ਤੀਜੈ. ਮੁਹੀ ਗਿਰਾਹ; ਭੁਖ ਤਿਖਾ ਦੁਇ. ਭਉਕੀਆ ॥

ਤੀਜੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਦ ਖੁਦਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਆਸ ਦੋਵੇ ਟਊਂ ਟਊਂ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਭੋਜਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੁਰਕੀਆਂ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
In the third watch, both hunger and thirst bark for attention, and food is put into the mouth.
ਖਾਧਾ ਹੋਇ ਸੁਆਹ; ਭੀ ਖਾਣੇ ਸਿਉ ਦੋਸਤੀ ॥
khaadhaa hoe suaah; bhee khaane siau dosatee |
ਜੋ ਖਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਭਸਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਤਾਂ ਭੀ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀ ਖਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਯਾਰੀ ਹੈ।
That which is eaten becomes dust, but they are still attached to eating.
ਚਉਥੈ ਆਈ ਊਂਘ; ਅਖੀ ਮੀਟਿ. ਪਵਾਰਿ ਗਇਆ ॥

ਚੌਥੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਨੀਦਰ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਅ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਮੀਚ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਪਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੰਡਲ ਵਿੰਚ ਚਲਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
In the fourth watch, they become drowsy. They close their eyes and begin to dream.
ਭੀ. ਉਠਿ ਰਚਿਓਨੁ ਵਾਦੁ; ਸੈ ਵਰਿੑਆ ਕੀ ਪਿੜ ਬਧੀ ॥
bhee. utth rachion vaad; sai varaa kee pirr badhee |
ਉਠ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਬਖੇੜਾ ਖੜਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਉਂ ਅਖਾੜਾ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੈਕੜੇ ਸਾਲ ਜਿਊਣਾ ਹੈ।
Rising up again, they engage in conflicts; they set the stage as if they will live for 100 years.
ਸਭੇ ਵੇਲਾ ਵਖਤ ਸਭਿ; ਜੇ ਅਠੀ ਭਉ ਹੋਇ ॥
sabhe velaa vakhat sabh; je atthee bhau hoe |
ਜੇਕਰ ਦਿਨ ਦੇ ਅੱਠਾਂ ਹੀ ਪਹਿਰਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ, ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਵਕਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਮੁਹਤ ਵਿੱਚ, ਬੰਦਾ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰੇ।
If at all times, at each and every moment, they live in the fear of God
ਨਾਨਕ. ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ; ਸਚਾ ਨਾਵਣੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਤਾਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸੱਚਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ।
-O Nanak, the Lord dwells within their minds, and their cleansing bath is true. ||1||

ਸੇਈ ਪੂਰੇ ਸਾਹ; ਜਿਨੀ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥

ਉਹੀ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਸ਼ਾਹੂਕਾਰ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
They are the perfect kings, who have found the Perfect Lord.
ਅਠੀ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹ; ਰਹਨਿ ਇਕਤੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥
atthee veparavaah; rehan ikatai rang |
ਦਿਨ ਦੇ ਅਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਉਹ ਬੇਮੁਹਤਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Twenty-four hours a day, they remain unconcerned, imbued with the Love of the One Lord.
ਦਰਸਨਿ ਰੂਪਿ ਅਥਾਹ; ਵਿਰਲੇ ਪਾਈਅਹਿ ॥

ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਹੀ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
Only a few obtain the Darshan, the Blessed Vision of the Unimaginably Beauteous Lord.
ਕਰਮਿ ਪੂਰੈ. ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ; ਪੂਰਾ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਬੋਲੁ ॥

ਪੂਰਨ ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਬਿਲਾਸ ਪੂਰਨ ਹਨ।
Through the perfect karma of good deeds, one meets the Perfect Guru, whose speech is perfect.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਪੂਰਾ ਜੇ ਕਰੇ; ਘਟੈ ਨਾਹੀ. ਤੋਲੁ ॥੨॥

ਨਾਨਕ, ਜੇਕਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਬਣਾ ਦੇਣ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਵਜਨ ਘੱਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।
O Nanak, when the Guru makes one perfect, one's weight does not decrease. ||2||

ਜਾ ਤੂੰ ਤਾ ਕਿਆ ਹੋਰਿ; ਮੈ ਸਚੁ ਸੁਣਾਈਐ ॥

ਜਦ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਾਕੀ ਹੋਰ ਕੀ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ? ਮੈਂ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਈਂ।
When You are with me, what more could I want? I speak only the Truth.
ਮੁਠੀ ਧੰਧੈ ਚੋਰਿ; ਮਹਲੁ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
mutthee dhandhai chor; mehal na paaeeai |
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੋਰਟੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਹਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਠੱਗ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।
Plundered by the thieves of worldly affairs, she does not obtain the Mansion of His Presence.
ਏਨੈ ਚਿਤਿ ਕਠੋਰਿ; ਸੇਵ ਗਵਾਈਐ ॥

ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਇਤਨਾ ਪੱਥਰ ਦਿਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਦਾ ਅਵੁਸਰ ਗੁਆ ਲੈਂ ਦੀ ਹੈ।
Being so stone-hearted, she has lost her chance to serve the Lord.
ਜਿਤੁ ਘਟਿ. ਸਚੁ ਨ ਪਾਇ; ਸੁ ਭੰਨਿ ਘੜਾਈਐ ॥
jit ghatt. sach na paae; su bhan gharraaeeai |
ਜਿਸ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੱਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੰਨ ਕੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਸਿਰਿਓਂ, ਬਨਾਉਣਾ ਉਚਿੱਤ ਹੈ।
That heart, in which the True Lord is not found, should be torn down and re-built.
ਕਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਵਟਿ; ਤੋਲਿ ਤੁਲਾਈਐ ॥

ਜਦ ਉਹ ਪੂਰੇ ਵੱਟਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋਖੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਵਜਨ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਠੀਕ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
How can she be weighed accurately, upon the scale of perfection?
ਕੋਇ. ਨ ਆਖੈ ਘਟਿ; ਹਉਮੈ ਜਾਈਐ ॥
koe. na aakhai ghatt; haumai jaaeeai |
ਜੇਕਰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਹੰਗਤਾ ਚਲੀ ਜਾਵੇ, ਕੋਈ ਜਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਹੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਭਾਰੋਂ ਕੱਸੀ ਹੈ।
No one will say that her weight has been shorted, if she rids herself of egotism.
ਲਈਅਨਿ ਖਰੇ ਪਰਖਿ; ਦਰਿ ਬੀਨਾਈਐ ॥

ਸਭ ਕੁਛ ਵੇਖਣਹਾਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਅਸਲੀ ਜਾਂਚੇ ਪੜਤਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਕਬੂਲ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
The genuine are assayed, and accepted in the Court of the All-knowing Lord.
ਸਉਦਾ ਇਕਤੁ ਹਟਿ; ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੧੭॥

ਸੱਚਾ ਸੌਦਾ ਸੂਤ ਕੇਵਲ ਇੱਕ ਹੀ ਦੁਕਾਨ ਵਿੰਚ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The genuine merchandise is found only in one shop-it is obtained from the Perfect Guru. ||17||

ਅਠੀ ਪਹਰੀ. ਅਠ ਖੰਡ; ਨਾਵਾ ਖੰਡੁ ਸਰੀਰੁ ॥
atthee paharee. atth khandd; naavaa khandd sareer |
ਦਿਹੁੰ ਰੈਣ ਦੇ ਅੱਠਾਂ ਪਹਿਰਾਂ, ਅੰਦਰ, ਹੇ ਜੀਵ! ਤੂੰ ਅੱਠ ਚੀਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ। ਪੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ-ਨਾਸਕ ਪਾਪ ਅਤੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਗੁਣ। ਨੌਵੀਂ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਦੇਹਿ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਬੂ ਕਰ।
Twenty-four hours a day, destroy the eight things, and in the ninth place, conquer the body.
ਤਿਸੁ ਵਿਚਿ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਏਕੁ; ਭਾਲਹਿ ਗੁਣੀ ਗਹੀਰੁ ॥

ਉਸ ਦੇਹਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਅਦੁਤੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਨੌਂ ਖਜਾਨੇ ਹਨ। ਨੇਕ ਅਤੇ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਉਹਨਾ ਖਜਾਨਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਦੇ ਹਨ।
Within the body are the nine treasures of the Name of the Lord-seek the depths of these virtues.
ਕਰਮਵੰਤੀ ਸਾਲਾਹਿਆ; ਨਾਨਕ. ਕਰਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੀਰੁ ॥
karamavantee saalaahiaa; naanak. kar gur peer |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਰੂਹਾਨੀ ਰਹਿਬਰ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ!
Those blessed with the karma of good actions praise the Lord. O Nanak, they make the Guru their spiritual teacher.
ਚਉਥੈ ਪਹਰਿ ਸਬਾਹ ਕੈ; ਸੁਰਤਿਆ ਉਪਜੈ ਚਾਉ ॥

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਦੇ ਚੌਥੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਤਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਤ ਸਮਝ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੰਚ ਉਮਾਹ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
In the fourth watch of the early morning hours, a longing arises in their higher consciousness.
ਤਿਨਾ ਦਰੀਆਵਾ ਸਿਉ ਦੋਸਤੀ; ਮਨਿ ਮੁਖਿ. ਸਚਾ ਨਾਉ ॥
tinaa dareeaavaa siau dosatee; man mukh. sachaa naau |
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਯਾਰੀ ਦਰਿਆਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅਤੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਚਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੈ।
They are attuned to the river of life; the True Name is in their minds and on their lips.
ਓਥੈ ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤੁ ਵੰਡੀਐ; ਕਰਮੀ ਹੋਇ ਪਸਾਉ ॥
othai amrit vanddeeai; karamee hoe pasaau |
ਉਥੇ ਸੁਧਾ-ਰਸ ਵਰਤਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।
The Ambrosial Nectar is distributed, and those with good karma receive this gift.
ਕੰਚਨ ਕਾਇਆ ਕਸੀਐ; ਵੰਨੀ ਚੜੈ ਚੜਾਉ ॥
kanchan kaaeaa kaseeai; vanee charrai charraau |
ਸਰੀਰ ਸੋਨੇ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਰਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਤਮਿਕ ਉਨਤੀ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Their bodies become golden, and take on the color of spirituality.
ਜੇ ਹੋਵੈ ਨਦਰਿ ਸਰਾਫ ਕੀ; ਬਹੁੜਿ. ਨ ਪਾਈ ਤਾਉ ॥
je hovai nadar saraaf kee; bahurr. na paaee taau |
ਜੇਕਰ ਜਵਾਹਰੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜਰ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਅੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ।
If the Jeweller casts His Glance of Grace, they are not placed in the fire again.
ਸਤੀ ਪਹਰੀ. ਸਤੁ ਭਲਾ; ਬਹੀਐ ਪੜਿਆ ਪਾਸਿ ॥

ਬਾਕੀ ਦਿਆਂ ਸੱਤਾਂ ਪਹਿਰਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੱਚ ਬੋਲਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਵਾਨ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਬੈਠਣਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ।
Throughout the other seven watches of the day, it is good to speak the Truth, and sit with the spiritually wise.
ਓਥੈ. ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੀਐ; ਕੂੜੈ ਘਟੈ ਰਾਸਿ ॥
othai. paap pun beechaareeai; koorrai ghattai raas |
ਉਥੇ ਬਦੀ ਤੇ ਨੇਕੀ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਚਾਨ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਝੂਠ ਦੀ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਕਮ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
There, vice and virtue are distinguished, and the capital of falsehood is decreased.
ਓਥੈ ਖੋਟੇ ਸਟੀਅਹਿ; ਖਰੇ ਕੀਚਹਿ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ॥

ਉਥੇ ਨਕਲੀ ਪਰੇ ਸੁੱਟੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਸਲੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਹ ਵਾਹ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।
There, the counterfeit are cast aside, and the genuine are cheered.
ਬੋਲਣੁ ਫਾਦਲੁ ਨਾਨਕਾ; ਦੁਖੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਖਸਮੈ ਪਾਸਿ ॥੧॥
bolan faadal naanakaa; dukh sukh khasamai paas |1|
ਬੇਫਾਇਦਾ ਹੈ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਦਾ ਬੋਲਣ ਚਨਣ ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਤੇ ਗਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ (ਵੱਸ ਵਿੱਚ) ਹਨ।
Speech is vain and useless. O Nanak, pain and pleasure are in the power of our Lord and Master. ||1||

Air is the Guru, Water is the Father, and Earth is the Great Mother of all.
ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰਾਤਿ ਦੁਇ. ਦਾਈ ਦਾਇਆ; ਖੇਲੈ ਸਗਲ ਜਗਤੁ ॥
dinas raat due. daaee daaeaa; khelai sagal jagat |
ਅਤੇ ਦਿਹੁੰ ਤੇ ਰੈਣ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਉਪਪਿਤਾ ਤੇ ਉਪਮਾਤਾ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੋਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਹਾਨ ਖੇਡਦਾ ਹੈ।
Day and night are the two nurses, in whose lap all the world is at play.
ਚੰਗਿਆਈਆ ਬੁਰਿਆਈਆ; ਵਾਚੇ ਧਰਮੁ ਹਦੂਰਿ ॥

ਨੇਕੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਦੀਆਂ ਧਰਮ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਹਜੂਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੜ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ।
Good deeds and bad deeds-the record is read out in the Presence of the Lord of Dharma.
ਕਰਮੀ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੀ; ਕੇ ਨੇੜੈ ਕੇ ਦੂਰਿ ॥
karamee aapo aapanee; ke nerrai ke door |
ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਮਲਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਕਈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਜਦੀਕ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਦੁਰੇਡੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ।
According to their own actions, some are drawn closer, and some are driven farther away.
ਜਿਨੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ; ਗਏ ਮਸਕਤਿ ਘਾਲਿ ॥
jinee naam dhiaaeaa; ge masakat ghaal |
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕਰੜੀਆਂ ਘਾਲਾਂ ਕਮਾ ਕੇ ਤੁਰੇ ਹਨ।
Those who have meditated on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and departed after having worked by the sweat of their brow
ਨਾਨਕ. ਤੇ ਮੁਖ ਉਜਲੇ; ਹੋਰ ਕੇਤੀ ਛੁਟੀ ਨਾਲਿ ॥੨॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਥ ਸੰਗ ਵਾਲੇ ਖਲਾਸੀ ਪਾ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
-O Nanak, their faces are radiant in the Court of the Lord, and many others are saved along with them! ||2||

ਸਚਾ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਭਾਉ; ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦਸਿਆ ॥
sachaa bhojan bhaau; satigur dasiaa |
ਸੱਚੀ ਖੁਰਾਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਸਦੇ ਹਨ।
The True Food is the Love of the Lord; the True Guru has spoken.
ਸਚੇ ਹੀ ਪਤੀਆਇ; ਸਚਿ ਵਿਗਸਿਆ ॥
sache hee pateeae; sach vigasiaa |
ਸੱਚੇ ਖਾਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋiੈੲਆ ਹਾਂ।
With this True Food, I am satisfied, and with the Truth, I am delighted.
ਸਚੈ ਕੋਟਿ ਗਿਰਾਂਇ; ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਸਿਆ ॥
sachai kott giraane; nij ghar vasiaa |
ਸੱਚੇ ਹਨ ਕਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਤੇ ਪਿੰਡ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿੱਜ ਦੇ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
True are the cities and the villages, where one abides in the True Home of the self.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਤੁਠੈ ਨਾਉ; ਪ੍ਰੇਮਿ ਰਹਸਿਆ ॥

ਜਦ ਸੱਚਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਨਸਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਸਨੇਹ ਅਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਫੁਲਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
When the True Guru is pleased, one receives the Lord's Name, and blossoms forth in His Love.
ਸਚੈ ਦੈ ਦੀਬਾਣਿ; ਕੂੜਿ. ਨ ਜਾਈਐ ॥
sachai dai deebaan; koorr. na jaaeeai |
ਸੱਚੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਬੰਦਾ ਝੂਠ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ।
No one enters the Court of the True Lord through falsehood.
ਝੂਠੋ ਝੂਠੁ ਵਖਾਣਿ; ਸੁ ਮਹਲੁ ਖੁਆਈਐ ॥
jhoottho jhootth vakhaan; su mehal khuaaeeai |
ਨਿਰੋਲ ਕੂੜ ਬੋਲਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਬੰਦਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਂਝਿਆ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
By uttering falsehood and only falsehood, the Mansion of the Lord's Presence is lost.
