ਹਰਿ ਚੇਤਹੁ; ਅੰਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਸਖਾਈ ॥
har chetahu; ant hoe sakhaaee |
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ ਜੋ ਅਖੀਰ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
Think of the Lord, who shall be your Help and Support in the end.
ਹਰਿ ਅਗਮੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਅਨਾਥੁ ਅਜੋਨੀ; ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਇ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥
har agam agochar anaath ajonee; satigur kai bhaae paavaniaa |1|
ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰ੍ਹੇ ਸਮਝ ਸੋਚ ਤੋਂ ਉਚੇਰਾ ਤੇ ਜਨਮ-ਰਹਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੇ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Lord is Inaccessible and Incomprehensible. He has no master, and He is not born. He is obtained through love of the True Guru. ||1||
ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ਵਾਰੀ; ਆਪੁ ਨਿਵਾਰਣਿਆ ॥
hau vaaree jeeo vaaree; aap nivaaraniaa |
ਮੈਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਜਾਨ ਸਦਕੇ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਉਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਵੈ-ਹੰਗਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, to those who eliminate selfishness and conceit.
ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਏ. ਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਏ; ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aap gavaae. taa har paae; har siau sehaj samaavaniaa |1| rahaau |
ਜੇਕਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਸ ਦੇਵੇ, ਤਦ ਉਹ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਖੈਨ ਹੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਅਭੇਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
They eradicate selfishness and conceit, and then find the Lord; they are intuitively immersed in the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ; ਸੁ ਕਰਮੁ ਕਮਾਇਆ ॥
poorab likhiaa; su karam kamaaeaa |
ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਅਮਲ ਕਮਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਧੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
According to their pre-ordained destiny, they act out their karma.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ; ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
satigur sev; sadaa sukh paaeaa |
ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਘਾਲ ਕਮਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਅਮਰ ਆਰਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
Serving the True Guru, a lasting peace is found.
ਬਿਨੁ ਭਾਗਾ. ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਨਾਹੀ; ਸਬਦੈ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੨॥
bin bhaagaa. gur paaeeai naahee; sabadai mel milaavaniaa |2|
ਚੰਗੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਦਾ। ਆਪਣੈ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਅੰਦਰ ਮਿਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Without good fortune, the Guru is not found. Through the Word of the Shabad, they are united in the Lord's Union. ||2||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ; ਅਲਿਪਤੁ ਰਹੈ ਸੰਸਾਰੇ ॥
guramukh; alipat rahai sansaare |
ਗੁਰੂ-ਸਮਰਪਣ ਇਸ ਜਹਾਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਵਿਚਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Gurmukhs remain unaffected in the midst of the world.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਤਕੀਐ; ਨਾਮਿ ਅਧਾਰੇ ॥
gur kai takeeai; naam adhaare |
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਹੈ।
The Guru is their cushion, and the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is their Support.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ. ਜੋਰੁ ਕਰੇ ਕਿਆ ਤਿਸ ਨੋ; ਆਪੇ ਖਪਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੩॥

ਊਸ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਕੌਣ ਧੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਜਾਬਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਰ ਮੁੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਉਠਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Who can oppress the Gurmukh? One who tries shall perish, writhing in pain. ||3||
ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਅੰਧੇ; ਸੁਧਿ ਨ ਕਾਈ ॥
manamukh andhe; sudh na kaaee |
ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਅਧਰਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਸੋਚ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ।
The blind self-willed manmukhs have no understanding at all.
ਆਤਮ ਘਾਤੀ; ਹੈ ਜਗਤ ਕਸਾਈ ॥
aatam ghaatee; hai jagat kasaaee |
ਊਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੇ ਜਹਾਨ ਦਾ ਜੱਲਾਦ ਹੈ।
They are the assassins of the self, and the butchers of the world.
ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਰੁ ਉਠਾਵੈ; ਬਿਨੁ ਮਜੂਰੀ. ਭਾਰੁ ਪਹੁਚਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੪॥
nindaa kar kar bahu bhaar utthaavai; bin majooree. bhaar pahuchaavaniaa |4|
ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਬਦਖੋਈ ਕਰਕੇ ਊਹ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਬੋਝ ਊਠਾਉਂਦਾ। ਮਜਦੂਰੀ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਉਹ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਬੋਝ ਚੁੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
By continually slandering others, they carry a terrible load, and they carry the loads of others for nothing. ||4||
ਇਹੁ ਜਗੁ ਵਾੜੀ; ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਾਲੀ ॥
eihu jag vaarree; meraa prabh maalee |
ਇਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਇੱਕ ਬਾਗ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਬਾਗਬਾਨ ਹੈ।
This world is a garden, and my Lord God is the Gardener.
ਸਦਾ ਸਮਾਲੇ; ਕੋ ਨਾਹੀ ਖਾਲੀ ॥
sadaa samaale; ko naahee khaalee |
ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਰਖਵਾਲੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਂਝਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ।
He always takes care of it-nothing is exempt from His Care.
ਜੇਹੀ ਵਾਸਨਾ ਪਾਏ ਤੇਹੀ ਵਰਤੈ; ਵਾਸੂ ਵਾਸੁ ਜਣਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੫॥
jehee vaasanaa paae tehee varatai; vaasoo vaas janaavaniaa |5|
ਜੇਹੋ ਜੇਹੀ ਮਹਿਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਫੁੱਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਫੂਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੋ ਜੇਹੀ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰਬਲ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਖੁਸ਼ਬੋਦਾਰ ਫੁੱਲ ਆਪਣੀ ਖੁਸ਼ਬੋ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
As is the fragrance which He bestows, so is the fragrant flower known. ||5||
ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਰੋਗੀ ਹੈ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥
manamukh rogee hai sansaaraa |
ਮਨ ਮਤੀਆ ਇਸ ਜਹਾਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਰੋਗ-ਗ੍ਰਸਤ ਹੈ।
The self-willed manmukhs are sick and diseased in the world.
ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਵਿਸਰਿਆ; ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
sukhadaataa visariaa; agam apaaraa |
ਊਸ ਨੈ ਆਰਾਮ ਬਖਸ਼ਣਹਾਰ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰ੍ਹੇ ਤੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
They have forgotten the Giver of peace, the Unfathomable, the Infinite.
ਦੁਖੀਏ ਨਿਤਿ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਬਿਲਲਾਦੇ; ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ. ਸਾਂਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੬॥
dukhee nit fireh bilalaade; bin gur. saant na paavaniaa |6|
ਕਸ਼ਟ-ਪੀੜਤ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੀ ਰੋਂਦੇ ਪਿੱਟਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਠੰਢ-ਚੈਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।
These miserable people wander endlessly, crying out in pain; without the Guru, they find no peace. ||6||
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਤੇ; ਸੋਈ ਬਿਧਿ ਜਾਣੈ ॥
jin keete; soee bidh jaanai |
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਜਿਆ ਹੈ, ਊਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਸ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ।
The One who created them, knows their condition.
ਆਪਿ ਕਰੇ; ਤਾ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਪਛਾਣੈ ॥
aap kare; taa hukam pachhaanai |
ਜੇਕਰ ਸਾਈਂ ਖੁਦ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੇ ਤਦ ਬੰਦਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਮਰ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
And if He inspires them, then they realize the Hukam of His Command.
ਜੇਹਾ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਏ. ਤੇਹਾ ਵਰਤੈ; ਆਪੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥
jehaa andar paae. tehaa varatai; aape baahar paavaniaa |7|
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਭਾਵ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਵਰਤ ਵਰਤਾਰਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਈਂ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਐਸੇ ਸੁਭਾਵ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਟ ਸੁਟਣ ਲਈ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੈ।
Whatever He places within them, that is what prevails, and so they outwardly appear. ||7||
ਤਿਸੁ ਬਾਝਹੁ ਸਚੇ; ਮੈ. ਹੋਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥
tis baajhahu sache; mai. hor na koee |
ਉਸ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਮੈਂ ਹੋਰਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਛਾਣਦਾ।
I know of no other except the True One.
ਜਿਸੁ ਲਾਇ ਲਏ; ਸੋ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਈ ॥
jis laae le; so niramal hoee |
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪਾਕ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Those, whom the Lord attaches to Himself, become pure.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ; ਜਿਸੁ ਦੇਵੈ ਸੋ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੮॥੧੪॥੧੫॥
naanak. naam vasai ghatt antar; jis devai so paavaniaa |8|14|15|
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਈਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, the Naam, the Name of the Lord, abides deep within the heart of those, unto whom He has given it. ||8||14||15||

ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ; ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ ॥

ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਦਾ ਸੁਧਾਸਰੂਪ ਨਾਮ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ,
Enshrining the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord, in the mind,
ਹਉਮੈ ਮੇਰਾ; ਸਭੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਗਵਾਏ ॥
haumai meraa; sabh dukh gavaae |
ਸਵੈ-ਹੰਗਤਾ ਤੇ ਅਪਣੱਤ ਦੀ ਸਮੂਹ ਪੀੜਾ ਨਵਿਰਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
all the pains of egotism, selfishness and conceit are eliminated.
ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਦਾ ਸਲਾਹੇ; ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤਿ ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤੁ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥
amrit baanee sadaa salaahe; amrit amrit paavaniaa |1|
ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ-ਮਈ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਅਮਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਬਿ-ਹਿਯਾਤ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
By continually praising the Ambrosial Bani of the Word, I obtain the Amrit, the Ambrosial Nectar. ||1||
ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ਵਾਰੀ; ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਵਣਿਆ ॥
hau vaaree jeeo vaaree; amrit baanee man vasaavaniaa |
ਮੈਂ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਹੈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਪੁਨਰ-ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, to those who enshrine the Ambrosial Bani of the Word within their minds.
ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ; ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
amrit baanee man vasaae; amrit naam dhiaavaniaa |1| rahaau |
ਜੋ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਕਰਨਹਾਰ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸਥਾਪਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਊਹ ਆਬਿ-ਹਿਯਾਤੀ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਅਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
Enshrining the Ambrosial Bani in their minds, they meditate on the Ambrosial Naam. ||1||Pause||
ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤੁ ਬੋਲੈ; ਸਦਾ ਮੁਖਿ ਵੈਣੀ ॥
amrit bolai; sadaa mukh vainee |
ਜੋ ਆਬਿ-ਹਿਯਾਤ ਵਰਗੇ ਮਿੱਠੇ ਬਚਨ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਊਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
Those who continually chant the Ambrosial Words of Nectar,
ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤੁ ਵੇਖੈ ਪਰਖੈ ਸਦਾ ਨੈਣੀ ॥
amrit vekhai parakhai sadaa nainee |
ਉਹ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਮਈ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੇਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਤੇ ਪਛਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
See and behold this Amrit everywhere with their eyes.
ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤ ਕਥਾ ਕਹੈ ਸਦਾ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ; ਅਵਰਾ ਆਖਿ ਸੁਨਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੨॥
amrit kathaa kahai sadaa din raatee; avaraa aakh sunaavaniaa |2|
ਸੁਧਾ ਰੂਪ ਵਰਨਣ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਦਿਹੁੰ ਰੈਣ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਹੋਰਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
They continually chant the Ambrosial Sermon day and night; chanting it, they cause others to hear it. ||2||
ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤਾ; ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ ॥
amrit rang rataa; liv laae |
ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਸੁਧਾ-ਸਰੂਪ ਸਨੇਹ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਿਰਤੀ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ।
Imbued with the Ambrosial Love of the Lord, they lovingly focus their attention on Him.
ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤੁ; ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਪਾਏ ॥
amrit; gur parasaadee paae |
ਆਬਿ-ਹਿਯਾਤ (ਨਾਮ) ਊਹ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
By Guru's Grace, they receive this Amrit.
ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤੁ ਰਸਨਾ ਬੋਲੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ; ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤੁ ਪੀਆਵਣਿਆ ॥੩॥
amrit rasanaa bolai din raatee; man tan amrit peeaavaniaa |3|
ਆਬਿ-ਹਿਯਾਤ (ਨਾਮ) ਦਿਹੁੰ ਰੈਣ ਊਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਿਹਭਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਊਸ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਆਬਿ-ਹਿਯਾਤ (ਨਾਮ) ਨਾਲ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਹੋਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
They chant the Ambrosial Name with their tongues day and night; their minds and bodies are satisfied by this Amrit. ||3||
ਸੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੈ; ਜੁ ਚਿਤਿ. ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
so kichh karai; ju chit. na hoee |
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਊਹ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਦੇ ਖਾਬ ਖਿਆਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।
That which God does is beyond anyone's consciousness;
ਤਿਸ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ; ਮੇਟਿ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਕੋਈ ॥
tis daa hukam; mett na sakai koee |
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਫੁਰਮਾਨ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
no one can erase the Hukam of His Command.
ਹੁਕਮੇ ਵਰਤੈ ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤ ਬਾਣੀ; ਹੁਕਮੇ ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤੁ ਪੀਆਵਣਿਆ ॥੪॥
hukame varatai amrit baanee; hukame amrit peeaavaniaa |4|
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਿੱਠੜੀ ਮਰਜੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੁਧਾ-ਸਰੂਪ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਪਰਚੱਲਤ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਰਜਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ-ਮਈ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
By His Command, the Ambrosial Bani of the Word prevails, and by His Command, we drink in the Amrit. ||4||
ਅਜਬ ਕੰਮ; ਕਰਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੇਰੇ ॥
ajab kam; karate har kere |
ਅਸਚਰਜ ਹਨ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਦੇ ਕਰਤਬ।
The actions of the Creator Lord are marvellous and wonderful.
ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਭੂਲਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ; ਫੇਰੇ ॥
eihu man bhoolaa jaandaa; fere |
ਇਹ ਘੁੱਸਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਮਨੂਆ ਆਵਾਗਉਣ ਦੇ ਗੇੜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
This mind is deluded, and goes around the wheel of reincarnation.
ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਿਉ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ; ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤ ਸਬਦਿ ਵਜਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੫॥
amrit baanee siau chit laae; amrit sabad vajaavaniaa |5|
ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਮਈ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਉਤੇ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਊਸ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਸੁਧਾ-ਸਰੂਪ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Those who focus their consciousness on the Ambrosial Bani of the Word, hear the vibrations of the Ambrosial Word of the Shabad. ||5||
