Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji

ਸਿਰੀ ਰਾਗ, ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Siree Raag, Third Mehl, First House:

ਹਰ ਸ਼ੈ ਉਸੇ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਉਤੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਹੈ।

Everyone belongs to the One who rules the Universe.

ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਜ਼ਾਹਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਚੰਗੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

The Gurmukh practices good deeds, and the truth is revealed in the heart.

ਸੱਚੀ ਹੈ ਸ਼ੁਹਰਤ ਸੱਚੇ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਦੀ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੱਚਾ-ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਰਖਦਾ ਹੈ।

True is the reputation of the true, within whom truth abides.

ਜੋ ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਵੱਖਰੇਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ। ਉਹ ਆਪਦੇ ਨਿਜ ਦੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਸੇਬਾ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Those who meet the True Lord are not separated again; they come to dwell in the home of the self deep within. ||1||

ਹੇ, ਮੇਰੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ।

O my Lord! Without the Lord, I have no other at all.

ਸਦਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਬਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

The True Guru leads us to meet the Immaculate True God through the Word of His Shabad. ||1||Pause||

ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਖੁਦ ਮਿਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਅਭੇਦ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

One whom the Lord merges into Himself is merged in the Shabad, and remains so merged.

ਦਵੈਤ-ਭਾਵ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ, ਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

No one merges with Him through the love of duality; over and over again, they come and go in reincarnation.

ਇਕ (ਸਾਹਿਬ) ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਮਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। (ਉਹ) ਇਕ (ਅਦੁੱਤੀ) ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

The One Lord permeates all. The One Lord is pervading everywhere.

ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਖੁਦ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ, ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

That Gurmukh, unto whom the Lord shows His Kindness, is absorbed in the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||2||

ਪੜ੍ਹ ਵਾਚ ਕੇ ਵਿਦਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਜ਼ੂਮੀਏ ਬਖੇਡੇ ਤੇ ਹੁੱਜਤਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

After all their reading, the Pandits, the religious scholars, and the astrologers argue and debate.

ਚੰਦਰਾ ਲਾਲਚ (ਜੀਵਾਂ) ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ) ਫਿਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਸਮਝ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਲ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਿੰਞਾਣਦੀ।

Their intellect and understanding are perverted; they just don't understand. They are filled with greed and corruption.

ਉਹ ਚੁਰਾਸੀ ਲੱਖ ਜੂਨੀਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਭੌਦੇਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਮਣ ਤੇ ਭਟਕਣ ਅੰਦਰ ਤਬਾਹ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Through 8.4 million incarnations they wander lost and confused; through all their wandering and roaming, they are ruined.

ਉਹ ਧੁਰ ਦੀ ਲਿਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਲਿਖਤਕਾਰ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਮੇਟਨ ਦੇ ਸਮਰਥ ਨਹੀਂ।

They act according to their pre-ordained destiny, which no one can erase. ||3||

ਸੰਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਕਠਨ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸੀਸ ਭੇਟਾ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਵੈ-ਹੰਗਤਾ ਗਵਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

It is very difficult to serve the True Guru. Surrender your head; give up your selfishness.

ਜੇਕਰ ਬੰਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਦ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੀ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਮੂਹ ਘਾਲ ਕਬੂਲ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

Realizing the Shabad, one meets with the Lord, and all one's service is accepted.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਮੋਲਕ (ਵਿਅਕਤੀ) ਨਾਲ ਲੱਗਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਜੀਵ ਖੁਦ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਪਰਮ-ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

By personally experiencing the Personality of the Guru, one's own personality is uplifted, and one's light merges into the Light.

ਸੱਚਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆ ਕੇ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਧੁਰੋ ਐਸੀ ਲਿਖਤਾਕਾਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

Those who have such pre-ordained destiny come to meet the True Guru. ||4||

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ! ਆਪਣੇ ਖੁਦਿਆਵੰਤ ਅਤੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਦੀ ਸਾਮਗਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਗੈਰ ਹੋਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਨਾਂ ਕਰ ਤੇ ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਕਰ।

O mind, don't cry out that you are hungry, always hungry; stop complaining.

ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਚੁਰਾਸੀ ਲੱਖ ਜੂਨੀਆਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਹਾਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

The One who created the 8.4 million species of beings gives sustenance to all.

ਭੈ-ਰਹਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

The Fearless Lord is forever Merciful; He takes care of all.

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਇਨਸਾਨ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

O Nanak, the Gurmukh understands, and finds the Door of Liberation. ||5||3||36||

ਜੋ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਵਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਕੀਨ ਰਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿਜਦੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Those who hear and believe, find the home of the self deep within.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਤਾਬੇ ਤੂੰ ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਕਰ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਸਰੇਸ਼ਟਤਾਈਆਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲਵੇਗਾ।

Through the Guru's Teachings, they praise the True Lord; they find the Lord, the Treasure of Excellence.

ਬੇ-ਦਾਗ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਜੇ ਹਨ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੀ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

Attuned to the Word of the Shabad, they are immaculate and pure. I am forever a sacrifice to them.

ਰੱਬੀ ਨੂਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਚਮਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।

Those people, within whose hearts the Lord abides, are radiant and enlightened. ||1||

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ! ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰ।

O my mind, meditate on the Immaculate Lord, Har, Har.

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਆਦਿ ਤੋਂ ਐਸੀ ਲਿਖਤਾਕਾਰ ਹੈ; ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Those whose have such pre-ordained destiny written on their foreheads-those Gurmukhs remain absorbed in the Lord's Love. ||1||Pause||

ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਧੂਓ, ਗਹੁ ਦੀ ਨਿਗ੍ਹਾ ਨਾਲ ਤੱਕੋ ਕਿ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇੜੇ ਹੀ ਵੰਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਪਰੀ-ਪੂਰਨ ਹੈ।

O Saints, see clearly that the Lord is near at hand; He is pervading everywhere.

ਜੋ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੰਞਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ-ਨਾਜ਼ਰ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਨ।

Those who follow the Guru's Teachings realize Him, and see Him Ever-present.

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੱਲੇ ਸਰੇਸ਼ਟਤਾਈ ਹੈ, ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲੋ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੁਰੇਡੇ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਪਾਪੀ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਹਨ।

He dwells forever in the minds of the virtuous. He is far removed from those worthless people who lack virtue.

ਅਧਰਮੀ ਨੇਕੀ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੇ ਹਨ। ਹਰੀ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਝੇ ਹੋਏ ਉਹ ਅਫਸੋਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਫ਼ੌਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

The self-willed manmukhs are totally without virtue. Without the Name, they die in frustration. ||2||

ਜੋ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਵਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਅਮਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

Those who hear and believe in the Word of the Guru's Shabad, meditate on the Lord in their minds.

ਰੈਣ ਦਿਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਰੰਗੀਜਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Night and day, they are steeped in devotion; their minds and bodies become pure.

ਝੂਠਾ ਹੈ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ) ਰੰਗ ਜਿਵੇ ਕਸੁੰਭੇ ਦੇ ਫੁੱਲ ਦੀ ਰੰਗਤ ਹੈ। ਜਦ ਇਹ ਅਲੋਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਇਨਸਾਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਰੋਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

The color of the world is false and weak; when it washes away, people cry out in pain.

ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਤੇ ਸਦੀਵ ਲਈ ਮੁਸਤਕਿਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Those who have the Radiant Light of the Naam within, become steady and stable, forever and ever. ||3||
