ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਤੂੰ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਪੂਜਯ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅਦੁੱਤੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
Become Gurmukh, and meditate forever on the Dear Lord, the One and Only Creator. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾ ਕੇ ਮੁਖ ਉਜਲੇ; ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
guramukhaa ke mukh ujale; gurasabadee beechaar |
ਰੋਸ਼ਨ ਹਨ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ-ਪਿਆਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ। ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The faces of the Gurmukhs are radiant and bright; they reflect on the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
ਹਲਤਿ ਪਲਤਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਦੇ; ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ॥
halat palat sukh paaeide; jap jap ridai muraar |
ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਵੈਰੀ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਤੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਉਹ ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਲੋਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
They obtain peace in this world and the next, chanting and meditating within their hearts on the Lord.
ਘਰ ਹੀ ਵਿਚਿ ਮਹਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ; ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥੨॥
ghar hee vich mehal paaeaa; gurasabadee veechaar |2|
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਚਣ ਸਮਝਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਪਾਂ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Within the home of their own inner being, they obtain the Mansion of the Lord's Presence, reflecting on the Guru's Shabad. ||2||
ਸਤਗੁਰ ਤੇ. ਜੋ ਮੁਹ ਫੇਰਹਿ; ਮਥੇ ਤਿਨ ਕਾਲੇ ॥
satagur te. jo muh fereh; mathe tin kaale |
ਸਿਆਹ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਸਤਕ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਵਲੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਮੋੜ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who turn their faces away from the True Guru shall have their faces blackened.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਦੁਖ ਕਮਾਵਦੇ; ਨਿਤ ਜੋਹੇ ਜਮ ਜਾਲੇ ॥
anadin dukh kamaavade; nit johe jam jaale |
ਰਾਤ੍ਰੀ ਦਿਹੁੰ ਉਹ ਦੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਹਾਰ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਾੜਦੀ ਹੈ।
Night and day, they suffer in pain; they see the noose of Death always hovering above them.
ਸੁਪਨੈ ਸੁਖੁ. ਨ ਦੇਖਨੀ; ਬਹੁ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਪਰਜਾਲੇ ॥੩॥

ਸੁਫਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੀ ਉਹ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਕ ਫਿਕਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਸਾੜ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਹੈ।
Even in their dreams, they find no peace; they are consumed by the fires of intense anxiety. ||3||
ਸਭਨਾ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ; ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸ ਕਰੇਇ ॥
sabhanaa kaa daataa ek hai; aape bakhas karee |
ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬਖਸ਼ੀਸ਼ਾਂ ਬਖਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ।
The One Lord is the Giver of all; He Himself bestows all blessings.
ਕਹਣਾ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਵਈ; ਜਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਦੇਇ ॥
kahanaa kichhoo na jaavee; jis bhaavai tis dee |
ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਦਖਲ ਨਹੀਂ।
No one else has any say in this; He gives just as He pleases.
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਈਐ; ਆਪੇ ਜਾਣੈ ਸੋਇ ॥੪॥੯॥੪੨॥

ਨਾਨਕ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪਰਾਪਤੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, the Gurmukhs obtain Him; He Himself knows Himself. ||4||9||42||

Siree Raag, Third Mehl:
ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸੇਵੀਐ; ਸਚੁ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਦੇਇ ॥
sachaa saahib seveeai; sach vaddiaaee dee |
ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰ ਜੋ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸੱਚੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਤਾ ਪਰਦਾਨ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
Serve your True Lord and Master, and you shall be blessed with true greatness.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ; ਹਉਮੈ ਦੂਰਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥
gur parasaadee man vasai; haumai door karee |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਸਦਕਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਹੰਗਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਰੇ ਸੁੱਟ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
By Guru's Grace, He abides in the mind, and egotism is driven out.
ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਧਾਵਤੁ. ਤਾ ਰਹੈ; ਜਾ ਆਪੇ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥੧॥
eihu man dhaavat. taa rahai; jaa aape nadar karee |1|
ਜਦ ਸਾਈਂ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗ੍ਹਾ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੇਵਲ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਭਜਿਆ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਮਨੂਆ ਕਾਬੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
This wandering mind comes to rest, when the Lord casts His Glance of Grace. ||1||
ਭਾਈ ਰੇ; ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥
bhaaee re; guramukh har naam dhiaae |
ਹੇ ਵੀਰ! ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਅਰਾਧਨ ਕਰ।
O Siblings of Destiny, become Gurmukh, and meditate on the Name of the Lord.
ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਸਦ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ; ਮਹਲੀ ਪਾਵੈ ਥਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
naam nidhaan sad man vasai; mahalee paavai thaau |1| rahaau |
ਜੇਕਰ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਰਖੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਥਾਂ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
The Treasure of the Naam abides forever within the mind, and one's place of rest is found in the Mansion of the Lord's Presence. ||1||Pause||
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਅੰਧੁ ਹੈ; ਤਿਸ ਨਉ. ਠਉਰ ਨ ਠਾਉ ॥
manamukh man tan andh hai; tis nau. tthaur na tthaau |
ਅਧਰਮੀ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਪਨਾਹ ਜਾਂ ਆਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ।
The minds and bodies of the self-willed manmukhs are filled with darkness; they find no shelter, no place of rest.
ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨੀ ਭਉਦਾ ਫਿਰੈ; ਜਿਉ. ਸੁੰਞੈਂ ਘਰਿ ਕਾਉ ॥
bahu jonee bhaudaa firai; jiau. sunyain ghar kaau |
ਸੱਖਣੇ ਮਕਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਨਿੰਦ, ਉਹ ਘਨੇਰੀਆਂ ਜੂਨੀਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Through countless incarnations they wander lost, like crows in a deserted house.
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਘਟਿ ਚਾਨਣਾ; ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਉ ॥੨॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਰੱਬੀ ਨੂਰ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਚਮਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਰੰਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
Through the Guru's Teachings, the heart is illuminated. Through the Shabad, the Name of the Lord is received. ||2||
ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਅੰਧੁ ਹੈ; ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਗੁਬਾਰ ॥
trai gun bikhiaa andh hai; maaeaa moh gubaar |
ਤੈਨੂੰ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਸੁਭਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਧਨ ਦੌਲਤ ਦੀ ਲਗਨ ਦੇ ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰੇ ਨੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਕਰ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਹੈ।
In the corruption of the three qualities, there is blindness; in attachment to Maya, there is darkness.
ਲੋਭੀ ਅਨ ਕਉ ਸੇਵਦੇ; ਪੜਿ ਵੇਦਾ ਕਰੈ ਪੂਕਾਰ ॥
lobhee an kau sevade; parr vedaa karai pookaar |
ਲਾਲਚੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਹੋਰਨਾ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੇਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਾਚਣ ਦਾ ਢੰਡੋਰਾ ਪਿਟਦੇ ਹਨ।
The greedy people serve others, instead of the Lord, although they loudly announce their reading of scriptures.
ਬਿਖਿਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਚਿ ਮੁਏ; ਨਾ ਉਰਵਾਰੁ. ਨ ਪਾਰੁ ॥੩॥
bikhiaa andar pach mue; naa uravaar. na paar |3|
ਪਾਪ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਹ ਸੜ ਕੇ ਮਰ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਨਾਂ ਉਹ ਉਰਲੇ ਕਿਨਾਰੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਪਾਰਲੇ।
They are burnt to death by their own corruption; they are not at home, on either this shore or the one beyond. ||3||
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ; ਜਗਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਿ ॥
maaeaa mohi visaariaa; jagat pitaa pratipaal |
ਧਨ-ਦੌਲਤ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਣ-ਪੋਸਣਹਾਰ ਬਾਬਲ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
In attachment to Maya, they have forgotten the Father, the Cherisher of the World.
ਬਾਝਹੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਚੇਤੁ ਹੈ; ਸਭ ਬਧੀ ਜਮਕਾਲਿ ॥
baajhahu guroo achet hai; sabh badhee jamakaal |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਗਾਫਲ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਫ਼ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇ ਦੀ ਕੈਦ ਅੰਦਰ ਹਨ।
Without the Guru, all are unconscious; they are held in bondage by the Messenger of Death.
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਉਬਰੇ; ਸਚਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲਿ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੪੩॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਤਾਬੇ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
O Nanak, through the Guru's Teachings, you shall be saved, contemplating the True Name. ||4||10||43||

ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਹੈ; ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ. ਚਉਥਾ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇ ॥

ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਮਿਜਾਜ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਧਨ ਦੌਲਤ ਦੀ ਲਗਣ ਹੀ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ-ਪਿਆਰਾ ਚੋਥੀ ਬੈਕੁੰਠੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਤਾ ਦੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The three qualities hold people in attachment to Maya. The Gurmukh attains the fourth state of higher consciousness.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੇਲਾਇਅਨੁ; ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥
kar kirapaa melaaeian; har naam vasiaa man aae |
ਸੁਆਮੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਕੇ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Granting His Grace, God unites us with Himself. The Name of the Lord comes to abide within the mind.
ਪੋਤੈ ਜਿਨ ਕੈ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਹੈ; ਤਿਨ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮੇਲਾਇ ॥੧॥
potai jin kai pun hai; tin satasangat melaae |1|
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਹੈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Those who have the treasure of goodness join the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation. ||1||
ਭਾਈ ਰੇ; ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਸਾਚਿ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਹੇ ਭਰਾ! ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਸੱਚ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਹੁ।
O Siblings of Destiny, follow the Guru's Teachings and dwell in truth.
ਸਾਚੋ ਸਾਚੁ ਕਮਾਵਣਾ; ਸਾਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saacho saach kamaavanaa; saachai sabad milaau |1| rahaau |
ਨਿਰੋਲ ਸੱਚ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਜਾ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
Practice truth, and only truth, and merge in the True Word of the Shabad. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਨੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ; ਤਿਨ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥
jinee naam pachhaaniaa; tin vittahu bal jaau |
ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੰਞਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ।
I am a sacrifice to those who recognize the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਆਪੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਗਾ; ਚਲਾ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਭਾਇ ॥
aap chhodd charanee lagaa; chalaa tin kai bhaae |
ਆਪਣੀ ਸਵੇ-ਹੰਗਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਾਣੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਟੁਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
Renouncing selfishness, I fall at their feet, and walk in harmony with His Will.
ਲਾਹਾ. ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ; ਸਹਜੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੨॥

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਨਫਾ ਕਮਾ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੁਭਾਵਕ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਵਾਂਗਾ।
Earning the Profit of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, I am intuitively absorbed in the Naam. ||2||
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ. ਮਹਲੁ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ; ਨਾਮੁ. ਨ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਜੀਵ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Without the Guru, the Mansion of the Lord's Presence is not found, and the Naam is not obtained.
ਐਸਾ ਸਤਗੁਰੁ. ਲੋੜਿ ਲਹੁ; ਜਿਦੂ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਇ ॥

ਖੋਜ ਕੇ ਐਹੋ ਜੇਹੇ ਸਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਸਚੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲਵੇ।
Seek and find such a True Guru, who shall lead you to the True Lord.
ਅਸੁਰ ਸੰਘਾਰੈ. ਸੁਖਿ ਵਸੈ; ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥
asur sanghaarai. sukh vasai; jo tis bhaavai su hoe |3|
ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੰਦ-ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਰਾਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੁਝ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Destroy your evil passions, and you shall dwell in peace. Whatever pleases the Lord comes to pass. ||3||
ਜੇਹਾ ਸਤਗੁਰੁ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਣਿਆ; ਤੇਹੋ ਜੇਹਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
jehaa satagur kar jaaniaa; teho jehaa sukh hoe |
ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਸਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੈ, ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਆਰਾਮ ਜੀਵ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
As one knows the True Guru, so is the peace obtained.
ਏਹੁ ਸਹਸਾ ਮੂਲੇ ਨਾਹੀ; ਭਾਉ ਲਾਏ ਜਨੁ ਕੋਇ ॥
ehu sahasaa moole naahee; bhaau laae jan koe |
ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸਲੋਂ ਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਸੰਦੇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਹੀ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਰਹੜੀ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
There is no doubt at all about this, but those who love Him are very rare.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਏਕ ਜੋਤਿ ਦੁਇ ਮੂਰਤੀ; ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥੧੧॥੪੪॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਸਰੂਪ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਐਨ ਓਹੀ ਇਕ ਨੂਰ ਹੈ। ਨਾਮ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਜੀਵ ਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, the One Light has two forms; through the Shabad, union is attained. ||4||11||44||
