Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਕਲਪਣਾ ਤੇ ਕਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

The Word of the Guru's Shabad quiets worries and troubles.

ਆਉਣਾ ਤੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਆਰਾਮ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Coming and going ceases, and all comforts are obtained. ||1||

ਨਿਡਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

Fear is dispelled, meditating on the Fearless Lord.

ਸਚਿਆਰਾ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੈਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤੀ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||Pause||

ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿਰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਾ ਲਏ ਹਨ।

I have enshrined the Lotus Feet of the Lord within my heart.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।

The Guru has carried me across the ocean of fire. ||2||

ਮੈਂ ਡੁੱਬ ਰਿਹਾ ਸਾਂ, ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।

I was sinking down, and the Perfect Guru pulled me out.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਸਾਂ।

I was cut off from the Lord for countless incarnations, and now the Guru united me with Him again. ||3||

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫੁਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਵਾਰਨੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ,

Says Nanak, I am a sacrifice to the Guru;

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।

meeting Him, I have been saved. ||4||56||125||

ਗਊੜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ।

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਸਤਿ ਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਸੰਭਾਲ।

In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, seek His Sanctuary.

ਆਪਣੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਮੂਹਰੇ ਰੱਖ ਦੇ!

Place your mind and body in offering before Him. ||1||

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰੂਪੀ ਨਾਮ ਪਾਨ ਕਰ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੀਰ!

Drink in the Ambrosial Nectar of the Name, O my Siblings of Destiny.

ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਤੇ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਅੱਗ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੁਝ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Meditating, meditating in remembrance on the Lord, the fire of desire is totally quenched. ||1||Pause||

ਆਪਣੀ ਸਵੈ-ਹੰਗਤਾ ਛੱਡ ਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਨਮ ਤੇ ਮਰਣ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਕਰ ਲੈ।

Renounce your arrogant pride, and end the cycle of birth and death.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਗੋਲੇ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾ ਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਪਰਣਾਮ ਕਰ।

Bow in humility to the feet of the Lord's slave. ||2||

ਹਰਿ ਸੁਆਸ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰ।

Remember God in your mind, with each and every breath.

ਉਹ ਦੌਲਤ ਇਕੱਤਰ ਕਰ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਥ ਜਾਵੇ!

Gather only that wealth, which shall go with you. ||3||

ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਐਸੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਲਿਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ!

He alone obtains it, upon whose forehead such destiny is written.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫ਼ੁਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀ ਪੈ ਜਾ।

Says Nanak, fall at the Feet of that Lord. ||4||57||126||

ਗਊੜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ।

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਸੁੱਕਿਆਂ ਸੜਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੀ ਇਕ ਛਿਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਸਬਜ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

The dried branches are made green again in an instant.

ਉਸ ਦੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰੂਪੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੰਚ ਕੇ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

His Ambrosial Glance irrigates and revives them. ||1||

ਪੂਰਨ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਵਾਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਦੁਖੜੇ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।

The Perfect Divine Guru has removed my sorrow.

ਆਪਣੇ ਟਹਿਲੂਏ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

He blesses His servant with His service. ||1||Pause||

ਫਿਕਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਾਮਨਾ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ,

Anxiety is removed, and the desires of the mind are fulfilled,

ਜਦ ਗੁਣਾ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜਾਨਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

when the True Guru, the Treasure of Excellence, shows His Kindness. ||2||

ਦਰਦ ਦੌੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਆ ਕੇ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਲੈ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,

Pain is driven far away, and peace comes in its place;

ਜਦ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੁਕਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਦੇਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦੀ।

there is no delay, when the Guru gives the Order. ||3||

ਜਦ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਖ਼ਾਹਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ,

Desires are fulfilled, when one meets the True Guru;

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਸਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਮੇਵਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ।

O Nanak, His humble servant is fruitful and prosperous. ||4||58||127||

ਗਊੜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ।

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਬੁਖ਼ਾਰ ਉਤਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਨੇ ਠੰਢ-ਂਚੈਨ ਵਰਤਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।

The fever has departed; God has showered us with peace and tranquility.

ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।

A cooling peace prevails; God has granted this gift. ||1||

ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਅਸੀਂ ਸੁਖਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

By God's Grace, we have become comfortable.

ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਛੁੜਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Separated from Him for countless incarnations, we are now reunited with Him. ||1||Pause||

ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਇਸ ਰਸ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ,

Meditating, meditating in remembrance on God's Name,

ਸਮੂਹ ਬੀਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਡੇਰਾ ਪੁਟਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

the dwelling of all disease is destroyed. ||2||

ਧੀਰਜ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰ।

In intuitive peace and poise, chant the Word of the Lord's Bani.

ਦਿਨ ਦੇ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਹੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰ ਹੇ ਜੀਵ!

Twenty-four hours a day, O mortal, meditate on God. ||3||

ਪੀੜ ਤਸੀਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਦੂਤ ਉਸਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੇ,

Pain, suffering and the Messenger of Death do not even approach that one,

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

says Nanak, who sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||4||59||128||

ਗਊੜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ।

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਸ਼ੁਭ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਦਿਹਾੜਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਉਹ ਢੋ-ਮੇਲ,

Auspicious is the day, and auspicious is the chance,

ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ, ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ।

which brought me to the Supreme Lord God, the Unjoined, Unlimited One. ||1||

ਉਸ ਵਕਤ ਉਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ,

I am a sacrifice to that time,

ਜਦ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

when my mind chants the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause||

ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮੁਹਤ, ਅਤੇ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਉਹ ਸਮਾਂ,

Blessed is that moment, and blessed is that time,

ਜਦ ਮੇਰੀ ਜੀਭਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।

when my tongue chants the Name of the Lord, Har, Haree. ||2||

ਕੀਰਤੀਮਾਨ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮਸਤਕ ਜੋ ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਨਿਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Blessed is that forehead, which bows in humility to the Saints.

ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਪੈਰ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੇ ਟੁਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

Sacred are those feet, which walk on the Lord's Path. ||3||

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ,

Says Nanak, auspicious is my karma,

ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤ ਮੈਂ ਸੰਤਾਂ (ਗੁਰਾਂ) ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀ ਲੱਗਾ।

which has led me to touch the Feet of the Holy. ||4||60||129||
