ਤਿ੍ਰਭਵਣਿ. ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਣੀਐ; ਸਾਚੋ ਸਾਚੈ ਨਾਇ ॥੫॥

ਉਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਜਹਾਨਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ ਨਾਮ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ।
God is known throughout the three worlds. True is the Name of the True One. ||5||
ਸਾ ਧਨ ਖਰੀ ਸੁਹਾਵਣੀ; ਜਿਨਿ ਪਿਰੁ ਜਾਤਾ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
saa dhan kharee suhaavanee; jin pir jaataa sang |
ਬਹੁਤ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਵਹੁਟੀ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਸਮਝਦੀ ਹੈ।
The wife who knows that her Husband Lord is always with her is very beautiful.
ਮਹਲੀ ਮਹਲਿ ਬੁਲਾਈਐ; ਸੋ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਵੇ ਰੰਗਿ ॥
mahalee mehal bulaaeeai; so pir raave rang |
ਐਸੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਦੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਤ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
The soul-bride is called to the Mansion of the His Presence, and her Husband Lord ravishes her with love.
ਸਚਿ ਸੁਹਾਗਣਿ ਸਾ ਭਲੀ; ਪਿਰਿ ਮੋਹੀ ਗੁਣ ਸੰਗਿ ॥੬॥
sach suhaagan saa bhalee; pir mohee gun sang |6|
ਉਹੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਮੁੱਚੀ ਖੁਸ਼ ਤੇ ਨੇਕ ਵਹੁਟੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਉਤਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਤਾਈਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਫ਼ਰੇਫ਼ਤਾ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
The happy soul-bride is true and good; she is fascinated by the Glories of her Husband Lord. ||6||
ਭੂਲੀ ਭੂਲੀ ਥਲਿ ਚੜਾ; ਥਲਿ ਚੜਿ ਡੂਗਰਿ ਜਾਉ ॥
bhoolee bhoolee thal charraa; thal charr ddoogar jaau |
ਘੁੱਸ ਤੇ ਭੁਲ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਚੇ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਪਹਾੜ ਉਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹਾਂ।
Wandering around and making mistakes, I climb the plateau; having climbed the plateau, I go up the mountain.
ਬਨ ਮਹਿ ਭੂਲੀ ਜੇ ਫਿਰਾ; ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ. ਬੂਝ ਨ ਪਾਉ ॥
ban meh bhoolee je firaa; bin gur. boojh na paau |
ਰਾਹੋਂ ਘੁੱਸ ਕੇ, ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਜੰਗਲ ਆਦਿ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਟਕਦੀ ਫਿਰਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਗ਼ੈਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ (ਪਈਂ) ਪਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣੀ।
But now I have lost my way, and I am wandering around in the forest; without the Guru, I do not understand.
ਨਾਵਹੁ ਭੂਲੀ ਜੇ ਫਿਰਾ; ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵਉ ਜਾਉ ॥੭॥
naavahu bhoolee je firaa; fir fir aavau jaau |7|
ਜੇਕਰ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਰੀ ਫਿਰਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਰਹਾਂਗੀ।
If I wander around forgetting God's Name, I shall continue coming and going in reincarnation, over and over again. ||7||
ਪੁਛਹੁ ਜਾਇ ਪਧਾਊਆ; ਚਲੇ ਚਾਕਰ ਹੋਇ ॥
puchhahu jaae padhaaooaa; chale chaakar hoe |
ਜਾ ਕੇ ਰਾਹੀਆਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਕਰ ਲਓ ਜੋ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਗੋਲੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਟੁਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Go and ask the travellers, how to walk on the Path as His slave.
ਰਾਜਨੁ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਆਪਣਾ; ਦਰਿ ਘਰਿ. ਠਾਕ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥
raajan jaaneh aapanaa; dar ghar. tthaak na hoe |
ਉਹ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਤਸੱਵਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੇ ਮਹਿਲ ਦੇ ਬੂਹੇ ਤੇ ਰੋਕਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ।
They know the Lord to be their King, and at the Door to His Home, their way is not blocked.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਏਕੋ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ; ਦੂਜਾ. ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥੮॥੬॥
naanak. eko rav rahiaa; doojaa. avar na koe |8|6|
ਨਾਨਕ, ਇਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੀ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਦੂਸਰਾ ਮੂਲੋਂ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ।
O Nanak, the One is pervading everywhere; there is no other at all. ||8||6||

ਗੁਰ ਤੇ. ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਜਾਣੀਐ; ਨਿਰਮਲ ਦੇਹ ਸਰੀਰੁ ॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਢਾਂਚਾ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Through the Guru, the Pure One is known, and the human body becomes pure as well.
ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਸਾਚੋ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ; ਸੋ ਜਾਣੈ ਅਭ ਪੀਰ ॥
niramal saacho man vasai; so jaanai abh peer |
ਪੁਨੀਤ ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਪੀੜ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Pure, True Lord abides within the mind; He knows the pain of our hearts.
ਸਹਜੈ ਤੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਅਗਲੋ; ਨਾ ਲਾਗੈ ਜਮ ਤੀਰੁ ॥੧॥
sahajai te sukh agalo; naa laagai jam teer |1|
ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ-ਗਿਆਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਰਮ-ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਉਤਪਨ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਬਾਣ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ।
With intuitive ease, a great peace is found, and the arrow of death shall not strike you. ||1||
ਭਾਈ ਰੇ. ਮੈਲੁ ਨਾਹੀ; ਨਿਰਮਲ ਜਲਿ ਨਾਇ ॥
bhaaee re. mail naahee; niramal jal naae |
ਹੇ ਵੀਰ! ਹਰੀ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਮਲੀਨਤਾ ਲੱਗੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿਣੀ।
O Siblings of Destiny, filth is washed away by bathing in the Pure Water of the Name.
ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਏਕੁ ਤੂ; ਹੋਰੁ ਮੈਲੁ ਭਰੀ ਸਭ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਕੇਵਲ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੈਲ-ਰਹਿਤ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਸਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਗੰਦਗੀ ਨਾਲ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
You alone are Perfectly Pure, O True Lord; all other places are filled with filth. ||1||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਮੰਦਰੁ ਸੋਹਣਾ; ਕੀਆ ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰਿ ॥
har kaa mandar sohanaa; keea karanaihaar |
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਮਹਿਲ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ। ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਜਿਆ ਹੈ।
The Temple of the Lord is beautiful; it was made by the Creator Lord.
ਰਵਿ ਸਸਿ ਦੀਪ ਅਨੂਪ ਜੋਤਿ; ਤਿ੍ਰਭਵਣਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
rav sas deep anoop jot; tribhavan jot apaar |
ਲਾਸਾਨੀ ਹੈ ਸੂਰਜ ਤੇ ਚੰਦ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੋਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਮਕ। ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਅਨੰਤ ਚਾਨਣ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਜਹਾਨਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
The sun and the moon are lamps of incomparably beautiful light. Throughout the three worlds, the Infinite Light is pervading.
ਹਾਟ ਪਟਣ ਗੜ ਕੋਠੜੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਉਦਾ ਵਾਪਾਰ ॥੨॥

ਦੇਹਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਦੁਕਾਨਾਂ, ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਕਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਣਜ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੌਦਾ-ਸੂਤ ਹੈ।
In the shops of the city of the body, in the fortresses and in the huts, the True Merchandise is traded. ||2||
ਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਜਨੁ ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨਾ; ਦੇਖੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਭਾਇ ॥
giaan anjan bhai bhanjanaa; dekh niranjan bhaae |
ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ-ਬੋਧ ਦਾ ਸੁਰਮਾ ਡਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ-ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The ointment of spiritual wisdom is the destroyer of fear; through love, the Pure One is seen.
ਗੁਪਤੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੁ ਸਭ ਜਾਣੀਐ; ਜੇ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਖੈ ਠਾਇ ॥
gupat pragatt sabh jaaneeai; je man raakhai tthaae |
ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਪੋਸ਼ੀਦਾ ਤੇ ਜ਼ਾਹਰਾ ਸਮੁਹ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨੂਏ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਤੇ ਕੇਂਦਰਿਤ ਰੱਖੇ।
The mysteries of the seen and the unseen are all known, if the mind is kept centered and balanced.
ਐਸਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਜੇ ਮਿਲੈ; ਤਾ ਸਹਜੇ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੩॥
aisaa satigur je milai; taa sahaje le milaae |3|
ਜੇਕਰ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ ਤਦ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਖੈਨ ਹੀ, ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
If one finds such a True Guru, the Lord is met with intuitive ease. ||3||
ਕਸਿ ਕਸਵਟੀ ਲਾਈਐ; ਪਰਖੇ ਹਿਤੁ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥
kas kasavattee laaeeai; parakhe hit chit laae |
(ਜਿਵੇ ਸੋਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਖਣ ਲਈ) ਕਸੋਟੀ ਉਤੇ ਕੱਸ ਲਾਈ ਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਤਿਵੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ) ਬੜੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਪਰਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
He draws us to His Touchstone, to test our love and consciousness.
ਖੋਟੇ. ਠਉਰ ਨ ਪਾਇਨੀ; ਖਰੇ ਖਜਾਨੈ ਪਾਇ ॥
khotte. tthaur na paaeinee; khare khajaanai paae |
ਜਾਲ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਸਲੀ ਕੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
The counterfeit have no place there, but the genuine are placed in His Treasury.
ਆਸ ਅੰਦੇਸਾ ਦੂਰਿ ਕਰਿ; ਇਉ ਮਲੁ ਜਾਇ. ਸਮਾਇ ॥੪॥
aas andesaa door kar; iau mal jaae. samaae |4|
ਆਪਣੀ ਉਮੀਦ (ਇੱਛਾ) ਤੇ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਰੇ ਕਰ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਲੀਣਤਾ ਧੋਤੀ ਜਾਏਗੀ।
Let your hopes and anxieties depart; thus pollution is washed away. ||4||
ਸੁਖ ਕਉ ਮਾਗੈ ਸਭੁ ਕੋ; ਦੁਖੁ. ਨ ਮਾਗੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
sukh kau maagai sabh ko; dukh. na maagai koe |
ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਘਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਦੀ ਯਾਚਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।
Everyone begs for happiness; no one asks for suffering.
ਸੁਖੈ ਕਉ ਦੁਖੁ ਅਗਲਾ; ਮਨਮੁਖਿ. ਬੂਝ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥
sukhai kau dukh agalaa; manamukh. boojh na hoe |
ਰਸਾਂ-ਸੁਆਦਾ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਅਤਿਅੰਤ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਆਪ-ਹੁਦਰੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦੇ।
But in the wake of happiness, there comes great suffering. The self-willed manmukhs do not understand this.
ਸੁਖ ਦੁਖ ਸਮ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਣੀਅਹਿ; ਸਬਦਿ ਭੇਦਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੫॥
sukh dukh sam kar jaaneeeh; sabad bhed sukh hoe |5|
ਜੋ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਤੇ ਗ਼ਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਸਮਾਨ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਰੱਬੀ ਠੰਢ-ਚੈਨ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who see pain and pleasure as one and the same find peace; they are pierced through by the Shabad. ||5||
ਬੇਦੁ ਪੁਕਾਰੇ ਵਾਚੀਐ; ਬਾਣੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬਿਆਸੁ ॥
bed pukaare vaacheeai; baanee braham biaas |
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਦੇ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਆਸ ਦਿਆਂ ਸ਼ਬਦਾ (ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ) ਦਾ ਪਾਠ ਪੁਕਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
The Vedas proclaim, and the words of Vyaasa tell us,
ਮੁਨਿ ਜਨ ਸੇਵਕ ਸਾਧਿਕਾ; ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਗੁਣਤਾਸੁ ॥
mun jan sevak saadhikaa; naam rate gunataas |
ਕਿ ਚੁੱਪ ਕੀਤੇ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਟਹਿਲੂਏ ਅਤੇ ਅਭਿਆਸੀ ਚੰਗਿਆਈਆਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ, ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
that the silent sages, the servants of the Lord, and those who practice a life of spiritual discipline are attuned to the Naam, the Treasure of Excellence.
ਸਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੇ ਜਿਣਿ ਗਏ; ਹਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਸੁ ॥੬॥
sach rate se jin ge; hau sad balihaarai jaas |6|
ਜੋ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਜੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਜਿੱਤ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
Those who are attuned to the True Name win the game of life; I am forever a sacrifice to them. ||6||
ਚਹੁ ਜੁਗਿ ਮੈਲੇ. ਮਲੁ ਭਰੇ; ਜਿਨ ਮੁਖਿ. ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥
chahu jug maile. mal bhare; jin mukh. naam na hoe |
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਮਲੀਣਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਰੀਪੂਰਨ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਚੌਹਾ ਹੀ ਯੁੱਗਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਲੀਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who do not have the Naam in their mouths are filled with pollution; they are filthy throughout the four ages.
ਭਗਤੀ ਭਾਇ ਵਿਹੂਣਿਆ; ਮੁਹੁ ਕਾਲਾ. ਪਤਿ ਖੋਇ ॥
bhagatee bhaae vihooniaa; muhu kaalaa. pat khoe |
ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਅਨੁਰਾਗ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਗੁਆ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਸਿਆਹ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Without loving devotion to God, their faces are blackened, and their honor is lost.
ਜਿਨੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ; ਅਵਗਣ ਮੁਠੀ ਰੋਇ ॥੭॥

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪਾਪ ਦੇ ਠੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ, ਵਿਰਲਾਪ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who have forgotten the Naam are plundered by evil; they weep and wail in dismay. ||7||
ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਪਾਇਆ; ਡਰੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
khojat khojat paaeaa; ddar kar milai milaae |
ਭਾਲਦਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਟੈਲਦਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਮੈਂ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਭੈ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਅੰਦਰ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ।
I searched and searched, and found God. In the Fear of God, I have been united in His Union.
ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਘਰਿ ਵਸੈ; ਹਉਮੈ ਤਿ੍ਰਸਨਾ ਜਾਇ ॥
aap pachhaanai ghar vasai; haumai trisanaa jaae |
ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੰਞਾਣ ਕੇ, ਇਨਸਾਨ ਆਪਦੇ ਨਿੱਜ ਦੇ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Through self-realization, people dwell within the home of their inner being; egotism and desire depart.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਊਜਲੇ; ਜੋ ਰਾਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਇ ॥੮॥੭॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਦਾਗ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਰਖਰੂ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਜੋ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਜੇ ਹਨ।
O Nanak, those who are attuned to the Name of the Lord are immaculate and radiant. ||8||7||

ਸੁਣਿ ਮਨ ਭੂਲੇ ਬਾਵਰੇ; ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੁ ॥
sun man bhoole baavare; gur kee charanee laag |
ਕੰਨ ਕਰ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਘੁੱਸੀ ਹੋਈ ਤੇ ਪਗਲੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ! ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀ ਪਉ।
Listen, O deluded and demented mind: hold tight to the Guru's Feet.
ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਤੂ; ਜਮੁ ਡਰਪੈ ਦੁਖ ਭਾਗੁ ॥
har jap naam dhiaae too; jam ddarapai dukh bhaag |
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਅਰਾਧਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ, (ਇੰਜ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ) ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਭੀ ਭੈ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੋਗ ਦੌੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Chant and meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord; death will be afraid of you, and suffering shall depart.
ਦੂਖੁ ਘਣੋ ਦੋਹਾਗਣੀ; ਕਿਉ ਥਿਰੁ ਰਹੈ ਸੁਹਾਗੁ ॥੧॥

ਬਦਕਿਸਮਤ ਵਹੁਟੀ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਉਠਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪਤੀ (ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਰ) ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੁਸਤ-ਕਿਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
The deserted wife suffers terrible pain. How can her Husband Lord remain with her forever? ||1||
