ਮਾਝ, ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Maajh, Third Mehl:

ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ, ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੰਤ ਹੈ।

My God is Immaculate, Inaccessible and Infinite.

ਤਰਾਜੂ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਉਹ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਜੋਖਦਾ ਹੈ।

Without a scale, He weighs the universe.

ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ-ਯੋਗ ਸਾਈਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

One who becomes Gurmukh, understands. Chanting His Glorious Praises, he is absorbed into the Lord of Virtue. ||1||

ਮੈਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀ ਸਦਕੇ ਹੈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਸਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, to those whose minds are filled with the Name of the Lord.

ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਰੈਣ ਦਿਹੁੰ ਖ਼ਬਰਦਾਰ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਇਜ਼ਤ ਆਬਰੂ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Those who are committed to Truth remain awake and aware night and day. They are honored in the True Court. ||1||Pause||

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਖੁਦ ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ।

He Himself hears, and He Himself sees.

ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਕਬੂਲ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Those, upon whom He casts His Glance of Grace, become acceptable.

ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਈਂ ਆਪ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਸੱਚ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

They are attached, whom the Lord Himself attaches; as Gurmukh, they live the Truth. ||2||

ਉਹ ਕਿਸ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਖੁਦ ਗੁਮਰਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ?

Those whom the Lord Himself misleads-whose hand can they take?

ਜੋ ਧੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਉਕਰਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮੇਸਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।

That which is pre-ordained, cannot be erased.

ਭਾਰੇ ਨਸੀਬਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਮਿਲੇ ਹਨ। ਪੂਰਨ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ।

Those who meet the True Guru are very fortunate and blessed; through perfect karma, He is met. ||3||

ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਹੁਟੀ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਨਿੰਦ੍ਰਾਵਲੀ ਵਿਚਰਦੀ ਹੈ।

The young bride is fast asleep in her parents' home, night and day.

ਆਪਣਾ ਖਸਮ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਭੁਲਾ ਛਡਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਅਮਲਾਂ ਕਾਰਣ ਉਹ ਛੱਡ ਦਿਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।

She has forgotten her Husband Lord; because of her faults and demerits, she is abandoned.

ਰੈਣ ਦਿਹੁੰ, ਉਹ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਰੌਦੀ ਪਿਟਦੀ ਫਿਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨੀਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਦੀ।

She wanders around continually, crying out, night and day. Without her Husband Lord, she cannot get any sleep. ||4||

ਉਹ ਆਰਾਮ ਬਖਸ਼ਣਹਾਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ,

In this world of her parents' home, she may come to know the Giver of peace,

ਜੋ ਇਸ ਜਹਾਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਹੰਗਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਵਿਰਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਸਚਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦੀ ਹੈ।

if she subdues her ego, and recognizes the Word of the Guru's Shabad.

ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪਲੰਘ, ਉਹ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਸਤੀ ਦਾ ਹਾਰ-ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰ ਲਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

Her bed is beautiful; she ravishes and enjoys her Husband Lord forever. She is adorned with the Decorations of Truth. ||5||

ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਚੁਰਾਸੀ ਲੰਖ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ-ਧਾਰੀ ਜੀਵ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ।

He created the 8.4 million species of beings.

ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Those, upon whom He casts His Glance of Grace, come to meet the Guru.

ਆਪਣੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧੋ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਗੋਲਾ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਰਤੀਮਾਨ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ।

Shedding their sins, His servants are forever pure; at the True Court, they are beautified by the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||6||

ਜਦ ਹਿਸਾਬ-ਕਿਤਾਬ ਮੰਗਿਆ ਗਿਆ, ਉਹ ਉਦੋਂ ਕੌਣ ਦੇ ਸਕੇਗਾ?

When they are called to settle their accounts, who will answer then?

ਤਦੋਂ ਦੋ ਤੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਗਿਣ (ਹਿਸਾਬ ਦੇਣ) ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਠੰਢ-ਚੈਨ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣੀ।

There shall be no peace then, from counting out by twos and threes.

ਸੱਚਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਖੁਦ ਮਾਫੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਫ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

The True Lord God Himself forgives, and having forgiven, He unites them with Himself. ||7||

ਉਹ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

He Himself does, and He Himself causes all to be done.

ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

Through the Shabad, the Word of the Perfect Guru, He is met.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਬਜੁਰਗੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਮਾਲਕ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਅੰਦਰ ਮਿਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

O Nanak, through the Naam, greatness is obtained. He Himself unites in His Union. ||8||2||3||
