ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ; ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
sant prasaad; param pad paaeaa |2|
ਸਾਧੂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਮੈਂ ਮਹਾਨ ਮਰਤਬਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
By the Grace of the Saints, I have obtained the supreme status. ||2||
ਜਨ ਕੀ; ਕੀਨੀ ਆਪਿ ਸਹਾਇ ॥
jan kee; keenee aap sahaae |
ਆਪਣੇ ਨਫਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Lord is the Help and Support of His humble servant.
ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ; ਲਗਿ ਦਾਸਹ ਪਾਇ ॥
sukh paaeaa; lag daasah paae |
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਰਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
I have found peace, falling at the feet of His slaves.
ਆਪੁ ਗਇਆ; ਤਾ ਆਪਹਿ ਭਏ ॥
aap geaa; taa aapeh bhe |
ਜਦ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਚਲਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
When selfishness is gone, then one becomes the Lord Himself;
ਕਿ੍ਰਪਾ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਕੀ; ਸਰਨੀ ਪਏ ॥੩॥
kripaa nidhaan kee; saranee pe |3|
ਅਤੇ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਦੀ ਸਰਣਾਗਤ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
seek the Sanctuary of the treasure of mercy. ||3||
ਜੋ ਚਾਹਤ; ਸੋਈ ਜਬ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
jo chaahat; soee jab paaeaa |
ਜਦ ਆਦਮੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਤਾਂਘਦਾ ਹੈ,
When someone finds the One he has desired,
ਤਬ ਢੂੰਢਨ; ਕਹਾ ਕੋ ਜਾਇਆ ॥
tab dtoondtan; kahaa ko jaaeaa |
ਤਦ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਸ ਜਗ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਵੇ?
then where should he go to look for Him?
ਅਸਥਿਰ ਭਏ; ਬਸੇ ਸੁਖ ਆਸਨ ॥
asathir bhe; base sukh aasan |
ਉਹ ਅਮਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਟਿਕਾਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
I have become steady and stable, and I dwell in the seat of peace.
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ; ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖ ਬਾਸਨ ॥੪॥੧੧੦॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਸਦਕਾ, ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਤਾ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਦਾਖਿਲ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ!
By Guru's Grace, Nanak has entered the home of peace. ||4||110||

ਕੋਟਿ ਮਜਨ; ਕੀਨੋ ਇਸਨਾਨ ॥
kott majan; keeno isanaan |
ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਨ੍ਹਾਉਣਾ ਤੇ ਗੁਸਲ ਕਰਨ,
The merits of taking millions of ceremonial cleansing baths,
ਲਾਖ ਅਰਬ ਖਰਬ; ਦੀਨੋ ਦਾਨੁ ॥
laakh arab kharab; deeno daan |
ਅਤੇ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਅਰਬਾਂ ਤੇ ਖਰਬਾ ਪੁੰਨਦਾਨ ਦਾਣ ਦਾ,
the giving of hundreds of thousands, billions and trillions in charity
ਜਾ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਓ; ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੧॥
jaa man vasio; har ko naam |1|
ਇਹ ਸਭ ਫਲ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਹੈ।
- these are obtained by those whose minds are filled with the Name of the Lord. ||1||
ਸਗਲ ਪਵਿਤ; ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਗੁਪਾਲ ॥
sagal pavit; gun gaae gupaal |
ਜੋ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਮੂਹ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਹਨ।
Those who sing the Glories of the Lord of the World are totally pure.
ਪਾਪ ਮਿਟਹਿ; ਸਾਧੂ ਸਰਨਿ ਦਇਆਲ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੂ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਲੈਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪਾਪ ਨੇਸਤੋ-ਨਾਬੂਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
Their sins are erased, in the Sanctuary of the Kind and Holy Saints. ||Pause||
ਬਹੁਤੁ ਉਰਧ ਤਪ; ਸਾਧਨ ਸਾਧੇ ॥
bahut uradh tap; saadhan saadhe |
ਘਨੇਰੀਆਂ ਮੂਧੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਕਰੜੀਆਂ ਘਾਲਾ ਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਉਣ,
The merits of performing all sorts of austere acts of penance and self-discipline,
ਅਨਿਕ ਲਾਭ; ਮਨੋਰਥ ਲਾਧੇ ॥
anik laabh; manorath laadhe |
ਅਤੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਮੁਨਾਫੇ ਤੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਭਿਲਾਸ਼ਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਫਲ,
earning huge profits and seeing one's desires fulfilled
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ; ਰਸਨ ਆਰਾਧੇ ॥੨॥
har har naam; rasan aaraadhe |2|
ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
- these are obtained by chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, with the tongue. ||2||
ਸਿੰਮਿ੍ਰਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ; ਬੇਦ ਬਖਾਨੇ ॥
sinmrit saasat; bed bakhaane |
ਜਾਣ ਲਓ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਤੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਾਸ਼ਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਦ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਲਏ ਹਨ,
The merits of reciting the Simritees, the Shaastras and the Vedas,
ਜੋਗ ਗਿਆਨ ਸਿਧ; ਸੁਖ ਜਾਨੇ ॥
jog giaan sidh; sukh jaane |
ਅਤੇ ਯੋਗ ਵਿਦਿਆ, ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ ਵੀਚਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਾਮਾਤਾਂ ਕਮਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ,
knowledge of the science of Yoga, spiritual wisdom and the pleasure of miraculous spiritual powers
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ; ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਉ ਮਨ ਮਾਨੇ ॥੩॥
naam japat; prabh siau man maane |3|
ਜਦ ਬੰਦਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਤੁਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
- these come by surrendering the mind and meditating on the Name of God. ||3||
ਅਗਾਧਿ ਬੋਧਿ; ਹਰਿ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰੇ ॥
agaadh bodh; har agam apaare |
ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਦ ਬੰਨਾ-ਰਹਿਤ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਗਿਆਤ ਸੋਚ ਸਮਝ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੈ।
The wisdom of the Inaccessible and Infinite Lord is incomprehensible.
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ; ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੇ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ ॥
naam japat; naam ride beechaare |
ਉਹ (ਨਾਨਕ) ਹਰੀ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
Meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and contemplating the Naam within our hearts,
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ; ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੧੧੧॥
naanak kau; prabh kirapaa dhaare |4|111|
ਨਾਨਕ ਉਤੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, God has showered His Mercy upon us. ||4||111||

ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ, ਆਰਾਧਨ, ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਆਰਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
Meditating, meditating, meditating in remembrance, I have found peace.
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਗੁਰ; ਰਿਦੈ ਬਸਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
charan kamal gur; ridai basaaeaa |1|
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਵਲ ਰੂਪੀ ਚਰਨ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਾ ਲਏ ਹਨ।
I have enshrined the Lotus Feet of the Guru within my heart. ||1||
ਗੁਰ ਗੋਬਿੰਦੁ; ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪੂਰਾ ॥
gur gobind; paarabraham pooraa |
ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਰੂਪ, ਗੁਰੂ-ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਪੁਰਨ ਹਨ।
The Guru, the Lord of the Universe, the Supreme Lord God, is perfect.
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਅਰਾਧਿ; ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਧੀਰਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tiseh araadh; meraa man dheeraa | rahaau |
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਧੀਰਜਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
Worshipping Him, my mind has found a lasting peace. ||Pause||
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਪਉ; ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਮ ॥
anadin jpau; guroo gur naam |
ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਮੈਂ ਵਡੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
Night and day, I meditate on the Guru, and the Name of the Guru.
ਤਾ ਤੇ; ਸਿਧਿ ਭਏ ਸਗਲ ਕਾਂਮ ॥੨॥
taa te; sidh bhe sagal kaam |2|
ਜਿਸ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
Thus all my works are brought to perfection. ||2||
ਦਰਸਨ ਦੇਖਿ; ਸੀਤਲ ਮਨ ਭਏ ॥
darasan dekh; seetal man bhe |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਸ਼ਾਂਤਿ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ,
Beholding the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, my mind has become cool and tranquil,
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ; ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਗਏ ॥੩॥
janam janam ke; kilabikh ge |3|
ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਧੋਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
and the sinful mistakes of countless incarnations have been washed away. ||3||
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ; ਕਹਾ ਭੈ ਭਾਈ ॥
kahu naanak; kahaa bhai bhaaee |
ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ, ਹੁਣ ਡਰ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹੇ, ਹੇ ਭਰਾ?
Says Nanak, where is fear now, O Siblings of Destiny?
ਅਪਨੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੀ; ਆਪਿ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਾਈ ॥੪॥੧੧੨॥
apane sevak kee; aap paij rakhaaee |4|112|
ਆਪਣੇ ਟਹਿਲੁਏ ਦੀ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੈ।
The Guru Himself has preserved the honor of His servant. ||4||112||

ਅਪਨੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ; ਆਪਿ ਸਹਾਈ ॥
apane sevak kau; aap sahaaee |
ਆਪਣੇ ਗੋਲੇ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਹੈ।
The Lord Himself is the Help and Support of His servants.
ਨਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰੈ; ਬਾਪ ਜੈਸੇ ਮਾਈ ॥੧॥
nit pratipaarai; baap jaise maaee |1|
ਪਿਓ ਤੇ ਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਹ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਵਰਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
He always cherishes them, like their father and mother. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਿ; ਉਬਰੈ ਸਭ ਕੋਇ ॥
prabh kee saran; ubarai sabh koe |
ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਸਰਣਾਗਤ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
In God's Sanctuary, everyone is saved.
ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ; ਪੂਰਨ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
karan karaavan; pooran sach soe | rahaau |
ਉਹ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਸੱਚਾ ਮਾਲਕ, ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੇ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
That Perfect True Lord is the Doer, the Cause of causes. ||Pause||
ਅਬ ਮਨਿ ਬਸਿਆ; ਕਰਨੈਹਾਰਾ ॥
ab man basiaa; karanaihaaraa |
ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਸਦੀ ਹੈ।
My mind now dwells in the Creator Lord.
ਭੈ ਬਿਨਸੇ; ਆਤਮ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
bhai binase; aatam sukh saaraa |2|
ਡਰ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਠੰਢ-ਚੈਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
My fears have been dispelled, and my soul has found the most sublime peace. ||2||
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ; ਅਪਨੇ ਜਨ ਰਾਖੇ ॥
kar kirapaa; apane jan raakhe |
ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਮਾਸ਼ਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
The Lord has granted His Grace, and saved His humble servant.
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ; ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਲਾਥੇ ॥੩॥
janam janam ke; kilabikh laathe |3|
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਧੋਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
The sinful mistakes of so many incarnations have been washed away. ||3||
ਕਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ; ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
kehan na jaae; prabh kee vaddiaaee |
ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ।
The Greatness of God cannot be described.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ; ਸਦਾ ਸਰਨਾਈ ॥੪॥੧੧੩॥
naanak daas; sadaa saranaaee |4|113|
ਨੋਕਰ ਨਾਨਕ, ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਕੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ।
Servant Nanak is forever in His Sanctuary. ||4||113||
ਰਾਗੁ ਗਉੜੀ ਚੇਤੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਦੁਪਦੇ ॥

ਰਾਗੁ ਗਊੜੀ ਚੇਤੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਦੁਪਦੇ।

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik oankaar satigur prasaad |
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹੈ, ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਰਾਮ ਕੋ ਬਲੁ ਪੂਰਨ; ਭਾਈ ॥
raam ko bal pooran; bhaaee |
ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਹੈ ਸਤਿਆ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ, ਹੈ ਵੀਰ!
The power of the Lord is universal and perfect, O Siblings of Destiny.
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਬਿ੍ਰਥਾ; ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਕਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
taa te brithaa; na biaapai kaaee |1| rahaau |
ਇਸ ਲਈ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਕੋਈ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਾਪਰਦਾ ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
So no pain can ever afflict me. ||1||Pause||
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਚਿਤਵੈ; ਦਾਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਈ ॥
jo jo chitavai; daas har maaee |
ਜੋ ਕੁਛ ਭੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਗੋਲਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਹੇ ਮਾਤਾ!
Whatever the Lord's slave wishes, O mother,
ਸੋ ਸੋ ਕਰਤਾ; ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਈ ॥੧॥
so so karataa; aap karaaee |1|
ਉਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁਛ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਕਰਵਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ; ਪਤਿ ਗਵਾਈ ॥

ਬਦਖੋਈ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਗੁਆ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
God causes the slanderers to lose their honor.
