ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ; ਤਿਸ ਕੀ. ਕੀਮ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥
satigur sev gun nidhaan paaeaa; tis kee. keem na paaee |
ਸਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਉਤਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਤਾਈਆਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
Serving the True Guru, I have found the Treasure of Excellence. Its value cannot be estimated.
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਖਾ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਮੇਰਾ; ਅੰਤੇ ਹੋਇ ਸਖਾਈ ॥੩॥
prabh sakhaa har jeeo meraa; ante hoe sakhaaee |3|
ਪੂਜਯ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪ੍ਰਮੇਸ਼ਰ ਮੈਡਾ ਮਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਅਖੀਰ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
The Dear Lord God is my Best Friend. In the end, He shall be my Companion and Support. ||3||
ਪੇਈਅੜੈ ਜਗਜੀਵਨੁ ਦਾਤਾ; ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਪਤਿ ਗਵਾਈ ॥
peeearrai jagajeevan daataa; manamukh pat gavaaee |
ਜਗਤ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਜਾਨ, ਉਦਾਰਚਿੱਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਪੇਕੇ (ਇਸ ਜਹਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ) ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬੇ-ਖਬਰ ਹੋ, ਕਾਫਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਵੰਞਾ ਲਈ ਹੈ।
In this world of my father's home, the Great Giver is the Life of the World. The self-willed manmukhs have lost their honor.
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ. ਕੋ ਮਗੁ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ; ਅੰਧੇ. ਠਉਰ ਨ ਕਾਈ ॥
bin satigur. ko mag na jaanai; andhe. tthaur na kaaee |
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ। ਅੰਨ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਆਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਭਦੀ।
Without the True Guru, no one knows the Way. The blind find no place of rest.
ਹਰਿ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ. ਮਨਿ ਨਹੀ ਵਸਿਆ; ਅੰਤਿ ਗਇਆ ਪਛੁਤਾਈ ॥੪॥
har sukhadaataa. man nahee vasiaa; ant geaa pachhutaaee |4|
ਜੇਕਰ ਆਰਾਮ ਦੇਣਹਾਰ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ, ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਸਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਅਖੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਸਚਾਤਾਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ, ਟੂਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
If the Lord, the Giver of Peace, does not dwell within the mind, then they shall depart with regret in the end. ||4||
ਪੇਈਅੜੈ ਜਗਜੀਵਨੁ ਦਾਤਾ; ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਇਆ ॥

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਖਿਆ ਤਾਬੇ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪੇਕੇ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੈਂ ਆਲਮ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਦ-ਜਾਨ, ਦਰਿਆ-ਦਿਲ ਸਾਈਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
In this world of my father's house, through the Guru's Teachings, I have cultivated within my mind the Great Giver, the Life of the World.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ; ਹਉਮੈ ਮੋਹੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ॥
anadin bhagat kareh din raatee; haumai mohu chukaaeaa |
ਜੋ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ, ਦਿਹੁੰ-ਰੈਣ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਹੰਗਤਾ ਤੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਟ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Night and day, performing devotional worship, day and night, ego and emotional attachment are removed.
ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਉ ਰਾਤਾ ਤੈਸੋ ਹੋਵੈ; ਸਚੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੫॥
jis siau raataa taiso hovai; sache sach samaaeaa |5|
ਉਹ ਤਦ, ਉਸ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਰੰਗੀਜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਿਤ ਹੀ ਸਤਿਪੁਰਖ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
And then, attuned to Him, we become like Him, truly absorbed in the True One. ||5||
ਆਪੇ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ. ਭਾਉ ਲਾਏ; ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥

ਆਪਣੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਆਪਣੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਬਖਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ।
Bestowing His Glance of Grace, He gives us His Love, and we contemplate the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਸਹਜੁ ਊਪਜੈ; ਹਉਮੈ ਤਿ੍ਰਸਨਾ ਮਾਰਿ ॥
satigur seviai sehaj aoopajai; haumai trisanaa maar |
ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਮਾਉਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਠੰਢ ਚੈਨ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀ ਹੰਗਤਾ ਤੇ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Serving the True Guru, intuitive peace wells up, and ego and desire die.
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣਦਾਤਾ ਸਦ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ; ਸਚੁ ਰਖਿਆ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ॥੬॥
har gunadaataa sad man vasai; sach rakhiaa ur dhaar |6|
ਨੇਕੀ ਬਖਸ਼ਣ ਹਾਰ ਹਰੀ, ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸੱਚ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਈ ਰਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Lord, the Giver of Virtue, dwells forever within the minds of those who keep Truth enshrined within their hearts. ||6||
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ; ਮਨਿ ਨਿਰਮਲਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
prabh meraa sadaa niramalaa; man niramal paaeaa jaae |
ਸਦੀਵੀ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਸiਾਹਬ। ਸ਼ੁੱਧ-ਚਿੱਤ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
My God is forever Immaculate and Pure; with a pure mind, He can be found.
ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ; ਹਉਮੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਸਭੁ ਜਾਇ ॥
naam nidhaan har man vasai; haumai dukh sabh jaae |
ਜੇਕਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਜਾਨਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਹੰਗਤਾ ਤੇ ਗਮ ਸਮੂਹ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
If the Treasure of the Name of the Lord abides within the mind, egotism and pain are totally eliminated.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ; ਹਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ॥੭॥
satigur sabad sunaaeaa; hau sad balihaarai jaau |7|
ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੋਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
The True Guru has instructed me in the Word of the Shabad. I am forever a sacrifice to Him. ||7||
ਆਪਣੈ ਮਨਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਕਹੈ ਕਹਾਏ; ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ. ਆਪੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
aapanai man chit kahai kahaae; bin gur. aap na jaaee |
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਸਵੈ-ਹੰਗਤਾ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ। ਆਪਣੇ ਰਿਦੇ ਤੇ ਦਿਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਬੰਦਾ ਕੁਛ ਪਿਆ ਆਖੇ ਤੇ ਅਖਵਾਵੇ।
Within your own conscious mind, you may say anything, but without the Guru, selfishness and conceit are not eradicated.
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ. ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ; ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਈ ॥
har jeeo. bhagat vachhal sukhadaataa; kar kirapaa man vasaaee |
ਪੂਜਨੀਯ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਤੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਦੇਣਹਾਰ ਹੈ। ਆਪਣੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Dear Lord is the Lover of His devotees, the Giver of Peace. By His Grace, He abides within the mind.
ਨਾਨਕ. ਸੋਭਾ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਦੇਇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪੇ; ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਦੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੮॥੧॥੧੮॥

ਨਾਨਕ, ਸਾਹਿਬ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਜਾਗ੍ਰਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਤਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ।
O Nanak, God blesses us with the sublime awakening of consciousness; He Himself grants glorious greatness to the Gurmukh. ||8||1||18||

ਹਉਮੈ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵਦੇ; ਜਮਡੰਡੁ ਲਗੈ. ਤਿਨ ਆਇ ॥
haumai karam kamaavade; jamaddandd lagai. tin aae |
ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਫ਼ਰੇਸ਼ਤੇ ਦਾ ਡੰਡਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਵਰ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਾਰ-ਵਿਹਾਰ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who go around acting in egotism are struck down by the Messenger of Death with his club.
ਜਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਨਿ ਸੇ ਉਬਰੇ; ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੧॥
ji satigur sevan se ubare; har setee liv laae |1|
ਜੋ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਖਿਦਮਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Those who serve the True Guru are uplifted and saved, in love with the Lord. ||1||
ਮਨ ਰੇ; ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥
man re; guramukh naam dhiaae |
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੜੀਏ! ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ।
O mind, become Gurmukh, and meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਧੁਰਿ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਕਰਤੈ ਲਿਖਿਆ; ਤਿਨਾ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
dhur poorab karatai likhiaa; tinaa guramat naam samaae |1| rahaau |
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ ਐਸੀ ਲਿਖਤਾਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਛੱਡੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
Those who are so pre-destined by the Creator are absorbed into the Naam, through the Guru's Teachings. ||1||Pause||
ਵਿਣੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ. ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ; ਨਾਮਿ. ਨ ਲਾਗੋ ਭਾਉ ॥
vin satigur. parateet na aavee; naam. na laago bhaau |
ਸਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੱਝਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਰਹੜੀ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
Without the True Guru, faith does not come, and love for the Naam is not embraced.
ਸੁਪਨੈ. ਸੁਖੁ ਨ ਪਾਵਈ; ਦੁਖ ਮਹਿ ਸਵੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੨॥
supanai. sukh na paavee; dukh meh savai samaae |2|
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਫਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੀ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਤਕਲੀਫ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਸੌਦਾ ਤੇ ਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Even in dreams, they find no peace; they sleep immersed in pain. ||2||
ਜੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਚੈ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਲੋਚੀਐ; ਕਿਰਤੁ. ਨ ਮੇਟਿਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
je har har keechai bahut locheeai; kirat. na mettiaa jaae |
ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਘਣੀ ਚਾਹਣਾ ਕਰੇ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਕਰੇ, ਤਦਯਪ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਬਲੇ ਕਰਮ ਮੇਸੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ।
Even if you chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, with great longing, your past actions are still not erased.
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ. ਭਗਤੀ ਮੰਨਿਆ; ਸੇ ਭਗਤ ਪਏ ਦਰਿ ਥਾਇ ॥੩॥
har kaa bhaanaa. bhagatee maniaa; se bhagat pe dar thaae |3|
ਸੰਤ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਐਸੇ ਸੰਤ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬੂਹੇ ਤੇ ਕਬੂਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਵਦੇ ਹਨ।
The Lord's devotees surrender to His Will; those devotees are accepted at His Door. ||3||
ਗੁਰੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਦਿੜਾਵੈ ਰੰਗ ਸਿਉ; ਬਿਨੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ. ਲਇਆ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
gur sabad dirraavai rang siau; bin kirapaa. leaa na jaae |
ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਕੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਸਥਾਪਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪ੍ਰੰਤੁ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਪਰਾਪਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ।
The Guru has lovingly implanted the Word of His Shabad within me. Without His Grace, it cannot be attained.
ਜੇ ਸਉ ਅੰਮਿ੍ਰਤੁ ਨੀਰੀਐ; ਭੀ ਬਿਖੁ ਫਲੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਧਾਇ ॥੪॥
je sau amrit neereeai; bhee bikh fal laagai dhaae |4|
ਭਾਵੇਂ ਜ਼ਹਿਰੀਲੇ ਪੌਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਸੈਕੜੇ ਵਾਰੀ ਸੁਧਾ-ਰਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਿੰਜੀਏ, ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੱਜ ਕੇ ਜ਼ਹਿਰੀਲੀ ਫਲ ਲੱਗਣਗੇ।
Even if the poisonous plant is watered with ambrosial nectar a hundred times, it will still bear poisonous fruit. ||4||
ਸੇ ਜਨ ਸਚੇ ਨਿਰਮਲੇ; ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਲਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
se jan sache niramale; jin satigur naal piaar |
ਸਤਿਵਾਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਪੁਰਸ਼, ਜਿਨ੍ਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਰੀਤ ਹੈ।
Those humble beings who are in love with the True Guru are pure and true.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਕਮਾਵਦੇ; ਬਿਖੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਤਜਿ ਵਿਕਾਰੁ ॥੫॥
satigur kaa bhaanaa kamaavade; bikh haumai taj vikaar |5|
ਉਹ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਬਦੀ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
They act in harmony with the Will of the True Guru; they shed the poison of ego and corruption. ||5||
ਮਨਹਠਿ. ਕਿਤੈ ਉਪਾਇ, ਨ ਛੂਟੀਐ; ਸਿਮਿ੍ਰਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਸੋਧਹੁ ਜਾਇ ॥

ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਯਤਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਮਨੂਏ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੱਦ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਬੰਦਾ ਬੰਦਾ-ਖਲਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ, ਜਾ ਕੇ ਸਿੰਮਰਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘੋਖ ਕੇ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਦੇਖੇ!
Acting in stubborn-mindedness, no one is saved; go and study the Simritees and the Shaastras.
ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਉਬਰੇ; ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਮਾਇ ॥੬॥
mil sangat saadhoo ubare; gur kaa sabad kamaae |6|
ਸੰਤ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਣ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਤੇ ਅਮਲ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and practicing the Shabads of the Guru, you shall be saved. ||6||
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹੈ; ਜਿਸੁ. ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰੁ ॥
har kaa naam nidhaan hai; jis. ant na paaraavaar |
ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਣਾ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਓੜਕ, ਉਰਲਾ ਜਾ ਪਰਲਾ ਸਿਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
The Name of the Lord is the Treasure, which has no end or limitation.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੇਈ ਸੋਹਦੇ; ਜਿਨ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਤਾਰੁ ॥੭॥
guramukh seee sohade; jin kirapaa kare karataar |7|
ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ-ਸਮਰਪਣ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਮਿਹਰ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸੁੰਦਰ ਦਿਸਦੇ ਹਨ।
The Gurmukhs are beauteous; the Creator has blessed them with His Mercy. ||7||
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਤਾ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ; ਦੂਜਾ ਅਉਰੁ. ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
naanak daataa ek hai; doojaa aaur. na koe |
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇਵਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਹੈ, ਹੋਰ ਦੂਸਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ।
O Nanak, the One Lord alone is the Giver; there is no other at all.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਪਾਈਐ; ਕਰਮਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੮॥੨॥੧੯॥
gur parasaadee paaeeai; karam paraapat hoe |8|2|19|
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ।
By Guru's Grace, He is obtained. By His Mercy, He is found. ||8||2||19||
