ਗਊੜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ।

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਬਾਹਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ! ਤਾਕਤਵਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਮੈਂ ਟੌਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿਗ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਂਗਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਪਕੜ ਲੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

O Brave and Powerful God, Ocean of Peace, I fell into the pit - please, take my hand. ||1||Pause||

ਮੇਰਿਆਂ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ, ਮੇਰੇ ਲੋਚਣ ਸੁਹਣੇ ਨਹੀਂ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ, ਦੁਖੀ ਤੇ ਪਿੰਗਲਾ, ਤੇਰੇ ਬੂਹੇ ਤੇ ਪੁਕਾਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

My ears do not hear, and my eyes are not beautiful. I am in such pain; I am a poor cripple, crying at Your Door. ||1||

ਹੈ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਤੇ ਨਿਖਸਮਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਖਸਮ ਅਤੇ ਦਇਆਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਸਰੂਪ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਦੋਸਤ, ਮਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਬਾਬਲ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਮੜੀ ਹੈ।

O Master of the poor and helpless, O Embodiment of Compassion, You are my Friend and Intimate, my Father and Mother.

ਨਾਨਕ, ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਕੰਵਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਨਾਲ ਘੁਟ ਕੇ ਲਾਈ ਰਖ, ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Nanak holds tight to the Lord's Lotus Feet in his heart; thus the Saints cross over the terrifying world-ocean. ||2||2||115||

Raag Gauree Bairaagan, Fifth Mehl:

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਹੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਪੂਜਯ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹੁ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

O Dear Lord God, my Best Friend, please, abide with me. ||1||Pause||

ਤੇਰੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਮੇ ਇਕ ਮੁਹਤ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਬਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਲਾਹਨਤ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਹਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਨੂੰ।

Without You, I cannot live, even for an instant, and my life in this world is cursed.

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਨਣੀਯ ਮਾਲਕ! ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀ ਤੇ ਜਿੰਦ ਜਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਰਾਮ ਬਖਸ਼ਣਹਾਰ ਹਰ ਮੂਹਤ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

O Breath of Life of the soul, O Giver of peace, each and every instant I am a sacrifice to You. ||1||

ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਦੇ ਹੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਟੋਏ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕਢ ਲੈ।

Please, God, give me the Support of Your Hand; lift me up and pull me out of this pit, O Lord of the World.

ਮੈਂ ਨੇਕੀ-ਵਿਹੁਣ ਤੇ ਥੋੜ੍ਹੀ ਸਮਝ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਾਂ, ਤੂੰ ਮਸਕੀਨ ਉਤੇ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੈ।

I am worthless, with such a shallow intellect; You are always Merciful to the meek. ||2||

ਤੇਰੇ ਦਿਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਮੈਂ ਯਾਦ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ?

What comforts of Yours can I dwell upon? How can I contemplate You?

ਹੈ ਉਚੇ, ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੋਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਅਭੇਦ ਕਰ ਲੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਲੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

You lovingly absorb Your slaves into Your Sanctuary, O Lofty, Inaccessible and Infinite Lord. ||3||

ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੌਲਤਾਂ ਅੱਠੇ ਕਰਾਮਾਤੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਆਂ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਪਰਮ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਹਨ।

All wealth, and the eight miraculous spiritual powers are in the supremely sublime essence of the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

ਉਹ ਪੁਰਸ਼, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਕੇਸਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਅਤੀ ਅਨੰਦ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

Those humble beings, with whom the beautifully-haired Lord is thoroughly pleased, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||4||

ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਅੰਮੜੀ, ਬਾਬਲ, ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਜਿੰਦ-ਜਾਨ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।

You are my mother, father, son and relative; You are the Support of the breath of life.

ਸਤਿ ਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਜ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਜਗਤ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, Nanak meditates on the Lord, and swims across the poisonous world-ocean. ||5||1||116||

ਗਊੜੀ ਬੈਰਾਗਣਿ ਰਹੋਏ ਕੇ ਛੱਤ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ।

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਕੀ ਕੋਈ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਵਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ?

Is there anyone who will sing of the Beloved Lord?

ਉਹ ਨਿਸਚਿਤ ਹੀ ਸਮੁੰਹ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਾ ਲਵੇਗਾ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Surely, this will bring all pleasures and comforts. ||Pause||

ਤਿਆਗੀ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜੰਗਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਢੁੰਡਣ ਲਈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

The renunciate goes out into the woods, searching for Him.

ਪਰ ਕੋਈ ਟਾਵਾਂ ਬੰਦਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਇਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

But those who embrace love for the One Lord are very rare.

ਭਾਰੇ ਨਸੀਬਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਜੋ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

Those who find the Lord are very fortunate and blessed. ||1||

ਉਸਦੇ ਲਈ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮਾਂ ਆਦਿ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਨਕ ਵਰਗੇ ਚਾਹਣਾ ਰਖਦੇ ਹਨ।

The Gods like Brahma and Sanak yearn for Him;

ਯੋਗੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਚਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਾਮਾਤੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਲਈ ਤਰਸਦੇ ਹਨ।

the Yogis, celibates and Siddhas yearn for the Lord.

ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਮਿਲੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਆਲਾਪਦਾ ਹੈ।

One who is so blessed, sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||2||

ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਸੰਭਾਲੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁਲਦਾ।

I seek the Sanctuary of those who have not forgotten Him.

ਭਾਰੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਸਾਧੂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

By great good fortune, one meets the Lord's Saint.

ਜੰਮਣ ਤੇ ਮਰਣ ਤੋਂ ਉਹ ਅਸਲੋਂ ਹੀ ਮੁਕਤ ਹਨ।

They are not subject to the cycle of birth and death. ||3||

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਠੜੇ ਮਹਿਬੂਬ, ਰਹਿਮਤ ਧਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਬਖਸ਼।

Show Your Mercy, and lead me to meet You, O my Darling Beloved.

ਮੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਕਰ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਬੁੰਲਦ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ!

Hear my prayer, O Lofty and Infinite God;

ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਹੀ ਯਾਚਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Nanak begs for the Support of Your Name. ||4||1||117||
