ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਕਰੈ; ਧੰਨੁ ਸਵਾਰਣਹਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
tin kee sevaa dharam raae karai; dhan savaaranahaar |2|
ਧਰਮ-ਰਾਜਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੁਬਹਾਨ ਹੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰਣ ਵਾਲਾ।
The Righteous Judge of Dharma serves them; blessed is the Lord who adorns them. ||2||
ਮਨ ਕੇ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਮਨਹਿ ਤਜੈ; ਮਨਿ ਚੂਕੈ ਮੋਹੁ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥
man ke bikaar maneh tajai; man chookai mohu abhimaan |
ਜੇਕਰ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਖਤਮ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਤੇ ਸਵੈ-ਹੰਗਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇ,
One who eliminates mental wickedness from within the mind, and casts out emotional attachment and egotistical pride,
ਆਤਮ ਰਾਮੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ; ਸਹਜੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਨੁ ॥
aatam raam pachhaaniaa; sahaje naam samaan |
ਤਦ ਉਹ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਰੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੰਞਾਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਖੈਨ ਹੀ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
comes to recognize the All-pervading Soul, and is intuitively absorbed into the Naam.
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ. ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ; ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਫਿਰੈ ਦਿਵਾਨੁ ॥

ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਅਧਰਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਖਸ਼ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਝੱਲੇ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਭਰਮਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Without the True Guru, the self-willed manmukhs do not find liberation; they wander around like lunatics.
ਸਬਦੁ ਨ ਚੀਨੈ. ਕਥਨੀ ਬਦਨੀ ਕਰੇ; ਬਿਖਿਆ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਨੁ ॥੩॥
sabad na cheenai. kathanee badanee kare; bikhiaa maeh samaan |3|
ਉਹ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਮੂੰਹ-ਜ਼ਬਾਨੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਗਲਤਾਨ ਹੈ।
They do not contemplate the Shabad; engrossed in corruption, they utter only empty words. ||3||
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਹੈ; ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
sabh kichh aape aap hai; doojaa avar na koe |
ਹਰ ਸ਼ੈ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਹੈ। ਹੋਰ ਦੂਸਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ।
He Himself is everything; there is no other at all.
ਜਿਉ ਬੋਲਾਏ ਤਿਉ ਬੋਲੀਐ; ਜਾ ਆਪਿ ਬੁਲਾਏ ਸੋਇ ॥
jiau bolaae tiau boleeai; jaa aap bulaae soe |
ਜਦ ਉਹ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਖੁਦ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
I speak just as He makes me speak, when He Himself makes me speak.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬਾਣੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਹੈ; ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
guramukh baanee braham hai; sabad milaavaa hoe |
ਮੁੱਖੀ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਲਾਮ ਖੁਦ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹੀ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਦਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Word of the Gurmukh is God Himself. Through the Shabad, we merge in Him.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲਿ ਤੂ; ਜਿਤੁ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥੩੦॥੬੩॥

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਤੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।
O Nanak, remember the Naam; serving Him, peace is obtained. ||4||30||63||

Siree Raag, Third Mehl:
ਜਗਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਮੈਲੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ; ਮਲੁ ਲਾਗੀ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ॥
jag haumai mail dukh paaeaa; mal laagee doojai bhaae |
ਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਗਿਲਾਜ਼ਤ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਬੜ ਜਾਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਤਕਲੀਫ ਉਠਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਇਹ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਲਗਦੀ ਹੈ।
The world is polluted with the filth of egotism, suffering in pain. This filth sticks to them because of their love of duality.
ਮਲੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਧੋਤੀ. ਕਿਵੈ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ; ਜੇ ਸਉ ਤੀਰਥ ਨਾਇ ॥

ਕਿਸੇ ਜ਼ਰੀਏ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਹੰਗਤਾ ਦੀ ਗੰਦਗੀ ਧੋਣ ਨਾਲ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਆਦਮੀ ਸੈਕੜੇ ਯਾਤ੍ਰਾ ਅਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਪਿਆ ਕਰੇ।
This filth of egotism cannot be washed away, even by taking cleansing baths at hundreds of sacred shrines.
ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵਦੇ; ਦੂਣੀ ਮਲੁ ਲਾਗੀ ਆਇ ॥
bahu bidh karam kamaavade; doonee mal laagee aae |
ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਮ-ਕਾਂਡ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਸਗੋਂ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਗਣੀ ਮੈਲ ਚਿਮੜਦੀ ਹੈ।
Performing all sorts of rituals, people are smeared with twice as much filth.
ਪੜਿਐ. ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ; ਪੂਛਹੁ ਗਿਆਨੀਆ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥

ਇਲਮ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮਲੀਨਤਾ ਕੱਟੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ। ਜਾਂ ਕੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ-ਵੇਤਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਕਰ ਲਓ।
This filth is not removed by studying. Go ahead, and ask the wise ones. ||1||
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ; ਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਿ ਆਵੈ, ਤਾ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
man mere; gur saran aavai, taa niramal hoe |
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਜੇਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਣਾਗਤ ਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਦ ਤੂੰ ਮਲ-ਰਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਏਗੀ।
O my mind, coming to the Sanctuary of the Guru, you shall become immaculate and pure.
ਮਨਮੁਖ. ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਥਕੇ; ਮੈਲੁ. ਨ ਸਕੀ ਧੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕੂਲ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੰਭ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਪਰੰਤੂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਧੋਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕੀ।
The self-willed manmukhs have grown weary of chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, but their filth cannot be removed. ||1||Pause||
ਮਨਿ ਮੈਲੈ. ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ; ਨਾਮੁ. ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
man mailai. bhagat na hovee; naam. na paaeaa jaae |
ਮਲੀਨ-ਆਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਤੇ ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
With a polluted mind, devotional service cannot be performed, and the Naam, the Name of the Lord, cannot be obtained.
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਮੈਲੇ. ਮੈਲੇ ਮੁਏ; ਜਾਸਨਿ ਪਤਿ ਗਵਾਇ ॥

ਆਪ-ਹੁਦਰੇ ਗੰਦੇ ਜੀਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਗੰਦੇ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਇਜ਼ਤ ਗੁਆ ਕੇ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The filthy, self-willed manmukhs die in filth, and they depart in disgrace.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ; ਮਲੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਜਾਇ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
gur parasaadee man vasai; mal haumai jaae samaae |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਮਲੀਨਤਾ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੇ।
By Guru's Grace, the Lord comes to abide in the mind, and the filth of egotism is dispelled.
ਜਿਉ. ਅੰਧੇਰੈ ਦੀਪਕੁ ਬਾਲੀਐ; ਤਿਉ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨਿ. ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਤਜਾਇ ॥੨॥

ਜਿਵੇਂ ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੀਵਾ ਜਗਾਉਣ ਨਾਲ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ-ਬੋਧ, ਆਤਮਕ-ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Like a lamp lit in the darkness, the spiritual wisdom of the Guru dispels ignorance. ||2||
ਹਮ ਕੀਆ ਹਮ ਕਰਹਗੇ; ਹਮ ਮੂਰਖ ਗਾਵਾਰ ॥
ham keea ham karahage; ham moorakh gaavaar |
ਮੈਂ ਬੁੱਧੂ ਬੇਵਕੂਫ ਹਾਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ: ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਮੈਂ ਅੋਹ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
"I have done this, and I will do that" - I am an idiotic fool for saying this!
ਕਰਣੈ ਵਾਲਾ ਵਿਸਰਿਆ; ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
karanai vaalaa visariaa; doojai bhaae piaar |
ਮੈਂ ਅਸਲੀ ਕਰਣਹਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਲ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦਵੈਤ-ਭਾਵ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ।
I have forgotten the Doer of all; I am caught in the love of duality.
ਮਾਇਆ ਜੇਵਡੁ. ਦੁਖੁ ਨਹੀ; ਸਭਿ ਭਵਿ ਥਕੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
maaeaa jevadd. dukh nahee; sabh bhav thake sansaar |
ਕੋਈ ਪੀੜ ਭੀ ਐਡੀ-ਵੱਡੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਜਿੰਨੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਲਗਨ ਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਹਾਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਟੱਕਰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਹਾਰ-ਹੁਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
There is no pain as great as the pain of Maya; it drives people to wander all around the world, until they become exhausted.
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ; ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ॥੩॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੱਚੇ-ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Through the Guru's Teachings, peace is found, with the True Name enshrined in the heart. ||3||
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਮੇਲੇ. ਸੋ ਮਿਲੈ; ਹਉ. ਤਿਸੁ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ॥
jis no mele. so milai; hau. tis balihaarai jaau |
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਐਸੇ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
I am a sacrifice to those who meet and merge with the Lord.
ਏ ਮਨ ਭਗਤੀ ਰਤਿਆ; ਸਚੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਨਿਜ ਥਾਉ ॥
e man bhagatee ratiaa; sach baanee nij thaau |
ਜਦ ਇਹ ਆਤਮਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ-ਦੇ-ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਸੱਚੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
This mind is attuned to devotional worship; through the True Word of Gurbani, it finds its own home.
ਮਨਿ ਰਤੇ ਜਿਹਵਾ ਰਤੀ; ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਸਚੇ ਗਾਉ ॥
man rate jihavaa ratee; har gun sache gaau |
ਤੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਰੰਗੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਰੰਗੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਸਨਾ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ, ਜੇਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰੇ।
With the mind so imbued, and the tongue imbued as well, sing the Glorious Praises of the True Lord.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਵੀਸਰੈ; ਸਚੇ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਉ ॥੪॥੩੧॥੬੪॥

ਨਾਨਕ, ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਂ ਭੁਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾ।
O Nanak, never forget the Naam; immerse yourself in the True One. ||4||31||64||

mai man tan birahu at agalaa; kiau. preetam milai ghar aae |
ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਇਕ ਨਿਹਾਇਤ ਹੀ ਘਣਾ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਹੈ। ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਆ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ?
Within my mind and body is the intense pain of separation; how can my Beloved come to meet me in my home?
ਜਾ ਦੇਖਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਣਾ; ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਦੇਖਿਐ. ਦੁਖੁ ਜਾਇ ॥
jaa dekhaa prabh aapanaa; prabh dekhiai. dukh jaae |
ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦੀ ਹਾਂ, ਸਾਈਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਤਕਲੀਫ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
When I see my God, seeing God Himself, my pain is taken away.
ਜਾਇ ਪੁਛਾ ਤਿਨ ਸਜਣਾ; ਪ੍ਰਭੁ. ਕਿਤੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੧॥
jaae puchhaa tin sajanaa; prabh. kit bidh milai milaae |1|
ਮੈਂ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਿੱਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕਿਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਤੇ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ?
I go and ask my friends, "How can I meet and merge with God?" ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾ; ਮੈ. ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ. ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਜੀ! ਤੇਰੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੋਰ-ਕਈ ਨਹੀਂ।
O my True Guru, without You I have no other at all.
ਹਮ ਮੂਰਖ ਮੁਗਧ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ; ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੇਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਮੈਂ ਬੇਵਕੂਫ ਤੇ ਬੇ-ਸਮਝ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸ਼ਰਣ ਸੰਭਾਲੀ ਹੈ। ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਤਰਸ ਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਦੇ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
I am foolish and ignorant; I seek Your Sanctuary. Please be Merciful and unite me with the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ. ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਕਾ; ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਸੋਇ ॥
satigur daataa. har naam kaa; prabh aap milaavai soe |
ਸੱਚਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਹੈ। ਖ਼ੁਦ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The True Guru is the Giver of the Name of the Lord. God Himself causes us to meet Him.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਬੁਝਿਆ; ਗੁਰ ਜੇਵਡੁ. ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
satigur har prabh bujhiaa; gur jevadd. avar na koe |
ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ-ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ।
The True Guru understands the Lord God. There is no other as Great as the Guru.
ਹਉ. ਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਢਹਿ ਪਵਾ; ਕਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਮੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥੨॥
hau. gur saranaaee dteh pavaa; kar deaa mele prabh soe |2|
ਮੈਂ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿੱਗ ਪੈਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਆਪਣੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਸਦਕਾ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਸਾਈਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
I have come and collapsed in the Guru's Sanctuary. In His Kindness, He has united me with God. ||2||
ਮਨਹਠਿ. ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ; ਕਰਿ ਉਪਾਵ. ਥਕੇ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਇ ॥
manahatth. kinai na paaeaa; kar upaav. thake sabh koe |
ਚਿੱਤ ਦੀ ਜਿੱਦ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ। ਸਾਰੇ ਜਣੇ ਉਪਰਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਹਾਰ-ਟੁਟ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
No one has found Him by stubborn-mindedness. All have grown weary of the effort.
