ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁਖੜੇ ਮੁਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

all suffering comes to an end. ||2||

ਇਕ ਸਾਈਂ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਊਮੇਦ, ਇੱਜ਼ਤ, ਜ਼ੋਰ ਅਤੇ ਦੌਲਤ ਹੈ।

The One Lord is my hope, honor, power and wealth.

ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਾਹੂਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।

Within my mind is the Support of the True Banker. ||3||

ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਇਕ ਪਰਮ ਗਰੀਬੜਾ ਤੇ ਮਿੱਤ੍ਰ-ਬਿਹੁਨ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਹਾਂ।

I am the poorest and most helpless servant of the Holy.

ਪਰ, ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਆਪਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਹੈ ਨਾਨਕ!

O Nanak, giving me His Hand, God has protected me. ||4||85||154||

ਗਊੜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀ।

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ।

Taking my cleansing bath in the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, I have been purified.

ਭਾਰਾ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਸਿਲਾ, ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾ ਗ੍ਰਹਿਣਾ ਉਤੇ ਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲੋ ਵੀ ਜਿਅਦਾ ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Its reward surpasses the giving of charity at millions of solar eclipses. ||1||Pause||

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਅੰਤਹਕਰਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ,

With the Lord's Feet abiding in the heart,

ਅਨੇਕਾ ਪੈਦਾਇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੌੜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

the sinful mistakes of countless incarnations are removed. ||1||

ਸਤਿਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਇਨਾਮ ਇਕਰਾਮ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ,

I have obtained the reward of the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.

ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਨਿਗ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਦਾ।

I no longer have to gaze upon the way of death. ||2||

ਹੈ ਬੰਦੇ! ਆਪਦੇ ਖਿਆਲ, ਬਚਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਸੰਭਾਲ

In thought, word and deed, seek the Support of the Lord of the Universe;

ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਜਹਿਰੀਲੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਖਲਾਸੀ ਪਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

thus you shall be saved from the poisonous world-ocean. ||3||

ਆਪਣੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਿੱਜ ਦਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।

Granting His Grace, God has made me His Own.

ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਿਮਰਨ-ਯੋਗ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Nanak chants and meditates on the Chant of the Lord's Name. ||4||86||155||

ਗਊੜੀ ਪਾਤiਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀ।

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਲੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

Seek the Sanctuary of those who have come to know the Lord.

ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਠੰਢੇ ਠਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੇਕਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ।

Your mind and body shall become cool and peaceful, imbued with the Feet of the Lord. ||1||

ਡਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨਹਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਟਿਕਾਉਂਦਾ,

If God, the Destroyer of fear, does not dwell within your mind,

ਤ੍ਰਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਭੈ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇਰੇ ਅਨੇਕਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

you shall spend countless incarnations in fear and dread. ||1||Pause||

ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਰਖਦਾ ਹੈ,

Those who have the Lord's Name dwelling within their hearts

ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਤੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

have all their desires and tasks fulfilled. ||2||

ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਅਖਤਿਆਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ, ਪੈਦਾਇਸ਼ ਬੁਢੇਪਾ ਤੇ ਮੌਤ,

Birth, old age and death are in His Power,

ਉਸ ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਾਨ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਰ ਸੁਆਸ ਅਤੇ ਬੁਰਕੀ ਨਾਲ ਯਾਦ ਯਾਦ ਕਰ।

so remember that All-powerful Lord with each breath and morsel of food. ||3||

ਇਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਯਾਰ, ਦੌਸਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਹੈ।

The One God is my Intimate, Best Friend and Companion.

ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।

The Naam, the Name of my Lord and Master, is Nanak's only Support. ||4||87||156||

ਗਊੜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀ।

ਬਾਹਰਵਾਰ (ਸਾਧੂ) ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਗਹੁ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕਾਈ ਰਖਦੇ ਹਨ।

When they are out and about, they keep Him enshrined in their hearts;

ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਥ ਲਈ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

returning home, the Lord of the Universe is still with them. ||1||

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੰਗੀ ਹੈ।

The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is the Companion of His Saints.

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Their minds and bodies are imbued with the Love of the Lord. ||1||Pause||

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸੰਮੁਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,

By Guru's Grace, one crosses over the world-ocean;

ਅਤੇ ਅਨੇਕਾ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਪਾਪ ਧੋਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

the sinful mistakes of countless incarnations are all washed away. ||2||

ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇੱਜਤ ਆਬਰੂ ਅਤੇ ਈਸ਼ਵਰੀ ਗਿਆਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

Honor and intuitive awareness are acquired through the Name of the Lord God.

ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼।

The Teachings of the Perfect Guru are immaculate and pure. ||3||

ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਵਲ ਰੂਪੀ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ।

Within your heart, meditate on the His Lotus Feet.

ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਤਪਤੇਜ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਜੀਊਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Nanak lives by beholding the Lord's Expansive Power. ||4||88||157||

ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਜਿਥੇ ਉਹ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

Blessed is this place, where the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe are sung.

ਸੁਆਮੀ ਖੁਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਖ ਤੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

God Himself bestows peace and pleasure. ||1||Pause||

ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਉਥੇ ਹੇ ਜਿਥੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।

Misfortune occurs where the Lord is not remembered in meditation.

ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਜਿਕੇ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾਂ ਆਲਾਪੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

There are millions of joys where the Glorious Praises of the Lord are sung. ||1||

ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤੀਆਂ ਤਕਲੀਫਾਂ ਤੇ ਬੀਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਆ ਚਿਮੜਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

Forgetting the Lord, all sorts of pains and diseases come.

ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤ ਨਾਲ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਦੂਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁਕਦਾ।

Serving God, the Messenger of Death will not even approach you. ||2||

ਭਾਰੇ ਨਸੀਬਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਸਥਿਰ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ,

Very blessed, stable and sublime is that place,

ਜਿਥੇ ਸਿਰਫ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

where the Name of God alone is chanted. ||3||

ਜਿਥੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ ਮੈਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਥੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਥ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Wherever I go, my Lord and Master is with me.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਾਨਣਹਾਰ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ।

Nanak has met the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||4||89||158||

ਗਊੜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀ।

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਜਿਹੜਾ ਜੀਵ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਰਖਿਅਕ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,

That mortal who meditates on the Lord of the Universe,

ਉਹ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਇਲਮਦਾਰ ਹੋਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਅਨ-ਪੜ੍ਹ ਮਹਾਨ ਮਰਤਬੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

whether educated or uneducated, obtains the state of supreme dignity. ||1||

ਸਤਿ ਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਤੂੰ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਨ-ਪੋਸ਼ਣਹਾਰ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰ।

In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, meditate on the Lord of the World.

ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਦੌਲਤ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਇਦਾਦ ਕੂੜੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Without the Name, wealth and property are false. ||1||Pause||
