ਐਥੈ ਮਿਲਹਿ ਵਡਾਈਆ; ਦਰਗਹਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਥਾਉ ॥੩॥
aithai mileh vaddaaeea; darageh paaveh thaau |3|
ਤੈਨੂੰ ਏਥੇ ਮਾਣ-ਪ੍ਰਤਿਸ਼ਟਾ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੂੰ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਪਾ ਲਵੇਗਾ।
In this world you shall be blessed with greatness, and in the Court of the Lord you shall find your place of rest. ||3||
ਕਰੇ ਕਰਾਏ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ; ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਹਾਥਿ ॥
kare karaae aap prabh; sabh kichh tis hee haath |
ਸਾਹਿਬ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਤੇ ਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਝ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ।
God Himself acts, and causes others to act; everything is in His Hands.
ਮਾਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਜੀਵਾਲਦਾ; ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਸਾਥਿ ॥
maar aape jeevaaladaa; antar baahar saath |
ਉਹ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਹੀ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਤੇ ਜਿਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅੰਦਰ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰਵਾਰ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ।
He Himself bestows life and death; He is with us, within and beyond.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ; ਸਰਬ ਘਟਾ ਕੇ ਨਾਥ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੮੫॥

ਸਰਣਿ ਪਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਪਣੇ; ਗੁਰੁ ਹੋਆ ਕਿਰਪਾਲੁ ॥
saran pe prabh aapane; gur hoaa kirapaal |
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
The Guru is Merciful; we seek the Sanctuary of God.
ਸਤਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਉਪਦੇਸਿਐ; ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸਰਬ ਜੰਜਾਲ ॥
satagur kai upadesiai; binase sarab janjaal |
ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਖਿਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਮੂਹ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਅਲਸੇਟੇ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Through the Teachings of the True Guru, all worldly entanglements are eliminated.
ਅੰਦਰੁ ਲਗਾ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ; ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲੁ ॥੧॥

ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੁਭ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਆਬਿ-ਹਿਯਾਤੀ ਨਿਗ੍ਹਾ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮ-ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
The Name of the Lord is firmly implanted within my mind; through His Ambrosial Glance of Grace, I am exalted and enraptured. ||1||
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ; ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਾਰੁ ॥
man mere; satigur sevaa saar |
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ! ਤੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੰਭਾਲ।
O my mind, serve the True Guru.
ਕਰੇ ਦਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਣੀ; ਇਕ ਨਿਮਖ. ਨ ਮਨਹੁ ਵਿਸਾਰੁ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kare deaa prabh aapanee; ik nimakh. na manahu visaar | rahaau |
ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਮੁਹਤ ਭਰ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਨਾਂ ਭੁਲਾ। ਤਦ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਨਿਛਾਵਰ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
God Himself grants His Grace; do not forget Him, even for an instant. ||Pause||
ਗੁਣ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਨਿਤ ਗਾਵੀਅਹਿ; ਅਵਗੁਣ ਕਟਣਹਾਰ ॥
gun govind nit gaaveeeh; avagun kattanahaar |
ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰ, ਜੋ ਬਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
Continually sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe, the Destroyer of demerits.
ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ. ਨ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ; ਕਰਿ ਡਿਠੇ ਬਿਸਥਾਰ ॥
bin har naam. na sukh hoe; kar dditthe bisathaar |
ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਠੰਢ-ਚੈਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਦੀ। ਕਈ ਅਡੰਬਰ ਰਚ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਸਾਬਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
Without the Name of the Lord, there is no peace. Having tried all sorts of ostentatious displays, I have come to see this.
ਸਹਜੇ ਸਿਫਤੀ ਰਤਿਆ; ਭਵਜਲੁ ਉਤਰੇ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੨॥
sahaje sifatee ratiaa; bhavajal utare paar |2|
ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੇ ਜਾਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਤਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Intuitively imbued with His Praises, one is saved, crossing over the terrifying world-ocean. ||2||
ਤੀਰਥ ਵਰਤ ਲਖ ਸੰਜਮਾ; ਪਾਈਐ ਸਾਧੂ ਧੂਰਿ ॥
teerath varat lakh sanjamaa; paaeeai saadhoo dhoor |
ਲੱਖ ਯਾਤਰਾ, ਵਰਤਾ ਤੇ ਦਮਕਾ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਕ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The merits of pilgrimages, fasts and hundreds of thousands of techniques of austere self-discipline are found in the dust of the feet of the Holy.
ਲੂਕਿ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਕਿਸ ਤੇ; ਜਾ ਵੇਖੈ ਸਦਾ ਹਦੂਰਿ ॥
look kamaavai kis te; jaa vekhai sadaa hadoor |
ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਅਮਲ ਕਿਸ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਛੁਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦ ਕਿ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਨਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੇਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
From whom are you trying to hide your actions? God sees all;
ਥਾਨ ਥਨੰਤਰਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ; ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥੩॥

ਮੇਰਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਬਾ-ਲਬ ਭਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਮ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
He is Ever-present. My God is totally pervading all places and interspaces. ||3||
ਸਚੁ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੀ ਅਮਰੁ ਸਚੁ; ਸਚੇ ਸਚਾ ਥਾਨੁ ॥
sach paatisaahee amar sach; sache sachaa thaan |
ਸੱਚੀ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹੀ, ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮ-ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਅਸਥਾਨ।
True is His Empire, and True is His Command. True is His Seat of True Authority.
ਸਚੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਧਾਰੀਅਨੁ; ਸਚਿ ਸਿਰਜਿਓਨੁ ਜਹਾਨੁ ॥
sachee kudarat dhaareean; sach sirajion jahaan |
ਸੱਚੀ ਹੈ ਅਪਾਰ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਰਚੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਜਿਆ ਹੈ।
True is the Creative Power which He has created. True is the world which He has fashioned.
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਪੀਐ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ; ਹਉ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੁ ॥੪॥੧੬॥੮੬॥
naanak japeeai sach naam; hau sadaa sadaa kurabaan |4|16|86|
ਨਾਨਕ, ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਠ, ਜਿਸ ਉਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਸਦੀਵ ਤੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਲਈ ਘੋਲੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
O Nanak, chant the True Name; I am forever and ever a sacrifice to Him. ||4||16||86||

audam kar har jaapanaa; vaddabhaagee dhan khaatt |
ਹੇ ਭਾਰੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ! ਤੂੰ ਉਪਰਾਲਾ ਕਰ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਅਰਾਧ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਦੀ ਖੱਟੀ ਖੱਟ।
Make the effort, and chant the Lord's Name. O very fortunate ones, earn this wealth.
ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਣਾ; ਮਲੁ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੀ ਕਾਟਿ ॥੧॥
santasang har simaranaa; mal janam janam kee kaatt |1|
ਸਾਧ-ਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੰਦਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਹ ਸੁੱਟ।
In the Society of the Saints, meditate in remembrance on the Lord, and wash off the filth of countless incarnations. ||1||
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ; ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਜਾਪੁ ॥
man mere; raam naam jap jaap |
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ! ਵਿਆਪਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਅਖ਼ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰ।
O my mind, chant and meditate on the Name of the Lord.
ਮਨ ਇਛੇ ਫਲ ਭੁੰਚਿ ਤੂ; ਸਭੁ ਚੂਕੈ ਸੋਗੁ ਸੰਤਾਪੁ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
man ichhe fal bhunch too; sabh chookai sog santaap | rahaau |
ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ-ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਫਲ ਖਾਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਗ਼ਮ ਤੇ ਦੁਖੜੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
Enjoy the fruits of your mind's desires; all suffering and sorrow shall depart. ||Pause||
ਜਿਸੁ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਤਨੁ ਧਾਰਿਆ; ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਡਿਠਾ ਨਾਲਿ ॥
jis kaaran tan dhaariaa; so prabh dditthaa naal |
ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਥ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਲਣ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਦੇਹਿ ਅਖ਼ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ।
For His sake, you assumed this body; see God always with you.
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਪੂਰਿਆ; ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਣੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲਿ ॥੨॥
jal thal maheeal pooriaa; prabh aapanee nadar nihaal |2|
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਜਲ ਵਿੱਚ, ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ, ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ, ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈ (ਸਭ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
God is pervading the water, the land and the sky; He sees all with His Glance of Grace. ||2||
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਇਆ; ਲਾਗੀ ਸਾਚੁ ਪਰੀਤਿ ॥
man tan niramal hoeaa; laagee saach pareet |
ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਰਹੜੀ ਪਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
The mind and body become spotlessly pure, enshrining love for the True Lord.
ਚਰਣ ਭਜੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੇ; ਸਭਿ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਕੀਤਿ ॥੩॥
charan bhaje paarabraham ke; sabh jap tap tin hee keet |3|
ਜੋ ਉੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਾਨੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਉਪਾਸ਼ਨਾ ਤੇ ਤਪੱਸਿਆ ਕਰ ਲਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
One who dwells upon the Feet of the Supreme Lord God has truly performed all meditations and austerities. ||3||
ਰਤਨ ਜਵੇਹਰ ਮਾਣਿਕਾ; ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ॥
ratan javehar maanikaa; amrit har kaa naau |
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਬਿ-ਹਿਯਾਤ, ਹੀਰੇ, ਲਾਲ ਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਵੱਤ ਹੈ।
The Ambrosial Name of the Lord is a Gem, a Jewel, a Pearl.
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ਰਸ; ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ. ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥੪॥੧੭॥੮੭॥
sookh sehaj aanand ras; jan naanak. har gun gaau |4|17|87|
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਹੇ ਨਫ਼ਰ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਜੌਹਰ ਬੈਕੁੰਠੀ ਪਰਮ ਅਨੰਦ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The essence of intuitive peace and bliss is obtained, O servant Nanak, by singing the Glories of God. ||4||17||87||

ਉਹੀ ਧਾਰਮਕ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਹੀ ਸੁੱਭ ਸ਼ਗਨ, ਜਿਸ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ।
That is the essence of the scriptures, and that is a good omen, by which one comes to chant the Name of the Lord.
ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਗੁਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਦੀਆ; ਮਿਲਿਆ ਨਿਥਾਵੇ ਥਾਉ ॥

ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਕੰਵਲ ਰੂਪੀ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਟਿਕਾਣੇ-ਰਹਿਤ ਨੂੰ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
The Guru has given me the Wealth of the Lotus Feet of the Lord, and I, without shelter, have now obtained Shelter.
ਸਾਚੀ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਸਚੁ ਸੰਜਮੋ; ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥
saachee poonjee sach sanjamo; aatth pehar gun gaau |
ਸੱਚੀ ਰਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਰਹਿਣੀ-ਬਹਿਣੀ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
The True Capital, and the True Way of Life, comes by chanting His Glories, twenty-four hours a day.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ; ਮਰਣੁ ਨ ਆਵਣੁ ਜਾਉ ॥੧॥
kar kirapaa prabh bhettiaa; maran na aavan jaau |1|
ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਮਿਹਰ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਮਰਦਾ, ਆਉਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
Granting His Grace, God meets us, and we no longer die, or come or go in reincarnation. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ. ਹਰਿ ਭਜੁ; ਸਦਾ ਇਕ ਰੰਗਿ ॥
mere man. har bhaj; sadaa ik rang |

ਜਿਨ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਸੇ ਤਿ੍ਰਪਤਾਸਿਆ; ਉਹ ਰਸੁ ਜਾਣੈ ਜਿੰਦੁ ॥

ਜੋ ਨਾਮ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਧ੍ਰਾਪ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕੇਵਲ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ।
