ਮਾਝ, ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।

Maajh, Third Mehl, First House:

ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

By His Mercy, we meet the True Guru.

ਕੇਵਲ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਆਦਮੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ।

Center your awareness on seva-selfless service-and focus your consciousness on the Word of the Shabad.

ਆਪਣੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਵਿਰਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਬੰਦਾ ਸਦੀਵੀਂ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਧਨ-ਦੌਲਤ ਦੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਟਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Subduing your ego, you shall find a lasting peace, and your emotional attachment to Maya will be dispelled. ||1||

ਮੈਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦ-ਜਾਨ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ, ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ।

I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, I am totally devoted to the True Guru.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਰੱਬੀ ਚਾਨਣ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਰੈਣ ਦਿਹੁੰ ਮੈਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Through the Guru's Teachings, the Divine Light has dawned; I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, night and day. ||1||Pause||

ਜੇਕਰ ਬੰਦਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਦੇਹਿ ਤੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਢੂੰਡ ਭਾਲ ਕਰੇ, ਤਦ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Search your body and mind, and find the Name.

ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਮਨੂਏ ਨੂੰ ਹੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਖਦਾ ਹੈ।

Restrain your wandering mind, and keep it in check.

ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਉਹ ਰੈਣ ਦਿਹੂੰ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਤੇ ਸਿਧ ਹੀ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਮਈ ਸੇਵਾ ਅੰਦਰ ਜੁਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Night and day, sing the Songs of the Guru's Bani; worship the Lord with intuitive devotion. ||2||

ਇਸ ਦੇਹਿ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਚੀਜਾਂ ਹਨ।

Within this body are countless objects.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਸੱਚ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਵਾਂ, ਕੇਵਲ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

The Gurmukh attains Truth, and comes to see them.

ਜੋ ਨਵਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਚੇਰੇ ਉਡਾਰੀ ਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦਸਵੇਂ ਦੁਆਰ ਦਾ ਬੈਕੁੰਠੀ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੁਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Beyond the nine gates, the Tenth Gate is found, and liberation is obtained. The Unstruck Melody of the Shabad vibrates. ||3||

ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ।

True is the Master, and True is His Name.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਦਾ ਸਦਕਾ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

By Guru's Grace, He comes to dwell within the mind.

ਜੋ ਰੈਣ ਦਿਹੁੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸੱਚੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਦੀ ਗਿਆਤ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Night and day, remain attuned to the Lord's Love forever, and you shall obtain understanding in the True Court. ||4||

ਜੋ ਨੇਕੀ ਤੇ ਬਦੀ ਦੀ ਵੁੱਕਅਤ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦੀ,

Those who do not understand the nature of sin and virtue

ਅਤੇ ਦਵੈਤ-ਭਾਵ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਵਹਿਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਗੁਮਰਾਹ ਹੋਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।

are attached to duality; they wander around deluded.

ਬੇਸਮਝ, ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਠੀਕ ਰਸਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

The ignorant and blind people do not know the way; they come and go in reincarnation over and over again. ||5||

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਆਰਾਮ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

Serving the Guru, I have found eternal peace;

ਮੇਰੀ ਹੰਗਤਾ ਤੇ ਅਪਣੱਤ ਰੋਕ ਤੇ ਵਰਜ ਦਿਤੇ ਹਨ।

my ego has been silenced and subdued.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰੇ ਕਰਡੇ ਤਖਤੇ ਖੁਲ੍ਹ ਗਹੈ ਹਨ।

Through the Guru's Teachings, the darkness has been dispelled, and the heavy doors have been opened. ||6||

ਆਪਣੀ ਸਵੈ-ਹੰਗਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਟ ਕੇ, ਮੈਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਾਇਆ ਹੈ।

Subduing my ego, I have enshrined the Lord within my mind.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਜੋੜਿਆ ਹੈ।

I focus my consciousness on the Guru's Feet forever.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਸ਼ੁਧ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਅਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

By Guru's Grace, my mind and body are immaculate and pure; I meditate on the Immaculate Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||7||

ਪੈਦਾਇਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਮੌਤ ਤੱਕ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਈ ਅਰਪਣ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ!

From birth to death, everything is for You.

ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭਤਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਮਾਫ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

You bestow greatness upon those whom You have forgiven.

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਤੂੰ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ, ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਪੈਦਾਇਸ਼ ਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।

O Nanak, meditating forever on the Naam, you shall be blessed in both birth and death. ||8||1||2||
