ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਫਾਹੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਪਿਆਰ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਸਾਧੂੳ!
He frees us from bondage, O Saints, and saves us from possessiveness. ||3||
ਭਏ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਠਾਕੁਰ; ਰਹਿਓ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ॥

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆਲੂ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਉਣਾ ਤੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਮੁਕ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
Becoming Merciful, my Lord and Master has ended my comings and goings in reincarnation.

ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟ ਕੇ, ਹੈ ਵੀਰ! ਮੈਂ ਜੰਮਣ ਤੇ ਮਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਢ ਸੁਟਿਆ ਹੈ।
Meeting with the humble beings, O Siblings of Destiny, the Messenger of Death is conquered.
ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਮਨਿ ਵੁਠਾ; ਹੋਆ ਖਸਮੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ॥
sachaa saahib man vutthaa; hoaa khasam deaal |
ਪਤੀ, ਸਚਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ, ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
The True Lord and Master has come to dwell within my mind; my Lord and Master has become Merciful.
ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ; ਬਿਨਸਿਆ ਸਭੁ ਜੰਜਾਲੁ ॥੧॥
pooraa satigur bhettiaa; binasiaa sabh janjaal |1|
ਮੈਂ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਬੰਧਨ ਮੁਕ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
Meeting with the Perfect True Guru, all my worldly entanglements have ended. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾ; ਹਉ. ਤੁਧੁ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ॥

ਮੇਰੇ ਸਚੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਜੀ! ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉਤੋਂ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਨੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
O my True Guru, I am a sacrifice to You.
ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਣੈ; ਤੁਸਿ ਦਿਤਾ ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਉਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਪਰਮ-ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅਮਰ ਕਰਨਹਾਰ ਨਾਮ ਬਖਸ਼ਿਆ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
I am a sacrifice to the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. By the Pleasure of Your Will, You have blessed me with the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਨ ਤੂੰ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਭਾਉ ਕਰਿ; ਸੇਈ ਪੁਰਖ ਸੁਜਾਨ ॥
jin toon seviaa bhaau kar; seee purakh sujaan |
ਸਿਆਣੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਪੁਰਸ਼, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਈ ਹੈ।
Those who have served You with love are truly wise.
ਤਿਨਾ ਪਿਛੈ ਛੁਟੀਐ; ਜਿਨ ਅੰਦਰਿ. ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥
tinaa pichhai chhutteeai; jin andar. naam nidhaan |
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਤਰ-ਆਤਮੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਖਲਾਸੀ ਪਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Those who have the Treasure of the Naam within emancipate others as well as themselves.
ਗੁਰ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਦਾਤਾ. ਕੋ ਨਹੀ; ਜਿਨਿ ਦਿਤਾ ਆਤਮ ਦਾਨੁ ॥੨॥
gur jevadd daataa. ko nahee; jin ditaa aatam daan |2|
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਜਿੱਡਾ ਵਡਾ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਰੱਬੀ ਰੂਹ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਪਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
There is no other Giver as great as the Guru, who has given the gift of the soul. ||2||
ਆਏ ਸੇ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਹਹਿ; ਜਿਨ. ਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
aae se paravaan heh; jin. gur miliaa subhaae |
ਪਰਵਾਣਿਤ ਹੈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਗਮਨ ਜੋ ਸਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟਦੇ ਹਨ।
Blessed and acclaimed is the coming of those who have met the Guru with loving faith.
ਸਚੇ ਸੇਤੀ ਰਤਿਆ; ਦਰਗਹ ਬੈਸਣੁ ਜਾਇ ॥
sache setee ratiaa; daragah baisan jaae |
ਸਚੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਜਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਇਨਸਾਨ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਬੈਠਣ ਦੀ ਜਗ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Attuned to the True One, you shall obtain a place of honor in the Court of the Lord.
ਕਰਤੇ ਹਥਿ ਵਡਿਆਈਆ; ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਪਾਇ ॥੩॥

ਚੰਗਿਆਈਆਂ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ। ਧੁਰ ਦੀ ਲਿਖਤਾਕਾਰ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Greatness is in the Hands of the Creator; it is obtained by pre-ordained destiny. ||3||
ਸਚੁ ਕਰਤਾ. ਸਚੁ ਕਰਣਹਾਰੁ; ਸਚੁ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ. ਸਚੁ ਟੇਕ ॥
sach karataa. sach karanahaar; sach saahib. sach ttek |
ਸੱਚਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦਾ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੀ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ। ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ ਆਸਰਾ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ।
True is the Creator, True is the Doer. True is our Lord and Master, and True is His Support.
ਸਚੋ ਸਚੁ ਵਖਾਣੀਐ; ਸਚੋ ਬੁਧਿ ਬਿਬੇਕ ॥
sacho sach vakhaaneeai; sacho budh bibek |
ਤੂੰ ਸਚਿਆਰਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਮ-ਸਚਿਆਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਕਰ, ਸਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ਅਕਲ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
So speak the Truest of the True. Through the True One, an intuitive and discerning mind is obtained.
ਸਰਬ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ; ਜਪਿ ਨਾਨਕ. ਜੀਵੈ ਏਕ ॥੪॥੨੮॥੯੮॥
sarab nirantar rav rahiaa; jap naanak. jeevai ek |4|28|98|
ਨਾਨਕ ਅਦੁਤੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੋ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਮ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Nanak lives by chanting and meditating on the One, who is pervading within and contained amongst all. ||4||28||98||

ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਰੂਪ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸ਼ਨਾ ਕਰ।
Worship the Guru, the Transcendent Lord, with your mind and body attuned to love.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਜੀਅ ਕਾ; ਸਭਸੈ ਦੇਇ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥
satigur daataa jeea kaa; sabhasai dee adhaar |
ਸਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਜਿੰਦ-ਜਾਨ ਬਖਸ਼ਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਸਰਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The True Guru is the Giver of the soul; He gives Support to all.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਬਚਨ ਕਮਾਵਣੇ; ਸਚਾ ਏਹੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
satigur bachan kamaavane; sachaa ehu veechaar |
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਉਤੇ ਅਮਲ ਕਰ, ਨਿਰਸੰਦੇਹ ਇਹ ਸੱਚਾ ਤੱਤ-ਗਿਆਨ ਹੈ।
Act according to the Instructions of the True Guru; this is the true philosophy.
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਰਤਿਆ; ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਸਭੁ ਛਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
bin saadhoo sangat ratiaa; maaeaa mohu sabh chhaar |1|
ਸਤਿਸੰਸਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਜੇ ਜਾਣ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਧਨ-ਦੌਲਤ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਲਗਨ ਸੁਆਹ ਵਰਗੀ ਹੈ।
Without being attuned to the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, all attachment to Maya is just dust. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਜਨ; ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲਿ ॥

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਤੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ।
O my friend, reflect upon the Name of the Lord, Har, Har
ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ; ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਵੈ ਘਾਲ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saadhoo sangat man vasai; pooran hovai ghaal |1| rahaau |
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
. In the Saadh Sangat, He dwells within the mind, and one's works are brought to perfect fruition. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰੁ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ਗੁਰੁ; ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
gur samarath apaar gur; vaddabhaagee darasan hoe |
ਗੁਰੂ ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਾਨ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੀ ਬੇਅੰਤ। ਭਾਰੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਨਸੀਬਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Guru is All-powerful, the Guru is Infinite. By great good fortune, the Blessed Vision of His Darshan is obtained.
ਗੁਰੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ; ਗੁਰ ਜੇਵਡੁ. ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
gur agochar niramalaa; gur jevadd. avar na koe |
ਸੋਚ ਸਮਝ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇਡੇ ਅਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੈ ਗੁਰੂ। ਗੁਰੂ ਜਿੱਡਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ।
The Guru is Imperceptible, Immaculate and Pure. There is no other as great as the Guru.
ਗੁਰੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਕਰਣਹਾਰੁ; ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਚੀ ਸੋਇ ॥
gur karataa gur karanahaar; guramukh sachee soe |
ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਹੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਬਜੁਰਗੀ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
The Guru is the Creator, the Guru is the Doer. The Gurmukh obtains true glory.
ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਹੀ; ਗੁਰੁ ਕੀਤਾ ਲੋੜੇ ਸੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥
gur te baahar kichh nahee; gur keetaa lorre su hoe |2|
ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਗੁਰਾਂ (ਦੇ ਅਖਤਿਆਰ) ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਹੀਂ। ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Nothing is beyond the Guru; whatever He wishes comes to pass. ||2||
ਗੁਰੁ ਤੀਰਥੁ. ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਰਜਾਤੁ; ਗੁਰੁ. ਮਨਸਾ ਪੂਰਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
gur teerath. gur paarajaat; gur. manasaa pooranahaar |
ਗੁਰੂ ਯਾਤ੍ਰਾ-ਅਸਥਾਨ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਕਲਪ-ਬਿਰਛ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੀ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ।
The Guru is the Sacred Shrine of Pilgrimage, the Guru is the Wish-fulfilling Elysian Tree.
ਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਇ; ਉਧਰੈ ਸਭੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
gur daataa har naam dee; udharai sabh sansaar |
ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਾਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Guru is the Fulfiller of the desires of the mind. The Guru is the Giver of the Name of the Lord, by which all the world is saved.
ਗੁਰੁ ਸਮਰਥੁ. ਗੁਰੁ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ; ਗੁਰੁ. ਊਚਾ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥
gur samarath. gur nirankaar; gur. aoochaa agam apaar |
ਗੁਰੂ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ ਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਆਕਾਰ-ਰਹਿਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਬੁਲੰਦ, ਅਥਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਹਦਬੰਨਾ-ਰਹਿਤ ਹੈ।
The Guru is All-powerful, the Guru is Formless; the Guru is Lofty, Inaccessible and Infinite.
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਅਗਮ ਹੈ; ਕਿਆ ਕਥੇ ਕਥਨਹਾਰੁ ॥੩॥
gur kee mahimaa agam hai; kiaa kathe kathanahaar |3|
ਅਕਹਿ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਪਮਾ। ਆਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਕੀ ਆਖ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
The Praise of the Guru is so sublime-what can any speaker say? ||3||
ਜਿਤੜੇ ਫਲ. ਮਨਿ ਬਾਛੀਅਹਿ; ਤਿਤੜੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
jitarre fal. man baachheeeh; titarre satigur paas |
ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ (ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ) ਐਨ ਇਵਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹੇ ਦਿਲ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
All the rewards which the mind desires are with the True Guru.
ਪੂਰਬ ਲਿਖੇ ਪਾਵਣੇ; ਸਾਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇ ਰਾਸਿ ॥
poorab likhe paavane; saach naam de raas |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਜੋ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਧਨ ਦੇ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਹਨ, ਐਸੇ ਫਲ ਉਹ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਧੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
One whose destiny is so pre-ordained, obtains the Wealth of the True Name.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਰਣੀ ਆਇਆਂ; ਬਾਹੁੜਿ ਨਹੀ ਬਿਨਾਸੁ ॥
satigur saranee aaeaan; baahurr nahee binaas |
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਣਾਗਤ ਸੰਭਾਲਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਤੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰੇਗਾ!
Entering the Sanctuary of the True Guru, you shall never die again.

ਇਹ ਆਤਮਾ, ਦੇਹਿ ਤੇ ਸੁਆਸ ਤੇਰੇ ਹਨ, ਹੈ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! ਰੱਬ ਕਰੇ, ਨਾਨਕ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਦਾਚਿੱਤ ਨਾਂ ਭੁੱਲੇ।

ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਕਰੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ, ਹੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਜਨੋ! ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਾਓ, ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਬੰਦ ਖਲਾਸ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਹੈ।

ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਸਰੇਵਣੇ; ਤੀਰਥ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ॥

ਤੁਸੀਂ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸ਼ਨਾ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਯਾਤ੍ਰਾ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਜਾਣੋ।
Worship the Feet of the Guru. Let the Name of the Lord be your sacred shrine of pilgrimage.
ਆਗੈ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਮੰਨੀਅਹਿ; ਮਿਲੈ ਨਿਥਾਵੇ ਥਾਉ ॥੧॥

ਅਗੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ, ਜਿਥੇ ਬੇ-ਟਿਕਾਣਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਇਜ਼ਤ-ਆਬਰੂ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।
Hereafter, you shall be honored in the Court of the Lord; there, even the homeless find a home. ||1||
