ਗਊੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ, ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਚੌਥੀ।

Gauree Gwaarayree, Fourth Mehl:

ਫਲਦਾਇਕ ਹੈ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਾਕਰੀ,

Service to the True Guru is fruitful and rewarding;

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

meeting Him, I meditate on the Name of the Lord, the Lord Master.

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਲਗ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਬੰਦ-ਖਲਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

So many are emancipated along with those who meditate on the Lord. ||1||

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਾਓ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਮੁਰੀਦੋ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰੇ।

O GurSikhs, chant the Name of the Lord, O my Siblings of Destiny.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਮੂਹ ਕਸਮਲ ਧੋਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

Chanting the Lord's Name, all sins are washed away. ||1||Pause||

ਜਦ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਦ ਮਨੂਆ ਕਾਬੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ!

When one meets the Guru, then the mind becomes centered.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪੰਜੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਵੇਗਾ ਦੀ ਦੌੜ-ਭੱਜ ਮੁਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,

The five passions, running wild, are brought to rest by meditating on the Lord.

ਅਤੇ ਰੈਣ ਦਿਹੁੰ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਆਪਣੀ ਦੇਹਿ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Night and day, within the body-village, the Glorious Praises of the Lord are sung. ||2||

ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਖਾਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ,

Those who apply the dust of the Feet of the True Guru to their faces,

ਉਹ ਝੂਠ ਨੂੰ ਛਡ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

renounce falsehood and enshrine love for the Lord.

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਰੋਸ਼ਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹੇ ਵੀਰ।

Their faces are radiant in the Court of the Lord, O Siblings of Destiny. ||3||

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਦ ਚੰਗੀ ਲਗਦੀ ਹੈ।

Service to the Guru is pleasing to the Lord Himself.

ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਲਭਦਰ ਨੇ, ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀ ਡਿਗ ਕੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ।

Even Krishna and Balbhadar meditated on the Lord, falling at the Guru's Feet.

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਸਮਰਪਣਾ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਖੁਦ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

O Nanak, the Lord Himself saves the Gurmukhs. ||4||5||43||

ਗਊੜੀ ਗੁਰਾਰੇਰੀ, ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਚੋਥੀ।

Gauree Gwaarayree, Fourth Mehl:

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੋਟਾ ਰਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਯੋਗੀ ਹੈ।

The Lord Himself is the Yogi, who wields the staff of authority.

ਜਗਤ ਬਾਗ ਦਾ ਮਾਲੀ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

The Lord Himself practices tapa - intense self-disciplined meditation;

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਤਪੱਸਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

He is deeply absorbed in His primal trance. ||1||

ਇਹੋ ਜੇਹਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰੀਪੂਰਨ ਹੈ।

Such is my Lord, who is all-pervading everywhere.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਲਾਗੇ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਦੁਰੇਡੇ ਨਹੀਂ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

He dwells near at hand - the Lord is not far away. ||1||Pause||

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਖੁਦ ਬਾਣੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਸਮਝ ਸੋਚ ਜੋ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਰਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।

The Lord Himself is the Word of the Shabad. He Himself is the awareness, attuned to its music.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਖੁਦ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਪਰਫੁਲਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

The Lord Himself beholds, and He Himself blossoms forth.

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਖੁਦ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ,

The Lord Himself chants, and the Lord Himself inspires others to chant. ||2||

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਆਪ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ-ਆਬਿ-ਹਿਯਾਤ ਦਾ ਮੂਸਲਾਧਾਰ ਮੀਂਹ।

He Himself is the rainbird, and the Ambrosial Nectar raining down.

ਭਗਵਾਨ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਧਾਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੀਆਵਣਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ।

The Lord is the Ambrosial Nectar; He Himself leads us to drink it in.

ਭਗਵਾਨ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਕੁਛ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

The Lord Himself is the Doer; He Himself is our Saving Grace. ||3||

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਖੁਦ ਨਊਕਾ, ਤੁਲਹੜਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਲਾਹ ਹੈ।

The Lord Himself is the Boat, the Raft and the Boatman.

ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਧਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

The Lord Himself, through the Guru's Teachings, saves us.

ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਭਗਵਾਨ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ, ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

O Nanak, the Lord Himself carries us across to the other side. ||4||6||44||

ਗਊੜੀ ਬੈਰਾਗਣਿ, ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਚੌਥੀ।

Gauree Bairaagan, Fourth Mehl:

ਤੂੰ ਹੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਹੂਕਾਰ ਹੈ। ਜੇਹੋ ਜੇਹਾ ਵੱਖਰ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੋ ਜੇਹਾ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

O Master, You are my Banker. I receive only that capital which You give me.

ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੇਕਰ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਖੁਦ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੇਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਹਾਝਾ।

I would purchase the Lord's Name with love, if You Yourself, in Your Mercy, would sell it to me. ||1||

ਮੈਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਹਾਂ।

I am the merchant, the peddler of the Lord.

ਧੰਨ-ਦੌਲਤ ਬਖਸ਼ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਸੌਦਾਗਰੀ ਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਬੰਦੇ! ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।

I trade in the merchandise and capital of the Lord's Name. ||1||Pause||

ਮੈਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਰਾਗ ਦੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਦਾ ਨਫਾ ਕਮਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਾਹੂਕਾਰ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਸਦ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ।

I have earned the profit, the wealth of devotional worship of the Lord. I have become pleasing to the Mind of the Lord, the True Banker.

ਮੈਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੌਦਾ ਸੂਤ ਪਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਮਸੂਲ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਦੂਤ, ਮੇਰੇ ਨਜਦੀਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁਕਦਾ।

I chant and meditate on the Lord, loading the merchandise of the Lord's Name. The Messenger of Death, the tax collector, does not even approach me. ||2||

ਸੁਦਾਗਰ ਜੋ ਹੋਰਸੁ ਵਪਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਮੋਹਨੀ ਦੇ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਉਠਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

Those traders who trade in other merchandise, are caught up in the endless waves of the pain of Maya.

ਜੇਹੋ ਜੇਹੇ ਵਪਾਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰਬੂ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਇਆਂ ਹੈ ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਹੀ ਇਨਾਮ-ਇਕਰਾਮ ਉਹ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

According to the business in which the Lord has placed them, so are the rewards they obtain. ||3||

ਉਹ ਮਨੁਖ ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੀ ਸੁਦਾਗੀਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੁੜਦਾ ਹੈ।

People trade in the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, when the God shows His Mercy and bestows it.

ਨਫਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਹੂਕਾਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਕਦਾਚਿਤ ਉਸ ਕੋਲੋ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਗੇਗਾ।

Servant Nanak serves the Lord, the Banker; he shall never again be called to render his account. ||4||1||7||45||

ਗਊੜੀ ਬੈਰਾਗਣਿ, ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਚੋਥੀ।

Gauree Bairaagan, Fourth Mehl:

ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਦੀ ਉਮੇਦ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਪੇਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੱਚੇ ਦੀ ਪਰਵਰਸ਼ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਖਿਆਲ ਕਰ ਕੇ,

The mother nourishes the fetus in the womb, hoping for a son,

ਕਿ ਜੁਆਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਰੁਪਿਆ ਕਮਾਏਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਮਾਨਣ ਲਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਏਗਾ।

who will grow and earn and give her money to enjoy herself.

ਏਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਰਬ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਦਾ ਹਥ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

In just the same way, the humble servant of the Lord loves the Lord, who extends His Helping Hand to us. ||1||
