ਗਊੜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ।

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਤੂੰ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਖ।

Keep the Word of the Guru's Shabad in your mind.

ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਰਾ iਫ਼ਕਰ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Meditating in remembrance on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, all anxiety is removed. ||1||

ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੇ ਬਗ਼ੈਰ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਦੂਸਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ।

Without the Lord God, there is no one else at all.

ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹੀ ਰਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਤੇ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

He alone preserves and destroys. ||1||Pause||

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕਾ।

Enshrine the Guru's Feet in your heart.

ਅੱਗ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪਾਰ ਕਰ ਲਵੇਗਾ।

Meditate on Him and cross over the ocean of fire. ||2||

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰੂਪ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਜੋੜ।

Focus your meditation on the Guru's Sublime Form.

ਐਥੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਥੇ ਤੂੰ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰੇਗਾ।

Here and hereafter, you shall be honored. ||3||

ਸਮੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਣਾਗਤ ਸੰਭਾਲੀ ਹੈ।

Renouncing everything, I have come to the Guru's Sanctuary.

ਉਸ ਦੇ iਫ਼ਕਰ ਮੁਕ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਰਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

My anxieties are over - O Nanak, I have found peace. ||4||61||130||

ਗਊੜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ।

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਜੀਹਦੇ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਪੀੜਾ ਮੁਕ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

Remembering Him in meditation, all pains are gone.

ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜਵੇਹਰ ਆ ਕੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

The jewel of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, comes to dwell in the mind. ||1||

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ! ਤੂੰ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰ।

O my mind, chant the Bani, the Hymns of the Lord of the Universe.

ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਜੀਭਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਹਿਤ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਬਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

The Holy People chant the Lord's Name with their tongues. ||1||Pause||

ਇਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੌਂ ਕੋਈ ਦੂਸਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ।

Without the One Lord, there is no other at all.

ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਆਰਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

By His Glance of Grace, eternal peace is obtained. ||2||

ਅਦੁੱਤੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਨਾ ਦੋਸਤ ਯਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਬਣਾ।

Make the One Lord your friend, intimate and companion.

ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਉਕਰ ਲੈ।

Write in your mind the Word of the Lord, Har, Har. ||3||

ਸਾਹਿਬ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

The Lord Master is totally pervading everywhere.

ਨਾਨਕ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਾਨਣਹਾਰ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Nanak sings the Praises of the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||4||62||131||

ਗਊੜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ।

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਡਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਹਾਨ ਖੱਚਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

The whole world is engrossed in fear.

ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ।

Those who have the Naam, the Name of the Lord, as their Support, feel no fear. ||1||

ਡਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਿਮੜਦਾ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਹੇਠਾ ਹੈ, (ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ)।

Fear does not affect those who take to Your Sanctuary.

ਤੂੰ ਓਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

You do whatever You please. ||1||Pause||

ਗ਼ਮੀ ਤੇ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

In pleasure and in pain, the world is coming and going in reincarnation.

ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੇ ਲਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Those who are pleasing to God, find peace. ||2||

ਮੋਹਨੀ ਇਸ ਮਹਾਨ ਅੱਗ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।

Maya pervades the awesome ocean of fire.

ਸ਼ਾਤ ਤੇ ਠੰਡੇ ਠਾਰ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੱਚਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।

Those who have found the True Guru are calm and cool. ||3||

ਹੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ, ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਮੇਰੀ ਰਖਿਆ ਕਰ।

Please preserve me, O God, O Great Preserver!

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਇਕ ਨਿਰਬਲ ਜੀਵ ਹਾਂ।

Says Nanak, what a helpless creature I am! ||4||63||132||

ਤੇਰੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹੇ ਸਾਈਂ! ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

By Your Grace, I chant Your Name.

ਤੇਰੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਥਾਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

By Your Grace, I obtain a seat in Your Court. ||1||

ਤੇਰੇ ਬਗ਼ੈਰ ਹੇ ਸ਼ਰੋਮਣੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ! ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ।

Without You, O Supreme Lord God, there is no one.

ਤੇਰੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

By Your Grace, everlasting peace is obtained. ||1||Pause||

ਜੇਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਵੇ, ਤਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਿਮੜਦੀ।

If You abide in the mind, we do not suffer in sorrow.

ਤੇਰੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਸਦਕਾ, ਸੰਦੇਹ ਅਤੇ ਡਰ ਦੌੜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

By Your Grace, doubt and fear run away. ||2||

ਤੂੰ ਹੇ ਹੱਦਬੰਨਾ-ਰਹਿਤ ਉੱਚੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ!

O Supreme Lord God, Infinite Lord and Master,

ਮਾਲਕ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਜਾਨਣਹਾਰ ਹੈ।

You are the Inner-knower, the Searcher of all hearts. ||3||

ਮੈਂ ਨਾਨਕ, ਆਪਣੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਅਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ,

I offer this prayer to the True Guru:

ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਏ।

O Nanak, may I be blessed with the treasure of the True Name. ||4||64||133||

ਗਊੜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ!

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਨਾਜ ਦੇ ਬਗ਼ੈਰ ਤੂੜੀ ਖ਼ਾਲੀ ਹੈ,

As the husk is empty without the grain,

ਏਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਖ਼ਾਲੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮੂੰਹ ਜੋ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਗ਼ੈਰ ਹੈ।

so is the mouth empty without the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||

ਹੇ ਫ਼ਾਨੀ ਬੁੰਦੇ, ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰ!

O mortal, chant continually the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.

ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਬਗ਼ੈਰ ਲਾਨ੍ਹਤ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਸਰੀਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ (ਕਾਲ) ਦੀ ਮਲਕੀਅਤ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Without the Naam, cursed is the body, which shall be taken back by Death. ||1||Pause||

ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਚਿਹਰਾ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਰੋਸ਼ਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।

Without the Naam, no one's face shows good fortune.

ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਤ ਦੇ ਬਗ਼ੈਰ ਵਿਆਹੁਤਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਕਿਥੇ ਹੈ?

Without the Husband, where is the marriage? ||2||

ਜੋ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਹੋਰਨਾ ਰਸਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ,

Forgetting the Naam, and attached to other tastes,

ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਖ਼ਾਹਿਸ਼ ਪੂਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।

no desires are fulfilled. ||3||

ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਆਪਣੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਧਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ ਪਰਦਾਨ ਕਰ,

O God, grant Your Grace, and give me this gift.

ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਤਾਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰੇ।

Please, let Nanak chant Your Name, day and night. ||4||65||134||
