ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਮਹਾਨ ਚੰਗੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਬੰਦਾ ਸਤਿਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਜੁੜਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਹੇ ਗੋਲੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਰਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

By great good fortune, one joins the Sangat, the Holy Congregation, O my Lord of the Universe; O servant Nanak, through the Naam, one's affairs are resolved. ||4||4||30||68||

ਗਊੜੀ ਮਾਝ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਚੌਥੀ।

Gauree Maajh, Fourth Mehl:

ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੇ ਰੱਬ ਲਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

The Lord has implanted a longing for the Lord's Name within me.

ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਯਾਰ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

I have met the Lord God, my Best Friend, and I have found peace.

ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਤਾ।

Beholding my Lord God, I live, O my mother.

ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੇਰਾ ਬੇਲੀ ਤੇ ਵੀਰ ਹੈ।

The Lord's Name is my Friend and Brother. ||1||

ਹੇ ਪੁਜਯ ਸਾਧੂਓ! ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰੋ।

O Dear Saints, sing the Glorious Praises of my Lord God.

ਓ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਮ ਚੰਗੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਵਾਲਿਓ! ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰੋ।

As Gurmukh, chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord, O very fortunate ones.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ-ਜਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਹਨ।

The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is my soul and my breath of life.

ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ।

I shall never again have to cross over the terrifying world-ocean. ||2||

ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਦੀ ਸੱਧਰ, ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਤੱਕਾਗਾ?

How shall I behold my Lord God? My mind and body yearn for Him.

ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿਓ ਹੇ ਪਤਵੰਤੇ ਸਾਧੂਓ! ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।

Unite me with the Lord, Dear Saints; my mind is in love with Him.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, I have found the Sovereign Lord, my Beloved.

ਹੇ ਭਾਰੇ ਭਾਗਾ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਕਰ।

O very fortunate ones, chant the Name of the Lord. ||3||

ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਲਈ ਭਾਰੀ ਚਾਹਨਾ ਹੈ।

Within my mind and body, there is such a great longing for God, the Lord of the Universe.

ਹੇ ਸਾਧ ਜਨੋ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿਓ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਨਜਦੀਕ ਹੈ।

Unite me with the Lord, Dear Saints. God, the Lord of the Universe, is so close to me.

ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਖਮਤ ਦੇ ਜਰੀਏ, ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਵਾਨ ਹੈ।

Through the Teachings of the True Guru, the Naam is always revealed;

ਗੋਲੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ!

the desires of servant Nanak's mind have been fulfilled. ||4||5||31||69||

ਗਊੜੀ ਮਾਝ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਚੋਥੀ।

Gauree Maajh, Fourth Mehl:

ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਵੇ ਕੇਵਲ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਜੀਉ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

If I receive my Love, the Naam, then I live.

ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸੁਧਾਰਸ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਨ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।

In the temple of the mind, is the Ambrosial Nectar of the Lord; through the Guru's Teachings, we drink it in.

ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਜੀ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ, ਭਗਵਾਨ ਦਾ ਅਬਿ-ਹਿਯਾਤ ਛਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

My mind is drenched with the Love of the Lord. I continually drink in the sublime essence of the Lord.

ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੈਂ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

I have found the Lord within my mind, and so I live. ||1||

ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਨੇ ਨੇਹੁੰ ਦੇ ਤੀਰ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਵਿਨ੍ਹ ਸੁਟੇ ਹਨ।

The arrow of the Lord's Love has pierced by mind and body.

ਸਾਹਿਬ ਮਾਲਕ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਨੇਹੀ ਯਾਰ ਹੈ।

The Lord, the Primal Being, is All-knowing; He is my Beloved and my Best Friend.

ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਧੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਰਬਗ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਕੁਛ-ਵੇਖਣਹਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਦਿਤਾ ਹੈ।

The Saintly Guru has united me with the All-knowing and All-seeing Lord.

ਮੈਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਉਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

I am a sacrifice to the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||2||

ਮੈਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਯਾਰ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਬਾਰੇ ਪੁਛ-ਗਿਛ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

I seek my Lord, Har, Har, my Intimate, my Best Friend.

ਹੇ ਪਤਵੰਤੇ ਸਾਧੂਓ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਥਹੁ ਪਤਾ ਦਿਓ। ਮੈਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਢੂੰਡ ਭਾਲ ਕਰਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

Show me the way to the Lord, Dear Saints; I am searching all over for Him.

ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਗ ਵਿਖਾਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ।

The Kind and Compassionate True Guru has shown me the Way, and I have found the Lord.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮੈਂ ਖੁਦ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ।

Through the Name of the Lord, I am absorbed in the Naam. ||3||

ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਵਾਲੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੀ ਪੀੜ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।

I am consumed with the pain of separation from the Love of the Lord.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਰ ਦਿਤੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਂ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਧਾਰਸ ਚੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

The Guru has fulfilled my desire, and I have received the Ambrosial Nectar in my mouth.

ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ-ਸਰੂਪ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਾਂ।

The Lord has become merciful, and now I meditate on the Name of the Lord.

ਗੁਮਾਸਤੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।

Servant Nanak has obtained the sublime essence of the Lord. ||4||6||20||18||32||70||

ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਰਾਗੁ ਗਊੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਚਉਪਦੇ।

Fifth Mehl, Raag Gauree Gwaarayree, Chau-Padhay:

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਕਿਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਰੂਹਾਨੀ ਅਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਾਵਾ?

How can happiness be found, O my Siblings of Destiny?

ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ, ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

How can the Lord, our Help and Support, be found? ||1||Pause||

ਸਾਰੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਨਿੱਜ ਦੀ ਆਖਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਹੀਂ,

There is no happiness in owning one's own home, in all of Maya,

ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਸੁਹਣੇ ਛਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਉਚੇ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਿੱਚ।

or in lofty mansions casting beautiful shadows.

ਕੁੜੀ ਤਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ-ਜੀਵਨ ਗੁਆ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।

In fraud and greed, this human life is being wasted. ||1||
