ਸਬਦਿ ਮਰੈ. ਮਨੁ ਮਾਰੈ ਅਪੁਨਾ; ਮੁਕਤੀ ਕਾ ਦਰੁ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੩॥
sabad marai. man maarai apunaa; mukatee kaa dar paavaniaa |3|
ਜੋ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਮਰਦਾ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨੂਏ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਬੂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Those who die in the Shabad and subdue their own minds, obtain the door of liberation. ||3||
ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਕਾਟੈ; ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥
kilavikh kaattai; krodh nivaare |
ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਾਪ ਮੇਸ ਸੁੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਟ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
They erase their sins, and eliminate their anger;
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ; ਰਖੈ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
gur kaa sabad; rakhai ur dhaare |
ਜੋ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
they keep the Guru's Shabad clasped tightly to their hearts.
ਸਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ; ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੪॥
sach rate sadaa bairaagee; haumai maar milaavaniaa |4|
ਜੋ ਸੱਚ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਜੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੀ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਈਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who are attuned to Truth, remain balanced and detached forever. Subduing their egotism, they are united with the Lord. ||4||
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਰਤਨੁ; ਮਿਲੈ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥

ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜਵੇਹਰ ਹੈ। ਜੇਕਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
Deep within the nucleus of the self is the jewel; we receive it only if the Lord inspires us to receive it.
ਤਿ੍ਰਬਿਧਿ ਮਨਸਾ; ਤਿ੍ਰਬਿਧਿ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
tribidh manasaa; tribidh maaeaa |
ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਸੁਭਾਵਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੂਆ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਮੋਹਨੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਖਚਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The mind is bound by the three dispositions-the three modes of Maya.
ਪੜਿ ਪੜਿ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਮੋਨੀ ਥਕੇ; ਚਉਥੇ ਪਦ ਕੀ ਸਾਰ. ਨ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੫॥

ਪੜ੍ਹ ਵਾਚ ਕੇ ਪੰਡਤ ਤੇ ਖਾਮੋਸ਼ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਹਾਰ ਗਏ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਊਹ ਚੌਥੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਕਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਤੇ।
Reading and reciting, the Pandits, the religious scholars, and the silent sages have grown weary, but they have not found the supreme essence of the fourth state. ||5||
ਆਪੇ ਰੰਗੇ. ਰੰਗੁ ਚੜਾਏ ॥

ਸਾਈਂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੀ ਪਾਹ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਰੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Lord Himself dyes us in the color of His Love.
ਸੇ ਜਨ ਰਾਤੇ; ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਰੰਗਾਏ ॥
se jan raate; gur sabad rangaae |
ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹੀ ਪੁਰਸ਼, ਜੋ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਜੇ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰੰਗੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Only those who are steeped in the Word of the Guru's Shabad are so imbued with His Love.
ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਚੜਿਆ ਅਤਿ ਅਪਾਰਾ; ਹਰਿ ਰਸਿ ਰਸਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੬॥
har rang charriaa at apaaraa; har ras ras gun gaavaniaa |6|
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਪਰਮ-ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੀ ਰੰਗਤ ਅਖਤਿਆਰ ਕਰ ਲਈ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਬੜੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Imbued with the most beautiful color of the Lord's Love, they sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, with great pleasure and joy. ||6||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਰਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ; ਸਚੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
guramukh ridh sidh; sach sanjam soee |
ਗੁਰੂ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਹੀ ਧਨ ਸੰਪਦਾ, ਕਰਾਮਾਤ ਤੇ ਸਵੈ-ਰਿਆਜਤ ਹੈ।
To the Gurmukh, the True Lord is wealth, miraculous spiritual powers and strict self-discipline.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ; ਨਾਮਿ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਹੋਈ ॥

ਗੁਰੂ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ ਬੋਧ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Through the spiritual wisdom of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the Gurmukh is liberated.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕਾਰ ਸਚੁ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ; ਸਚੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥
guramukh kaar sach kamaaveh; sache sach samaavaniaa |7|
ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਸੱਚੇ ਅਮਲ ਕਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚਿਆਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਮ ਸਚਿਆਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Gurmukh practices Truth, and is absorbed in the Truest of the True. ||7||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਥਾਪੇ; ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪੇ ॥
guramukh thaape; thaap uthaape |
ਸੱਚਾ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਰਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਰਚ ਰਚ ਕੇ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Gurmukh realizes that the Lord alone creates, and having created, He destroys.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਤਿ ਪਤਿ; ਸਭੁ ਆਪੇ ॥
guramukh jaat pat; sabh aape |
ਗੁਰੂ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਦਾ ਸਾਈਂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਾਤੀ ਤੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਇੱਜਤ ਹੈ।
To the Gurmukh, the Lord Himself is social class, status and all honor.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ; ਨਾਮੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੮॥੧੨॥੧੩॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਨਾਮ ਅਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮ-ਸਰੂਪ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿੰਚ ਹੀ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, the Gurmukhs meditate on the Naam; through the Naam, they merge in the Naam. ||8||12||13||

ਮਾਝ, ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
Maajh, Third Mehl:
ਉਤਪਤਿ ਪਰਲਉ; ਸਬਦੇ ਹੋਵੈ ॥

ਰਚਨਾ ਤੇ ਕਿਆਮਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
Creation and destruction happen through the Word of the Shabad.
ਸਬਦੇ ਹੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਓਪਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ॥

ਬਚਨ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਉਤਪਤੀ ਮੁੜ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਦੀ ਹੈ।
Through the Shabad, creation happens again.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਸਭੁ ਆਪੇ ਸਚਾ; ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਉਪਾਇ ਸਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥
guramukh varatai sabh aape sachaa; guramukh upaae samaavaniaa |1|
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਗੋਲਾ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸੱਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ-ਸਮਰਪਣ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਭਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਲੀਨ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Gurmukh knows that the True Lord is all-pervading. The Gurmukh understands creation and merger. ||1||
ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ਵਾਰੀ; ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਵਣਿਆ ॥
hau vaaree jeeo vaaree; gur pooraa man vasaavaniaa |
ਮੈਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹੈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, to those who enshrine the Perfect Guru within their minds.
ਗੁਰ ਤੇ. ਸਾਤਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ; ਗੁਣ ਕਹਿ. ਗੁਣੀ ਸਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਬੰਦਾ ਠੰਢ-ਚੈਨ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਦਿਹੁੰ ਰੈਣ ਪਰੇਮ-ਮਈ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਘਾ-ਯੋਗ ਪੁਰਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
From the Guru comes peace and tranquility; worship Him with devotion, day and night. Chanting His Glorious Praises, merge into the Glorious Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਧਰਤੀ; ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਣੀ ॥
guramukh dharatee; guramukh paanee |
ਗੁਰੂ-ਸਮਰਪਣ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਮੀਨ ਤੇ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਾ ਦਾ ਗੋਲਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਞਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Gurmukh sees the Lord on the earth, and the Gurmukh sees Him in the water.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਵਣੁ ਬੈਸੰਤਰੁ; ਖੇਲੈ ਵਿਡਾਣੀ ॥
guramukh pavan baisantar; khelai viddaanee |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਗੋਲਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਵਾ ਤੇ ਅੱਗ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਅਸਚਰਜ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਖੇਡਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Gurmukh sees Him in wind and fire; such is the wonder of His Play.
ਸੋ ਨਿਗੁਰਾ. ਜੋ ਮਰਿ ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮੈ; ਨਿਗੁਰੇ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੨॥
so niguraa. jo mar mar jamai; nigure aavan jaavaniaa |2|
ਜੋ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਮਰਦਾ ਤੇ ਜੰਮਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਵਿਹੂਣ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਵਿਹੂਣ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
One who has no Guru, dies over and over again, only to be re-born. One who has no Guru continues coming and going in reincarnation. ||2||
ਤਿਨਿ ਕਰਤੈ; ਇਕੁ ਖੇਲੁ ਰਚਾਇਆ ॥
tin karatai; ik khel rachaaeaa |
ਉਸ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਨਾਟਕ ਸਾਜਿਆ ਹੈ।
The One Creator has set this play in motion.
ਕਾਇਆ ਸਰੀਰੈ ਵਿਚਿ; ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
kaaeaa sareerai vich; sabh kichh paaeaa |
ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਦੇਹਿ ਦੇ ਕਲਬੂਤ ਅੰਦਰ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਸਤੂਆਂ ਪਾਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
In the frame of the human body, He has placed all things.
ਸਬਦਿ ਭੇਦਿ. ਕੋਈ ਮਹਲੁ ਪਾਏ; ਮਹਲੇ ਮਹਲਿ ਬੁਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੩॥
sabad bhed. koee mehal paae; mahale mehal bulaavaniaa |3|
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਨਿੱਆ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਹੀ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੀ ਹਜੂਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਐਸੀ ਵਹੁਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਲਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਬੁਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Those few who are pierced through by the Word of the Shabad, obtain the Mansion of the Lord's Presence. He calls them into His Wondrous Palace. ||3||
ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹੁ; ਸਚੇ ਵਣਜਾਰੇ ॥
sachaa saahu; sache vanajaare |
ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ ਸ਼ਾਹੂਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਹਨ ਊਸ ਦੇ ਵਾਪਾਰੀ।
True is the Banker, and true are His traders.
ਸਚੁ ਵਣੰਜਹਿ; ਗੁਰ ਹੇਤਿ ਅਪਾਰੇ ॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੰਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਖਰੀਦਦੇ ਹਨ।
They purchase Truth, with infinite love for the Guru.
ਸਚੁ ਵਿਹਾਝਹਿ ਸਚੁ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ; ਸਚੋ ਸਚੁ ਕਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੪॥
sach vihaajheh sach kamaaveh; sacho sach kamaavaniaa |4|
ਸੱਚ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਵਪਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸੱਚ ਦਾ ਊਹ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਨਿਰੋਲ ਸੱਚ ਦੀ ਉਹ ਖੱਟੀ ਖੱਟਦੇ ਹਨ।
They deal in Truth, and they practice Truth. They earn Truth, and only Truth. ||4||
ਬਿਨੁ ਰਾਸੀ; ਕੋ ਵਥੁ ਕਿਉ ਪਾਏ ॥
bin raasee; ko vath kiau paae |
ਪੂੰਜੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਜਣਾ ਵਸਤੂ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
Without investment capital, how can anyone acquire merchandise?
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਭੂਲੇ; ਲੋਕ ਸਬਾਏ ॥
manamukh bhoole; lok sabaae |
ਆਪ-ਹੁਦਰੇ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਸਭ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
The self-willed manmukhs have all gone astray.
ਬਿਨੁ ਰਾਸੀ. ਸਭ ਖਾਲੀ ਚਲੇ; ਖਾਲੀ ਜਾਇ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੫॥
bin raasee. sabh khaalee chale; khaalee jaae dukh paavaniaa |5|
ਨਾਮ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੱਖਣੇ-ਹੱਥੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਖਣੇ-ਹੱਥੀਂ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਤਕਲੀਫ ਊਠਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Without true wealth, everyone goes empty-handed; going empty-handed, they suffer in pain. ||5||
ਇਕਿ ਸਚੁ ਵਣੰਜਹਿ; ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥

ਕਈ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਪੀਤ੍ਰ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਵਪਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Some deal in Truth, through love of the Guru's Shabad.
ਆਪਿ ਤਰਹਿ; ਸਗਲੇ ਕੁਲ ਤਾਰੇ ॥
aap tareh; sagale kul taare |
ਊਹ ਖੁਦ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਵੰਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਤਾਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
They save themselves, and save all their ancestors as well.
ਆਏ ਸੇ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਹੋਏ; ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ. ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੬॥
aae se paravaan hoe; mil preetam. sukh paavaniaa |6|
ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣੀਕ ਹੈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਗਮਨ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Very auspicious is the coming of those who meet their Beloved and find peace. ||6||
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਵਸਤੁ; ਮੂੜਾ ਬਾਹਰੁ ਭਾਲੇ ॥

ਐਨ ਅੰਦਰਵਾਰ ਹੈ ਵੱਥ ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਮੂਰਖ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰਵਾਰ ਲੱਭਦਾ ਹੈ।
Deep within the self is the secret, but the fool looks for it outside.
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਅੰਧੇ; ਫਿਰਹਿ ਬੇਤਾਲੇ ॥

ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਅਧਰਮੀ ਭੂਤਨਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਙੂੰ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The blind self-willed manmukhs wander around like demons;
ਜਿਥੈ ਵਥੁ ਹੋਵੈ. ਤਿਥਹੁ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ; ਮਨਮੁਖ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥
jithai vath hovai. tithahu koe na paavai; manamukh bharam bhulaavaniaa |7|
ਜਿਥੇ ਚੀਜ ਹੈ, ਉਥੋਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਕਰਦਾ। ਆਪ-ਹੁਦਰੇ ਸ਼ੱਕ ਸ਼ੁਭੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਘੁਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
but where the secret is, there, they do not find it. The manmukhs are deluded by doubt. ||7||
ਆਪੇ ਦੇਵੈ; ਸਬਦਿ ਬੁਲਾਏ ॥
aape devai; sabad bulaae |
ਸਾਈਂ ਖੁਦ ਸੱਦ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
He Himself calls us, and bestows the Word of the Shabad.
ਮਹਲੀ ਮਹਲਿ; ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ॥
mahalee mehal; sehaj sukh paae |
ਵਹੁਟੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਾੜੇ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਆਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
The soul-bride finds intuitive peace and poise in the Mansion of the Lord's Presence.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਨਾਮਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ; ਆਪੇ ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਧਿਆਵਣਿਆ ॥੮॥੧੩॥੧੪॥
naanak. naam milai vaddiaaee; aape sun sun dhiaavaniaa |8|13|14|
ਨਾਨਕ, ਜੋ ਖੁਦ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਮ ਇੱਕ-ਰਸ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਤੇ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਜੁਰਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, she obtains the glorious greatness of the Naam; she hears it again and again, and she meditates on it. ||8||13||14||

Maajh, Third Mehl:
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ; ਸਾਚੀ ਸਿਖ ਸੁਣਾਈ ॥
satigur; saachee sikh sunaaee |
ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੱਚੀ ਸਿੱਖ-ਮਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
The True Guru has imparted the True Teachings.
