ਹਉ ਹਉ ਕਰਤੀ. ਜਗੁ ਫਿਰੀ; ਨਾ ਧਨੁ ਸੰਪੈ ਨਾਲਿ ॥
hau hau karatee. jag firee; naa dhan sanpai naal |
ਹੰਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਖੁਦੀ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੋਈ, ਉਹ ਦੌਲਤ ਤੇ ਜਾਇਦਾਦ ਜਮ੍ਹਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਭਾਉਂਦੀਂ ਫਿਰੀ, ਪਰ ਇਹ ਦੌਲਤ ਉਹਦੇ ਸਾਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣੀ।
Practicing egotism, selfishness and conceit, she wanders around the world, but her wealth and property will not go with her.
ਅੰਧੀ. ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਚੇਤਈ; ਸਭ ਬਾਧੀ ਜਮਕਾਲਿ ॥

ਅੰਨ੍ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੀ। ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਦੁਤ ਨੇ ਨਰੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
The spiritually blind do not even think of the Naam; they are all bound and gagged by the Messenger of Death.
ਸਤਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ; ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਰਿਦੈ ਸਮਾਲਿ ॥੩॥

ਸਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Meeting the True Guru, the wealth is obtained, contemplating the Name of the Lord in the heart. ||3||
ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੇ ਨਿਰਮਲੇ; ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
naam rate se niramale; gur kai sehaj subhaae |
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਜੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਬੇਦਾਗ ਹਨ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ-ਗਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
Those who are attuned to the Naam are immaculate and pure; through the Guru, they obtain intuitive peace and poise.
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ਰੰਗ ਸਿਉ; ਰਸਨਾ ਰਸਨ ਰਸਾਇ ॥
man tan raataa rang siau; rasanaa rasan rasaae |
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਜੀਭਾ ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ।
Their minds and bodies are dyed in the Color of the Lord's Love, and their tongues savor His Sublime Essence.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਰੰਗੁ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ; ਜੋ. ਹਰਿ ਧੁਰਿ ਛੋਡਿਆ ਲਾਇ ॥੪॥੧੪॥੪੭॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੀ ਰੰਗਤ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਐਨ ਆਰੰਭ ਤੋਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾ ਛੱਡੀ ਹੈ, ਲਹਿੰਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ।
O Nanak, that Primal Color which the Lord has applied, shall never fade away. ||4||14||47||

Siree Raag, Third Mehl:
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕਿ੍ਰਪਾ ਕਰੇ. ਭਗਤਿ ਕੀਜੈ; ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ. ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥

ਜੇਕਰ ਮੁਖੀ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਨ ਤਾਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸ਼ਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਮੁਮਕਿਨ ਨਹੀਂ।
By His Grace one becomes Gurmukh, worshipping the Lord with devotion. Without the Guru there is no devotional worship.
ਆਪੈ ਆਪੁ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਬੂਝੈ; ਤਾ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੋਈ ॥
aapai aap milaae boojhai; taa niramal hovai soee |
ਜੇਕਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਣ, ਤਦ ਉਹ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Those whom He unites with Himself, understand and become pure.
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਸਾਚਾ. ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ; ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥
har jeeo saachaa. saachee baanee; sabad milaavaa hoee |1|
ਸਚਾ ਹੈ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਸਚੀ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ। ਗੁਰ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Dear Lord is True, and True is the Word of His Bani. Through the Shabad, we merge with Him. ||1||
ਭਾਈ ਰੇ; ਭਗਤਿਹੀਣੁ. ਕਾਹੇ ਜਗਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
bhaaee re; bhagatiheen. kaahe jag aaeaa |
ਹੇ ਭਰਾ! ਬੰਦਗੀ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਕਿਸ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ?
O Siblings of Destiny: those who lack devotion-why have they even bothered to come into the world?
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵ. ਨ ਕੀਨੀ; ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਮਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਬੇਫਾਇਦਾ ਵੰਞਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
They do not serve the Perfect Guru; they waste away their lives in vain. ||1||Pause||
ਆਪੇ ਜਗਜੀਵਨੁ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ; ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
aape jagajeevan sukhadaataa; aape bakhas milaae |
ਜਗਤ ਦੀ ਜਾਨ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਖੁਦ ਆਰਾਮ ਦੇਣਹਾਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਫੀ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Lord Himself, the Life of the World, is the Giver of Peace. He Himself forgives, and unites with Himself.
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਏ ਕਿਆ ਵੇਚਾਰੇ; ਕਿਆ ਕੋ ਆਖਿ ਸੁਣਾਏ ॥
jeea jant e kiaa vechaare; kiaa ko aakh sunaae |
ਇਹ ਨਿਰਬਲ ਜੀਵ ਜੰਤੂ ਕੀ ਹਨ? ਕੋਈ ਜਣਾ ਕੀ ਕਹਿ ਤੇ ਸੁਣਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
So what about all these poor beings and creatures? What can anyone say?
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਇ ਵਡਾਈ; ਆਪੇ ਸੇਵ ਕਰਾਏ ॥੨॥

ਸਾਹਿਬ ਖੁਦ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਆਬਰੂ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
He Himself blesses the Gurmukh with glory. He Himself enjoins us to His Service. ||2||
ਦੇਖਿ ਕੁਟੰਬੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਲੋਭਾਣਾ; ਚਲਦਿਆ. ਨਾਲਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
dekh kuttanb mohi lobhaanaa; chaladiaa. naal na jaaee |
ਵੇਖ (ਹੇ ਬੰਦੇ!) ਤੇਰਾ ਟੱਬਰ ਕਬੀਲਾ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਮੁਹੱਬਤ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਵਰਗਲਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਤੇਰੇ ਟੁਰਨ ਵੇਲੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਾ।
Gazing upon their families, people are lured and trapped by emotional attachment, but none will go along with them in the end.
ਸਤਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ; ਤਿਸ ਦੀ ਕੀਮ. ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥
satagur sev gun nidhaan paaeaa; tis dee keem. na paaee |
ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਮੈਂ ਉਤਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਤਾਈਆਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
Serving the True Guru, one finds the Lord, the Treasure of Excellence. His Value cannot be estimated.
ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਖਾ ਮੀਤੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ; ਅੰਤੇ ਹੋਇ ਸਖਾਈ ॥੩॥
har prabh sakhaa meet prabh meraa; ante hoe sakhaaee |3|
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਥੀ ਤੇ ਸੱਜਣ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਅਖੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
The Lord God is my Friend and Companion. God shall be my Helper and Support in the end. ||3||
ਆਪਣੈ ਮਨਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਕਹੈ ਕਹਾਏ; ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ. ਆਪੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
aapanai man chit kahai kahaae; bin gur. aap na jaaee |
ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਕੁਝ ਪਿਆ ਆਖੇ ਜਾ ਅਖਵਾਵੇ, ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਸਵੈ-ਹੰਗਤਾ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।
Within your conscious mind, you may say anything, but without the Guru, selfishness is not removed.
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਦਾਤਾ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਹੈ; ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਈ ॥
har jeeo daataa bhagat vachhal hai; kar kirapaa man vasaaee |
ਪੂਜਨੀਯ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾਤਾਰ, ਅਨੁਰਾਗੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਹੈ। ਆਪਣੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਆ ਟਿਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Dear Lord is the Giver, the Lover of His devotees. By His Grace, He comes to dwell in the mind.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਸੋਭਾ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਦੇਇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪੇ; ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਦੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੪੮॥

ਨਾਨਕ, ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਪ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਰੁਹਾਨੀ ਜਾਗ੍ਰਤੀ ਬਖਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ-ਪਿਆਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਇਜ਼ਤ-ਆਬਰੂ ਪਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, by His Grace, He bestows enlightened awareness; God Himself blesses the Gurmukh with glorious greatness. ||4||15||48||

ਧਨੁ ਜਨਨੀ. ਜਿਨਿ ਜਾਇਆ; ਧੰਨੁ ਪਿਤਾ ਪਰਧਾਨੁ ॥

ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਹੈ ਮਾਤਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਹੈ ਮੁਖੀਆ ਬਾਬਲ ਉਸਦਾ,
Blessed is the mother who gave birth; blessed and respected is the father of one who serves the True Guru and finds peace.
ਸਤਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ; ਵਿਚਹੁ ਗਇਆ ਗੁਮਾਨੁ ॥

ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾ ਕੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
His arrogant pride is banished from within.
ਦਰਿ ਸੇਵਨਿ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਖੜੇ; ਪਾਇਨਿ ਗੁਣੀ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥੧॥
dar sevan sant jan kharre; paaein gunee nidhaan |1|
ਨੇਕੀਆ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ, ਭਗਵਾਨ ਦੇ ਬੂਹੇ ਉਤੇ ਖਲੋਤੇ ਹੋਏ, ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਪੁਰਸ਼, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੇਵਦੇ ਤੇ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Standing at the Lord's Door, the humble Saints serve Him; they find the Treasure of Excellence. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ. ਗੁਰ ਮੁਖਿ; ਧਿਆਇ ਹਰਿ ਸੋਇ ॥
mere man. gur mukh; dhiaae har soe |
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ! ਮੁਖੀਏ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਉਸ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਅਰਾਧਨ ਕਰ।
O my mind, become Gurmukh, and meditate on the Lord.
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ; ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਜੇਕਰ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਤਰ-ਆਤਮੇ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਸਾਫ ਸੁਥਰੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਵਣਗੇ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
The Word of the Guru's Shabad abides within the mind, and the body and mind become pure. ||1||Pause||
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਘਰਿ ਆਇਆ; ਆਪੇ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਆਇ ॥

ਆਪਣੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਨਿਛਾਵਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ।
By His Grace, He has come into my home; He Himself has come to meet me.
ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਸਾਲਾਹੀਐ; ਰੰਗੇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
gurasabadee saalaaheeai; range sehaj subhaae |
ਜੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਸੁਭਾਵਕ ਹੀ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਰੰਗ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Singing His Praises through the Shabads of the Guru, we are dyed in His Color with intuitive ease.
ਸਚੈ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ; ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੈ. ਨ ਵਿਛੁੜਿ ਜਾਇ ॥੨॥
sachai sach samaaeaa; mil rahai. na vichhurr jaae |2|
ਸਤਵਾਦੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਨਾਲ ਰਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜੁਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।
Becoming truthful, we merge with the True One; remaining blended with Him, we shall never be separated again. ||2||
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰਣਾ ਸੁ ਕਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ; ਅਵਰੁ. ਨ ਕਰਣਾ ਜਾਇ ॥
jo kichh karanaa su kar rahiaa; avar. na karanaa jaae |
ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ।
Whatever is to be done, the Lord is doing. No one else can do anything.
ਚਿਰੀ ਵਿਛੁੰਨੇ ਮੇਲਿਅਨੁ; ਸਤਗੁਰ ਪੰਨੈ ਪਾਇ ॥

ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਦੇਰ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਰੂਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
Those separated from Him for so long are reunited with Him once again by the True Guru, who takes them into His Own Account.
ਆਪੇ ਕਾਰ ਕਰਾਇਸੀ; ਅਵਰੁ. ਨ ਕਰਣਾ ਜਾਇ ॥੩॥

ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਿੰਨ ਭਿੰਨ ਕੰਮੀ ਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੋਰ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
He Himself assigns all to their tasks; nothing else can be done. ||3||
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਰਤਾ ਰੰਗ ਸਿਉ; ਹਉਮੈ ਤਜਿ ਵਿਕਾਰ ॥
man tan rataa rang siau; haumai taj vikaar |
ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਬਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
One whose mind and body are imbued with the Lord's Love gives up egotism and corruption.
ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਰਵਿ ਰਹੈ; ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ॥
ahinis hiradai rav rahai; nirbhau naam nirankaar |
ਦਿਹੁੰ ਰੈਣ, ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਹ ਭੈ-ਰਹਿਤ ਤੇ ਸਰੂਪ-ਰਹਿਤ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Day and night, the Name of the One Lord, the Fearless and Formless One, dwells within the heart.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਅਨੁ; ਪੂਰੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਅਪਾਰ ॥੪॥੧੬॥੪੯॥

ਨਾਨਕ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੰਤ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਅਭੇਦ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, He blends us with Himself, through the Perfect, Infinite Word of His Shabad. ||4||16||49||

ਸਿਰੀ ਰਾਗ, ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
Siree Raag, Third Mehl:
ਗੋਵਿਦੁ ਗੁਣੀ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹੈ; ਅੰਤੁ. ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
govid gunee nidhaan hai; ant. na paaeaa jaae |
ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਖੂਬੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਭੰਡਾਰਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਓੜਕ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
The Lord of the Universe is the Treasure of Excellence; His limits cannot be found.
ਕਥਨੀ ਬਦਨੀ. ਨ ਪਾਈਐ; ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਜਾਇ ॥

ਮੂੰਹ-ਜ਼ਬਾਨੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਸਵੈ-ਹੰਗਤਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
He is not obtained by mouthing mere words, but by rooting out ego from within.
