ਸਲੋਕ, ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Third Mehl:

ਜੋ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਜੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਤੇ ਪਰੇਮ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਖੁਸ਼-ਬਾਸ਼ ਪਤਨੀ ਹੈ।

The happy soul-bride is attuned to the Word of the Shabad; she is in love with the True Guru.

ਸੱਚੀ ਲਗਨ ਤੇ ਮੁਹੱਬਤ ਨਾਲ, ਉਹ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ।

She continually enjoys and ravishes her Beloved, with true love and affection.

ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਮ ਸੁਹਣੀ ਸੁਨੱਖੀ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ-ਯੋਗ ਵਹੁਟੀ ਹੈ।

She is such a loveable, beautiful and noble woman.

ਨਾਨਕ, ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਸੱਚੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਅਭੇਦ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਅਭੇਦ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

O Nanak, through the Naam, the happy soul-bride unites with the Lord of Union. ||2||

ਪਊੜੀ।

Pauree:

ਸਾਰੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਹਿਮਾਂ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਫਸਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਕਰ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ।

Lord, everyone sings Your Praises. You have freed us from bondage.

ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬੰਦਨਾਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਨਾਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।

Lord, everyone bows in reverence to You. You have saved us from our sinful ways.

ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਤੂੰ ਬੇਇਜ਼ਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਇਜ਼ਤ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਤਾਕਤਵਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮ-ਤਾਕਤਵਰ ਹੈ।

Lord, You are the Honor of the dishonored. Lord, You are the Strongest of the strong.

ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਗ਼ਰੂਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਸਲ ਕਰਕੇ ਨੀਚਾ ਦਿਖਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੂੰਹ-ਜ਼ੋਰ ਮੂਰਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਰੁਸਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

The Lord beats down the egocentrics and corrects the foolish, self-willed manmukhs.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ, ਗਰੀਬੜਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਖਸਮਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭਤਾ ਬਖਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ।

The Lord bestows glorious greatness on His devotees, the poor, and the lost souls. ||17||

ਸਲੋਕ, ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Salok, Third Mehl:

ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਭਾਰੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

One who walks in harmony with the Will of the True Guru, obtains the greatest glory.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਉਤਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਤ ਨਾਮ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਨਾਮਵਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਮੇਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।

The Exalted Name of the Lord abides in his mind, and no one can take it away.

ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਅਮਲਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

That person, upon whom the Lord bestows His Grace, receives His Mercy.

ਨਾਨਕ, ਰਚਨਾ ਰਚਣਹਾਰ ਦੇ ਅਖਤਿਆਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

O Nanak, creativity is under the control of the Creator; how rare are those who, as Gurmukh, realize this! ||1||

ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Third Mehl:

ਨਾਨਕ, ਜੋ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਰੈਣ-ਦਿਹੁੰ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਇਹ ਰਸ ਸਨੇਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਸਦੇ ਹਨ।

O Nanak, those who worship and adore the Lord's Name night and day, vibrate the String of the Lord's Love.

ਮੋਹਣੀ, ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਬਾਂਦੀ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੂਹਰੇ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

Maya, the maid-servant of our Lord and Master, serves them.

ਸੁਧਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਫੁਰਮਾਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਕਰ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ।

The Perfect One has made them perfect; by the Hukam of His Command, they are embellished.

ਜਿਹੜੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

By Guru's Grace, they understand Him, and they find the gate of salvation.

ਆਪ-ਹੁਦਰੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਫੁਰਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦੇ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਦੂਤ ਡੰਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੁਟਦਾ ਹੈ।

The self-willed manmukhs do not know the Lord's Command; they are beaten down by the Messenger of Death.

ਜੋ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਸਦਕਾ, ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਜਗਤ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

But the Gurmukhs, who worship and adore the Lord, cross over the terrifying world-ocean.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਜੋ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਾਫੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬਦੀਆਂ, ਚੰਗਿਆਈਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਸ ਛਡਦੇ ਹਨ।

All their demerits are erased, and replaced with merits. The Guru Himself is their Forgiver. ||2||

ਪਊੜੀ।

Pauree:

ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਫਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬ ਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ।

The Lord's devotees have faith in Him. The Lord knows everything.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜਿੱਡਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਣਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ। ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪੂਰਾ ਇਨਸਾਫ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

No one is as great a Knower as the Lord; the Lord administers righteous justice.

ਅਸੀਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਸਾੜਾ ਤੇ ਫਿਕਰ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰੀਏ ਜਦ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕੋਈ ਅਨਿਆਈ ਦੰਡ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ।

Why should we feel any burning anxiety, since the Lord does not punish without just cause?

ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ ਮਾਲਕ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਇਨਸਾਫ ਕੇਵਲ ਗੁਨਾਹਗਾਰ ਬੰਦਾ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਿਕਸਤ ਉਠਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

True is the Master, and True is His Justice; only the sinners are defeated.

ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ, ਹੈ ਸੰਤੋ! ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਪਰਸੰਸਾ ਕਰੋ। ਹਰੀ ਸਾਧ-ਰੂਪ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

O devotees, praise the Lord with your palms pressed together; the Lord saves His humble devotees. ||18||

ਸਲੋਕ ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Salok, Third Mehl:

ਰੱਬ ਕਰੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਤੇ ਦਿਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਈ ਰੱਖਾਂ।

Oh, if only I could meet my Beloved, and keep Him enshrined deep within my heart!

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਮੈਂ ਸਦੀਵ ਤੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

I praise that God forever and ever, through love and affection for the Guru.

ਨਾਨਕ, ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਜਾਂ-ਨਿਸਾਰ ਪਤਨੀ ਹੈ।

O Nanak, that one upon whom He bestows His Glance of Grace is united with Him; such a person is the true soul-bride of the Lord. ||1||

ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Third Mehl:

ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਹਰ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾ ਕੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Serving the Guru, the Lord is obtained, when He bestows His Glance of Grace.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਅਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਹ ਸੁਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

They are transformed from humans into angels, meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਹੰਗਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਸ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸਾਈਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

They conquer their egotism and merge with the Lord; they are saved through the Word of the Guru's Shabad.

ਨਾਨਕ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਨਿਛਾਵਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸੂਖੈਨ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

O Nanak, they merge imperceptibly into the Lord, who has bestowed His Favor upon them. ||2||

ਪਊੜੀ।

Pauree:

ਇਨਸਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਮਈ ਸੇਵਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਪਰਗਟ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।

The Lord Himself inspires us to worship Him; He reveals His Glorious Greatness.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਭਗਤ ਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਸਚਾ ਬਨ੍ਹਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

He Himself inspires us to place our faith in Him. Thus He performs His Own Service.
