ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਹੈ। ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਸੱਚੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੋ ਆਈ ਹੈ, ਮੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਤਾਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।

I am in ecstasy, O my mother, for I have found my True Guru.

ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਸੋਖ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰੰਸਨਤਾ ਦਾ ਰਾਗ ਗੂੰਜਦਾ ਹੈ।

I have found the True Guru, with intuitive ease, and my mind vibrates with the music of bliss.

ਹੀਰੇ ਵਰਗੇ ਰਾਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਰਾਗਨੀਆਂ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਏ ਹਨ।

The jewelled melodies and their related celestial harmonies have come to sing the Word of the Shabad.

ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਗਰੁਬਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

The Lord dwells within the minds of those who sing the Shabad.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।

Says Nanak, I am in ecstasy, for I have found my True Guru. ||1||

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ। ਤੂੰ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸ।

O my mind, remain always with the Lord.

ਤੂੰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਜ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੇ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਦੁੱਖੜੇ ਭੁਲਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।

Remain always with the Lord, O my mind, and all sufferings will be forgotten.

ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਲਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮਕਾਜ ਰਾਸ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।

He will accept You as His own, and all your affairs will be perfectly arranged.

ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਾਨ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤੋਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਭੁਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।

Our Lord and Master is all-powerful to do all things, so why forget Him from your mind?

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ। ਤੂੰ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸ।

Says Nanak, O my mind, remain always with the Lord. ||2||

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ। ਉਹ ਕੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ।

O my True Lord and Master, what is there which is not in Your celestial home?

ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਹਰ ਪਸਤੂ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Everything is in Your home; they receive, unto whom You give.

ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਤਰ-ਆਤਮੇ ਟਿਕਾਉਦਾਂ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ।

Constantly singing Your Praises and Glories, Your Name is enshrined in the mind.

ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਰਾਗ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਅਲਾਪੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।

The divine melody of the Shabad vibrates for those, within whose minds the Naam abides.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ। ਉਹ ਕੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ।

Says Nanak, O my True Lord and Master, what is there which is not in Your home? ||3||

ਕੇਵਲ ਸੱਚਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।

The True Name is my only support.

ਸਤਿਨਾਮ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਭੁਖ ਨਵਿਰਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਇੱਕੋ ਇੱਕ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।

The True Name is my only support; it satisfies all hunger.

ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਵਸ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਠੰਢ ਚੈਨ ਤੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਬਖਸ਼ਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਖ਼ਾਹਿਸਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆ ਹਨ।

It has brought peace and tranquility to my mind; it has fulfilled all my desires.

ਮੈਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਉੱਤਸ ਵਾਰਨੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਐਹੋ ਜੇਹੀਆਂ ਖੂਬੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

I am forever a sacrifice to the Guru, who possesses such glorious greatness.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਕਰੋ, ਹੇ ਸਾਧੂਓ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਗਰਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਰੋ।

Says Nanak, listen, O Saints; enshrine love for the Shabad.

ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਇੱਕੋ ਇੱਕ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।

The True Name is my only support. ||4||

ਉਸੁ ਪਰਮ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪੰਜ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਗ ਗੂੰਜਦੇ ਹਨ।

The Panch Shabad, the five primal sounds, vibrate in that blessed house.

ਉਸ ਪਰਮ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਰਿਦੈ-ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਸ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਾਈਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੱਤਿਆ ਸੰਚਾਰੀ ਹੈ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਆਲਾਪੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।

In that blessed house, the Shabad vibrates; He infuses His almighty power into it.

ਹੇ ਸਾਂਈਂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਬੰਦਾ ਪੰਜਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਬੂ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾਂ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਦੁਖਦਾਈ ਮੌਤ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁਟਦਾ ਹੈਂ।

Through You, we subdue the five demons of desire, and slay Death, the torturer.

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਤੂੰ ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ ਐਹੋ ਜੇਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਲਭਧ ਲਿਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ। ਉਹ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਦੇ ਹਨ।

Those who have such pre-ordained destiny are attached to the Lord's Name.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਬੈਕੁੰਠੀ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Says Nanak, they are at peace, and the unstruck sound current vibrates within their homes. ||5||

ਸੱਚੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਵਿਚਾਰੀ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਕਾਇਆ।

Without the true love of devotion, the body is without honor.

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੀ। ਸੱਤਾ-ਰਹਿਤ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਮਨੁਖੀ ਕਾਇਆ। ਇਹ ਗਰੀਬਣੀ ਕੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।

The body is dishonored without devotional love; what can the poor wretches do?

ਤੇਰੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਧਾਰ ਹੇ ਜੰਗਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ।

No one except You is all-powerful; please bestow Your Mercy, O Lord of all nature.

ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਇਸ ਦੇਹ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰਸ ਕੋਈ ਸੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਇਹ ਸੁਭਾਇਮਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,

There is no place of rest, other than the Name; attached to the Shabad, we are embellished with beauty.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫੁਰਮਾਂਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਇਹ ਨਿਮਾਣੀ ਦੇਹ ਦੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।

Says Nanak, without devotional love, what can the poor wretches do? ||6||

ਸਾਰੇ ਜਾਣੇ ਪਰਮ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ, ਪਰਮ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਅਸਲ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਜਾਣੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

Bliss, bliss - everyone talks of bliss; bliss is known only through the Guru.

ਜਦ ਬੰਦਾ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Eternal bliss in known only through the Guru, when the Beloved Lord grants His Grace.

ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਸਾਹਿਬ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਕੱਟ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ-ਗਿਆਨ ਦਾ ਸੁਰਮਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Granting His Grace, He cuts away our sins; He blesses us with the healing ointment of spiritual wisdom.

ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਮਮਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੋਲ ਬਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸ਼ਸ਼ੋਭਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Those who eradicate attachment from within themselves, are adorned with the Shabad, the Word of the True Lord.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫੁਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕੇਵਲ ਇਹ ਹੀ ਅਨੰਦ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

Says Nanak, this alone is bliss - bliss which is known through the Guru. ||7||

ਹੇ ਪਿਤਾ। ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਹੀ ਪਰਮ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਤੂੰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।

O Baba, he alone receives it, unto whom You give it.

ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਹੋਰਸ ਕੋਈ ਗਰੀਬ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਕੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।

He alone receives it, unto whom You give it; what can the other poor wretched beings do?

ਕਈ ਵਹਿਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਘੁੱਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਦਸੀਂ ਪਾਸੀਂ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਸ਼ਸੋਭਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

Some are deluded by doubt, wandering in the ten directions; some are adorned with attachment to the Naam.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਚੰਗੀ ਲਗਦੀ ਹੈ।

By Guru's Grace, the mind becomes immaculate and pure, for those who follow God's Will.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫੁਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ। ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਹੀ ਆਨੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Says Nanak, he alone receives it, unto whom You give it, O Beloved Lord. ||8||

ਆਓ। ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸਾਧੂਓ। ਆਪਾਂ ਅਕਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਕਥਾ ਵਾਰਤਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰੀਏ।

Come, Beloved Saints, let us speak the Unspoken Speech of the Lord.

ਆਓ ਆਪਾਂ ਅਕਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ-ਬਾਤਾਂ ਕਰੀਏ। ਕਿਹੜੇ ਸਾਧਨ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ।

How can we speak the Unspoken Speech of the Lord? Through which door will we find Him?

ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਦੇਹ, ਆਤਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੌਲਤ ਸਮੂਹ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰੋ, ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲਓਗੇ।

Surrender body, mind, wealth, and everything to the Guru; obey the Order of His Will, and you will find Him.

ਤੁਸੀਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਮੂਹਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰੋ।

Obey the Hukam of the Guru's Command, and sing the True Word of His Bani.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਨ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਕਰੋ, ਹੇ ਸਾਧੂਓ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਅਕਹਿ ਵਾਰਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਵਰਨਣ ਕਰੋ।

Says Nanak, listen, O Saints, and speak the Unspoken Speech of the Lord. ||9||

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਚੁਲਬੁਲੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ! ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਚਾਲਾਕੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ।

O fickle mind, through cleverness, no one has found the Lord.

ਚਲਾਕੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਤੂੰ ਕੰਨ ਕਰ ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੇ!

Through cleverness, no one has found Him; listen, O my mind.

ਮੋਹ ਕਰ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਮੋਹਣੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਹਿਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਐਨਾ ਗੁਮਰਾਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

This Maya is so fascinating; because of it, people wander in doubt.

ਇਹ ਟੂਣੇਹਾਰ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਭੀ ਉਸੇ ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਮਾਨ ਗਲਤ ਫਹਿਮੀ ਖਿਲਾਰੀ ਹੈ।

This fascinating Maya was created by the One who has administered this potion.

ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੋਂ ਵਾਰਨੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਠੜੀ ਲਾਈ ਹੈ।

I am a sacrifice to the One who has made emotional attachment sweet.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫੁਰਮਾਉੱਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਬੇਚੈਨ ਬੰਦੇ! ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਲਾਕੀ ਹੁਸ਼ਿਆਰੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਪ੍ਰਪਾਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ।

Says Nanak, O fickle mind, no one has found Him through cleverness. ||10||

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ। ਤੂੰ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਸਤਿਪਰਖ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ।

O beloved mind, contemplate the True Lord forever.

ਇਹ ਆਰ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਾ।

This family which you see shall not go along with you.

ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਟੁਰਨਾ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈਂ।

They shall not go along with you, so why do you focus your attention on them?

ਐਹੋ ਜੇਹਾ ਅਮਲ ਤੂੰ ਮੂਲੋਂ ਹੀ ਨਾਂ ਕਮ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਅਖੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਸਚਾਤਾਪ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਵੇ।

Don't do anything that you will regret in the end.

ਤੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਕਰ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਊਗੀ।

Listen to the Teachings of the True Guru - these shall go along with you.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫ਼ੁਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਵਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ। ਤੂੰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੀ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰ।

Says Nanak, O beloved mind, contemplate the True Lord forever. ||11||

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਝ ਸੋਚ ਤੋਂ ਉਚੇਰੇ ਸਾਈਂ! ਤੇਰਾ ਓੜਕ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।

O inaccessible and unfathomable Lord, Your limits cannot be found.

ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਅਖੀਰ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਾ। ਕੇਵਲ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।

No one has found Your limits; only You Yourself know.

ਇਨਸਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਪਸ਼ੂ ਪੰਛੀ ਸਮੂਹ ਤੈਂ ਡੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਹਨ। ਕਿਹੜਿਆ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਜਣਾ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਵਰਨਣ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

All living beings and creatures are Your play; how can anyone describe You?

ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਰਚਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ।

You speak, and You gaze upon all; You created the Universe.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੂੰ, ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ। ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈਂ। ਤੇਰਾ ਓੜਕ ਲੱਭਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।

Says Nanak, You are forever inaccessible; Your limits cannot be found. ||12||

ਦੈਵੀ ਪਰਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਖਾਮੋਸ਼ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਈਸ਼ਵਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੀ ਢੂੰਡ ਭਾਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਆਬਿ-ਹਿਯਾਤ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

The angelic beings and the silent sages search for the Ambrosial Nectar; this Amrit is obtained from the Guru.

ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਆਬਿ-ਹਿਯਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਾਈ ਰਖਦਾ ਹੈ।

This Amrit is obtained, when the Guru grants His Grace; He enshrines the True Lord within the mind.

ਸਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਧਾਰੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਰਚੇ ਹਨ, ਹੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਪਰ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਹੀ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

All living beings and creatures were created by You; only some come to see the Guru, and seek His blessing.

ਉਸ ਦਾ ਲਾਲਚ ਤਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਨਵਿਰਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਠੇ ਲਗਦੇ ਹਨ।

Their greed, avarice and egotism are dispelled, and the True Guru seems sweet.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਨਾਮ-ਸੁਧਾਰੱਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Says Nanak, those with whom the Lord is pleased, obtain the Amrit, through the Guru. ||13||

ਅਨੋਖੀ ਹੈ ਜੀਵਨ ਰਹੁ ਰੀਤੀ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ।

The lifestyle of the devotees is unique and distinct.

ਅਨੋਖੀ ਹੈ ਜੀਵਨ ਰਹੁ ਰੀਤੀ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ, ਉਹ ਕਰਨ ਰਹੋ ਟੁਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

The devotees' lifestyle is unique and distinct; they follow the most difficult path.

ਉਹ ਲਾਲਚ, ਤਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੰਗਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਖ਼ਾਹਿਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਧੂ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ।

They renounce greed, avarice, egotism and desire; they do not talk too much.

ਉਹ ਖੰਡੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਤੇਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਲ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਬਰੀਕ ਰਸਤੇ ਟੁਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

The path they take is sharper than a two-edged sword, and finer than a hair.

ਜੋ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਵੈ-ਹੰਗਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ ਸਾਈਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

By Guru's Grace, they shed their selfishness and conceit; their hopes are merged in the Lord.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਦੱਭੁਤ (ਵਖਰਾ) ਹੈ ਮਾਰਗ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਗੋਲਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਹਰ ਯੁੱਗ ਅੰਦਰ।

Says Nanak, the lifestyle of the devotees, in each and every age, is unique and distinct. ||14||

ਜਿੰਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਚਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਚਲਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਹੇ ਸਾਂਈ। ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਖੂਬੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਹੋਰ ਕੀ ਜਾਣ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

As You make me walk, so do I walk, O my Lord and Master; what else do I know of Your Glorious Virtues?

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਹੇ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਚਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਚਲਦੇ ਹਨ।

As You cause them to walk, they walk - You have placed them on the Path.

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਸਦਕਾ ਆਪਣੇ। ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ।

In Your Mercy, You attach them to the Naam; they meditate forever on the Lord, Har, Har.

ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਥਾ ਵਾਰਤਾ ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਕਾਰਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Those whom You cause to listen to Your sermon, find peace in the Gurdwara, the Guru's Gate.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫੁਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ! ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਬੰਦਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਤੋਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Says Nanak, O my True Lord and Master, you make us walk according to Your Will. ||15||

ਇਹ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਨ ਹੈ।

This song of praise is the Shabad, the most beautiful Word of God.

ਇਹ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਹੈ।

This beauteous Shabad is the everlasting song of praise, spoken by the True Guru.

ਇਹ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

This is enshrined in the minds of those who are so pre-destined by the Lord.

ਕਈ ਬਹੁਤੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਬਾਤਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਬਕਵਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਸਾਈਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।

Some wander around, babbling on and on, but none obtain Him by babbling.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫੁਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਈ ਹੈ।

Says Nanak, the Shabad, this song of praise, has been spoken by the True Guru. ||16||

ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

Those humble beings who meditate on the Lord become pure.

ਜੋ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਪਾਵਨ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਥੀ ਵੰਝਦੇ ਹਨ।

Meditating on the Lord, they become pure; as Gurmukh, they meditate on Him.

ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਅੰਮੜੀ ਬਾਬਲ, ਟੱਬਰ ਕਬੀਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਮਿੱਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਸਣੇ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮੇਲ ਮਿਲਾਪੀ ਭੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹਨ।

They are pure, along with their mothers, fathers, family and friends; all their companions are pure as well.

ਜੋ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਪਾਵਨ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸ੍ਰਵਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਪਾਵਨ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਵਨ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਜੋ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Pure are those who speak, and pure are those who listen; those who enshrine it within their minds are pure.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਾਕ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਜੋ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

Says Nanak, pure and holy are those who, as Gurmukh, meditate on the Lord, Har, Har. ||17||

ਕਰਮ ਕਾਂਡਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਤ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਤ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਸੰਦੇਹ ਨਵਿਰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।

By religious rituals, intuitive poise is not found; without intuitive poise, skepticism does not depart.

ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਜਤਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਦੇਹ ਨਵਿਰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਲੋਕ ਰਸਮੀ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਰ ਹੁੱਟ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

Skepticism does not depart by contrived actions; everybody is tired of performing these rituals.

ਵਹਿਮ ਭਰਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਤਮਾ ਗੰਦੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਕਿਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਸਾਫ਼ ਸੁਥਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।

The soul is polluted by skepticism; how can it be cleansed?

ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਧੋ ਲੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖ।

Wash your mind by attaching it to the Shabad, and keep your consciousness focused on the Lord.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫੁਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ ਗਿਆਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਹ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੇ।

Says Nanak, by Guru's Grace, intuitive poise is produced, and this skepticism is dispelled. ||18||

ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਗੰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਹਰਵਾਰੋਂ ਸ਼ੁੰਧ।

Inwardly polluted, and outwardly pure.

ਜੋ ਬਾਹਰਵਾਰੋਂ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਪਲੀਤ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਜੂਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

Those who are outwardly pure and yet polluted within, lose their lives in the gamble.

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਲਚ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਭਾਰੀ ਬੀਮਾਰੀ ਚਿੰਮੜ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤੋਂ ਉਹ ਮੌਤ ਨੂੰ ਭਲਾ ਦਿੱਦੇ ਹਨ।

They contract this terrible disease of desire, and in their minds, they forget about dying.

ਵੇਦਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਾਮ ਪਰਮ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਵਸਤੂ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਭੂਤਨਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

In the Vedas, the ultimate objective is the Naam, the Name of the Lord; but they do not hear this, and they wander around like demons.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਸੱਚ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਝੂਠ ਨਾਲ ਚਿੰਮੜਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਜੂਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

Says Nanak, those who forsake Truth and cling to falsehood, lose their lives in the gamble. ||19||

ਸਾਫ਼ ਸੁਥਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਫ਼ ਸੁਥਰੇ ਬਾਹਰੋਂ।

Inwardly pure, and outwardly pure.

ਜੋ ਬਾਹਰੋਂ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਭੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਉਹ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਨੇਕ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

Those who are outwardly pure and also pure within, through the Guru, perform good deeds.

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਝੂਠ ਦੀ ਕਨਸੋ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੁੱਜਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ ਸੱਚ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

Not even an iota of falsehood touches them; their hopes are absorbed in the Truth.

ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਜਵੇਹਰ ਨੂੰ ਖੱਟ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮ ਉੱਤਮ ਵਾਪਾਰੀ ਹਨ।

Those who earn the jewel of this human life, are the most excellent of merchants.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫੁਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ।

Says Nanak, those whose minds are pure, abide with the Guru forever. ||20||

ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਮੁਰੀਦ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਅਗਿਆਦਾਰੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ।

If a Sikh turns to the Guru with sincere faith, as sunmukh

ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਸਿੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਮੂੰਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ,

if a Sikh turns to the Guru with sincere faith, as sunmukh, his soul abides with the Guru.

ਉਹ ਸੱਚੇ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ (ਬਚਨਾਂ) ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Within his heart, he meditates on the lotus feet of the Guru; deep within his soul, he contemplates Him.

ਆਪਣੀ ਸਵੈ-ਹੰਗਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ, ਉਹ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੀ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਉਹ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ।

Renouncing selfishness and conceit, he remains always on the side of the Guru; he does not know anyone except the Guru.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਕਰੋ, ਹੇ ਸਾਧੂਓ! ਐਹੋ ਜੇਹਾ ਮੁਰੀਦ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਮੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ।

Says Nanak, listen, O Saints: such a Sikh turns toward the Guru with sincere faith, and becomes sunmukh. ||21||

ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਜਣਾ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਮੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਮੋਖਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।

One who turns away from the Guru, and becomes baymukh - without the True Guru, he shall not find liberation.

ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਹੋਰਸ ਥਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣੀ। ਜਾਓ। ਜਾ ਕੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਵਾਨਾ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਪੁੱਛ ਲੱਵੇ।

He shall not find liberation anywhere else either; go and ask the wise ones about this.

ਉਹ ਘਣੇਰੀਆਂ ਜੂਨੀਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਮੋਖਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣੀ।

He shall wander through countless incarnations; without the True Guru, he shall not find liberation.

ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਓੜਕ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਖਸ਼ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਵੇਗਾ ਜਦ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਗੇ।

But liberation is attained, when one is attached to the feet of the True Guru, chanting the Word of the Shabad.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਚ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਵੇਖ ਲਓ ਕਿ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।

Says Nanak, contemplate this and see, that without the True Guru, there is no liberation. ||22||

ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਓ। ਹੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮੁਰੀਦੋ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਕਰੋ।

Come, O beloved Sikhs of the True Guru, and sing the True Word of His Bani.

ਤੁਸੀਂ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰੋ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਕਿ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬਾਣੀਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਪਰਮ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ।

Sing the Guru's Bani, the supreme Word of Words.

ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੀ ਦਇਆ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Those who are blessed by the Lord's Glance of Grace - their hearts are imbued with this Bani.

ਤੂੰ ਸੁਧਾਰਸ ਪਾਨ ਕਰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੰਸ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਥੰਮਣਹਾਰ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰ।

Drink in this Ambrosial Nectar, and remain in the Lord's Love forever; meditate on the Lord, the Sustainer of the world.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫੁਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੂੰ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਸੱਚੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਕਰ।

Says Nanak, sing this True Bani forever. ||23||

ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਹੋਰ ਸਮੂਹ ਧਰਮ-ਵਾਰਤਾ ਕੂੜੀ ਹੈ।

Without the True Guru, other songs are false.

ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਹੋਰ ਹਰ ਇਕ ਭਜਨ ਕੂੜਾ ਹੈ। ਹੋਰਸ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਧਰਮ ਵਾਰਤਾਵਾਂ ਕੇਵਲ ਕੂੜੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਹਨ।

The songs are false without the True Guru; all other songs are false.

ਕੂੜੇ ਹਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਾਲੇ, ਕੂੜੇ ਹਨ ਸ੍ਰੋਤਾ, ਕੂੜੇ ਵਰਨਣ ਕਾਰਨਹਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਕੂੜੇ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਰਦਾ।

The speakers are false, and the listeners are false; those who speak and recite are false.

ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਉਚਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੁਝ ਉਹ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਥੋੜਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਭੀ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ।

They may continually chant, 'Har, Har' with their tongues, but they do not know what they are saying.

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਦੌਲਤ ਨੇ ਲੁਭਾਇਮਾਨ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਬਿਨਾ ਸੋਚੇ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਪੜ੍ਹੀ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Their consciousness is lured by Maya; they are just reciting mechanically.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਹੋਰਸ ਸਮੂਹ ਧਰਮ ਵਾਰਤਾਂ ਕੂੜੀ ਹੈ।

Says Nanak, without the True Guru, other songs are false. ||24||

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਜਵੇਹਰ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਕਿ ਮਾਣਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੜੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।

The Word of the Guru's Shabad is a jewel, studded with diamonds.

ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਜਵੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਇਸ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

The mind which is attached to this jewel, merges into the Shabad.

ਜਦ ਆਦਮੀ ਦਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਇਕਮਿਕ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

One whose mind is attuned to the Shabad, enshrines love for the True Lord.

ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਪ ਜਵੇਹਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਾਣਕ ਜਿਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਬਖਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਮੁਲ ਦਰਸਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

He Himself is the diamond, and He Himself is the jewel; one who is blessed, understands its value.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫ਼ੁਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਜਵੇਹਰ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਮਾਣਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੜੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।

Says Nanak, the Shabad is a jewel, studded with diamonds. ||25||

ਖ਼ੁਦ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਮਾਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਰਚਕੇ ਰਚਣਹਾਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਫ਼ੁਰਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਰਖਦਾ ਹੈ।

He Himself created Shiva and Shakti, mind and matter; the Creator subjects them to His Command.

ਸਾਈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਮਰ ਚਾਲੂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਜਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Enforcing His Order, He Himself sees all. How rare are those who, as Gurmukh, come to know Him.

ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੇੜੀਆਂ ਕਟੀਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮੋਖਸ਼ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਿਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਵਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

They break their bonds, and attain liberation; they enshrine the Shabad within their minds.

ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਖੁਦ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਿਰਤੀ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Those whom the Lord Himself makes Gurmukh, lovingly focus their consciousness on the One Lord.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Says Nanak, He Himself is the Creator; He Himself reveals the Hukam of His Command. ||26||

ਸਿਮ੍ਰਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰ ਚੰਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਣਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਯਥਾਰਥ ਵਸਤੂ ਦੇ ਜੌਹਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ।

The Simritees and the Shaastras discriminate between good and evil, but they do not know the true essence of reality.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਉਹ ਅਸਲੀਅਤ ਦੇ ਜੌਹਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ, ਅਸਲੀਅਤ ਦੇ ਜੌਹਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ।

They do not know the true essence of reality without the Guru; they do not know the true essence of reality.

ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਦਿਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਦੇਹ ਅੰਦਰ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਸੁਤੀ ਪਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਤਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਰਾਤ੍ਰੀ ਬੀਤ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

The world is asleep in the three modes and doubt; it passes the night of its life sleeping.

ਗੁਰਾ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਸਦਕਾ, ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਜਾਗਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਜੌ ਅਮਿਉ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਚਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

Those humble beings remain awake and aware, within whose minds, by Guru's Grace, the Lord abides; they chant the Ambrosial Word of the Guru's Bani.

ਗੂਰੁ ਜੀ ਫਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹ ਹੀ ਸਾਰ, ਤੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਰਾਤ੍ਰੀ ਜਾਗ ਕੇ ਬਿਤਾਉੇਦਾਂ ਹੈ।

Says Nanak, they alone obtain the essence of reality, who night and day remain lovingly absorbed in the Lord; they pass the night of their life awake and aware. ||27||

ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਆਪਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਭੁਲਾਈਏ ਜੋ ਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੱਚੇਦਾਨੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਾਡੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਪੋਸਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

He nourished us in the mother's womb; why forget Him from the mind?

ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਐਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਭਲਾਈਏ ਜੋ ਅੱਗ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ ਪੁਚਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Why forget from the mind such a Great Giver, who gave us sustenance in the fire of the womb?

ਕੋਈ ਸ਼ੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੁਚਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Nothing can harm one, whom the Lord inspires to embrace His Love.

ਆਪਣਾ ਪਿਆਰ, ਉਹ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਤੂੰ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਐਸੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰ।

He Himself is the love, and He Himself is the embrace; the Gurmukh contemplates Him forever.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਅਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਐਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਭੁਲਾਈਏ?

Says Nanak, why forget such a Great Giver from the mind? ||28||

ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਗਰਭ ਸਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰਵਾਰਾਂ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਅੱਗ ਬਾਹਰਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੁਨਿਆਂਦਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਹੈ।

As is the fire within the womb, so is Maya outside.

ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਗਰਭ ਸਥਾਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਗਾਂ, ਸਮੂਹ ਇੱਕ ਸਮਾਨ ਹਨ। ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਖੇਡ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੈ।

The fire of Maya is one and the same; the Creator has staged this play.

ਜਦ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਬਾਲ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਟੱਬਰ ਕਬੀਲਾ ਬੁਹਤ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

According to His Will, the child is born, and the family is very pleased.

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਲੋਭ ਬਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਚਿੰਮੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਹਨੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਭਾਗ ਚਾਲੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Love for the Lord wears off, and the child becomes attached to desires; the script of Maya runs its course.

ਐਸੀ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਮੋਹਨੀ, ਜਿਸ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਹੋਰਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

This is Maya, by which the Lord is forgotten; emotional attachment and love of duality well up.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮੋਹਨੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Says Nanak, by Guru's Grace, those who enshrine love for the Lord find Him, in the midst of Maya. ||29||

ਖ਼ੁਦ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਮੁੱਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਪਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ।

The Lord Himself is priceless; His worth cannot be estimated.

ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਭੀ ਪਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਰੋਂਦੇ ਖੱਪਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।

His worth cannot be estimated, even though people have grown weary of trying.

ਜੇਕਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਐਹੋ ਜੇਹੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਣ ਜੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਵੈ-ਹੰਗਤਾ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਣ। ਤੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੀਸ ਸਮਰਪਨ ਕਰ ਦੇ।

If you meet such a True Guru, offer your head to Him; your selfishness and conceit will be eradicated from within.

ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੁੰ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹੇਗਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਆ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿੱਕ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

Your soul belongs to Him; remain united with Him, and the Lord will come to dwell in your mind.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਖੁਦ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਹੈ, ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

The Lord Himself is priceless; very fortunate are those, O Nanak, who attain to the Lord. ||30||

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਰਾ ਵੱਖਰਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਵਾਪਾਰੀ ਹੈ।

The Lord is my capital; my mind is the merchant.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਮੇਰੀ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਵਾਪਾਰੀ ਹੈ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।

The Lord is my capital, and my mind is the merchant; through the True Guru, I know my capital.

ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਹੀ ਨਫ਼ਾ ਕਮਾਵੇਗੀ।

Meditate continually on the Lord, Har, Har, O my soul, and you shall collect your profits daily.

ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੇ ਲਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਇਹ ਦੌਲਤ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

This wealth is obtained by those who are pleasing to the Lord's Will.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫੁਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਦਾਗਰੀ ਦਾ ਮਾਨ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਸੁਦਾਗਰ ਹੈ।

Says Nanak, the Lord is my capital, and my mind is the merchant. ||31||

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜੀਭ੍ਹੇ। ਤੂੰ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਸੁਆਦਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਖੱਚਤ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇਰੀ ਤੇਹ ਬੁੱਝਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ।

O my tongue, you are engrossed in other tastes, but your thirsty desire is not quenched.

ਤੇਰੀ ਤੇਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰਸ ਜ਼ਰੀਏ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੁਝਣੀ, ਜਦ ਤਾਂਈਂ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੀ।

Your thirst shall not be quenched by any means, until you attain the subtle essence of the Lord.

ਜੇਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਮਿਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਨ ਕਰ ਲਵੇਂ ਤਾਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਤੇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗੇਗੀ।

If you do obtain the subtle essence of the Lord, and drink in this essence of the Lord, you shall not be troubled by desire again.

ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਵਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆ ਕੇ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

This subtle essence of the Lord is obtained by good karma, when one comes to meet with the True Guru.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਦ ਸਾਈਂ ਆ ਕੇ ਮਨੁਸ਼ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਆਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Says Nanak, all other tastes and essences are forgotten, when the Lord comes to dwell within the mind. ||32||

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਦੇਹ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਟਿਕਾਇਆ ਤੇ ਤਦ ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਜਹਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਈ।

O my body, the Lord infused His Light into you, and then you came into the world.

ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਤਦ ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਈ।

The Lord infused His Light into you, and then you came into the world.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਆਪੇ ਮਾਂ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਪਿਉ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਖਾਲਿਆ ਹੈ।

The Lord Himself is your mother, and He Himself is your father; He created the created beings, and revealed the world to them.

ਜਦ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਅਸਲੀਅਤ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੁਭਗ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਇੱਕ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕੇਵਲ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਹੀ ਦਿਸਦੀ ਹੈ।

By Guru's Grace, some understand, and then it's a show; it seems like just a show.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਸ਼੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਹ ਰੱਖੀ, ਤੇਰੀ ਦੇਹ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨੂਰ ਭਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਤਦ ਤੂੰ ਜਹਾਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਹਾਇਆ।

Says Nanak, He laid the foundation of the Universe, and infused His Light, and then you came into the world. ||33||

ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਆਉਣਾ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀ ਪਰਮ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੈ।

My mind has become joyful, hearing of God's coming.

ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਆਉਭਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰੋ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀਓ ਸਹੇਲੀਓ। ਮੇਰਾ ਘਰ ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਮਹਿਲ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ,

Sing the songs of joy to welcome the Lord, O my companions; my household has become the Lord's Mansion.

ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਦਾ ਵਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਲਈ, ਜੀ ਆਇਆਂ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਓ ਹੇ ਸਹੇਲੀਓ! ਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਗਮ ਅਤੇ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਿਮੜਨਗੇ।

Sing continually the songs of joy to welcome the Lord, O my companions, and sorrow and suffering will not afflict you.

ਭਾਰੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਦਿਹਾੜਾ, ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

Blessed is that day, when I am attached to the Guru's feet and meditate on my Husband Lord.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਮੈਂ ਸੁਤੇ ਸਿੱਧ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਰਾਗ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਈਸ਼ਵਰੀ ਸੁਆਦ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

I have come to know the unstruck sound current and the Word of the Guru's Shabad; I enjoy the sublime essence of the Lord, the Lord's Name.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸੁਆਮੀ ਖ਼ੁਦ, ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਥ ਹੈ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ।

Says Nanak, God Himself has met me; He is the Doer, the Cause of causes. ||34||

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਦੇਹ, ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ?

O my body, why have you come into this world? What actions have you committed?

ਤੂੰ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਹੇ ਮੈਡੀ ਦੇਹ! ਜਦ ਦੀ ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਜਹਾਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਈ ਹੈਂ?

And what actions have you committed, O my body, since you came into this world?

ਉਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਨਾਵਟ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਸਾਈਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਟਿਕਾਇਆ।

The Lord who formed your form - you have not enshrined that Lord in your mind.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਮੇਰੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਛ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

By Guru's Grace, the Lord abides within the mind, and one's pre-ordained destiny is fulfilled.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਦੇਹ, ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਬੂਲ ਪੈ ਵੰਝਦੀ ਹੈ।

Says Nanak, this body is adorned and honored, when one's consciousness is focused on the True Guru. ||35||

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀਓ ਅੱਖੋ! ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੂਰ ਟਿਕਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਂ ਵੇਖੋ।

O my eyes, the Lord has infused His Light into you; do not look upon any other than the Lord.

ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਂ ਵੇਖੋ ਕੇਵਲ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਮਾਲਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੀ ਵੇਖਣ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਹੈ।

Do not look upon any other than the Lord; the Lord alone is worthy of beholding.

ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹੋ, ਸਾਈਂ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਹੈ, ਕੇਵਲ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਤਸਵੀਰ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿੱਸ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

This whole world which you see is the image of the Lord; only the image of the Lord is seen.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਅਸਲੀਅਤ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਕੇਵਲ ਇੱਕ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਹੈ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ।

By Guru's Grace, I understand, and I see only the One Lord; there is no one except the Lord.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫੁਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਇਹ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ, ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਣ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁੱਛ ਵੇਖਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ।

Says Nanak, these eyes were blind; but meeting the True Guru, they became all-seeing. ||36||

ਹੇ ਮੇਰਿਓ ਕੰਨੋ! ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਸੁਣਨ ਲਈ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

O my ears, you were created only to hear the Truth.

ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਹ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੱਚੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਕਰੋ।

To hear the Truth, you were created and attached to the body; listen to the True Bani.

ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਦਤੇ ਦੇਹ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਜੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਭ੍ਹਾ ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

Hearing it, the mind and body are rejuvenated, and the tongue is absorbed in Ambrosial Nectar.

ਸੱਚਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਅਤੇ ਅਸਚਰਜ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਆਖੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ।

The True Lord is unseen and wondrous; His state cannot be described.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫ਼ੁਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਓ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਹੇ ਕੰਨੋ! ਸੱਚਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਣਨ ਲਈ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

Says Nanak, listen to the Ambrosial Naam and become holy; you were created only to hear the Truth. ||37||

ਜਿੰਦੜੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੀ ਕੰਦਰਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕਾ ਕੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੇ ਸੁਆਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੰਗੀਤਕ ਸਾਜ਼ ਵਜਾਉਣਾ ਅਰੰਭ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

The Lord placed the soul to the cave of the body, and blew the breath of life into the musical instrument of the body.

ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੁਆਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੰਗੀਤਕ ਸਾਜ਼ ਵਜਾਇਆ। ਨੌਂ ਦਰਵਾਜੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਤੱਖ ਕਰ ਦਿਤੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਦਸਵੇਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਛੁਪਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ।

He blew the breath of life into the musical instrument of the body, and revealed the nine doors; but He kept the Tenth Door hidden.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਹ ਦਸਵਾਂ ਦੁਆਰ ਵਿਖਾਲ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Through the Gurdwara, the Guru's Gate, some are blessed with loving faith, and the Tenth Door is revealed to them.

ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਸਰੂਪਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਨੌ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਹਨ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਓੜਕ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।

There are many images of the Lord, and the nine treasures of the Naam; His limits cannot be found.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫ਼ੁਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਹ ਦੀ ਕੰਦਰਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕਾ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਵਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਸੁਆਸਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਗੀਤਕ ਸਾਜ਼ ਵਜੋਂ ਵਜਾਇਆ ਹੈ।

Says Nanak, the Lord placed the soul to the cave of the body, and blew the breath of life into the musical instrument of the body. ||38||

ਸੱਚੇ ਘਰ (ਅਵਸਥਾ) ਅੰਦਰ ਜਿਥੇ ਸੰਤ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਜੱਸ ਦਾ ਗਤੀ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰ।

Sing the song of praise in your true home; meditate there on the True Lord forever.

ਜਦ ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੇ ਲਗਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਬਖ਼ਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹ ਤੈਡਾਂ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮੇਰੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ।

They alone meditate on You, O True Lord, who are pleasing to Your Will; as Gurmukh, they understand.

ਏਹ ਸੱਚ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸ੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਹੈ। ਕੇਵਲ ਉਹ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

This Truth is the Lord and Master of all; whoever is blessed, obtains it.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫੁਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਸੱਚੇ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਗਾਉਦ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਘਰ (ਟਿਕਾਣੇ) ਅੰਦਰ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰ।

Says Nanak, sing the true song of praise in the true home of your soul. ||39||

ਤੁਸੀਂ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਕਰੋ, ਹੇ ਭਾਰੋ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਿਓ! ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਅਭਿਆਸ਼ਾ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ।

Listen to the song of bliss, O most fortunate ones; all your longings shall be fulfilled.

ਮੈਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ, ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗਮ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਸਨ।

I have obtained the Supreme Lord God, and all sorrows have been forgotten.

ਸੱਚੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼੍ਰਵਣ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਤਕਲੀਫਾਂ ਬੀਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਕਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਪਾ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ।

Pain, illness and suffering have departed, listening to the True Bani.

ਸਾਧੂ ਤੇ ਮਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਜਾਣਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

The Saints and their friends are in ecstasy, knowing the Perfect Guru.

ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹਨ ਸ੍ਰੋਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹਨ ਬਕਤੇ, ਉਹ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਨ।

Pure are the listeners, and pure are the speakers; the True Guru is all-pervading and permeating.

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਪੈਣ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਲਈ ਬਿਨ ਵਜਾਏ ਵਾਜੇ ਵਜਦੇ ਹਨ।

Prays Nanak, touching the Guru's Feet, the unstruck sound current of the celestial bugles vibrates and resounds. ||40||1||
