਮੈਂ ਵਾਹਿਗਰੂ ਦੀ ਗਲਵੱਕੜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਹਣਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁਖੜੇ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਅਨੁਰਾਗੀ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਾਈਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਅਖਤਿਆਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
Held in the Lord's loving embrace, I look beautiful, and all my pains have been dispelled. By the loving worship of His devotees, the Lord has come under their power.
ਮਨਿ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਵੁਠੇ ਗੋਵਿਦ ਤੁਠੇ; ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣਾ ਸਭਿ ਮਿਟਿ ਗਏ ॥
man sarab sukh vutthe govid tutthe; janam maranaa sabh mitt ge |
ਜਦ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਸਾਰੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਟਿਕੇ ਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਜੰਮਣਾ ਤੇ ਮਰਣਾ ਸਭ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਿਆ।
All pleasures have come to dwell in the mind; the Lord of the Universe is pleased and appeased. Birth and death have been totally eliminated.
ਸਖੀ ਮੰਗਲੋ ਗਾਇਆ. ਇਛ ਪੁਜਾਇਆ; ਬਹੁੜਿ. ਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਹੋਹਿਆ ॥
sakhee mangalo gaaeaa. ichh pujaaeaa; bahurr. na maaeaa hohiaa |
ਮੇਰੀਓ ਸਹੇਲੀਓ! ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰੋ। ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਖ਼ਾਹਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਮੋਹਣੀ ਦੇ ਹਚਕੋਲੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਣਗੇ।
O my companions, sing the Songs of Joy. My desires have been fulfilled, and I shall never again be trapped or shaken by Maya.
ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਨੇ. ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਿਆਰੇ; ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਪੋਹਿਆ ॥੪॥
kar geh leene. naanak prabh piaare; sansaar saagar nahee pohiaa |4|
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੇ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮੇਰਾ ਹੱਥ ਫੜ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੁਣ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੋਹਦਾ।
Taking hold of my hand, O Nanak, my Beloved God will not let me be swallowed up by the world-ocean. ||4||

ਸਾਈ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਮੋਲੁ; ਕੀਮ. ਨ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਣਦੋ ॥

ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਣਮੁੱਲਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ।
The Master's Name is Priceless; no one knows its value.
ਜਿਨਾ ਭਾਗ ਮਥਾਹਿ; ਸੇ ਨਾਨਕ. ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਾਣਦੋ ॥੧॥
jinaa bhaag mathaeh; se naanak. har rang maanado |1|
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਕਰਮ ਉਕਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪਰੀਤ ਦਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who have good destiny recorded upon their foreheads, O Nanak, enjoy the Love of the Lord. ||1||

ਕਹਤੇ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ. ਸੁਣਤੇ ਸਭਿ ਧੰਨੁ; ਲਿਖਤਂੀ ਕੁਲੁ ਤਾਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥
kahate pavitr. sunate sabh dhan; likhatanee kul taariaa jeeo |
ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਾਵਨ ਤੇ ਸਰੋਤੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ-ਯੋਗ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਲਿਖਾਰੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਵੰਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who chant are sanctified. All those who listen are blessed, and those who write save their ancestors.
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗੁ. ਨਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ; ਤਿਨੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥
jin kau saadhoo sang. naam har rang; tinee braham beechaariaa jeeo |
ਜੋ ਸਤਿਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਜੁੜਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੁ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who join the Saadh Sangat are imbued with the Lord's Love; they reflect and meditate on God.
ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਆ. ਜਨਮੁ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ; ਪੂਰਨ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਰੀ ॥

ਉਹ ਸਿਰਜਨਹਾਰ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾ ਉਤੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਪੂਰੀ ਦਇਆਲਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
Contemplating God, their lives are reformed and redeemed; God has showered His Perfect Mercy upon them.
ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਨੇ. ਹਰਿ ਜਸੋ ਦੀਨੇ; ਜੋਨਿ ਨਾ ਧਾਵੈ, ਨਹ ਮਰੀ ॥

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਪਕੜ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਜੂਨੀਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੌੜਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Taking them by the hand, the Lord has blessed them with His Praises. They no longer have to wander in reincarnation, and they never have to die.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦਇਆਲ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਭੇਟਤ ਹਰੇ; ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਮਾਰਿਆ ॥
satigur deaal kirapaal bhettat hare; kaam krodh lobh maariaa |
ਮਇਆਵਾਨ ਤੇ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮੈਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਭੋਗ, ਗੁੱਸੇ ਤੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
Through the Kind and Compassionate True Guru, I have met the Lord; I have conquered sexual desire, anger and greed.
ਕਥਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ. ਅਕਥੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ; ਸਦਕੈ ਜਾਇ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵਾਰਿਆ ॥੫॥੧॥੩॥

ਅਕਹਿ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਨਾਨਕ ਉਸ ਉਤੋਂ ਘੋਲੀ ਤੇ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Our Indescribable Lord and Master cannot be described. Nanak is devoted, forever a sacrifice to Him. ||5||1||3||

ੴ ਸਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ। ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
One Universal Creator God. Truth Is The Name. By Guru's Grace:
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਤਮੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ; ਜਿਨਿ ਸਿਰਿਆ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
har har utam naam hai; jin siriaa sabh koe jeeo |
ਉਤਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਤ ਹੈ ਨਾਮ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਜਿਆਂ ਹੈ।
The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is Excellent and Sublime. He created everyone.
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਅ ਸਭੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਦਾ; ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਮਈਆ ਸੋਇ ॥
har jeea sabhe pratipaaladaa; ghatt ghatt rameea soe |
ਪੂਜਯ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ-ਪੋਸਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਰ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਹ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੈ।
The Lord cherishes all beings. He permeates each and every heart.
ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਈਐ; ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ. ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
so har sadaa dhiaaeeai; tis bin. avar na koe |
ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ।
Meditate forever on that Lord. Without Him, there is no other at all.
ਜੋ ਮੋਹਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਦੇ; ਸੇ ਛੋਡਿ ਚਲੇ. ਦੁਖੁ ਰੋਇ ॥
jo mohi maaeaa chit laaeide; se chhodd chale. dukh roe |
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹਣੀ ਦੀ ਮੁਹੱਬਤ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਤਕਲੀਫ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਿਰਲਾਪ ਕਰਦੇ ਟੁਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who focus their consciousness on emotional attachment to Maya must leave; they depart crying out in despair.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ. ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ; ਹਰਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਸਖਾਈ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥
jan naanak. naam dhiaaeaa; har ant sakhaaee hoe |1|
ਨੌਕਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਅਰਾਧਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਅਖੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
Servant Nanak meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, his only Companion in the end. ||1||
ਮੈ. ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ; ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਣਾਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਲੱਭਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਬੇਲੀਆਂ! ਪ੍ਰਮ ਚੰਗੇ ਨਸੀਬਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
In the Guru's Sanctuary, the Lord is found, O my merchant friend; by great good fortune, He is obtained. ||1||Pause||
