ਸਤਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ. ਸਦ ਭੈ ਰਚੈ; ਆਪਿ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੧॥
satagur miliai. sad bhai rachai; aap vasai man aae |1|
ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਮਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਆਪੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Meeting the True Guru, one is permeated forever with the Fear of God, who Himself comes to dwell within the mind. ||1||
ਭਾਈ ਰੇ; ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝੈ ਕੋਇ ॥

ਹੇ ਵੀਰ! ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Siblings of Destiny, one who becomes Gurmukh and understands this is very rare.
ਬਿਨੁ ਬੂਝੇ. ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵਣੇ; ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਖੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਅਸਲੀਅਤ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਕਾਰ-ਵਿਹਾਰ ਨਜਿਠਣੇ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
To act without understanding is to lose the treasure of this human life. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਨੀ ਚਾਖਿਆ. ਤਿਨੀ ਸਾਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ; ਬਿਨੁ ਚਾਖੇ. ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਇ ॥
jinee chaakhiaa. tinee saad paaeaa; bin chaakhe. bharam bhulaae |
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਾਮ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਖਣ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਵਹਿਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who have tasted it, enjoy its flavor; without tasting it, they wander in doubt, lost and deceived.
ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ; ਕਹਣਾ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
amrit saachaa naam hai; kahanaa kachhoo na jaae |
ਆਬਿ-ਹਿਯਾਤ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਜੀਵ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖ ਸਕਦਾ।
The True Name is the Ambrosial Nectar; no one can describe it.
ਪੀਵਤ ਹੂ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਭਇਆ; ਪੂਰੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੨॥
peevat hoo paravaan bheaa; poorai sabad samaae |2|
ਨਾਮ ਸੁਧਾ-ਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਾਰ ਹੀ ਆਦਮੀ ਕਬੂਲ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Drinking it in, one becomes honorable, absorbed in the Perfect Word of the Shabad. ||2||
ਆਪੇ ਦੇਇ. ਤ ਪਾਈਐ; ਹੋਰੁ. ਕਰਣਾ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
aape dee. ta paaeeai; hor. karanaa kichhoo na jaae |
ਜੇਕਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦੇਵੇ, ਤਦ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੋਰਸ- ਉਪਾਓ ਕੀਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
He Himself gives, and then we receive. Nothing else can be done.
ਦੇਵਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੈ ਹਥਿ ਦਾਤਿ ਹੈ; ਗੁਰੂ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਪਾਇ ॥
devan vaale kai hath daat hai; guroo duaarai paae |
ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ ਦਾਤੇ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੂਹੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
The Gift is in the Hands of the Great Giver. At the Guru's Door, in the Gurdwara, it is received.
ਜੇਹਾ ਕੀਤੋਨੁ. ਤੇਹਾ ਹੋਆ; ਜੇਹੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਇ ॥੩॥
jehaa keeton. tehaa hoaa; jehe karam kamaae |3|
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਅਮਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਕਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Whatever He does, comes to pass. All act according to His Will. ||3||
ਜਤੁ ਸਤੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ; ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ. ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥
jat sat sanjam naam hai; vin naavai. niramal na hoe |
ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ ਚਰਜ, ਸਚਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਸਵੈ-ਰੋਕ ਥਾਮ ਸਮੂਹ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ। ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਬੇ-ਦਾਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is abstinence, truthfulness, and self-restraint. Without the Name, no one becomes pure.
ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ. ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ; ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਇ ॥

ਪੂਰਨ ਚੰਗੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Through perfect good fortune, the Naam comes to abide within the mind. Through the Shabad, we merge into Him.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਸਹਜੇ ਹੀ ਰੰਗਿ ਵਰਤਦਾ; ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਪਾਵੈ ਸੋਇ ॥੪॥੧੭॥੫੦॥

ਨਾਨਕ, ਜੋ ਨਿਰਯਤਨ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, one who lives in intuitive peace and poise, imbued with the Lord's Love, obtains the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||4||17||50||

Siree Raag, Third Mehl:
ਕਾਂਇਆ ਸਾਧੈ. ਉਰਧ ਤਪੁ ਕਰੈ; ਵਿਚਹੁ ਹਉਮੈ. ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
kaaneaa saadhai. uradh tap karai; vichahu haumai. na jaae |
ਆਦਮੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਦੇਹਿ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਖ ਦੇਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੂਧਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਤਪੱਸਿਆ ਕਰੇ, ਉਸਦਾ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ।
You may torment your body with extremes of self-discipline, practice intensive meditation and hang upside-down, but your ego will not be eliminated from within.
ਅਧਿਆਤਮ ਕਰਮ ਜੇ ਕਰੇ; ਨਾਮੁ. ਨ ਕਬ ਹੀ ਪਾਇ ॥
adhiaatam karam je kare; naam. na kab hee paae |
ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਬਨਾਵਟੀ ਰੂਹਾਨੀ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ ਕਰੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਕਦਾਚਿੱਤ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣਾ।
You may perform religious rituals, and still never obtain the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਜੀਵਤੁ ਮਰੈ; ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੧॥
gur kai sabad jeevat marai; har naam vasai man aae |1|
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਤਰ-ਆਤਮੇ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਤਾਬੇ, ਜੀਉਂਦੇ ਜੀ ਮਰਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, remain dead while yet alive, and the Name of the Lord shall come to dwell within the mind. ||1||
ਸੁਣਿ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ; ਭਜੁ ਸਤਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਾ ॥
sun man mere; bhaj satagur saranaa |
ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਕਰ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ! ਤੂੰ ਦੌੜ ਕੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਣਾਗਤ ਸੰਭਾਲ।
Listen, O my mind: hurry to the Protection of the Guru's Sanctuary.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਛੁਟੀਐ; ਬਿਖੁ ਭਵਜਲੁ. ਸਬਦਿ ਗੁਰ ਤਰਣਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur parasaadee chhutteeai; bikh bhavajal. sabad gur taranaa |1| rahaau |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਸਦਕਾ, ਤੂੰ ਸੁਰਖਰੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਤੂੰ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
By Guru's Grace you shall be saved. Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, you shall cross over the terrifying world-ocean of poison. ||1||Pause||
ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਸਭਾ ਧਾਤੁ ਹੈ; ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ਵਿਕਾਰੁ ॥
trai gun sabhaa dhaat hai; doojaa bhaau vikaar |
ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਹਨ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਲੱਛਣਾ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬਧਤ ਸਮੂਹ ਕਰਮ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਦੂਜੇ ਭਾਵ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਪ ਹੈ।
Everything under the influence of the three qualities shall perish; the love of duality is corrupting.
ਪੰਡਿਤੁ ਪੜੈ. ਬੰਧਨ ਮੋਹ ਬਾਧਾ; ਨਹ ਬੂਝੈ. ਬਿਖਿਆ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥
panddit parrai. bandhan moh baadhaa; neh boojhai. bikhiaa piaar |
ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਦੇ ਜੂੜਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਕੜਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਧਰਮ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਵਾਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਪ ਨਾਲ ਰਚਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ, ਉਹ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦਾ।
The Pandits, the religious scholars, read the scriptures, but they are trapped in the bondage of emotional attachment. In love with evil, they do not understand.
ਸਤਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ. ਤਿ੍ਰਕੁਟੀ ਛੂਟੈ; ਚਉਥੈ ਪਦਿ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥੨॥

ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਸੁਭਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੈਦ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਪਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਚੋਥੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੋਖ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Meeting the Guru, the bondage of the three qualities is cut away, and in the fourth state, the Door of Liberation is attained. ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਤੇ. ਮਾਰਗੁ ਪਾਈਐ; ਚੂਕੈ ਮੋਹੁ ਗੁਬਾਰੁ ॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਲੱਭਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਦਾ ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Through the Guru, the Path is found, and the darkness of emotional attachment is dispelled.
ਸਬਦਿ ਮਰੈ ਤਾ ਉਧਰੈ; ਪਾਏ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥
sabad marai taa udharai; paae mokh duaar |
ਜੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇ, ਤਦ ਉਹ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਦਰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
If one dies through the Shabad, then salvation is obtained, and one finds the Door of Liberation.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੈ; ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਤਾਰੁ ॥੩॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰ ਉਹ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਦੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
By Guru's Grace, one remains blended with the True Name of the Creator. ||3||
ਇਹੁ ਮਨੂਆ. ਅਤਿ ਸਬਲ ਹੈ; ਛਡੇ ਨ. ਕਿਤੈ ਉਪਾਇ ॥
eihu manooaa. at sabal hai; chhadde na. kitai upaae |
ਇਹ ਮਨ ਅਤਿਅੰਤ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਯਤਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀ ਖਲਾਸੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।
This mind is very powerful; we cannot escape it just by trying.
ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਦੁਖੁ ਲਾਇਦਾ; ਬਹੁਤੀ ਦੇਇ ਸਜਾਇ ॥
doojai bhaae dukh laaeidaa; bahutee dee sajaae |
ਮਨੂਆ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਦਵੈਤ-ਭਾਵ ਦੀ ਬੀਮਾਰੀ ਚਮੇੜ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਖਤ ਦੰਡ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
In the love of duality, people suffer in pain, condemned to terrible punishment.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਨਾਮਿ ਲਗੇ ਸੇ ਉਬਰੇ; ਹਉਮੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਗਵਾਇ ॥੪॥੧੮॥੫੧॥
naanak. naam lage se ubare; haumai sabad gavaae |4|18|51|
ਨਾਨਕ, ਜੋ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਤਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੰਗਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, those who are attached to the Naam are saved; through the Shabad, their ego is banished. ||4||18||51||

ਜਦੋਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੇ, ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਮ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
By His Grace, the Guru is found, and the Name of the Lord is implanted within.
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ. ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਇਓ; ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਨਾਮ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਨਿਸਫਲ ਗੁਆ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Without the Guru, no one has obtained it; they waste away their lives in vain.
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵਣੇ; ਦਰਗਹ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਜਾਇ ॥੧॥
manamukh karam kamaavane; daragah milai sajaae |1|
ਅਧਰਮੀ ਕੂਕਰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਦੰਡ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
The self-willed manmukhs create karma, and in the Court of the Lord, they receive their punishment. ||1||
ਮਨ ਰੇ; ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ਚੁਕਾਇ ॥
man re; doojaa bhaau chukaae |
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ! ਹੋਰਸੁ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਦੇ।
O mind, give up the love of duality.
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਵਸੈ; ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
antar terai har vasai; gur sevaa sukh paae | rahaau |
ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਰਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਤੂੰ ਠੰਢ-ਚੈਨ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

ਸਚੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਹੈ; ਜਾ ਸਚਿ ਧਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
sach baanee sach sabad hai; jaa sach dhare piaar |
ਜੇਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਰਹੜੀ ਪਾ ਲਵੇਂ, ਸੱਚੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਕਥਨੀ ਤੇ ਸੱਚਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਧਰਮ।
When you love the Truth, your words are true; they reflect the True Word of the Shabad.
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ; ਹਉਮੈ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ॥
har kaa naam man vasai; haumai krodh nivaar |
ਰੱਬ ਨਾਂ ਨਾਮ ਅੰਤਰ ਆਤਮੇ ਵਸਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਗੁੱਸਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
The Name of the Lord dwells within the mind; egotism and anger are wiped away.
ਮਨਿ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ; ਤਾ ਪਾਏ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥੨॥
man niramal naam dhiaaeeai; taa paae mokh duaar |2|
ਜੇਕਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ-ਆਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰੇ, ਤਦ ਉਹ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਪੜ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੈ।
Meditating on the Naam with a pure mind, the Door of Liberation is found. ||2||
ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਜਗੁ ਬਿਨਸਦਾ; ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮੈ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ॥
haumai vich jag binasadaa; mar jamai aavai jaae |
ਹੰਕਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਹਾਨ ਤਬਾਹ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਮਰਦਾ, ਮੂੜ ਜੰਮਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Engrossed in egotism, the world perishes. It dies and is re-born; it continues coming and going in reincarnation.
ਮਨਮੁਖ. ਸਬਦੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਨੀ; ਜਾਸਨਿ ਪਤਿ ਗਵਾਇ ॥
manamukh. sabad na jaananee; jaasan pat gavaae |
ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕੂਲ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਿੰਞਾਣਦੇ। ਉਹ ਬੇਇਜ਼ਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਟੁਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The self-willed manmukhs do not recognize the Shabad; they forfeit their honor, and depart in disgrace.
ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਾਉ ਪਾਈਐ; ਸਚੇ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੩॥
gur sevaa naau paaeeai; sache rahai samaae |3|
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਵ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Serving the Guru, the Name is obtained, and one remains absorbed in the True Lord. ||3||
