ਗਊੜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀ।

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਜਿਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਦਾਤਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਹਿਨਦਾ ਤੇ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,

They wear and eat the gifts from the Lord;

ਉਸ ਨਾਲ (ਉਹ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ) ਸੁਸਤੀ ਕਰਨੀ, ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਦਮੀ ਲਈ ਵਾਜਬ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਤਾ?

how can laziness help them, O mother? ||1||

ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਤ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਹੋਰਨਾ ਕਾਰਾ ਵਿਹਾਰਾ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਦੀ ਹੈ,

Forgetting her Husband Lord, and attaching herself to other affairs,

ਉਹ ਕੌਡੀ ਦੇ ਤਬਾਦਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਵੇਹਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਰੇ ਸੁਟ ਪਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

the soul-bride throws away the precious jewel in exchange for a mere shell. ||1||Pause||

ਉਹ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾ ਦੀ ਚਾਹਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਚਿਮੜੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।

Forsaking God, she is attached to other desires.

ਪਰ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਬਜਾਏ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੋਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਮਾਣ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ।

But who has gained honor by saluting the slave? ||2||

ਆਦਮੀ ਆਬਿ-ਹਿਯਾਤ ਵਰਗੇ ਸੁਆਦਲੇ ਖਾਣੇ ਤੇ ਪੀਣੇ ਭੁੰਚਦਾ ਹੈ।

They consume food and drink, delicious and sublime as ambrosial nectar.

ਪਰ ਕੁਤਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ, ਜੋ (ਇਹ ਵਸਤੂਆਂ) ਬਖਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

But the dog does not know the One who has bestowed these. ||3||

ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਲੂਣ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਬੁਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਾਂ।

Says Nanak, I have been unfaithful to my own nature.

ਹੈ ਅੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਜਾਨਣਹਾਰ! ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਨੂੰ ਮਾਫ ਕਰ ਦੇ।

Please forgive me, O God, O Searcher of hearts. ||4||76||145||

ਗਊੜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀ।

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਠਾਕੁਰ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾ ਦਾ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

I meditate on the Feet of God within my mind.

ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਇਕ ਸਮੂਹ ਯਾਤ੍ਰਾ-ਅਸਥਾਨਾ ਤੇ ਗੁਸਲ ਤੇ ਨ੍ਹਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ।

This is my cleansing bath at all the sacred shrines of pilgrimage. ||1||

ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰ, ਹੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੀਰ।

Meditate in remembrance on the Lord every day, O my Siblings of Destiny.

ਇੰਜ ਤੇਰੀ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾ ਜਨਮਾ ਦੀ ਮਲੀਨਤਾ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਏਗੀ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Thus, the filth of millions of incarnations shall be taken away. ||1||Pause||

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਧਰਮ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਆਪਦੇ ਮਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ,

Enshrine the Lord's Sermon within your heart,

ਤੂੰ ਆਪਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮੁਰਾਦਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਵੇਗਾ।

and you shall obtain all the desires of your mind. ||2||

ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਉਸਦੀ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ, ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾਇਸ਼,

Redeemed is the life, death and birth of those,

ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਮਾਲਕ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਰਖਦਾ ਹੈ।

within whose hearts the Lord God abides. ||3||

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪੂਰਨ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਪੁਰਸ਼,

Says Nanak, those humble beings are perfect,

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਤਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾ ਦੀ ਧੂੜੀ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਮਿਲੀ ਹੈ।

who are blessed with the dust of the feet of the Holy. ||4||77||146||

ਗਊੜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀ।

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਜੋ ਭੁੰਚਦਾ, ਪਹਿਰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਨਕਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,

They eat and wear what they are given, but still, they deny the Lord.

ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਮ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਕਾਸਦ ਤਕਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

The messengers of the Righteous Judge of Dharma shall hunt them down. ||1||

ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਬੇਈਮਾਨ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਦਿਤੇ ਹਨ।

They are unfaithful to the One, who has given them body and soul.

ਉਹ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾਇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਘਲੇਰੀਆਂ ਜੂਨੀਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Through millions of incarnations, for so many lifetimes, they wander lost. ||1||Pause||

ਐਹੋ ਜੇਹੇ ਹੈ ਜੀਵਨ-ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪੁਜਾਰੀ ਦੀ,

Such is the lifestyle of the faithless cynics;

ਜੋ ਕੁਛ ਭੀ ਉਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਮੰਦੀ ਰੀਤ ਹੀ ਹੈ।

everything they do is evil. ||2||

ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ, ਜਿੰਦ ਜਾਨ ਮਨੂਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਸਾਜੇ ਹਨ,

Within their minds, they have forgotten that Lord and Master,

ਆਪਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰੋ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Who created the soul, breath of life, mind and body. ||3||

ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਘਨੇਰੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਢੇਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਾਗਜ਼ਾਂ ਤੇ ਉਕਰੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

Their wickedness and corruption have increased - they are recorded in volumes of books.

ਨਾਨਕ ਆਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪਾਪੀ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

O Nanak, they are saved only by the Mercy of God, the Ocean of peace. ||4||

ਹੈ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸ਼ਰਣਾਗਤ ਸੰਭਾਲੀ ਹੈ।

O Supreme Lord God, I have come to Your Sanctuary.

ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਬੇੜੀਆਂ ਵਢ ਦੇ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਤਰ ਕੇ ਪਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਵਾਂ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ।

Break my bonds, and carry me across, with the Lord's Name. ||1||Second Pause||78||147||

ਗਊੜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀ।

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਆਪਣੇ ਭਲੇ ਲਈ ਆਦਮੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਦਾ ਮਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਬਦਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

For their own advantage, they make God their friend.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਮੂਹ ਦੌਲਤ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਖਸ਼ ਦੀ ਪਦਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

He fulfills all their desires, and blesses them with the state of liberation. ||1||

ਸਾਰੇ ਜਣੇ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ (ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ) ਨੂੰ ਆਪਦਾ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਬਣਾਓ।

Everyone should make Him such a friend.

ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲੋ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਖਾਲੀ ਹਥੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੁੜਦਾ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

No one goes away empty-handed from Him. ||1||Pause||

ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿੱਜ ਦੇ ਮਤਲਬ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ,

For their own purposes, they enshrine the Lord in the heart;

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਤਕਲੀਫ, ਪੀੜਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬੀਮਾਰੀਆਂ, ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

all pain, suffering and disease are taken away. ||2||

ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਜੀਭਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਹਿਲਤਰ ਪੈ ਗਈ ਹੈ,

Their tongues learn the habit of chanting the Lord's Name,

ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਰਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

and all their works are brought to perfection. ||3||

ਕਈ ਦਫਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਉਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,

So many times, Nanak is a sacrifice to Him;

ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਫਲ-ਦਾਇਕ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।

fruitful is the Blessed Vision, the Darshan, of my Lord of the Universe. ||4||79||148||

ਗਊੜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀ।

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਇਕ ਮੁਹਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾ ਹੀ ਔਕੜਾ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਲ,

Millions of obstacles are removed in an instant,

ਜੋ ਸਤਿਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਧਰਮ ਵਾਰਤਾ ਸਰਵਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

for those who listen to the Sermon of the Lord, Har, Har, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1||

ਉਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਸੁਧਾਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਕਰ ਦੇਣਹਾਰ ਹੈ।

They drink in the sublime essence of the Lord's Name, the Ambrosial Elixir.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਾਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਭੁਖ ਨਵਿਰਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Meditating on the Lord's Feet, hunger is taken away. ||1||Pause||

ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਤੇ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਖਜਾਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,

The treasure of all happiness, celestial peace and poise,

ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਰਖਦਾ ਹੈ।

are obtained by those, whose hearts are filled with the Lord God. ||2||
