ਗੁਰਮਤੀ. ਜਮੁ ਜੋਹਿ, ਨ ਸਾਕੈ; ਸਾਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਦੂਤ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਛੂਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
Following the Guru's Teachings, I cannot be touched by the Messenger of Death. I am absorbed in the True Name.
ਸਭੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਕਰਤਾ; ਜੋ ਭਾਵੈ. ਸੋ ਨਾਇ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
sabh aape aap varatai karataa; jo bhaavai. so naae laaeaa |
ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Creator Himself is All-pervading everywhere; He links those with whom He is pleased to His Name.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕੁ. ਨਾਮੁ ਲਏ ਤਾ ਜੀਵੈ; ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ. ਖਿਨੁ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਇਆ ॥੨॥

ਜੇਕਰ ਗੋਲਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਕਰੇ, ਕੇਵਲ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਉਹ ਇਕ ਛਿਨ ਅੰਦਰ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Servant Nanak chants the Naam, and so he lives. Without the Name, he would die in an instant. ||2||

ਜੋ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਦੀਬਾਣ ਸਿਉ; ਸੋ ਸਭਨੀ ਦੀਬਾਣੀ ਮਿਲਿਆ ॥
jo miliaa har deebaan siau; so sabhanee deebaanee miliaa |
ਜੋ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕਚਹਿਰੀਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਵਾਣ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
One who is accepted at the Court of the Lord shall be accepted in courts everywhere.
ਜਿਥੈ ਓਹੁ ਜਾਇ, ਤਿਥੈ ਓਹੁ ਸੁਰਖਰੂ; ਉਸ ਕੈ ਮੁਹਿ ਡਿਠੈ, ਸਭ ਪਾਪੀ ਤਰਿਆ ॥
jithai ohu jaae, tithai ohu surakharoo; us kai muhi dditthai, sabh paapee tariaa |
ਜਿਥੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ ਉਹ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਥੇ ਉਹ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਚਿਹਰਾ ਦੇਖਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਨਾਹਗਾਰ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Wherever he goes, he is recognized as honorable. Seeing his face, all sinners are saved.
ਓਸੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹੈ; ਨਾਮੋ ਪਰਵਰਿਆ ॥

ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਕਬੂਲ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੈ।
Within him is the Treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. Through the Naam, he is exalted.
ਨਾਉ ਪੂਜੀਐ ਨਾਉ ਮੰਨੀਐ; ਨਾਇ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਸਭ ਹਿਰਿਆ ॥
naau poojeeai naau maneeai; naae kilavikh sabh hiriaa |
ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਪੂਜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾਮ ਉਤੇ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਿਸਚਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਬੂਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
He worships the Name, and believes in the Name; the Name erases all his sinful mistakes.
ਜਿਨੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ, ਇਕ ਮਨਿ ਇਕ ਚਿਤਿ; ਸੇ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਜਗਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥੧੧॥
jinee naam dhiaaeaa, ik man ik chit; se asathir jag rahiaa |11|
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ, ਇਕ ਰਿਦੇ ਤੇ ਇਕ ਦਿਲ ਨਾਲ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਅਮਰ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who meditate on the Name, with one-pointed mind and focused consciousness, remain forever stable in the world. ||11||

Salok, Third Mehl:
ਆਤਮਾ ਦੇਉ ਪੂਜੀਐ; ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਿਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਵਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸ਼ਨਾ ਕਰ।
Worship the Divine, Supreme Soul, with the intuitive peace and poise of the Guru.
ਆਤਮੇ ਨੋ ਆਤਮੇ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤਿ ਹੋਇ; ਤਾ ਘਰ ਹੀ ਪਰਚਾ ਪਾਇ ॥
aatame no aatame dee prateet hoe; taa ghar hee parachaa paae |
ਜੇਕਰ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੀ ਰੂਹ ਦਾ ਪਰਮ-ਰੂਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਬੱਝ ਜਾਵੇ, ਤਦ ਇਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮ-ਗਿਆਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਵੇਗੀ।
If the individual soul has faith in the Supreme Soul, then it shall obtain realization within its own home.
ਆਤਮਾ ਅਡੋਲੁ. ਨ ਡੋਲਈ; ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਇ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੁਦਰਤੀ ਰਜੂਅ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਦ ਰੂਹ ਅਸਥਿਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਡਿਕਡੋਲੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਾਂਦੀ।
The soul becomes steady, and does not waver, by the natural inclination of the Guru's Loving Will.
ਗੁਰ ਵਿਣੁ. ਸਹਜੁ ਨ ਆਵਈ; ਲੋਭੁ ਮੈਲੁ. ਨ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਜਾਇ ॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਦੀ ਮਲੀਨਤਾ ਅੰਦਰੋ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।
Without the Guru, intuitive wisdom does not come, and the filth of greed does not depart from within.
ਖਿਨੁ ਪਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ; ਸਭ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਨਾਇ ॥
khin pal har naam man vasai; sabh atthasatth teerath naae |
ਜੇਕਰ ਰਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਇਕ ਮਹਤ ਤੇ ਲਮ੍ਹੇ ਭਰ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਸਮੂਹ ਅਠਾਹਟ ਯਾਤ੍ਰਾ ਅਸਥਾਨਾ ਤੇ ਨ੍ਹਾਉਣਾ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
If the Lord's Name abides within the mind, for a moment, even for an instant, it is like bathing at all the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage.
ਸਚੇ. ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਲਗਈ; ਮਲੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ॥

ਸਚਿਆਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੰਦਗੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਿਮੜਦੀ। ਪਲੀਤੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚਿਮੜਦੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਹੋਰਸ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Filth does not stick to those who are true, but filth attaches itself to those who love duality.
ਧੋਤੀ ਮੂਲਿ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ; ਜੇ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਨਾਇ ॥

ਧੋਪਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇਹ ਹਰਗਿਜ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਹਿੰਦੀ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਬੰਦਾ ਅਠਾਹਟ ਧਰਮ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਪਿਆ ਕਰੇ।
This filth cannot be washed off, even by bathing at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage.
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਕਰਮ ਕਰੇ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ; ਸਭੁ ਦੁਖੋ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਮਾਇ ॥
manamukh karam kare ahankaaree; sabh dukho dukh kamaae |
ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕੂਲ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਗਰਬ ਗੁਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨਿਰੋਲ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਉਤੇ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਦੀ ਖੱਟੀ ਖੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ।
The self-willed manmukh does deeds in egotism; he earns only pain and more pain.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਮੈਲਾ, ਊਜਲੁ ਤਾ ਥੀਐ; ਜਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥

ਨਾਨਕ, ਕੇਵਲ ਤਦ, ਹੀ ਗਲੀਜ਼-ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਸਾਫ ਸੁਥਰਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦ ਉਹ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, the filthy ones become clean only when they meet and surrender to the True Guru. ||1||

ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
Third Mehl:
ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਲੋਕੁ ਸਮਝਾਈਐ; ਕਦਹੁ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥

ਆਪਹੁਦਰੇ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਨਸੀਹਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਿਖ-ਮਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ?
The self-willed manmukhs may be taught, but how can they really be taught?
ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਰਲਾਇਆ. ਨਾ ਰਲੈ; ਪਇਐ ਕਿਰਤਿ ਫਿਰਾਇ ॥

ਭਲਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਭੀ, ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕੂਲ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਬਲ ਮੱਦ ਅਮਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਬੱਬ ਆਵਾਗਉਣ ਅੰਦਰ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
The manmukhs do not fit in at all. Because of their past actions, they are condemned to the cycle of reincarnation.
ਲਿਵ ਧਾਤੁ ਦੁਇ ਰਾਹ ਹੈ; ਹੁਕਮੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਇ ॥
liv dhaat due raah hai; hukamee kaar kamaae |
ਰੱਬ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਲਗਨ ਦੋ ਰਸਤੇ ਹਨ, ਬੰਦਾ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਅਮਲ ਕਮਾਉਂਦਾ (ਕਿਸ ਰਾਹੇ ਟੁਰਦਾ) ਹੈ, ਰਬ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਭਰ ਹੈ।
Loving attention to the Lord and attachment to Maya are the two separate ways; all act according to the Hukam of the Lord's Command.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਰਿਆ; ਸਬਦਿ ਕਸਵਟੀ ਲਾਇ ॥

ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਘਸਵੱਟੀ ਦਾ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨੂਹੈ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਬੂ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
The Gurmukh has conquered his own mind, by applying the Touchstone of the Shabad.
ਮਨ ਹੀ ਨਾਲਿ ਝਗੜਾ, ਮਨ ਹੀ ਨਾਲਿ ਸਥ; ਮਨ ਹੀ ਮੰਝਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
man hee naal jhagarraa, man hee naal sath; man hee manjh samaae |
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨੂਏ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਟਾਕਰਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਨੂਏ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਸੁਲ੍ਹਾ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੂਏ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਘੋਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਜੁਟਦਾ ਹੈ।
He fights with his mind, he settles with his mind, and he is at peace with his mind.
ਮਨੁ ਜੋ ਇਛੇ ਸੋ ਲਹੈ; ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
man jo ichhe so lahai; sachai sabad subhaae |
ਸੱਚੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਉਹ ਕੁਛ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੁਛ ਉਹ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
All obtain the desires of their minds, through the Love of the True Word of the Shabad.
ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦ ਭੁੰਚੀਐ; ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਇ ॥
amrit naam sad bhuncheeai; guramukh kaar kamaae |
ਉਹ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਘਾਰਸ ਪਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਅਮਲ ਕਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
They drink in the Ambrosial Nectar of the Naam forever; this is how the Gurmukhs act.
ਵਿਣੁ ਮਨੈ. ਜਿ ਹੋਰੀ ਨਾਲਿ ਲੁਝਣਾ; ਜਾਸੀ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥
vin manai. ji horee naal lujhanaa; jaasee janam gavaae |
ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨੂਏ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰਸ ਨਾਲ ਹਥੋ-ਪਾਈ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਗੁਆ ਕੇ ਟੁਰ ਜਾਏਗਾ।
Those who struggle with something other than their own mind, shall depart having wasted their lives.
ਮਨਮੁਖੀ. ਮਨਹਠਿ ਹਾਰਿਆ; ਕੂੜੁ ਕੁਸਤੁ ਕਮਾਇ ॥

ਮਨੂਏ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੱਦ ਅਤੇ ਝੂਠ ਤੇ ਨਾਰਾਸਤੀ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਤ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਪ-ਹੁੰਦਰੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਖੇਡ ਹਾਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
The self-willed manmukhs, through stubborn-mindedness and the practice of falsehood, lose the game of life.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਮਨੁ ਜਿਣੈ; ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥
gur parasaadee man jinai; har setee liv laae |
ਜੋ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੰਦੇ-ਆਪੇ ਤੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਹਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਲਗ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
Those who conquer their own mind, by Guru's Grace, lovingly focus their attention on the Lord.
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਚੁ ਕਮਾਵੈ; ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ॥੨॥
naanak guramukh sach kamaavai; manamukh aavai jaae |2|
ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇਕ ਬੰਦਾ ਸਚ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮੰਦ ਜੀਵ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, the Gurmukhs practice Truth, while the self-willed manmukhs continue coming and going in reincarnation. ||2||

ਹੇ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਰੂਪ ਪੁਰਸ਼ੌ! ਮੇਰੇ ਵੀਰਨੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਰਬ-ਰੂਪ ਸਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਸਿਖਿਆ ਸਰਵਣ ਕਰੋ।
O Saints of the Lord, O Siblings of Destiny, listen, and hear the Lord's Teachings, through the True Guru.
ਜਿਸੁ ਧੁਰਿ ਭਾਗੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਮੁਖਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ; ਤਿਨਿ ਜਨਿ ਲੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਰਾਖੀ ॥

ਜਿਹਦੇ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਤੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਨਸੀਬ ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ ਉਕਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਉਹੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਹਿਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
Those who have good destiny pre-ordained and inscribed on their foreheads, grasp it and keep it enshrined in the heart.
ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤ ਕਥਾ ਸਰੇਸਟ ਊਤਮ; ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਸਹਜੇ ਚਾਖੀ ॥

ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਰੀਏ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਉਨਤ, ਉਤਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਤ ਤੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਮਈ ਧਰਮ-ਵਾਰਤਾ ਦਾ ਸੁਖੈਨ ਹੀ ਰਸ ਮਾਣ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
Through the Guru's Teachings, they intuitively taste the sublime, exquisite and ambrosial sermon of the Lord.
ਤਹ ਭਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ, ਮਿਟਿਆ ਅੰਧਿਆਰਾ; ਜਿਉ ਸੂਰਜ. ਰੈਣਿ ਕਿਰਾਖੀ ॥
teh bheaa pragaas, mittiaa andhiaaraa; jiau sooraj. rain kiraakhee |
ਉਥੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਬੀ ਨੂਰ ਉਦੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਭਾਨ ਦੇ ਰਾਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੇ ਹਨ੍ਹੇਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਹਟਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਮਾਨਿੰਦ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਬੇਸਮਝੀ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Divine Light shines in their hearts, and like the sun which removes the darkness of night, it dispels the darkness of ignorance.
ਅਦਿਸਟੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਅਲਖੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ; ਸੋ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਖੀ ॥੧੨॥
adisatt agochar alakh niranjan; so dekhiaa guramukh aakhee |12|
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਨੇਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਂ-ਦਿਸਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ, ਸਮਝ ਸੋਚ ਤੋਂ ਉਚੇਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
As Gurmukh, they behold with their eyes the Unseen, Imperceptible, Unknowable, Immaculate Lord. ||12||
