ਸੰਤਾ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ; ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਬਖਸਿੰਦੁ ॥
santaa sangat man vasai; prabh preetam bakhasind |
ਸਾਧ-ਸੰਗਤ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਾਫ਼ੀ ਦੇਣਹਾਰ, ਪਿਆਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
In the Society of the Saints, God, the Beloved, the Forgiver, comes to dwell within the mind.
ਜਿਨਿ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਣਾ; ਸੋਈ ਰਾਜ ਨਰਿੰਦੁ ॥੨॥
jin seviaa prabh aapanaa; soee raaj narind |2|
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹਾਂ) ਨਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੈ।
One who has served his God is the emperor of kings||2||
ਅਉਸਰਿ. ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਗੁਣ ਰਮਣ ਜਿਤੁ; ਕੋਟਿ ਮਜਨ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ॥

ਇਹ ਹੈ ਸਮਾਂ ਵਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗੀਆਂ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਟੁਭੇ ਲਾਉਣ ਤੇ ਨ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
This is the time to speak and sing the Praise and the Glory of God, which brings the merit of millions of cleansing and purifying baths.
ਰਸਨਾ ਉਚਰੈ ਗੁਣਵਤੀ; ਕੋਇ ਨ ਪੁਜੈ ਦਾਨੁ ॥
rasanaa ucharai gunavatee; koe na pujai daan |
ਗੁਣਾ ਵਾਲੀ ਜਿਹਭਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਬੋਲਦੀ ਹੈ। ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਖ਼ੈਰਾਤ ਇਸ ਤੁਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਅੱਪੜਦੀ।
The tongue which chants these Praises is worthy; there is no charity equal to this.
ਦਿ੍ਰਸਟਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਵਸੈ; ਦਇਆਲ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨੁ ॥
drisatt dhaar man tan vasai; deaal purakh miharavaan |
ਆਪਣੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਦੀ ਨਿਗ੍ਹਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੂ ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਮਇਆਵਾਨ ਮਾਲਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
Blessing us with His Glance of Grace, the Kind and Compassionate, All-powerful Lord comes to dwell within the mind and body.
ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਧਨੁ ਤਿਸ ਦਾ; ਹਉ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੁ ॥੩॥
jeeo pindd dhan tis daa; hau sadaa sadaa kurabaan |3|
ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ-ਜਾਨ, ਦੇਹਿ ਤੇ ਦੌਲਤ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ, ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਉਤੋਂ ਘੋਲੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
My soul, body and wealth are His. Forever and ever, I am a sacrifice to Him. ||3||
ਮਿਲਿਆ. ਕਦੇ ਨ ਵਿਛੁੜੈ; ਜੋ ਮੇਲਿਆ ਕਰਤਾਰਿ ॥
miliaa. kade na vichhurrai; jo meliaa karataar |
ਜੁੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਜਨਹਾਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਕਦਾਚਿੱਤ ਜੁਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।
One whom the Creator Lord has met and joined to Himself shall never again be separated.
ਦਾਸਾ ਕੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਕਟਿਆ; ਸਾਚੈ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰਿ ॥
daasaa ke bandhan kattiaa; saachai sirajanahaar |
ਸੱਚੇ ਸਾਜਣ-ਵਾਲੇ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੇੜੀਆਂ ਵੱਢ ਛੱਡੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
The True Creator Lord breaks the bonds of His slave.
ਭੂਲਾ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਾਇਓਨੁ; ਗੁਣ ਅਵਗੁਣ ਨ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
bhoolaa maarag paaeon; gun avagun na beechaar |
ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਭਲਿਆਈਆਂ ਤੇ ਬੁਰਿਆਈਆਂ ਦਾ ਖਿਆਲ ਨਾਂ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਸਾਈਂ ਨੇ ਘੁੱਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਨੂੰ ਠੀਕ ਰਾਹੇ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
The doubter has been put back on the path; his merits and demerits have not been considered.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਤਿਸੁ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ; ਜਿ ਸਗਲ ਘਟਾ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥੪॥੧੮॥੮੮॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਣ ਸੰਭਾਲੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।
Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of the One who is the Support of every heart. ||4||18||88||

ਰਸਨਾ ਸਚਾ ਸਿਮਰੀਐ; ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
rasanaa sachaa simareeai; man tan niramal hoe |
(ਆਪਣੀ) ਜੀਭਾ ਨਾਲ ਸੱਚੇ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਕਰ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ (ਤੇਰੀ) ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ।
With your tongue, repeat the True Name, and your mind and body shall become pure.
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਸਾਕ ਅਗਲੇ; ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ. ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
maat pitaa saak agale; tis bin. avar na koe |
ਉਸ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਅੰਮੜੀ, ਬਾਬਲ ਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਨਬੰਧੀਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਤੇਰੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਣਾ।
Your mother and father and all your relations-without Him, there are none at all.
ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੇ ਜੇ ਆਪਣੀ; ਚਸਾ. ਨ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥
mihar kare je aapanee; chasaa. na visarai soe |1|
ਜੇਕਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਧਾਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਆਦਮੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਮੁਹਤ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁਲਦਾ।
If God Himself bestows His Mercy, then He is not forgotten, even for an instant. ||1||
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ. ਸਾਚਾ ਸੇਵਿ; ਜਿਚਰੁ ਸਾਸੁ ॥
man mere. saachaa sev; jichar saas |
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨੂਏ! ਜਦ ਤੋੜੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਸ (ਜਿੰਦ-ਜਾਨ) ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਿਦਮਤ ਕਰ।
O my mind, serve the True One, as long as you have the breath of life.
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਚੇ. ਸਭ ਕੂੜੁ ਹੈ; ਅੰਤੇ ਹੋਇ ਬਿਨਾਸੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bin sache. sabh koorr hai; ante hoe binaas |1| rahaau |
ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਦੇ ਬਗ਼ੈਰ ਹੋਰ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਝੂਠ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅਖ਼ੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਏਗਾ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
Without the True One, everything is false; in the end, all shall perish. ||1||Pause||
ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ; ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ. ਰਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
saahib meraa niramalaa; tis bin. rehan na jaae |
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪਵਿਤਰ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਮੈਂ ਰਹਿ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
My Lord and Master is Immaculate and Pure; without Him, I cannot even survive.
ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਭੁਖ. ਅਤਿ ਅਗਲੀ; ਕੋਈ ਆਣਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਮਾਇ ॥
merai man tan bhukh. at agalee; koee aan milaavai maae |
ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਲਈ ਪਰਮ ਭਾਰੀ ਖੁਦਿਆ (ਤਾਂਘ) ਹੈ। ਕੋਈ ਆ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇਵੇ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਤਾ।
Within my mind and body, there is such a great hunger; if only someone would come and unite me with Him, O my mother!
ਚਾਰੇ ਕੁੰਡਾ ਭਾਲੀਆ; ਸਹ ਬਿਨੁ. ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥੨॥
chaare kunddaa bhaaleea; seh bin. avar na jaae |2|
ਮੈਂ ਚਾਰੇ ਪਾਸੀਂ ਢੂੰਡ-ਭਾਲ ਕਰ ਲਈ ਹੈ। ਕੰਤ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਆਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ।
I have searched the four corners of the world-without our Husband Lord, there is no other place of rest. ||2||
ਤਿਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਕਰਿ; ਜੋ ਮੇਲੇ ਕਰਤਾਰੁ ॥
tis aagai aradaas kar; jo mele karataar |
ਕਿਸ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੂਹਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇਵੇ।
Offer your prayers to Him, who shall unite you with the Creator.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਨਾਮ ਕਾ; ਪੂਰਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਭੰਡਾਰੁ ॥
satigur daataa naam kaa; pooraa jis bhanddaar |
(ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ) ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਸੱਚਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਲਬਾਲਬ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ।
The True Guru is the Giver of the Naam; His Treasure is perfect and overflowing.
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਾਲਾਹੀਐ; ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰੁ ॥੩॥
sadaa sadaa saalaaheeai; ant na paaraavaar |3|
ਸਦੀਵ ਤੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪਰਸੰਸਾ ਕਰ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਓੜਕ ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਕਿਨਾਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
Forever and ever, praise the One, who has no end or limitation. ||3||
ਪਰਵਦਗਾਰੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀਐ; ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਚਲਤ ਅਨੇਕ ॥
paravadagaar saalaaheeai; jis de chalat anek |
ਪਾਲਣ-ਪੋਸਣ-ਹਾਰ ਦੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰ, ਘਨੇਰੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਅਦਭੁਤ ਕਉਤਕ।
Praise God, the Nurturer and Cherisher; His Wondrous Ways are unlimited.
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਆਰਾਧੀਐ; ਏਹਾ ਮਤਿ ਵਿਸੇਖ ॥
sadaa sadaa aaraadheeai; ehaa mat visekh |
ਸਦੀਵ ਸਦੀਵ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ। ਕੇਵਲ ਏਹੀ ਪਰਮ ਸਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਹੈ।
Forever and ever, worship and adore Him; this is the most wonderful wisdom.
ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਮਿਠਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਲਗੈ; ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ. ਨਾਨਕ ਲੇਖ ॥੪॥੧੯॥੮੯॥
man tan mitthaa tis lagai; jis masatak. naanak lekh |4|19|89|
ਨਾਨਕ, ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਠੜਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਖੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
O Nanak, God's Flavor is sweet to the minds and bodies of those who have such blessed destiny written on their foreheads. ||4||19||89||

ਹੇ ਭਰਾਓ! ਨੇਕ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਅਰਾਧਨ ਕਰੋ।
Meet with the humble Saints, O Siblings of Destiny, and contemplate the True Name.
ਤੋਸਾ ਬੰਧਹੁ ਜੀਅ ਕਾ; ਐਥੈ ਓਥੈ ਨਾਲਿ ॥
tosaa bandhahu jeea kaa; aithai othai naal |
ਆਪਣੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਲਈ ਤੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਫ਼ਰ-ਖ਼ਰਚ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ (ਜਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰ) ਜਿਹੜਾ ਏਥੇ ਤੇ ਏਥੋਂ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਥ ਹੋਏਗਾ।
For the journey of the soul, gather those supplies which will go with you here and hereafter.
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਐ; ਅਪਣੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲਿ ॥
gur poore te paaeeai; apanee nadar nihaal |
ਜੇਕਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਤੱਕੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਇਹ (ਸਫ਼ਰ-ਖਰਚ) ਪਾ ਲਵੇਗਾ।
These are obtained from the Perfect Guru, when God bestows His Glance of Grace.
ਕਰਮਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਹੋਵੈ; ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਹੋਇ ਦਇਆਲੁ ॥੧॥
karam paraapat tis hovai; jis no hoe deaal |1|
ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦਾ ਪਾਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Those unto whom He is Merciful, receive His Grace. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ; ਗੁਰ ਜੇਵਡੁ. ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
mere man; gur jevadd. avar na koe |
ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ! ਗੁਰਾਂ ਜਿੱਡਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ।
O my mind, there is no other as great as the Guru.
ਦੂਜਾ ਥਾਉ. ਨ ਕੋ ਸੁਝੈ; ਗੁਰ ਮੇਲੇ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
doojaa thaau. na ko sujhai; gur mele sach soe |1| rahaau |
ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰਸ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਦਾ ਖਿਆਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ। ਕੇਵਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
I cannot imagine any other place. The Guru leads me to meet the True Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਸਗਲ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਿਲੇ; ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਡਿਠਾ ਜਾਇ ॥
sagal padaarath tis mile; jin gur dditthaa jaae |
ਜੋ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਧਨ-ਦੌਲਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
Those who go to see the Guru obtain all treasures.
ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ. ਜਿਨ ਮਨੁ ਲਗਾ; ਸੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਮਾਇ ॥
gur charanee. jin man lagaa; se vaddabhaagee maae |
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਤਾ! ਭਾਰੇ ਨਸੀਬਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨੂਆ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਹੈ।
Those whose minds are attached to the Guru's Feet are very fortunate, O my mother.
ਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ. ਸਮਰਥੁ ਗੁਰੁ; ਗੁਰੁ. ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
gur daataa. samarath gur; gur. sabh meh rahiaa samaae |
ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਹਨ, ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਹੀ ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀ-ਵਾਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਹੀ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹਨ।
The Guru is the Giver, the Guru is All-powerful. The Guru is All-pervading, contained amongst all.
ਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ; ਗੁਰੁ. ਡੁਬਦਾ ਲਏ ਤਰਾਇ ॥੨॥

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਅਤੇ ਉਤਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਤ ਮਾਲਕ ਹਨ। ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਡੁਬਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The Guru is the Transcendent Lord, the Supreme Lord God. The Guru lifts up and saves those who are drowning. ||2||
ਕਿਤੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀਐ; ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥੁ ॥
kit mukh gur saalaaheeai; karan kaaran samarath |
ਮੈਂ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਾਰੀਫ ਕਰਾਂ, ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨੇਪਰੇ ਚਾੜ੍ਹਨ ਯੋਗ ਹਨ।
How shall I praise the Guru, the All-powerful Cause of causes?
ਸੇ ਮਥੇ ਨਿਹਚਲ ਰਹੇ; ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰਿ ਧਾਰਿਆ ਹਥੁ ॥
se mathe nihachal rahe; jin gur dhaariaa hath |
ਸਦੀਵੀ ਸਥਿਰ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਮਸਤਕ (ਬੰਦੇ) ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਰਖਿਆ ਹੈ।
Those, upon whose foreheads the Guru has placed His Hand, remain steady and stable.
ਗੁਰਿ. ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਪੀਆਲਿਆ; ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਕਾ ਪਥੁ ॥
gur. amrit naam peeaaliaa; janam maran kaa path |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜੰਮਣ ਤੇ ਮਰਣ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨਹਾਰ ਸੁਧਾ-ਸਰੂਪ ਨਾਮ ਪਾਨ ਕਰਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
The Guru has led me to drink in the Ambrosial Nectar of the Naam, the Name of the Lord; He has released me from the cycle of birth and death.
ਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਸੇਵਿਆ; ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਦੁਖ ਲਥੁ ॥੩॥
gur paramesar seviaa; bhai bhanjan dukh lath |3|
ਮੈਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਰੂਪ ਤੇ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨਹਾਰ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਨਵਿਰਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
I serve the Guru, the Transcendent Lord, the Dispeller of fear; my suffering has been taken away. ||3||
