ਗਊੜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ।

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:

ਹੇ ਜੀਵ! ਇਹ ਦੇਹਿ ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਮਾਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ।

The body which you are so proud of, does not belong to you.

ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ, ਜਾਇਦਾਦ ਤੇ ਦੌਲਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ।

Power, property and wealth are not yours. ||1||

ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ, ਤਦ ਫਿਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਚਿਮੜਦਾ ਹੈ?

They are not yours, so why do you cling to them?

ਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Only the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is yours; it is received from the True Guru. ||1||Pause||

ਪ੍ਰਤੂ ਪਤਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਭਰਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ।

Children, spouse and siblings are not yours.

ਪਿਆਰੇ ਦੋਸਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਹੀਂ!

Dear friends, mother and father are not yours. ||2||

ਸੋਨਾ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਰੁਪਏ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ।

Gold, silver and money are not yours.

ਉਮਦਾ ਘੋੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹਾਥੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ।

Fine horses and magnificent elephants are of no use to you. ||3||

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਫ਼ੁਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਮਾਫ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸਾਈਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

Says Nanak, those whom the Guru forgives, meet with the Lord.

ਹਰ ਵਸਤ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਲਕੀਅਤ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੈ।

Everything belongs to those who have the Lord as their King. ||4||37||106||
