ਸਸੁਰੈ ਪੇਈਐ. ਤਿਸੁ ਕੰਤ ਕੀ; ਵਡਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਪਰਵਾਰੁ ॥
sasurai peeeai. tis kant kee; vaddaa jis paravaar |
ਪ੍ਰਲੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਜਹਾਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਤਨੀ, ਉਸ ਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਮਲਕੀਅਤ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਭਾਰਾ ਟੱਬਰ ਕਬੀਲਾ ਹੈ।
In this world and in the next, the soul-bride belongs to her Husband Lord, who has such a vast family.
ਊਚਾ ਅਗਮ ਅਗਾਧਿ ਬੋਧ; ਕਿਛੁ. ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰੁ ॥
aoochaa agam agaadh bodh; kichh. ant na paaraavaar |
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਬੁਲੰਦ ਅਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਗਿਆਤ ਬੇ-ਥਾਹ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਉਰਲੇ ਤੇ ਪਰਲੇ ਕਿਨਾਰੇ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਓੜਕ ਨਹੀਂ।
He is Lofty and Inaccessible. His Wisdom is Unfathomable.
ਸੇਵਾ ਸਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵਸੀ; ਸੰਤਾ ਕੀ ਹੋਇ ਛਾਰੁ ॥
sevaa saa tis bhaavasee; santaa kee hoe chhaar |
ਟਹਿਲ ਸੇਵਾ ਉਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ ਧੂੜੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
He has no end or limitation. That service is pleasing to Him, which makes one humble, like the dust of the feet of the Saints.
ਦੀਨਾ ਨਾਥ ਦੈਆਲ ਦੇਵ; ਪਤਿਤ. ਉਧਾਰਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
deenaa naath daiaal dev; patit. udhaaranahaar |
ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਵਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਪੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਰਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
He is the Patron of the poor, the Merciful, Luminous Lord, the Redeemer of sinners.
ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦੀ ਰਖਦਾ; ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਤਾਰੁ ॥
aad jugaadee rakhadaa; sach naam karataar |
ਐਨ ਆਰੰਭ ਅਤੇ ਯੁਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਦਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਰਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
From the very beginning, and throughout the ages, the True Name of the Creator has been our Saving Grace.
ਕੀਮਤਿ. ਕੋਇ ਨ ਜਾਣਈ; ਕੋ ਨਾਹੀ ਤੋਲਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
keemat. koe na jaanee; ko naahee tolanahaar |
ਮਾਲਕ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਜ਼ਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
No one can know His Value; no one can weigh it.
ਮਨ ਤਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਵਸਿ ਰਹੇ; ਨਾਨਕ. ਨਹੀ ਸੁਮਾਰੁ ॥
man tan antar vas rahe; naanak. nahee sumaar |
ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
He dwells deep within the mind and body. O Nanak, He cannot be measured.
ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਜਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੰਉ ਸੇਵਦੇ; ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰ ॥੨॥
din rain ji prabh knau sevade; tin kai sad balihaar |2|
ਮੈਂ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਰਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ ਘੋਲੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
I am forever a sacrifice to those who serve God, day and night. ||2||
ਸੰਤ ਅਰਾਧਨਿ ਸਦ ਸਦਾ; ਸਭਨਾ ਕਾ ਬਖਸਿੰਦੁ ॥
sant araadhan sad sadaa; sabhanaa kaa bakhasind |
ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਲਈ ਸਾਧੂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਫੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,
The Saints worship and adore Him forever and ever; He is the Forgiver of all.
ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ. ਜਿਨਿ ਸਾਜਿਆ; ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦਿਤੀਨੁ ਜਿੰਦੁ ॥
jeeo pindd. jin saajiaa; kar kirapaa diteen jind |
ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਰਚੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਜਿੰਦ-ਜਾਨ ਬਖਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ।
He fashioned the soul and the body, and by His Kindness, He bestowed the soul.
ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਆਰਾਧੀਐ; ਜਪੀਐ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਮੰਤੁ ॥
gurasabadee aaraadheeai; japeeai niramal mant |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਉਚਾਰ।
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, worship and adore Him, and chant His Pure Mantra.
ਕੀਮਤਿ. ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈਐ; ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰੁ ਬੇਅੰਤੁ ॥
keemat. kehan na jaaeeai; paramesur beant |
ਅਨੰਤ ਉਤਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਬਿਆਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
His Value cannot be evaluated. The Transcendent Lord is endless.
ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਨਰਾਇਣੋ; ਸੋ ਕਹੀਐ ਭਗਵੰਤੁ ॥
jis man vasai naraaeino; so kaheeai bhagavant |
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਵਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪਰਮ ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
That one, within whose mind the Lord abides, is said to be most fortunate.
ਜੀਅ ਕੀ ਲੋਚਾ ਪੂਰੀਐ; ਮਿਲੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕੰਤੁ ॥
jeea kee lochaa pooreeai; milai suaamee kant |
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਚਾਹਨਾ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
The soul's desires are fulfilled, upon meeting the Master, our Husband Lord.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜੀਵੈ ਜਪਿ ਹਰੀ; ਦੋਖ ਸਭੇ ਹੀ ਹੰਤੁ ॥
naanak jeevai jap haree; dokh sabhe hee hant |
ਨਾਨਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਅਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਮਿਟ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
Nanak lives by chanting the Lord's Name; all sorrows have been erased.
ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਜਿਸੁ. ਨ ਵਿਸਰੈ; ਸੋ ਹਰਿਆ ਹੋਵੈ ਜੰਤੁ ॥੩॥
din rain jis. na visarai; so hariaa hovai jant |3|
ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ੍ਰੀ ਜੋ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਉਹ ਜੀਵ ਸਰਸਬਜ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
One who does not forget Him, day and night, is continually rejuvenated. ||3||
ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੂਰਣੋ; ਮੰਞੁ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ ਥਾਉ ॥
sarab kalaa prabh poorano; many nimaanee thaau |
ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਤਾਕਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਪਰੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਬੇਇਜਤ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਆਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਹੈ।
God is overflowing with all powers. I have no honor-He is my resting place.
ਹਰਿ ਓਟ ਗਹੀ. ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰੇ; ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨਾਉ ॥
har ott gahee. man andare; jap jap jeevaan naau |
ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੈਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਪਕੜਿਆਂ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਤੇ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
I have grasped the Support of the Lord within my mind; I live by chanting and meditating on His Name.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਪਣੀ; ਜਨ ਧੂੜੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਮਾਉ ॥
kar kirapaa prabh aapanee; jan dhoorree sang samaau |
ਆਪਣੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਧਾਰ, ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੋਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਖਾਕ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਵਾ।
Grant Your Grace, God, and bless me, that I may merge into the dust of the feet of the humble.
ਜਿਉ ਤੂੰ ਰਾਖਹਿ ਤਿਉ ਰਹਾ; ਤੇਰਾ ਦਿਤਾ ਪੈਨਾ ਖਾਉ ॥
jiau toon raakheh tiau rahaa; teraa ditaa painaa khaau |
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਰਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਰੰਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹੀ ਪਹਿਨਦਾ ਤੇ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
As You keep me, so do I live. I wear and eat whatever You give me.
ਉਦਮੁ ਸੋਈ ਕਰਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਭ; ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥
audam soee karaae prabh; mil saadhoo gun gaau |
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਉਪਰਾਲਾ ਬਖਸ਼ ਹੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ! ਜਿਸ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਸੰਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟ ਕੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਾਂ।
May I make the effort, O God, to sing Your Glorious Praises in the Company of the Holy.
ਦੂਜੀ ਜਾਇ. ਨ ਸੁਝਈ; ਕਿਥੈ ਕੂਕਣ ਜਾਉ ॥
doojee jaae. na sujhee; kithai kookan jaau |
ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰਸ ਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਖਿਆਲ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ। ਮੈਂ ਫਰਿਆਦ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਿਧਰ ਜਾਵਾਂ?
I can conceive of no other place; where could I go to lodge a complaint?
ਅਗਿਆਨ ਬਿਨਾਸਨ. ਤਮ ਹਰਣ; ਊਚੇ ਅਗਮ ਅਮਾਉ ॥
agiaan binaasan. tam haran; aooche agam amaau |
ਉੱਚਾ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇਡੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਾਪ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਬੇਸਮਝੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨਹਾਰ ਹੈ।
You are the Dispeller of ignorance, the Destroyer of darkness, O Lofty, Unfathomable and Unapproachable Lord.
ਮਨੁ ਵਿਛੁੜਿਆ. ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲੀਐ; ਨਾਨਕ ਏਹੁ ਸੁਆਉ ॥
man vichhurriaa. har meleeai; naanak ehu suaau |
ਵਿਛੁੰਨੀ ਹੋਈ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈ, ਹੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! ਕੇਵਲ ਇਹ ਹੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਜਨ ਹੈ।
Please unite this separated one with Yourself; this is Nanak's yearning.
ਸਰਬ ਕਲਿਆਣਾ ਤਿਤੁ ਦਿਨਿ; ਹਰਿ ਪਰਸੀ ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਪਾਉ ॥੪॥੧॥
sarab kaliaanaa tith din; har parasee gur ke paau |4|1|
ਉਹ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ ਸਮੁਹ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ, ਹੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ, ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਪਕੜਾਗਾਂ।
That day shall bring every joy, O Lord, when I take to the Feet of the Guru. ||4||1||
ਵਾਰ ਮਾਝ ਕੀ. ਤਥਾ ਸਲੋਕ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ਮਲਕ ਮੁਰੀਦ ਤਥਾ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਹੜਾ ਸੋਹੀਆ ਕੀ ਧੁਨੀ ਗਾਵਣੀ ॥

ਮਾਝ ਰਾਗ ਦੀ ਜੱਸਮਈ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਦੀ ਪਰਿਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਮਲਕ ਮੁਰੀਦ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਹੜਾ ਸੂਹੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤਾਲ ਤੇ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਨੀ।

ੴ ਸਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik oankaar sat naam karataa purakh gur prasaad |
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਰਚਣਹਾਰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਸਲੋਕ, ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
Salok, First Mehl:
ਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ. ਗੁਰੁ ਹਿਵੈ ਘਰੁ; ਗੁਰੁ ਦੀਪਕੁ. ਤਿਹ ਲੋਇ ॥
gur daataa. gur hivai ghar; gur deepak. tih loe |
ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਬਰਫ ਦਾ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ (ਠੰਡ ਪਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ) ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੀ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਜਹਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੀਵਾ (ਚਾਨਣ) ਹੈ।
The Guru is the Giver; the Guru is the House of ice. The Guru is the Light of the three worlds.
ਅਮਰ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਨਾਨਕਾ; ਮਨਿ ਮਾਨਿਐ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥
amar padaarath naanakaa; man maaniai sukh hoe |1|
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਸਥਿਰ ਧਨ ਦੌਲਤ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿਲੀ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, He is everlasting wealth. Place your mind's faith in Him, and you shall find peace. ||1||

ਪਹਿਲੈ; ਪਿਆਰਿ ਲਗਾ. ਥਣ ਦੁਧਿ ॥

ਅੱਵਲ, ਇਨਸਾਨ ਬਣ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਧ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
First, the baby loves mother's milk;
ਦੂਜੈ; ਮਾਇ ਬਾਪ ਕੀ ਸੁਧਿ ॥
doojai; maae baap kee sudh |
ਦੂਸਰੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਗਿਆਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
second, he learns of his mother and father;
ਤੀਜੈ; ਭਯਾ ਭਾਭੀ ਬੇਬ ॥
teejai; bhayaa bhaabhee beb |
ਤੀਸਰੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਾਈ, ਭਰਜਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਭੈਣ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੰਞਾਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
third, his brothers, sisters-in-law and sisters;
ਚਉਥੈ; ਪਿਆਰਿ ਉਪੰਨੀ ਖੇਡ ॥
chauthai; piaar upanee khedd |
ਚੋਥੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੇਲਣ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
fourth, the love of play awakens.
ਪੰਜਵੈ; ਖਾਣ ਪੀਅਣ ਕੀ ਧਾਤੁ ॥
panjavai; khaan peean kee dhaat |
ਪੰਜਵੇ ਉਹ ਖਾਣ ਅਤੇ ਪੀਣ ਵੱਲ ਦੌੜਦਾ ਹੈ।
Fifth, he runs after food and drink;
ਛਿਵੈ; ਕਾਮੁ ਨ ਪੁਛੈ ਜਾਤਿ ॥
chhivai; kaam na puchhai jaat |
ਛੇਵੀ ਦਸ਼ਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਹ ਭੋਗ ਬਿਲਾਸ ਦੀ ਚੇਸ਼ਟਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੀ ਜਾਤੀ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ,
sixth, in his sexual desire, he does not respect social customs.
ਸਤਵੈ; ਸੰਜਿ ਕੀਆ. ਘਰ ਵਾਸੁ ॥
satavai; sanj keea. ghar vaas |
ਸਤਵੇ ਉਹ ਧਨ ਦੌਲਤ ਇਕੱਤਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਸੇਬਾ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Seventh, he gathers wealth and dwells in his house;
ਅਠਵੈ; ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਹੋਆ ਤਨ ਨਾਸੁ ॥
atthavai; krodh hoaa tan naas |
ਅਠਵੀਂ ਹਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਦੇਹਿ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਬਰਬਾਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
eighth, he becomes angry, and his body is consumed.
ਨਾਵੈ; ਧਉਲੇ ਉਭੇ ਸਾਹ ॥
naavai; dhaule ubhe saah |
ਨੌਵੀ ਦਸ਼ਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਚਿੱਟੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਆਸ ਲੈਣਾ ਔਖਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Ninth, he turns grey, and his breathing becomes labored;
ਦਸਵੈ; ਦਧਾ ਹੋਆ ਸੁਆਹ ॥
dasavai; dadhaa hoaa suaah |
ਦਸਵੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਹ ਸੜ ਬਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਭਸਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
tenth, he is cremated, and turns to ashes.
ਗਏ. ਸਿਗੀਤ; ਪੁਕਾਰੀ ਧਾਹ ॥
ge. sigeet; pukaaree dhaah |
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੰਗੀ ਸਾਥੀ ਚਿਖਾ ਤਾਈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਭੁੱਬਾਂ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
His companions send him off, crying out and lamenting.
ਉਡਿਆ ਹੰਸੁ; ਦਸਾਏ ਰਾਹ ॥
auddiaa hans; dasaae raah |
ਰਾਜ-ਹੰਸ (ਆਤਮਾ) ਉਡ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਪੁਛਦੀ ਹੈ।
