ਲੱਜਿਆ ਤੇ ਗਿਆਤ ਦੋਨੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੱਸ ਤੇ ਸਹੁਰਾ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
Modesty, humility and intuitive understanding are my mother-in-law and father-in-law;
ਕਰਣੀ ਕਾਮਣਿ; ਕਰਿ ਮਨ ਲਏ ॥੨॥
karanee kaaman; kar man le |2|
ਚੰਗੇ ਅਮਲਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਤੇ ਮੰਨ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
I have made good deeds my spouse. ||2||
ਸਾਹਾ ਸੰਜੋਗੁ; ਵੀਆਹੁ ਵਿਜੋਗੁ ॥

ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਮੇਰਾ ਸ਼ਾਦੀ ਦਾ ਵੇਲ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਟੁਟ ਜਾਣਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਕਾਰਜ।
Union with the Holy is my wedding date, and separation from the world is my marriage.
ਸਚੁ ਸੰਤਤਿ; ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋਗੁ ॥੩॥੩॥

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਐਸੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਚ ਦੀ ਸੰਤਾਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
Says Nanak, Truth is the child born of this Union. ||3||3||

ਪਉਣੈ ਪਾਣੀ; ਅਗਨੀ ਕਾ ਮੇਲੁ ॥

ਦੇਹਿ ਹਵਾ, ਜਲ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਗ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੈ।
The union of air, water and fire
ਚੰਚਲ ਚਪਲ; ਬੁਧਿ ਕਾ ਖੇਲੁ ॥

ਇਹ ਚੁਲਬੁਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਨਿਸਥਿਰ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਖਿਡੌਣਾ ਹੈ।
the body is the play-thing of the fickle and unsteady intellect.
ਨਉ ਦਰਵਾਜੇ; ਦਸਵਾ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥

ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨੌ ਬੂਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਦਸਵਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ,
It has nine doors, and then there is the Tenth Gate.
ਬੁਝੁ ਰੇ ਗਿਆਨੀ; ਏਹੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥੧॥

ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾ ਤੇ ਸੋਚ ਵਿਚਾਰ, ਹੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬੇਤੇ!
Reflect upon this and understand it, O wise one. ||1||
ਕਥਤਾ ਬਕਤਾ; ਸੁਨਤਾ ਸੋਈ ॥
kathataa bakataa; sunataa soee |
ਉਹ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਬੋਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਕਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੋਤਾ ਹੈ।
The Lord is the One who speaks, teaches and listens.
ਆਪੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ; ਸੁ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aap beechaare; su giaanee hoee |1| rahaau |
ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪੇ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਨਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
One who contemplates his own self is truly wise. ||1||Pause||
ਦੇਹੀ ਮਾਟੀ; ਬੋਲੈ ਪਉਣੁ ॥

ਦੇਹਿ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਵਾ ਉਸ ਅੰਦਰ ਬੋਲਦੀ ਹੈ।
The body is dust; the wind speaks through it.
ਬੁਝੁ ਰੇ ਗਿਆਨੀ; ਮੂਆ ਹੈ. ਕਉਣੁ ॥
bujh re giaanee; mooaa hai. kaun |
ਸੋਚ ਕਰ, ਹੇ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਬੰਦੇ! ਉਹ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
Understand, O wise one, who has died.
ਮੂਈ ਸੁਰਤਿ; ਬਾਦੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ॥
mooee surat; baad ahankaar |
ਇਹ ਅੰਤ੍ਰੀਵੀ ਗਿਆਤ, ਲੜਾਈ ਝਗੜਾ ਤੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਮਰ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
Awareness, conflict and ego have died,
ਓਹੁ ਨ ਮੂਆ; ਜੋ ਦੇਖਣਹਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
ohu na mooaa; jo dekhanahaar |2|
ਜੋ ਵੇਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਫੌਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।
but the One who sees does not die. ||2||
ਜੈ ਕਾਰਣਿ; ਤਟਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਜਾਹੀ ॥
jai kaaran; tatt teerath jaahee |
ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਖਾਤਰ ਤੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਨਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਕਿਨਾਰਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ,
For the sake of it, you journey to sacred shrines and holy rivers;
ਰਤਨ ਪਦਾਰਥ; ਘਟ ਹੀ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
ratan padaarath; ghatt hee maahee |
ਉਹ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਜਵੇਹਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਮਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
but this priceless jewel is within your own heart.
ਪੜਿ ਪੜਿ ਪੰਡਿਤੁ; ਬਾਦੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥
parr parr panddit; baad vakhaanai |
ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮਨ ਇਕ ਰਸ ਵਾਚਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਹਿਸ ਮੁਬਾਹਿਸੇ ਉਚਾਰਦੇ (ਕਰਦੇ) ਹਨ,
The Pandits, the religious scholars, read and read endlessly; they stir up arguments and controversies,
ਭੀਤਰਿ ਹੋਦੀ; ਵਸਤੁ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ॥੩॥
bheetar hodee; vasat na jaanai |3|
ਪਰ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਚੀਜ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
but they do not know the secret deep within. ||3||
ਹਉ ਨ ਮੂਆ; ਮੇਰੀ ਮੁਈ ਬਲਾਇ ॥
hau na mooaa; meree muee balaae |
ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰਿਆ, ਸਗੋਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਅਗਿਆਨਤਾ ਮਰ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
I have not died - that evil nature within me has died.
ਓਹੁ ਨ ਮੂਆ; ਜੋ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
ohu na mooaa; jo rahiaa samaae |
ਜੋ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰਦਾ।
The One who is pervading everywhere does not die.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ; ਗੁਰਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥
kahu naanak; gur braham dikhaaeaa |
ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫੁਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਨੂੰ ਵਿਅਪਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵਿਖਾਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ,
Says Nanak, the Guru has revealed God to me,
ਮਰਤਾ ਜਾਤਾ; ਨਦਰਿ ਨ ਆਇਆ ॥੪॥੪॥
marataa jaataa; nadar na aaeaa |4|4|
ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਮਰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਜੰਮਦਾ ਮਲੂਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।
and now I see that there is no such thing as birth or death. ||4||4||

ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਬੂਝੈ; ਮਾਨੈ ਨਾਉ ॥
sun sun boojhai; maanai naau |
ਜੋ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਸੁਣਦਾ, ਸਮਝਦਾ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
I am forever a sacrifice to the one who listens and hears,
ਤਾ ਕੈ, ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ॥
taa kai, sad balihaarai jaau |
ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਉਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹਾਂ।
Who understands and believes in the Name.
ਆਪਿ ਭੁਲਾਏ; ਠਉਰ ਨ ਠਾਉ ॥
aap bhulaae; tthaur na tthaau |
ਜਦ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਖੁਦ ਗੁਮਰਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਥਾਂ ਜਾ ਵਸੇਬਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ।
When the Lord Himself leads us astray, there is no other place of rest for us to find.
ਤੂੰ ਸਮਝਾਵਹਿ; ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਉ ॥੧॥
toon samajhaaveh; mel milaau |1|
ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਜਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਅੰਦਰ ਮਿਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
You impart understanding, and You unite us in Your Union. ||1||
ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ; ਚਲੈ ਮੈ ਨਾਲਿ ॥
naam milai; chalai mai naal |
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਵੇ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਥ ਜਾਏਗਾ।
I obtain the Naam, which shall go along with me in the end.
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ; ਬਾਧੀ ਸਭ ਕਾਲਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bin naavai; baadhee sabh kaal |1| rahaau |
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਮੌਤ ਨੇ ਨਰੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
Without the Name, all are held in the grip of Death. ||1||Pause||
ਖੇਤੀ ਵਣਜੁ; ਨਾਵੈ ਕੀ ਓਟ ॥
khetee vanaj; naavai kee ott |
ਮੇਰੀ ਵਾਹੀ ਤੇ ਸੁਦਾਗਰੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
My farming and my trading are by the Support of the Name.
ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ; ਬੀਜ ਕੀ ਪੋਟ ॥
paap pun; beej kee pott |
ਬਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਨੇਕੀ ਦੇ ਬੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਇਕ ਗਠੜੀ ਹੈ।
The seeds of sin and virtue are bound together.
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ; ਜੀਅ ਮਹਿ ਚੋਟ ॥
kaam krodh; jeea meh chott |
ਮਿਥਨ ਵੇਗ ਤੇ ਰੋਹੁ ਅੰਤਸ਼ਕਰਣ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਖਮ ਹਨ।
Sexual desire and anger are the wounds of the soul.
ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ; ਚਲੇ ਮਨਿ ਖੋਟ ॥੨॥
naam visaar; chale man khott |2|
ਮੰਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਾਲੇ ਰਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਤੁਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
The evil-minded ones forget the Naam, and then depart. ||2||
ਸਾਚੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ; ਸਾਚੀ ਸੀਖ ॥
saache gur kee; saachee seekh |
ਸੱਚੀ ਹੈ ਸਿਖਿਆ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ।
True are the Teachings of the True Guru.
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ; ਸਾਚੁ ਪਰੀਖ ॥
tan man seetal; saach pareekh |
ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਅਸਲੀ ਕਦਰ ਜਾਨਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਦੇਹਿ ਤੇ ਦਿਲ ਠੰਢੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
The body and mind are cooled and soothed, by the touchstone of Truth.
ਜਲ ਪੁਰਾਇਨਿ; ਰਸ ਕਮਲ ਪਰੀਖ ॥
jal puraaein; ras kamal pareekh |
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਖਿਆ ਇਹ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਉਹ ਚੁੱਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਕੰਵਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੀ ਮਾਨਿੰਦ, ਜਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਟੰਕ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
This is the true mark of wisdom: that one remains detached, like the water-lily, or the lotus upon the water.
ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੇ; ਮੀਠੇ ਰਸ ਈਖ ॥੩॥

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ, ਉਹ ਕਮਾਦ ਦੇ ਰਹੁ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਹੈ।
Attuned to the Word of the Shabad, one becomes sweet, like the juice of the sugar cane. ||3||
ਹੁਕਮਿ ਸੰਜੋਗੀ; ਗੜਿ ਦਸ ਦੁਆਰ ॥
hukam sanjogee; garr das duaar |
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਫੁਰਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਉਤੇ ਦਸਾਂ ਦਰਵਾਜਿਆਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਵਜੂਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ।
By the Hukam of the Lord's Command, the castle of the body has ten gates.
ਪੰਚ ਵਸਹਿ; ਮਿਲਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
panch vaseh; mil jot apaar |
ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜ ਮੰਦ-ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਵੇਗ, ਅਨੰਤ ਰਬੀ ਨੂਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ!
The five passions dwell there, together with the Divine Light of the Infinite.
ਆਪਿ ਤੁਲੈ; ਆਪੇ ਵਣਜਾਰ ॥
aap tulai; aape vanajaar |
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਖੁਦ ਜੋਖੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੌਦਾ ਸੂਤ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਸੁਦਾਗਰ।
The Lord Himself is the merchandise, and He Himself is the trader.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਨਾਮਿ ਸਵਾਰਣਹਾਰ ॥੪॥੫॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਈਸ਼ਵਰ-ਪਰਾਇਣ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।

ਉਹ ਕਿਥੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਕਿਥੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ?
Where did we originate, and where will we go and merge?
ਕਿਉ ਬਾਧਿਓ; ਕਿਉ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
kiau baadhio; kiau mukatee paavai |
ਉਹ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਕੜਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਲਿਆਨ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ?
How are we bound, and how do we obtain liberation?
ਕਿਉ; ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥੧॥

ਉਹ ਕਿਸ ਤਰਾ ਸੁਖੈਨ ਹੀ ਅਮਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ?
How do we merge with intuitive ease into the Eternal, Imperishable Lord? ||1||
ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ; ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
naam ridai; amrit mukh naam |
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਮ ਤੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਧਾਰਸ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਮਨੁਸ਼ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਸਰੂਪ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
With the Naam in the heart and the Ambrosial Naam on our lips,
ਨਰਹਰ ਨਾਮੁ; ਨਰਹਰ ਨਿਹਕਾਮੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਸਬਜ਼ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਛਿਆ-ਰਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
through the Name of the Lord, we rise above desire, like the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਸਹਜੇ ਆਵੈ; ਸਹਜੇ ਜਾਇ ॥
sahaje aavai; sahaje jaae |
ਕਾਨੂਨ-ਕੁਦਰਤ ਦੇ ਅਨੀਨ ਆਦਮੀ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਨੂਨ-ਕੁਦਰਤ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਟੁਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
With intuitive ease we come, and with intuitive ease we depart.
ਮਨ ਤੇ ਉਪਜੈ; ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
man te upajai; man maeh samaae |
ਮਨੁਏ ਦੀਆਂ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਹ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੁਏ ਦੀਆਂ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
From the mind we originate, and into the mind we are absorbed.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮੁਕਤੋ; ਬੰਧੁ. ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥

ਗੁਰੂ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਬੰਦਖਲਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੰਜਾਲਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ।
As Gurmukh, we are liberated, and are not bound.
ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ; ਛੁਟੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਇ ॥੨॥

ਉਹ ਰੱਬੀ ਕਲਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਚਦਾ, ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਰੰਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਪਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Contemplating the Word of the Shabad, we are emancipated through the Name of the Lord. ||2||
ਤਰਵਰ ਪੰਖੀ; ਬਹੁ ਨਿਸਿ ਬਾਸੁ ॥
taravar pankhee; bahu nis baas |
ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੰਛੀ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਰੁਖ ਤੇ ਆ ਟਿਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
At night, lots of birds settle on the tree.
ਸੁਖ ਦੁਖੀਆ; ਮਨਿ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਣਾਸੁ ॥
sukh dukheea; man moh vinaas |
ਕਈ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਕਈ ਨਾਂ-ਖੁਸ਼ ਮਨੂਏ ਦੀ ਲਗਨ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Some are happy, and some are sad. Caught in the desires of the mind, they perish.
ਸਾਝ ਬਿਹਾਗ; ਤਕਹਿ ਆਗਾਸੁ ॥
saajh bihaag; takeh aagaas |
ਜਦ ਰਾਤ ਬੀਤ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਅਸਮਾਨ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਨ।
And when the life-night comes to its end, then they look to the sky.
ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਧਾਵਹਿ; ਕਰਮਿ ਲਿਖਿਆਸੁ ॥੩॥
deh dis dhaaveh; karam likhiaas |3|
ਲਿੱਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਉਹ ਦਸਾਂ ਪਸਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਡ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
They fly away in all ten directions, according to their pre-ordained destiny. ||3||
